Dockside Smoked Fish Store

Great little spot for fresh smoked fish and seafood. The products are high quality, flavorful, and well prepared. Staff are friendly and helpful, making it easy to choose what you want. Perfect place to grab a snack or take home some local seafood specialties while in Ucluelet.

Wow.. got the smoked salmon. Not at all fishy, well smoked meat. Not super salty, just right. Kids loved it!! Delicious!! The person selling was helpful and gave me a sample before I bought it. Shared his life story and showed me a picture of his grandfather catching a massive salmon... pretty cool.

the best candied salmon and salmon jerky I have ever had! I recommend trying this store out. a wonderful part of our tofino experience.

I’ve never had a more uncomfortable experience and I hope it’s not normal of this place. I was so excited to get some smoked fish, and walked in and said “how’s it going boss?” The guy at the counter got offended and wouldn’t let it go. I didn’t mean it in a derogatory term, but instead was trying to be friendly. He kept asking me why I said it, and this went on for a few minutes. I told him I meant that he was the man because I was excited for the salmon. You could tell there was something more going on here, as his previous encounters were also super awkward. Regardless of his situation, this guy should not be working here and dealing with customers. I absolutely loved the smoked salmon, and highly recommend it. If someone else was serving me I’m sure I would have had a more positive experience.

I had amazing service everywhere in Tofino but here. There was one man inside the shop and he wouldn’t even put down his tablet when we asked him questions about the smoked fish and his recommendation. It felt like he didn’t want customers to buy stuff. Then when I went to pay, I held up my credit card so that he knew my method of payment. He didn’t tell me my total but just told me to tap to pay. When I left, I looked at the receipt and noticed HE GAVE HIMSELF a 10% tip. Tip for what? Answering 2 questions about the product? He clearly didn’t tell me my total out loud so he could sneak in the tip. It’s completely unethical and a shady way of doing business. To add, the smoked salmon was just average. I tried 2 different flavours and they’re not bad, but nothing special. I do not recommend this shop.

Smoked and candied salmon were both great. It is on the expensive side. When we were there, it was $ 13 cad per 100 grams (or about $50 cad / pound). This is a price that I would expect for locally made quality products. Which is exactly what this was.

$13/100 gram. It can add up quickly. The quality is worth the price. Freshly smoked. We enjoyed the lox and the roast pepper and garlic flavour smoked salmon.

Good fish, a bit pricey though ($23 for 2 small pieces). The lady was nice.
