Have been here multiple times while my car is in the shop, and they've let me charge my devices while drinking beer. Polite and honest, thank you, folks, recommended.

Thank you to most of the night shift after dark bartenders, A lovely young woman her name start with a D, a tall gentleman dresses with a tie and a smiles. The woman Steffany should could do be better but she isn't horrible neither. Met the manager owner Larry Laroo. Keel up the great work great drinks great times greats ervice. We will keep coming back. It works!

If you're looking for an awesome dive bar, I cannot recommend this enough. We stopped in just because of the way it looked on the outside. Great prices, although they may want to stock at least a Chardonnay for the ladies. Definitely plan to come back again.

Small local dive bar, as old and worn as the very nice bartender. No kitchen, but you can get food from the BBQ joint next door, if it's open. About 6-8 taps, with a couple of craft beers. Seemed to have a decent selection of hard stuff. When I was there, they did have free hot dogs...

Absolutely marvellous! I’m from London , I bumped into this pub on my last day in the Bay Area. Great friendly people & bar tender is absolute gentlemen. Pop in to this pub if you are in this neighbourhood for some drinks!

Met the bartender, her husband, and her brother. All were so warm and inviting. Good people with good vibes. Next time I’m in San Francisco I’ll be coming back here. 🍻

I don't really like to give poor reviews but this place really deserved. I went yesterday around 730 pm I was there for about 1:30hr. Order first round tequila shot, then a margarita and was 36 bucks no problem here after the lady Nicol was closing everyone at the bar bc she was leaving then came someone named Darcy and with her I Order 2 colors and charged me with $42 and when I confront her about the price she told I drink 3 beers. Wich was completely wrong I always count what I drink for same reason like this. Besides all this she pushed me out of the bar bc I told her to correct the amount. 2. Is that the tequila I drink was casa amigo blanco (usually drink the bc it tastes smooth) and I will highly say that was not the right tequila I ordered. (Diferent taste, and it's alcohol taste was like one of the cheapest they have. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO VISIT THIS PLACE AT ALL.

Classic "dive bar" in the best use of the term. Very good bartenders. Always full of regulars. Even has nice clean restrooms. Good on Game days.

Loved the bartender more than one but 2 night time ones a lovely courteous pretty female her name starts with a D. & there is a tall gentleman has dark hair dresses stylishly with a tie usually. He is super cool makes great drinks too, great taste in music, fun & funny. Thank you to those nights with great 2 persons working behind the counter at the bar. They keep in clean, calm cool collected & safe and sane. Love it!!!

After just under a two straight years living in my apartment, my bestie and I decided a few days ago to finally go out to a bar and have some drinks and socialize! A former favorite of ours is the Dog House, so we returned and had such a great time! The customers are super friendly, half drunk, and seem to really enjoy the drinks, the food, and the music. You can order food right at the bar, it is prepared at the restaurant next door (a popular fish and chips joint with great fare) where it is then cooked up and served piping hot right in front of you... And it is always extremely tasty! Prices are very consistent with other great dive bars in the area.

This place goes through changes. At least the bartenders are still good. The problem now lies with supplies. Is it too much to ask for a bag of nuts with a beer? The fish and chips place is open next store- but not on weekends when there would be a pile of folks ordering food. Plus- they advertised bar b Que for Niners games. Well that lasted about a month. That would require Larry to get his butt off the bar stool and actually order some food. One time I asked on the day of the Niners game- " are you guys doing a bar b Que?" The response was Larry forgot to take the meat out of the freezer. I can tell you this there are 5 times as many people In the place when they do a bar b Que! I hope the owner is reading this!!!

We were in town for a conference and looked up local dive bars. It was perfect for us...good people...not pretentious and good prices on drinks of course. The best part was our bartender, Austin. Always a good time to sit in a dive bar and have an intellectual conversation while drinking. If you don't like dive bars...find a fancy place. If you want a community atmosphere with good conversation and good drinks, this is your place.

My husband and I traveling through through the bay area had the great luck finding this fabulous bar. Our bartender not only made a fantastic Manhattan but was a great host. I wish I got his name. We so enjoyed our conversation about cooking a great steak. It was so refreshing to be around real people in such a fake world. Thank you to our wonderful bartender. I hope you get your Bronco fixed!

Eh. It's a classic dive - mediocre selection of beers, fine mixed drinks, I wouldn't go for wine or cocktails. Staff was friendly but this spot doesn't really have much to write home about.

Great food. Best burgers I've had in while and the sasauges were also very tasty. Large selection of beers. Cool atmosphere! I dont normally dine in the same place twice in a week but this place was so good I had to have it again. :)

Great place to hang out , great people, and great staff. They always are giving great service and care about their customers.

Reasonably priced drinks. Overall, it's an acceptable dive bar close to home, usually with a mellow mature crowd except for the occasional blabbering drunk. Bartenders: Austin is good company. Deborah is a little morose. Nicole runs hot to cold. Darcy is nice. The music machine costs a ridiculous $1 per song, and frequently cigarette smoke rolls in from outdoors.

Still the best dive bar on the planet. Well the Sly Mongoose in Lahaina takes the cake but on the mainland this place is the bomb. Larry Ritchey Nicole Deb Austin the best. Just make sure a grumpy old lawyer is not there. Love this place!!!

As one poster wrote; "I call it a cesspool for drugs, drunks, down-and-out losers and fat out of shape broads and if there are any broads in shape they suffer from blackened or missing teeth. Beer was the only thing safe here since I order one in a bottle which had a cap on it. Thank God!! Went to the bathroom and since when do two guys occupy a stall? Hence my point. Bathroom smelled like piss and I'm sure no ones taken a mop to it in ages. Little somewhat hole in the wall as for size, maybe the reason why it's called the "Doghouse". I think it's called that because the broads that frequent this joint, look like friggin DOGS!!! The guys look like de-generates that don't have a job or look like they couldn't hold one." You wanna get street cred in one easy step? Take your date to this place and she will be on you like flies on sh!t and think you are the coolest thing since cavemen invented fire. Just roll up in your most beat down vehicle and swager on in this place. For even more street cred take the bus here. Dont judge a book by its cover. The patrons are fun and friendly (inverse to the tooth count, less teeth = more friendly) I fit in with the patrons, the bartender looks as though he has been pouring drinks since Jesus was a regular and boy does he know how to pour! Dont bother asking for a double, you'll be on the floor before you will be done with your drink. Remember when people used to go to the bars to drink and not as some sort of fashion accessory? Me neither, but this place harks back to those days. Five out of five bishes!

It meets all of your needs for a dive bar. Cheap drinks, friendly bartenders (just don't be a jerk), and a ton of good locals. If you are passing through on a flight, drop by and say hi, people will want to hear about your travels.

Dog house is a great Community bar. They have regular airport workers and airport Flyers, Very Fair drink for Price, great bartenders, very old school very comfortable, would have no problem with my wife coming here alone very safe.

I can't believe I've driven by here so many times thinking it was a shady, rough bar. It has a definite dive no-frills look from the outside, but the inside is actually rather clean and nice! As the last reviewer said, the bartender offered him chili. Well when I went, one of the patrons brought pretzels and bugels to share with everybody. This is definitely a FRIENDLY place in an odd way! Everybody was keeping to themselves, but you could feel a definite warmth about this place. They have the MOST interesting condom machine in the men's bathroom. It is a MUST see... They offer such delights as the French Tickler and Pandora's Box. You have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. There is only Budweiser and Miller Lite on tap which doesn't really bug me that much - it's dirt cheap and cold. The hard alcohol selection is pretty diverse. There's an old school cigarette machine by the front door (you never see those anymore) and that's really it. This is a place you go to get trashed in anonymity. Nobody I know (and I've lived in San Bruno all my life) has been inside except me. I'll definitely be back too!

You take a seat and they have a bunch of chotchkeys to keep your eyes occupied while you decide what you want to drink. Kinda funny that they actually sell cartons of eggs. I guess it's for the guys who tell their wives they are "going to the store" to pick up some eggs but actually come here, knock back a few cold ones then bring the eggs home as a cover. Slick. Nice little hole in the wall! Beers cold and cheap! Service was great and friendly! Krissy was awesome I actually came in waiting on food from next door. Glad I did! Close to home, cheap and watch sports!

If a bar doesn't open at 6am it's worthless. This is a decent dive. Not the same since the "Bear" sold out. Lost a lot of the regular crusties. But never the less it's cool. Now get your drink on!

When I was a kid I used to shine shoes at this bar it's a great place and people have always been friendly to me. I remember English Anne who use to work at the fish store across the street use to frequent there and there was a bartender named Barry and he was a classic big old Italian bartender in the nicest guy who knew my stepdad Louis Giovannini. I do miss all those old birds in the doghouse. It was like Boston's "'" - but in the Bay Area.

Excellent place to stop and have drinks. Always down for a dive bar and hanging with Locals and friend. Will be back for more drinks and play Star Wars pinball

Decent little dive on the El Camino. Working class, middle aged, biker clientele. Four big TVs. Free popcorn. Dart board. Video golf.

Missed a connecting flight at SFO? My boyfriend & I missed our connection to SEATAC due to weather delay, causing an overnight with nowhere to stay but airport. Wanting to kill 8 hours time outside of the airport, we found the Dog House on Google Maps. A quick LYFt ride away, the bartender Austin (Awesome Austin) cordially served strong drinks, played awesome music on jukebox, AND awesomely made our layover better than hanging out at airport with nothing to do.

DIVE BAR!!! The girlfriend and I decided to pop in for a drink just because of the name last Saturday night while staying in the area for the weekend. We stumbled upon a cast of barflys hunched over their very strong cocktails. The bartender was classic! She was hammered! Leather-faced, big boobs sounded like she gargled with razor blades. Anyways, we ended up people watching and playing the (horrible) juke box all night. Nobody bothered us and the people were nice enough. The crowd got much younger as the night went on. I wouldn't want the gf to go there by herself, but it was a harmless enough place to knock down a few stiff ones. Not for you if you appreciate clean surroundings or beautiful people!

I've been to this bar a few times now. Each time has been a few months apart and out of the blue. The bartender and people in the bar have always been incredibly nice to me. Also I've enjoyed the music being played. I can understand the other reviewer's response regarding being served after waiting 8 minutes. Each time I have gone to The Doghouse, I have had to wait as well. BUT BUT BUT I must say... that I think when entering a bar, its not the bartender's responsibility to immediately serve someone new coming in. Sounds like the bartenders was busy with a full bar and a person needs to have PATIENCE! Once I was served everything was great.

Awesome little dive bar the Bartenders Audrey and Diem are awesome. If you are a commuter like me it's a great little spot to relax the night before a flight back home. It is my stop the day bedore I fly home. Happy Hour beer at 2.50 everyday.

I have no clue why they call it the dog house but the bars is really cool. I went out with my friends jus to hang out see whats up and the place turn out ot be great . Got some margaritas and jhoneslty they really know how to make good margaritas ! defnitely planning to come back here for them

Was visiting my son from the South Bay Area and looked up dive bars. Thought this was a good spot to try. Walked in and stood at the bar for a while. The female bartender walked passed me several times then finally acknowledge me. I could understand if it was busy, but it was not at all. Looked like a bunch of locals. We had one drink and left. This is not the place if you're not a local.

Aside from the smell of emphysema in the air, this is one of the better dive bars I've been to. By "better", I mean that you won't find a dead rat in the bathroom trash can or have your clothes reek of Lysol when you leave because the permanent stench of vomit was desperately trying to be covered up. Not that I regularly hang out at dive bars ('cuz I'm a classy bitch, you know), but if my friends held me hostage and forced me to go to the Doghouse with them again, I think I'd be alright with it (minus smelling like a walking ashtray).

I've noticed this place along with some others in the area are really dying with showing welcome. The entertainment here has gotten lame and jeez lil uptight eh. The bathrooms oh man, what happened to them?? I use porto pottys at work and the bathrooms at this bar are worse. This place is quite, they do have a golf video game tho. Ha these people need to loosen up if they want more customers. I've had alot of complaints about me here for just having a good ol time. There shouldn't be anything wrong with that. They just don't like people being happy here.

Cheep drinks, cheep food close by, free popcorn and a great daytime bartender. She was nice and made my friend and I feel welcome. If I'm in town I would definitely go back. :)

I went here with my friends on 5-13-14 10:30pm'sh. We knew Amanda will be throwing her karaoke gig and want to check it out since we live nearby. The bartender is friendly and we ordered langunitas ipa $4 each and also stone ipa (what happened was the lagunitas ipa was sold out and bartender gave us stone ipa beers--surprisingly this one had a good flavor. My friend also ordered the tequila shots for me, my friends and Amanda. I was tipsy and was able to sing at least two songs. In addition, I recognized some one here and few others, yes it's a small world

This is mainly a dive bar for regulars but we decided to stop by here for an after work happy hour. The bartender doesn't exactly exude friendliness, but the drinks are fairly stiff and darn cheap. They don't have a lot to offer as far as premium stuff. Only Bud and Bud light on tap and only a couple of basic bottled beers. Average selection of hard stuff. Can't argue with the price though. Well drinks are about $3 and brand is under $5. And in this economy,, every little bit helps.

Whenever I want to get shitfaced with men who are older than my grandfather, I come to the Doghouse. I used to live very close by and it was convenient. Don't expect to come here and order fancy beers on tap like Blue Moon. Get a cheap ass beer that will give you a hangover and just drink. Look at the crowd. This will be you in a few years. If you don't like Doghouse you have no soul.

Went one afternoon and got lit for cheap. Locals all friendly enough. Bartender did a few shots with me, she was cute. Decent juke box. Definitely a drinking persons bar. If you are pretentious, don't go there because you won't like it (stay at your glam bar, over pay and wait to get in).

I went to the Doghouse Bar on El Camino on a recent Sunday night. While minding my own business, the boyfriend of the female bartender kept staring at me from the end of the bar. I asked him why and without hesitation he stormed at me. I tried to protect myself but was punched in the side of the head and fell. I got up and he ran to a back room possibly to a back exit. Not knowing if he was getting a weapon, I left immediately. Please do not support this business and its new owners. CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN!!

I've driven past this bar many times not knowing if they were ever open. The bar has no windows, so it was a little intimidating walking in for the first time. As I pulled the door open everyone's head turned to me and my girlfriend. We walked up to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks from the bartender. He told us that he cooked some chili earlier and we were welcome to some. We had a little bit with some tortilla chips, the chili was actually really good. The doghouse is a no frills bar, there are a couple of arcade games, no pool table, jukebox and a cigarette machine. This is a place that you go to drink, because really that's all there is to do there. They have two tvs which are usually tuned to sports. The beer selection there is lacking, they only have two beers on tap, bud and miller lite, but they have quite a selection of booze. This is a perfect spot to go for a drink and remain completely anonymous, I'll definitely be back.

Pretty quiet little dive bar; not great selection and not much bang for my buck and pretty likely that if I was a regular it would get better since it seemed people come back.

Great ambiance. I could come back anytime. Doghouse is kind of what it is exactly titled, a no-nonsense drinking hole with no extra guff. In contrast to the external appearance, you would be surprised by the clean and neat setup inside. In addition, the atmosphere is somewhat folksy as the patrons are laid back and easy going, and will even whip something up for you if they feel like sharing. Drinks are moderately priced. Not a good place for a date, but right for blowing off some steam with the friends.

Several of us were in Millbrae last night for a meeting. Afterwards, we decided to find a place for a drink and found the Doghouse. We had an absolute BLAST!!! Rup, you ROCK! The bartender was, Rup, was very friendly as were the locals who were there. They welcomed us and made us feel quite at home! I can't wait for the chance to stop by again! Thanks, Everyone!

If your looking for a place to get a decent pour, fair price, and no damn yuppies trying to impress themselves, then this bar is for you. Ya, it's aged and a little dirty. What 50 year old bar isn't? Friendly partons, good bartender, and perhaps the namesake dog chilling on the floor. Perfect! Personally, my friends and I are from out of the area. We work the Outlands show in Golden Gate Park every year and stay at the Howard Johnson's half-a-block away so we can unwind here after a long day of rock-n-roll. Great ol' fashion watering hole...

My Lady and I stopped in one night for a drink last year while on vacation visiting the bay. Cheap beer and drinks which are pretty much all alcohol and a splash of whatever nonalcoholic mixer that goes in it. Kinda reminded us of our hometown bar. Stopped in again this past weekend on our annual trip to the bay and besides a few new flat screen TVs and jukebox upgrade which were nice, it was good to see not much had changed. The bartender Rupert makes u feel welcome, very cool. He even went out of his way to come around the bar and relocate some long winded chit chatty dude with a good buzz who was over staying his welcome at our table and promised to knock him out if the guy came back and bothered us. YOU'RE THE MAN RUPE! Good low key place to stop in for a drink and relax. Cant wait to stop in the next time I'm in the area.
