New Bay Area Restaurants: Bandit, Maker of San Francisco’s Best Breakfast Sandwiches, Opens Dogpatch Restaurant | Eater SF

"I observed that Dog Haus opened a Berkeley beer garden on June 14 at 1407 San Pablo Avenue, bringing its sausage-forward menu, ritzy corn dogs, and frothy steins to the East Bay." - Lauren Saria

Rice and Bones, Sister Restaurant to Slanted Door, Is Closing After 5 Years on the UC Berkeley Campus | Eater SF

"The national restaurant chain Dog Haus will open a new outpost in Berkeley at 1407 San Pablo Avenue, taking over the former Stella Nonna space; it's the chain’s third Bay Area location and will offer a burger or hot dog and a beer to be enjoyed on the restaurant’s outdoor patio." - Lauren Saria

We stopped in on Monday expecting it to be slow but it was hopping! Chris, the bartender, was very helpful and immediately gave us our different options for placing our orders. I like having the choice of ordering from the QRL code at the table or the kiosk or in person at the bar. Chris was the only one working and he did a great job addressing all our questions while fielding all the to-go orders and serving folks sitting at the bar. The chili cheese dog was so delicious, not to mention the onion rings and sweet potato fries! Loved being able to take my dog inside as well. Great place to watch any game because they had several large screen TVs too. We will definitely return. The only store policy that was strange was there is a code needed for the bathroom and the bartender had to stop what he doing to open the bathroom door for each person requesting. I suggest the owner rethink this policy. It is very inconvenient for everyone. Also, note the parking lot has only 4 spots and 1 handicap, I'd suggest parking on the street. We will definitely return!

Was considering having a party here so I wanted to try their food. Went to the Berkeley location for Happy Hour at little after 3pm and was unable to get an order placed with the discounts. I signed up using my phone number in order to get the special discounts (or so I thought). Placed the order for the 4 Chopped Cheese sliders , The Ruben Tots, and 2 other items that were supposed to be 1 dollar off each. The person who attended to the order said he only started 3 days ago and couldn't override or give the discount. It was extremely frustrating and was told that the manager was there and would see about it. Never had the opportunity to speak to the Manager as they never came out. Strangely, there wasn't any customers around and so that could have also been a sign. I assumed that the system would discount the order through the kiosk order system but it didn't and only the full price was being charged. They should look into this problem, I just couldn't understand why they couldn't manually input the price with the discounts for Happy Hour to allow the discount so ended up just leaving after 30 minutes of attempting to order. I was ready to spend almost 50 for food, but sadly I never was able to even order to take advantage of the Happy Hour discount.

Google
This place is awesome! Not sure why it’s not 5 stars. Lots of different beer options and the food was amazing! We were a party of 4 and got different dogs/chicken - all were great! Wish we had this type of place near our home. FYI - if it says spicy- it is! But again so yummy! Definitely recommend this place.

Google
Straight Fire. I was headed to the taqueria, which I'm sure is also great, but ended up parking across the street from here and I'm glad I gave it a try. Great local beer selection, as well as a full bar. A very versatile menu with all-beef hot dogs, traditional brats, burgers and chicken both grilled and fried. Owner, Miguel was awesome.

This establishment needs help. The young man that was working the front of the house was the server, bartender, host. He did as much as he could to the best of his abilities. The kitchen staff could have possibly been overwhelmed but I had to send the food back twice and it still did have the things that I asked for on the burgers. Take your time and please take pride in preparing the food correctly and with love. Considering I spent $40+ on a burger and chopped cheese sliders is it too much to get lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles for them? This still was an issue after the young man went into the kitchen three times to relay the message and confirm the order. All of this primarily due to the fact that there is not anyone available to take your order and the self service kiosk doesn't allow for additional items to be added to the order, just the removal of specific items. Please don't just respond with the generic message asking to reach out the 'we care' email. Actually do something to help the staff and the establishment progress forward

Google
This review is not about the menu, the prices, or the ambiance. I never even made it past the entrance. My visit was a brief, stark lesson in the difference between following a rule and exercising basic human decency. I arrived at this establishment in distress, genuinely sick and in urgent need of a restroom. I approached a staff member—who looked me directly in the eye—and politely asked if I could use their facilities, explaining my immediate need before I planned to sit down and order something. The response was immediate and without a trace of compassion: "No, you can't. It's for customers." I was in a moment of vulnerability, and in return, I was met with cold, rigid adherence to policy. I simply said, "Thank you, I really appreciate that," and left. To the management: I left not because I was rejected, but because your employee's reaction showed me everything I needed to know about the values of this business. A momentary lapse in judgment for a few seconds of water use would have been an act of goodwill. Instead, you chose to prioritize the sanctity of your restrooms over the immediate physical need of a person who intended to be your patron. If your policy cannot bend for a sick person in desperate need, it is a bad policy, and you are running a business, not a community space. Kindness and common sense are always better business practices than rigidity. I highly recommend taking a moment to reflect on what matters more: a few cents of water, or your humanity. I will never return.

Google
Great food and friendly service! We've dined in and gotten takeout and both times the food has been super tasty. I like that they can open up the big doors to the main room on a nice day. There's some outside seating too. Highly recommend a burger on Hawaiian roll and tater tots!

Google
This place is a hidden gem! I found them on Yelp and drove 45 mins to have lunch with my puppy... It was great and the price was perfect! This location was very clean and welcoming. Food was 10/10!! I hope to eat here again!

Yelp
Shazam!!!!!! The restaurant has officially secured its liquor license and launched an exciting Beer Club. Even better, they now have a bartender whose skills are nothing short of world-class. Though I didn't catch his name, he's a true 7-star talent with experience in Miami, and it shows--his ability to craft and serve drinks is at an international level. What sets him apart isn't just the technical mastery, but his personable approach and top-notch service. Every interaction feels elevated, professional, and welcoming. This addition has transformed the restaurant into a destination not only for food but also for an exceptional bar experience.

Yelp
Tons of ads on social media for their Wednesday night trivia but when we arrived about 15 minutes before (6:45) the place was packed. This isn't a problem as I'm happy that business is going well for them. We thought we'd try to get a beer but no one was working the counter. We really couldn't tell who was part of the staff and not sure if the trivia hosts are employees or an outside company. Mostly it all seemed unorganized and dismissive. No apology, no sorry we don't have any more tables for the largely empty outside seating, not even a greeting or acknowledgment.

Yelp
I like Dog Haus's food, but I live just far enough away (and I'm wary of the fact that it isn't very good for me) that I don't eat there terribly often. Today, however, I stopped by while I was in that part of town. I had a reward for a free "El Gallo" item, which I was excited to try. I ordered the El Gallo wings. The bartender told me the cost, and I showed him my phone with the reward in the Dog Haus app. He had some issues with the internal system and asked the manager for assistance. After a short back-and-forth that amounted to "there's nothing we can do," I left with no El Gallo wings or anything else. I was very disappointed in this customer service. They clearly had the ingredients, as they were on the verge of preparing my order. So why did they not say "We're having an issue with our system, but we are going to honor the reward?" The only reason this is not a one-star review is that the staff members weren't rude about the situation -- just helpless. They seemingly hadn't been trained on how to handle this kind of situation, which tells me ownership has failed them. Do better, Dog Haus!

Yelp
Stopped by for their free tots/fries promo, which was cool, but the service was a bit slow since there was only 1 person working the front. Also couldn't use the kiosk for the deal, so I had to order in person. The staff member was really nice and helpful though, so no complaints there. One thing I thought was interesting was how they give you a QR code and you still have to pay through Snackpass even if you order at the counter. I got the Sooo Cali Haus Dog, and it was pretty good. Loved the brioche bun and the fresh avocado. The sauce had a nice flavor too. The hot dog itself could've used a bit more seasoning. It wasn't dry but not super juicy either. The tots were solid. Crunchy and well-portioned (especially for being free).

Yelp
Loved the service, and that homemade corn dog!!! We've been here twice and both times were exceptional!

Yelp
Food was great! No complaints. There were only 4 people when we went and they had a tiny parking lot that fits 4 cars and 1 handicapped. They allow dogs inside and they have plenty of outdoor seating as well. Staff was very friendly and kind. If you need to use the restroom the staff needs to put the code in for you.

Yelp
I really like the food at Dog Haus! You can get the sausages made as a bowl with all of the fixings, or on a sandwich with a yummy Hawaiian roll or a different type of bread. I'm from Wisconsin so I like the bratwurst as a bowl. In addition to the delicious food they have several local beers on tap and a full bar. Miguel is the bartender and server and is friendly and knowledgeable. He kindly made a mocktail for my partner and I had a hazy IPA. Nice local spot with everything you need plus parking!

Yelp
Dog Haus is providing to-go and delivery app service right now, but will soon open for indoor dining. In fact, they may have done so by the time you read this. Call or check their Instagram. When dining in, you can order at the kiosk or by QR code at the tables. If picking up, you also have the option of ordering by app. We had the Reservoir Hog Sausage and Sooo Cali Dog (both on King's Hawaiian Rolls) and Chili Cheese Tots. Everything was delicious. The chili was great, with a touch of heat, and no beans, just the way I like it. The toppings on the hot dog and sausage didn't overpower the meat and added a lot of flavor. I especially liked the sauce on the Cali dog. The tots were crisp and the cheese, chili, and scallions were perfect on top. We ordered fountain drinks, but there are plenty of alcoholic beverages to choose from. We received friendly and helpful service! There's usually plenty of street parking, but I appreciate that this has its own little parking lot.

Yelp
This review is all about Chris, the bartender exordinare. Not only did he handle all the drinks and orders, he was incredibly gracious to me and my special needs brother tonight. He was patient and still managed to handle a pretty full house all by himself. Everything was perfect. The chili cheese dog was fantastic. The cocktails were on point. He even got us extra ketchup and went out of his way to make sure we had all that we needed. We need more Chris in this world, seriously. Thanks for making our whole party feel so welcomed. We are definitely coming back and hope to come back to Chris' hospitality.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding I loved the ambiance and I plan to go back and try the chicken wings. They looked soooo good

Yelp
Went by a few days ago and saw that beer and cocktails are now back and available. Thumbs up.

Yelp
So we went on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty empty. We didn't realize we had to order from a Kiosk so we were waiting for a waiter beforehand. After we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly. My husband got a burger. I got a hotdog. We also got onion rings. The food was good. They have a small section where they have some things for kids to do/play with which I thought was nice. The place is light and airy, but one thing that caught us off guard was there was a bit of an off smell which was confusing because it was very open, airflow was able to get in very easily. My husband said it smelled like cigars? They do have parking which is nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible service, manager was extremely rude! There was zero hospitality, customer service was at an all time low.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
I went here for lunch on a weekday. Service was fast and food was good! I ordered the Cowboy which comes with the dog topped with bbq sauce, cheese sauce, bacon and fried onion on a Hawaiian roll. It was tasty and very filling! The place has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and even a mini parking lot. I can definitely see this place packed on a weekend or sports game night! I would love to try it again!

Yelp
I was looking for breakfast while in town and found this place. Their burritos are amazing. I had the impossible cali and Miguel was nice enough to give me a sample of the sauces they apparently make their from scratch. My favorite is the secret sauce and the chipotle Aioli. Glad I found this place. I will be back.

Yelp
I love a good hot dog, but usually only have them when I'm at the ballpark or a bbq. Although I miss the restaurant Stella Nonna in Berkeley, I was pretty excited to try the restaurant that moved into their old location - Dog Haus Biergarten. Specializing in elevated hot dogs, sausages, chicken, burgers/sliders, sides, and more, there's a little something for everyone here. I love the fun & creativity they have with a menu of possibilities that are a bit different than just ketchup or mustard. We tried a corn dog (made with a house made root beer batter), the SoooCali dog (avocado, tomato, crispy onions, spicy basil aioli, arugula), the Chili the Kid dog (white American cheese, Haus chili, crispy onions, chipotle aioli), and a side of onion rings & the Haus slaw. Everything was super flavorful, crispy, and comforting. They also have breakfast options (I heard their breakfast burritos are bomb), a kid's menu, vegan/vegetarian options, ice cream, and a pretty stellar craft beer (a lot of local brands) and cocktail menu. The restaurant itself has an open air concept, which is pretty cool. Feels like someone opened their garage to a beautiful hidden restaurant behind it. Service is quick and friendly, order at the counter. There is restaurant parking and metered parking outside. Overall, good value for nostalgic foods with a heightened twist. Looking forward to trying their burgers next!

Yelp
food was so good! casual spot and had the games on so we got to watch football! i got the cowboy and it was delish and the hot fries were seasoned well! customer service was great, highly recommend. i definitely will be back!

Yelp
We've had several fundraisers there for John Muir Elementary School. They've handled it well, though on occasion it felt as though they were slightly understaffed and underprepared for the crowd. The food and drinks are good, though the staff can feel a little brusque. Still, four stars for a solid place to get your dawg on.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Pi've seen the Dog Haus in Fremont but never gave them a try. I was looking for a place to watch the game that had enough seating for 7 ppl. The Dog Haus has a lot of seating but not too many big tables. The space inside is a little industrial with a makeshift outdoor area with seating. As for the food, I got the Downtown dog and chili fries. They both were good with a lot of toppings. But the bun was a sweet roll like a Hawaiian rolll so it fell apart easily and had to eat with a fork. Reasonably priced They have TVs everywhere to catch a game. Order at the counter and food will be brought to your table. They definitely need to hire more people up front as there is only one person handling orders and delivering food. Small parking lot Lot of beers on tap

Yelp
Walked in on a Thursday about noon. Never been to a Dog Haus before so I walked in and took a seat at the bar as I wanted to start with a beer. The gentleman working behind the bar was having a chat with a beer vendor that was there and i sat, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally after about 10 minutes, just as i was getting ready to walk out, the guy finally greeted me and asked if i wanted a beer. I wouldn't have minded the wait if they were busy, but it was literally me, the beer vendor, and one other guy, already eating, there, so the guy working just leaned on the counter talking instead of helping me. That aside, the interior is very nice with plenty of seating inside and out. Large beer menu and the lady working the register and running the food was kind, speedy and she made the business look good as opposed to the guy at the bar. I ordered the oldtown dog and it was pretty dang tasty. Good all beef dog, decent snap, toasted kings Hawaiian rolls for the bun and topped with smoked bacon, jalapenos, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli and cotija cheese. It came out picture perfect and gets about an 8.8 out of 10 on my hotdog scale (I am currently going around all the bay area, Sacramento area hotdog places hence the separate score for the dog).

Yelp
Friends of ours told us about this place so we went to check it out. It wasn't that busy so it was easy to get in. The white guy behind the bar was not so friendly during our stay. The place looked really good from all the renovations. We ordered a couple beers which tasted pretty good. They have a good amount of beers on tap which is good. We didn't try any fancy cocktails but the names looked really yummy. We ordered the chili cheese tots but got chili cheese fries. They were really good. We also ordered the Cowboy hot dog and the Hangover cheeseburger. The hot dog had great flavor, tender, juicy, the condiments for it was nice. The cheeseburger was cooked perfect, nice flavor, the rolls are different but a good change. Even though the service from the guy was just ok, I'd go back there again.

Yelp
After a rocky first visit I decided to come back to see if things improved. It's hard to compare since it was almost empty this second time (7:30 on a Saturday!) so wait times were no problem, but they really didn't have much else to do. Service was fine. The food was good. I liked the Sooo Veggie sausage. We ordered two sides- the onion rings and slaw were both really good. The Chili the Kid was very tasty. My husband said his sausage wasn't hot, though acceptable enough to eat. Not sure why this continues to be an issue (see last review). It's a nice hangout spot with a nice beer and drink selection. I hope they can bring in more business and stay open.

Yelp
We ordered online and took the food back to our hotel to enjoy. My wife had wings and I had a hamburger. The wings were heavily sauced and my wife said she would have preferred less sauce to not be overwhelmed. She said the quality was good however. I thought the burger was delicious. Surprisingly, it traveled to the hotel well. I ordered sweet potato fries but enjoyed so much of the burger I was too full to enjoy the fries. The few I tried were good but definitely would have been better before traveling to the hotel. I would try them again and focus on eating there and not getting it to go.
google avatar

Simone L.

Yelp
This smash burger is so good!! The Hawaiian roll bun was soft and sweet and the smash burger patty had those crispy lattice edges. We also got fries and onion rings which were also great! Would definitely come back here. They also have TVs so it would be a fun place to catch a game!
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
I'm always a little concerned when a place has this many beers on tap as I'd imagine they don't get turned over very frequently and I know from experience what a pain cleaning the beer lines can be. We tried a burger and a corn dog. Both were fine. I'm not a big fan of Hawaiian rolls for burger buns as it's a little too much bread for the meat ratio, but the flavors were good. I'll be back for the price point and the amount of TVs. It should be a solid spot to watch a game.

THOMAS J.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant many times and I've always enjoyed it. This last time was probably the best. I met the new owner and he seems like a really good guy. It was a pleasure getting to know him. The food, in my opinion, has always been very good and it was very good once again. They have hot dog buns now in addition to the Hawaiian rolls. The beer that I chose was very good. Excellent IPA! I'm looking forward to my next visit. YOU SHOULD GO TOO! You won't be disappointed I promise you.
google avatar

Helen W.

Yelp
Service was fast and food was good. I liked the Cal Dog better than the Reservoir Hog although both were good. We came during a late lunch so it was nice and quiet A good place for a quick bite and there were lots of beer selections.
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
Great beer and dogs! Discovered this place a few weeks ago. Mainly indoor seating and the have a patio outside. I had the T Mex sausage dog served on a Hawaiian roll. Also enjoyed a Racer 5. They have several local beer selections and other items than hot dogs and sausages. Cute little place and sits back off San Pablo. When we went, super friendly staff. Definitely worth a try. We'll be returning!

Yelp
Meant to update this review a while back. Came back and everything was on point from the hot dogs, fries, chicken tenders, drinks, service, and televised sports. I believe I got the Cali dog this time. Pretty laid back atmosphere. Nice place to enjoy happy hour or a game. Not too rowdy either so still family friendly. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great Staff! GREAT beer! GREATER food! Great, chill place to watch the game and get full!

Yelp
Don't miss out on this place ! I recently visited this spot after realizing that I had a location close to home . I frequent the Fremont location to load up on the Cajun breakfast burrito prior to heading to Levi's to watch the 49ers play. After realizing that there was a location in Berkeley / Albany area - I had to give it a try. The quality of food is great and definitely very filling. I plan to head out here on a Saturday night with a group of friends soon. The beer selection is limitless , and the overall location makes one feel like they are tucked away in a safe spot. The location is a must for sports watchers, there are TVs every direction that you face. Staff is tentative and willing to help out where necessary. The hangover burrito I had, hit the spot ! Loaded with tots, Cajun sausage, and egg - It kept me full all day. East bay - let's make sure to stop on by to try their delicious American food !
google avatar

Leon L.

Yelp
Delicious sliders and tater tots! I always order here late night if I want a quick bite. Mouthful of flavor and seasoning. Service has been slow every time I go, it seems like their staff is shorthanded.
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
Dog gone delicious!! I had a Sooo Cali. The spicyness of the aioli and onions were offset by the sweetness of the bun. My companions both had the Tex-mex. All were very tasty. We also had fries which were hot and crispy. The cashier was friendly and brought our food to our table. The restruant was clean and not crowded.
google avatar

K B.

Yelp
Really wanted to like it here. The good-- -There are a lot of micro brews. -The menu has a lot of interesting meat free choices. - a few parking places in the lot The bad -the were never any people working at the cash register or behind the counter. We kept trying to catch them but they'd come out of the back-- walk through the back room-- and then disappear in back. -my kid hated the corn dog. They said it tasted burnt -my impossible dog was shriveled and overcooked (I buy them at home so know how they come). Maybe it's precooked then cooked again? It was dry and gross. And the ingredients were an afterthought -- brown avocado, paltry greens and sauce. No person at counter to talk to so, did our best but left most there. -inside is super cold, really uncomfortable The neutral -the burritos have no beans, no options for that -it's on busy San Pablo and has a patio square outside with some regular tables-- so not a "garten" in the biergarten sense, and is not really an enclosed area

Yelp
This place has a really fun menu. They seem to really focus on quality ingredients and presentation. Place is really nice with a cool bar. Lots of beer options on tap. I had the Chili the Kid and tex Mex. The Tex has some good spice going on and the Chili was really good too. I will definitely be back with some friends so we can have some beers.

Yelp
Think of a dramatic gone dramatic... yes, that is exactly how I would describe my experience with Dog Haus. My partner and I decided to order in and wanted something different. We remembered this place from the delicious breakfast burritos and wanted to try other items. This eatery offers options from Hamburgers, hotdogs, breakfast burritos, and the list goes on. We decided on hot dogs. I ordered the Sol Cal ( arugula, Aoli sauce, avocado, and tomato on a sweet Hawaiian roll). It was so delicious with the sweet and savory balance. My partner ordered the Downtown. Let's just say we very much enjoyed our food. We would love to visit the establishment and try more food items.

Yelp
We were cold, wet, and hungry after playing at Albany Bulb with our dog. We found the Dog Haus (seemed appropriate for a play date with Goose) and wandered in. They have garage style roll up doors that give a casual feel. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and they're dog-friendly. We arrived during happy hour, so we were able to order from that menu. Their fried chicken sandwich is awesome. Crunchy, flavorful, and juicy. We had an 18 year old young man with us, and he can eat! We got out with spending less than $50 for three of us, and we were all full.
google avatar

Nery L.

Yelp
The burger was amazing! And the service was so friendly. It's got a sports bar vibe but it wasn't loud or anything when I was there so it was nice. The tater tots were really good too. Perfectly crispy. Will come back for these delicious burgers.

Yelp
Outdoors is always the best when it is nice and warm. I enjoyed the food however, we found it disappointing that the bread fell apart relatively quick. They use something similar to brioche or Hawaiian bread. It's good, but the bread falls apart. Best was pairing it with a beer. We were unable to find utensils and had to ask up front. I feel like they should provide this since the bread falls apart and you find eating with your fingers.

Yelp
I hate to give this location of Dog Haus anything less than 5 stars because my partner and I have loved them since they opened. Love the food and beer selection, the location is great, and the people working here have always been kind. My issue is that over the last few months the restrooms have progressively gotten kinda gross. The maintenance issues are very off putting to me because this is a spot where everything we eat is hand held and pretty messy. They used to be really clean, with a wall mounted soap dispenser, and nicely stocked with paper towels in addition to the air dryer (which is strangely mounted by the toilet above the TP holder). Now they have extremely watered down soap in store bought bottles on the side of the sink, and no paper towels. I know this must be a tough strip in terms of people coming in to use (and probably mess up) the restrooms from time to time. I would rather have to get a code, a key, or a coin to use the restroom and have them be back to being nice. We used to come in several times a month and now we're down to once a month when I really want that holy aioli burger. I will update this review to the 5 star one that I want to be able to give if their bathrooms are fixed up!

Yelp
Its a solid spot and one of the few places that fry their fries in a separate vat for food allergy concerns. Only issue is they are currently temporarily closed.

Yelp
Dog Haus has done a wonderful job with the old Stella Nonna space. The front section in front of the parking lot is mostly open so it has an airy indoor/outdoor feel, and there's also a small patio off to the side. The menu is huge and fairly overwhelming. You have to choose between hot dogs, sausages, fried chicken or burgers (or sliders!)...and then within each of those sections, there are another 4-6 other options. I went with the Nashville hot chicken sandwich which was wow, spicier than I expected. Really tasty and a very generous portion. My dining companion ordered The Fonz, and the bit I tried was delicious. There are also multiple sides to choose from, and I got the chili cheese tater tots. YES! In addition to the extensive food menu, they also have an extensive beer and cider menu...and a few other option for non-beer, non-cider drinkers including "frose" and frozen margaritas. There are lots of TVs so sports fans of all types should be able to find something to watch. Dog Haus is a great option for drinks and food, and I can't wait to return to try more menu items.

Yelp
This is a fun place to go for really yummy burger and fries. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating. High chairs too! Dog friendly outdoor. I really enjoyed my holy aioli burger and the tots with chili and slaw. Their chili was fantastic, I would definitely get the tots again, very crispy even under chili. My husband is still in shock how big his chicken sandwich was. I was extremely appreciative of the clerk who subbed impossible meat for my kids' meal, as they are a vegetarian. I'm pretty sure ever entree was under $15, sides not included. Sides are big enough to share. Drinks were great and very reasonably priced, most cocktails were $12. I would definitely try some of their long list of brews. It was a little messy, many tables needing to be bussed, but I chalked it up to short staffing and a busy day. I'm not holding it against them, but if this is a turn off for you, maybe come during a down hour. Bathroom was very clean. Everyone we interacted with was very nice. I would absolutely go back

Yelp
Decent food, but crap service. Seems like limited staffing. Usually 1 person serving the whole place which is crazy. Last incident even gave them an extra 10 min on my online order due time because they had been running late. After me and the guest in front of me are ignored by all staff for 8 min we are finally checked in on. (order time now 8 min past due time). When I am finally seen I show them my phone for the online order. Guy goes back in to check on it, then asks to see my phone again, then starts writing the order down. I ask, "has the order not been started yet?". It was not. I asked to cancel my order considering I was on a 30 min lunch break had already been ignored for 8 of those minutes and cooking time would probably be another 10. Guy said he couldn't cancel it. Said I needed to call my credit card company. Coworker was told me his orders have been 28 min late, so he now eats at Chipotle instead. Worked in food industry. Pretty sketchy that he couldn't cancel the order hadn't been started yet. Most restaurants I know would keep a log, (ie charging a customer for chicken, but not actually putting it in the order). Not the best customer service.

Yelp
FYI, if you order the tenders, they are not the usual tender you get anywhere. They are juice and almost like mini chickens with how big they are. Portions are hefty... In the old Stella Nonna location off Page and San Pablo, Dog Haus is a much-welcomed Biergarten (beer garden) addition to the many others in Berkeley (we have a lot). In terms of drinks, they have a fully stocked bar with hard liquors, beer(on top and bottles), and hard seltzer. I opted for some takeout as I was meeting up with friends, the staff is welcoming and the amount of food that was ordered came out timely and was not cold. I ordered a duo of corn dogs (regular and spicy) both were delicious. The batter, I am told has root beer in it, so there is a slight sweetness that I was not used to. Additionally, it is more dog than batter and they are made in-house, so be ready for a big dog (think Costco but better). Order a side of tater tots (will order cheese on top, next time I dine in), along with a chili dog and it was perfect. Please make sure to have time for a food nap afterward. There are also chicken sandwiches, burgers, and mini corndogs, and most important try their chipotle honey, which went with everything.

Yelp
I've been back twice in less than a week. First visit, we got a combo kids meal that had a hogdog slider and corn dog slider. The fries and juice box came with it. I got a dog with bbq sauce and it was amazing. Very good sweet potato fries that had the perfect soft and crunch ratio. Spouse got a stout, I got a sprite, and we also got takeout last night since we live around the corner and didn't want to cook. I got the chicken tenders kids meal for myself and a little slider. It was perfect for not being too hungry. Spouse got a sausage corn dog situation. Everyone there was super nice, helpful, and excited to share info with us. They ask if it's your first time dining with them when you go to order. It's an order first then sit type of establishment. There's not too many outdoor seats but enough that we easily nabbed one. There's more seating inside and a long bar you can sit at where that opening in the front is kinda. My spouse was just saying that the coolest thing about this place is the variety of beer they have but it's not advertised that much! So, now you know. Also they were so flipping cute someone came out and gave my little one a sticker (which he promptly lost) but we all felt super special! Thanks for the great service, y'all!!!

Yelp
Not surprised this location closed. It was always a s#%t show every time I went in. Slow service, rude female employee behind the counter. Super disorganized. I emailed this business once to ask about their ingredients since one in our party couldn't eat certain meat, and never got a response back. Stars for the amazing cider and the food, when we finally received it, was good (although sometimes cold).
