All time tsukemen

Things I want to try in Tokyo
Dōgenzaka Mammoth

After a long day trip to Mt. Fuji, I arrived back in Shibuya tired, hungry, and freezing — and Dogenzaka Mammoth was exactly what I needed. Just a short walk from Shibuya Mark City, it’s the perfect place to warm up and recharge. Their tsukemen is exceptional. The noodles are thick, bouncy, and incredibly satisfying, but the real star is the broth infused with yuzu skin. The moment you dip the noodles in, the rich, savory flavor is lifted by that bright, citrus aroma. It’s comforting and refreshing at the same time — the kind of broth that wakes you up from the inside and melts away the cold. The meats and toppings are generous, and every element feels carefully crafted. It’s the kind of bowl that makes you pause for a moment because it’s just that good. Warm shop, friendly staff, amazing tsukemen — Dogenzaka Mammoth is the perfect stop in Shibuya, especially when you need something cozy, hearty, and unforgettable. Highly, highly recommended.

It’s hard to overcome this standard of tsukemen. Strongly recommend noodles and tsukemen lovers to visit this store when you’re in Shibuya. After you’re finished you can add some soup to the remaining gravy and have a hearty soup. Very brilliantly made and prepared.

Although i went at 530pm or so, i still had to wait about 5 to 10 minutes. This tsukemen place is just that popular. However, it’s one of the best i’ve had. I never seem to have enough dipping broth, so i was so happy that Mammoth gives free refills of the broth. And when i finished my noodles, i poured in the “スープ割り” and finished drinking it (which i rarely do). Highly highly recommended

For fans of thick and rich Ganja-style tsukemen shops like Rokurinsha, Tomita or Fuunji. Always seems to be full but never long waits. Soup very filling and balanced with sweetness. Spicy is decently spicy! Two types of noodles are offered but it seems that everybody chooses the chewier wheat noodle.

Had the Rich Tsukemen at Dogenzaka Mammoth — slightly fishy at first but totally grew on me. Fantastic service and perfect for introverts: order from the vending machine, eat, enjoy, done. 🍜

We ordered thru machine, Noodle came in big portion with genereous size of pork. There was free soup stock in a jar, that we can add coz the gravy was pretty thick. But I thought it was a TEA, so i poured in a glass and drank it!!!! There were people queing outside as well. Food was delicious!!!

Hands down one of the best tsukemen we've ever had in Tokyo. Fish-based dipping noodles that are thick with awesome bite. Not too chewy but just enough to be a pleasure to eat. We have a favorite tsukemen place that's very similar near where we live and this place is undoubtedly better. Recommended by my wife's brother, really glad we checked it out the next time we were in Shibuya. As the noodles are awesome, I'd recommend upgrading for extra noodles (oomori) for JPY 50. Well worth it. They'll ask you to pick from two noodle types. They'll recommend the one on the right called daihyoumen, make sure you go for that. The dipping soup base comes with really good chashu pork slices as well as menma (bamboo shoots). I'd also get an egg as well which was pretty good. The soup itself is thick with a strong fish base and a noticeable lemon zest to cut through it a bit. Price is reasonable for the high quality and being near to the center of Shibuya. If you're any kind of Japanese noodle fan and looking for a local favorite, definitely try this place. You may need to wait outside around peak times, it was full when we first arrived on a rainy day.

One of the restaurants that made it onto my "places to revisit" list if I ever return to Tokyo. Thick and flavorful broth, chewy noodles, and super friendly staff. One of the best tsukemen I've ever had!
