I love a good hot dog, but usually only have them when I'm at the ballpark or a bbq. Although I miss the restaurant Stella Nonna in Berkeley, I was pretty excited to try the restaurant that moved into their old location - Dog Haus Biergarten.
Specializing in elevated hot dogs, sausages, chicken, burgers/sliders, sides, and more, there's a little something for everyone here. I love the fun & creativity they have with a menu of possibilities that are a bit different than just ketchup or mustard. We tried a corn dog (made with a house made root beer batter), the SoooCali dog (avocado, tomato, crispy onions, spicy basil aioli, arugula), the Chili the Kid dog (white American cheese, Haus chili, crispy onions, chipotle aioli), and a side of onion rings & the Haus slaw. Everything was super flavorful, crispy, and comforting.
They also have breakfast options (I heard their breakfast burritos are bomb), a kid's menu, vegan/vegetarian options, ice cream, and a pretty stellar craft beer (a lot of local brands) and cocktail menu. The restaurant itself has an open air concept, which is pretty cool. Feels like someone opened their garage to a beautiful hidden restaurant behind it. Service is quick and friendly, order at the counter. There is restaurant parking and metered parking outside.
Overall, good value for nostalgic foods with a heightened twist. Looking forward to trying their burgers next!
