Ordered a bunch of dogs to share. There were definitely some stand out favorites and some others that could have done without certain toppings. I’d say the build your own would be the way to go, but they seem to really skimp on the toppings when you do it that way. Definitely cannot be compared to Hot Doug’s as they don’t make their own, and some of the dogs stand out as being better than others. Stop in and try it for yourself!!

***OPEN UNTIL 2AM ON FRI/ SAT*** Pros: Super delicious! Three different vegan dog choices. My partner also enjoyed his meat dog. Fries are amazing! Would never know they're not fried. Buns were well proportioned. Great staff. Cons: Slow. Expect 10-15 for your food. Interior could be better decorated. Cost. A little on the expensive side.

Really enjoyed the Guinness dog and the bacon cheddar ranch fries. The Nola and Armitage dogs weren’t my taste but still served an interesting twist that I’m sure many would enjoy. Can’t say enough good things about the Guinness though, really unique combination that is SO delicious. Super friendly service, cheery and clean interior. Little slow on food prep time but confident that will improve once they’ve been up and running a bit longer. Check it out!

DAT DOG ‘s down in New Orleans is truly hard to beat! These here are really tasty sausages, it’s the overall that isn’t quite as satisfying. Agreeing with other comments about the bun, it’s too big and too chewy. Good bread with a toss on the griddle would help huge! Kick up the flavor in the sauces for a wow!!! We’ll try again soon😋

I will be back to try more. Had the smoked Louisiana hot, which was good. The Chicago dog was a disaster with too much space and bread (also a literal pile of chopped tomatoes) on a toasted/pressed bun. This establishment certainly seems to have chosen the sandwich side of the "is a hot dog a sandwich debate". Seems to work for the other dogs, but the Chicago dog is a real clunker. Will be back to try more of their signature options. Expect to spend at least $10 here for lunch for one.

This is a great addition to our neighborhood, but they will have to up their game a bit. The andouille gravy fries is flavorless - it tastes like old, dried herbs that have been in the cupboard too long. The fries themselves have great texture. Vegan dog options use Field Roast sausages which are mediocre. It will serve them well to upgrade to Beyond Meat brand sooner than later. Field Roast will likely keep vegan/vegetarians from coming back. Their bun game was an A+. I hope they up their game a bit so they stay around for a while.

I love hot dogs and I love New Orleans food so I'm pretty much the guy this place was made for. I tried the NOLA Dog and the Andouille sauce fries. The NOLA Dog is Crawfish dog topped with étouffée, sour cream, Creole mustard, onions and tomatoes. They panini the buns. It was tasty and quite evocative of a plate of Crawfish étouffée. There were nice little chunks of andouille sausage in the sauce my fries were topped with giving it a gentle heat. I do wish the fries were a bit crispier. Overall, not a bad place to go when you're missing Hot Doug's.

My review will be a bit harsher than most given that I will compare it do Dat Dog located throughout New Orleans (same owner, almost the same menu). Cons: 1.) The etouffee is downright atrocious. I may be from Chicago and did not grow up eating the stuff, but I've lived in SE Louisiana for the past eight years and have gotten to know what it's suppose to be. This stuff was like the Blue Runner can without water added in. It was fluffy, tasteless, and brownish-yellow in color. It made the etouffee fries taste like garbage, which is upsetting because that has the potential to be the best thing on the menu. 2.) The Louisiana Smoke Dog was tough and almost impossible to take a clean bite out of. It had almost no taste. Perhaps it was overdone? I could barely finish it. 3.) Very slow service. I understand it's a relatively new restaurant and slow service is to be expected, but damn. It took almost a full 20min to get our entire order, and some of it wasn't accurate. Pros: 1.) The Alligator dog was amazing. It had the texture, taste, and smell that alligator sausage really has. If you go, I highly recommend you at least order this one. 2.) The crawfish dog itself is damn good. It would have been excellent if the etouffee had been up to par as well. 2.) The employee attitudes were on point, especially the Australian/New Zealander(?) runner. They're all friendly and tried very hard to get everything corrected with our order. 3/5 because I know the potential is there. This owner is responsible for a place where I have not had a bad dog yet. I hope this was just an off day, but I fear that's not the case.
