"Dogwood is a solid pub with very good cocktails and live music almost every night. They have a great selection of beers from upstate New York, and their very good cocktails include an expert Bloody Mary and the Dogwood Rita. If (when) you get hungry, you can also get pub food like a pimento grilled cheese or a stacked burger with bacon, jalapeno, and barbecue sauce." - Team Infatuation

"One of a couple neighborhood bars where you can really feel the chill Beacon vibe, this one is studded with locals hunkered in their booths, or tipping back a few local on-tap drafts. You’ve got 16 taps on draft, solid cocktails but nothing fancy, and wine from California, France, and Italy, for the most part (We’d go with a pint). You're wanting a burger, some wings, jumbo stuffed tater tots, a pint, and some gossip. This place has all of it." - Alex Van Buren, Devra Ferst, Andrea Whittle

Great pub! Nice beer selection, nice crowd and atmosphere! I was alone so I ate the bar. Nice menu, different, way better than the standard pub food! I lucked out with live music, no cover!

A old fashioned hipster bar with real atmosphere. The kind of vibe you want to see in this kind of establishment. Add food and music … what more do you want ?

Cool spot. Live music sometimes. Solid drinks list (beers and hard liquor). The food is...ehhh. I ordered a medium hamburger and got a well done brick. My friend's panko chicken was fried to death. Come for the booze.

Gosh! This delightfully fine establishment served me what must have only been my second ever pickle back that I have consumed upon my travels within the United States of America. It was definitely in the top two of the pickle backs I have ever had, and so henceforth I would like to commend this fine bar for their beverages, service and general good atmosphere which made for a jolly old time.

Have never had a bad experience here. Good drinks, great rotating beers, excellent staff. Might have to go to Tokyo to find better wings.

I read a review of Dogwood about new and popular places in beacon to try. I saw a mediocre food menu, interesting cocktail menu, and live music offering so I expected a dive bar vibe. What I got was a tragically hip bar pretending to be a dive. The bartender was rude to my party because we had a table and told us that our server would be over to take our order because they didn't want to overload the bar and kitchen. It was 7pm on a Friday night with no discernable rush and it was 3 people. We each ordered a drink but substitutions had to be made because they didn't have components for the drinks. Between lackluster drinks, annoyed servers, and a general blah atmosphere I can't recommend this place as a go to destination. It's a stop on a pub crawl at best

Didn’t actually eat here, we were looking for live music and the manager told us they didn’t have any tonight but then gave us 4 or 5 recommendations in town to try. Goated customer service. Definitely coming here when we’re back in town

Nice local bar with great beer selections. Usually they have some interesting band playing there too, mostly weekends. I haven't tried the food, so this rating is based solely on the selection, beer, and atmosphere. Much nicer than many other bars.
