"GO HERE: for homemade comfort food in your new best friend’s sweet old apartment. Owner Elizabeth Bryan actually used to live in this quirky space before it was rezoned to serve food. You’ll see her carrying out plates of barbecue pork and grits, meatloaf sandwiches, and slices of coconut cream pie to Dock Lunch customers she knows (or will soon know) by name. ORDER THE: one of two to five daily specials from the handwritten menu on the wall, plus a slice of whatever Bryan has baked for dessert. (She’s got a fondness for Southern cooking.) She’ll post offerings on Instagram and Facebook, then sell out pretty quickly, usually before 3 p.m. If there’s lemonade when you first walk in, go for it. THE VIBE IS: like you’ve accidentally wandered into someone’s vintage-inspired living room, with mismatched furniture, pink drapes, and bookshelves you can browse while you wait for your lunch. PRACTICAL STUFF: Open Tuesday to Friday, from noon to 4 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Monday. Walk-ins are welcome, and try not to be late—when she’s out, she’s out! She also serves dinner on Friday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., so call 604-879-DOCK to reserve ahead. —Lindsay Anderson" - Condé Nast

This place is absolutely OUTSTANDING! I can't believe I've lived in Vancouver for 7 years and just found out about it--its a real gem. The food was fun, interesting and delicious. I also loved the very charming atmosphere. This is definitely going to be one of my new favs, a great spot for date night.

Best place for a casual date night! It’s a small homey place with a chef, waitress and it feels like you’re eating at someone’s house. You don’t know what you’re getting until you arrive, but at least you know it’s fresh! I will say the 2 times I’ve been here, the food has never failed me and I enjoy the surprise. A main dish will cost you ~$30 and you may need a side or dessert to fill yourself up (well that was the case for me). I will also mention that this is not the place to go if you have dietary restrictions - their menu fits on one sheet of paper. They also have a cute patio if you just want drinks. That’s more of a summer and spring thing though. I’m a fan of this place and will definitely come back for another date night. I’d say it’s worth driving a bit out of the way to try this place out!

Place and food a total 5/5 Service and customer experience 2/5 Cute place, eclectic decor, GREAT food, ok coffee the most beautiful cutlery and plates. We didn't have good luck with our server that day, she kept ignoring us and didn't explain how the menu worked (she didn't give us any menu). We figured out they served mimosas because the table beside us got it, and desert because other table ordered too. We felt like an inconvenient... Just to be clear, even tho we had no luck in service, I will 💯 go back. It's such a lovely place 🥰.

A small hidden gem! Antique atmosphere will bring back some of your memories from the past. Food is pretty amazing but little pricey. They change their menu daily, so make sure you check out their menu on their website(Instagram) first.

This is such a cute place with a really great atmosphere. I would lie if I say I didn't fall in love with this place. We went for Sunday brunch, they told us that we can sit but we have to wait for a little bit to receive our order. It took 1:15 to get the food and My friend had to leave before we get our food, cause we didn't expect to wait for this much! My brunch + drink + tax was $44. The food was ok, and the drink was good. But over all, it was too pricy and I was so disappointed.

One-of-a-kind. The menu is small and ever changing. The atmosphere is warm, intimate and inviting. The food is always a knock out. Dock Lunch is one of the spots the locals don’t want to tell you about...

The friendly and welcoming owner and lead chef Elizabeth never ceases to impress us. Every time we have brunch or dinner here the food is amazing, the service is like visiting old friends and we discover something new on the bookshelf. Elizabeth is a consummate host and we can't wait to see/taste what her and her kitchen creates next.

Had an excellent lunch here and an even better experience. The atmosphere is so cute and quaint; despite reading a little bit into it beforehand, I wasn’t prepared to walk into a living room but the staff were both very friendly and welcoming and everyone in there seemed familiar as well. That day I chose the rigatoni pasta over the prime rib sandwich and wasn’t disappointed. While the pasta was vegetarian, I was offered bacon free of charge because they had some left over to use up and it was very good! Not a super cheap lunch but well worth the value and the portion size was great especially for lunchtime. I also got a slice of the plum upside down cake which was great as well! Overall, I loved everything about this place, from the humble atmosphere, great playlist, generous staff and great food. I wish I lived in Vancouver so that I could come back!
