It’s a good feeling when your expectations are met, and an even better feeling when they are exceeded.
Because that’s exactly what happened when I visited Doctor Dough Pizza at The Brewery Tap in Brentford, because straight after the first bite, I realised this was special, as in ‘one of, if not the best pizzas I’ve ever had’ special.
So was it ‘the best’? Well it came very close. Amazing crispy and chewy dough, moorish tomato sauce was cooked beforehand which I actually prefer, and the cheese grated over the crust after the pizza is cooked. Now that’s a proper pro move.
On the flip side, it’s the most expensive pizza I’ve ever had so far, with the 18 inch Pepperoni coming to £26. An 18 inch Margherita is £24, which is simply too expensive in my opinion.
There’s also no garlic dip available. Maybe it’s just me but I love a garlic aioli to dip my crusts into.
So the final score is a 9.2 out of 10, which puts it at No.2 on my list. Simply delicious pizza.
