I ordered the Hot Stone Bibimbap and it’s one of my favorite bibimbaps in NYC — perfectly seasoned and the serving is not overwhelming. This place is a perfect date spot. The atmosphere is cozy, service is efficient, and the food is memorable. Been here twice with my husband and once with a group of friends and it never disappoints. Parking in the neighborhood is hard to find though, so plan ahead.

I tried Korean BBQ for the first time and it was such an enjoyable experience incredibly delicious! Korean BBQ actually reminded me a bit of döner kebab. It was really amazing. I had a great time, and the prices were reasonable too. You should definitely give it a try ,you won’t regret it!

Came here (again) with my partner for dinner and had the loveliest birthday dinner. Been coming here for years and have never been let down by the food or service at Dokebi. Sensational restaurant and super reasonably priced. Love it here so very much! Everyone who works here is so kind too.

The right balance of great service and dining experience makes Dokebi a great choice for dinner with family or friends. Loved the selection of Korean BBQ options (we tried many) and the spin on a margarita was a great addition. Go with the thinly sliced beef as the cooking is a little easier to manage but highly recommend Dokebi!

This authentic Korean cafe is a real find! The food here is absolutely delicious—the Bibimbap and fried chicken are particularly outstanding. The flavors are spot on, and you can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. The only thing that caught me off guard was that they didn’t have my favorite Korean drink, Milkis, which I was looking forward to. But honestly, the quality of the food more than made up for it. If you’re craving authentic Korean cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back for sure, but hopefully, they’ll have Milkis next time!

i loveeed the bibimbap and soon dubu stew. get the stone bowl bibimbap if you can, as you get the yummy crispy rice at the bottom! portions were perfect, banchan was just enough and delicious and they also have n/a beer which i appreciated. huge shout out to our server ethan, who went above and beyond, and was always one step ahead of us getting us things we needed before we even asked for them 🌟 thank you dokebi, we will be back 🌸

Meat quality wasn't shabby but the cuts that are marinated could definitely use more flavor. The cuts of meat weren't evenly cut. Overall you'd probably have a better experience in ktown but sometimes you have to settle if you don't want to wait and don't want to make the trek out. Banchan - 50% delicious and the other half were just ok. Unlimited refills!

I think this place scratches a very specific niche. Which is, if you are spontaneously craving korean bbq but can't find someone to go to AYCE with you or you don't have the stomach to do AYCE by yourself, and you're too lazy to go to H mart to make kbbq at home (aka I'm describing myself), this place is perfect. You have the option to cook the bbq yourself or have them do it- there's a couples items where they can't do it for you so keep that in mind when deciding where to sit. It is on the pricy side but I thought everything tasted really good. It hit the spot for me. Sure an AYCE place would've been a better deal but it's conveniently near where I live and I was so badly craving kbbq.

I so enjoyed this Korean BBQ spot! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The vibe is wonderful. And, of course, the food is amazing. I'm a fan of all the grilled meats. It's also kinda fun to do it yourself. If that's your things, this is the spot for you!

This place is a favorite for my family, we eat here at least once a month and the food and service are always excellent! We love the bulgogi and spicy pork, and cooking the meat (and veggies) for yourself is always fun. We love the marinated meats especially. The tacos and the Korean chicken wings are also great. So grateful to have such a wonderful Korean BBQ spot near us!

Some friends and I came in on a Friday night around 545. We were able to walk in, but just after we did the place started to fill and there was a wait. We ordered the ttuckpokki as an appetizer and did the korean bbq for dinner. The ttuckpokki was nice and spicy and the rice cakes a perfet texture. For the bbq we did a single order of each: steak cubes, spicy bulgogi, and chadolbaegi. This, with rice and the banchan was a perfect amount for 3 people. The meat was fresh and high quality, and came with garlic, onions, broccoli, and mushrooms to grill with it. It was also served with soy sauce and a delicious peanut sauce for dipping. We also had the yuzu margaritas and a sake that we enjoyed. Our server was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance was a perfect mix of bustling but quiet enough to hear all your tables conversations. Definitely stop by!

The best Korean BBQ I've had since I left SoCal. Periodt. Banchan was , bulgogi, pork belly, and lots of veggies. So fresh. Great service. Will definitely be back!

The food was good and they have cool merch for purchase. We came during lunch hour and had to wander into the back to find someone who could seat us. Overall I would come back and try something different off the menu

The ambience of this place is absolutely unique. The staff is very attentive and kind. The food is a 5/5. The portions are fair and the drinks are even better. I truly enjoyed going there with friends.

Came here on a Tuesday my daughter bday 11 years old. She LOVES everything asian. She asked for Korean bbq. Found this spot we don't live far and are in the neighborhood a lot. It was 4 of us, sat us down right away. The hostess was awesome. The waitress came we let her know it was our first time. Actually my exact words. We were popping our Korean bbq ‍. It was a little funny. She showed us where to order in the menu since we would be cooking our food. It was four of us. My husband myself the bday girl and my 6 year old. We ordered the steak cubes. My husband ordered a drink made with whisky can't remember the name i LOVE margaritas. So i orders the yuzu margarita i hope i wrote that right. It was delicious like strong but sweet and not cheap liquor. The bday girl got a lychee drink. We got naked wings for the 6 year old. The pickiest kid ever. The brought out a few plates of idk what . We were trying to figure out if we cook it lol then the sever said it was sides. I'm like obviously. When the waitress came we asked she explained what they all were. Then the food to cook came. I was just a bit annoyed because i let it be known it was our first time so maybe when those "sides " came she could've explained. She didn't even explain how to cook what to do etc. But no worries my husband got it down pack because he loves to bbq. It is a bit pricey not a place to just go for dinner unless it's an occasion at least for our budget. Now i personally don't like when the bill comes and they "suggest" omg it was 30%,25% or 20%. Like 30% wth . Anyways overall nice experience

I happened to pass by with a friend we went in had the salad and dumplings, chicken wings. I want to go back try the cooking table. Service was great. I came back again for lunch before heading over to the movies. Ambiance is nice too.

We stumbled upon this Korean BBQ gem and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. Our server was incredibly helpful, guiding us through the entire experience with patience and expertise. The food was simply amazing. The chicken wings were some of the best we've ever had crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with flavor. The Bulgogi beef was incredibly tender. And let's not forget about the assortment of sauces and sides, which complemented the meal perfectly. The best part Getting to grill all the food ourselves right at our table, adding an interactive and fun element to the dining experience.

Overall this dining experience was 10/10 , our server was extremely sweet and helped us choose all the right dishes and drinks! All the sides that came with the brisket were soooo yummy , you can't go wrong with anything.

My experience at Dokebi is my karma for going to Williamsburg for kbbq and expecting seasoned food. This was the worst bbq I've had in the city. Everything was incredibly bland and overpriced AF. We got the "spicy" chicken wings...NO FLAVOR whatsoever, no spice at all. It's like they just dipped a chicken wing in some frying oil and threw it on our plates. We also got the spicy bulgogi-again, zero spice- and the steak chops. It was so bad we had to ask for salt and pepper. We tried asking for garlic salt or other kinds of seasoning and they apparently didn't have that. The servers and bartenders were lovely though.

Hipster vibe. Great friendly service. It was very busy and there was a long wait for our food but the apps came out fast and they gave us extra. Waiter was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We wanted a table with a stove but they didn't have any available. We had steak and wings and chicken. Everything was beyond delicious. We went in the summer and haven't made it back yet, but we plan to. Definitely worth the wait!

Was craving korean bbq one day and decided to go here. First off, their selection banchan was fresh and delicious! My favorite were the bean sprouts and the spinach. Had a couple plates of meat - standout was the kalbi. It was perfectly marinated and was sweet and savory. The grain rice accompanied the meal well. It is a bit pricey though, so it's not an everyday thing. But it wasn't bad since the meal itself was of good quality.

Our waitress was awesome (wish we got her name, she knew everything on the menu and had great recommendations)! Super nice and attentive. The food is very authentic IMO. Everything served was perfectly hot. Our kimchi soup was bubbling hot with a nice touch of spice and had a tang from the fermented kimchi. The chicken wings were flavorful and were perfectly crisp on the outside. Probably one of the best places that has good wings in the neighborhood. The beef bibimbap in the hot stone bowl is a must have (we got an extra egg on top, recommend)! You can tell they know what they're doing there bc the rice didn't stick. When stirring it you get that crispy rice on the bottom, spoons perfectly right off. I've been to many Korean restaurants that can't seem to perfect it as the rice sometimes sticks to the pot and gets mushy. Loved all the sides they had to offer especially the kimchi! Covid protocols are followed and server takes your order at the table. Plates, utensils are not single use take out containers which is great! Better for the environment and also just makes the experience a whole lot better than versus other places that serve you takeout containers even when dining in at the establishment.

More like a 3.5/5 star rating. Came here for lunch during covid and they have nice outdoor, covered seating. Ordered the spicy seafood bibimbap in the hot pot (for $2 extra) and a mushroom burrito. The bibimbap came with a few banchan (side dishes), I really enjoyed the fermented bean one. If you order a bibimbap, definitely order it in the hot pot to get the crispy rice. It's also a pretty big portion so you could share it between two people. The seafood was a bit overcooked but overall I did enjoy it. The mushroom burrito on the other hand was a miss. The flavor of the mushrooms didn't come through and it tasted quite bland, especially eating it along side the bibimbap. I have had their tacos on a different occasion and enjoyed them so maybe just stick with tacos over burritos.

As a Korean American it can be hard to come by authentic Korean options in Brooklyn. This place is a hidden gem. I was very impressed with the food. Also, Jade our server, was wonderful. Incredible place!

Highly recommend! Amazing food and service. Jade was our server and immediately made us feel welcomed and cared for. A great spot to stop for dinner on a date or with friends.

For a New Year's Eve dinner with a large group of people, Dokebi was a great choice. It was intimate, fun and overall a good vibe! Mandoo Pan fried pork dumplings! Tasty and filling. The soy dipping sauce was key and essential to bring the Mandoo dish whole. Dokebi Spicy Wings The soy glaze was so goood! Tasted a bit of ginger in there that gave the wings more of a "oomph". I was a bit drunk halfway through the wings so I could not finish them, unfortunately, but can attest that they were delicious.

Walking away at a ~$80 bill with just 2 beers (pre-gratuity), I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic Korean food. I would recommend it for the outdoor seating, service and drinks however. We did not try the KBBQ so this review is not for that. Sat outside due to COVID-19 guidelines and although service was great, the review sits at 3 stars because the food was not the best. Pros: - Outdoor seating was nice, especially during COVID, availability on both sides of the block. Cons: Banchan - salty. Practically everything was too salty to the point where we did not eat much of the Banchan. Soy Ginger Wings (8pcs) - Luckily not too salty, but unfortunately not flavorful enough. No where near the crispiness of regular Korean wings. Dejang Jiggae - Just okay Kalbi Jjim - Tasted very mediocre as if it was a broth whipped in 5 minutes, abused with soy sauce and mirin. The beef was nice and tender but the broth was just severely lacking.

The food is great and affordable. The atmosphere is chill and welcoming. Our server Caleb did an amazing job serving us. We will definitely be back soon!

Dokebi is always a fun place to go with friends and family. My young one loves being able to BBQ on their grills! The service is great, the food is great and the location is just off the Beat'n path!

UPDATE: The section by the bar, or the back, is also nice. This time I tried the chicken bbq and, again, it was okay but not exceptional. My wife, though, loved the soondubu chigae (seafood stew). Nice atmosphere, especially if you stay in the less noisy part by the entrance. The food is okay, but not exceptional. The bulgogi, for instance, featured incredibly salty meat. Try the soon dubu instead. Interestingly, they have Portuguese vinho verde on the menu. Refreshing, during the summer.

Been going there for over 6 years now, Easily the best Korean BBQ in Brooklyn, the staff is great and the food to die for. i have taken friends and fam, and sometimes groups of 12 , always a great experience ! But, Just... Be ready to wait a while for your food, even when the restaurant is EMPTY, they find a way to bring you raw ( cold, not needed to be cooked , only olive oil , salt and pepper) in over 20mn wait sometimes.... Really enjoyed lunch at Dokebi today. We started off by sharing a rice cake dish with added fish cakes. Delicious! After that we shared the single portion of the pork belly BBQ dish which you cook yourself on the table grill. The pork belly comes with mushrooms, peppers, onions and garlic to grill as well. It is served with lettuce, allowing you to eat the pork belly and other vegetables as a lettuce wrap, as well as a delicious bean paste and some rice. This was enough food for the two of us. The server was very attentive and prompt and the food was great! I'll certainly go back!!!

This place is wonderful. We just had dinner here and ordered the marinated pork shoulder (ordered spicy) and the bulgogi. These entrees came with a delicious selection of banchan, a side of rice and dipping sauce. We also ordered pork dumplings and the scallion kimchi pancake. We cooked our meats ourselves KBBQ style and everything was incredible!! The service was impeccable, offered great suggestions and drink choices. Super cute spot. Also don't think a CC fee is illegal, not my favorite but many restaurants charge one now.

So yummy, great service, I really recommend to come here. This is worth ur money. I'm coming back!

great, tasty korean food that most can enjoy. clean & well-designed space especially on a beautiful sunny day with outdoor seating and booths by open windows. excellent, quick service and a friendly server. spicy kimchee rice was beyond!

I was craving bibimbap and so I wanted to try another place and I decided to order from here because previously this place had 4 stars. The bibimbap was not a version I ever had since it didn't come with spinach or mushrooms. It came with big slices of bell peppers. I was beyond disappointed, since you're expecting something that your craving and get something totally different. Like don't call this bibimbap.

Extremely disappointing and what a rip off! I paid &27 for this?! This is such a damn rip off! We have been going and ordering from Dokebi for years and this is definitely our last dang time.

I've had Korean BBQ a handful of times, and I am inclined to say that Dokebi would be my last choice. The ambiance and service - its a bar turned into a Korean BBQ restaurant. Its a bit dark, and the service is friendly, but slow. It took about 10 minutes for us to get glasses of water when the dining area was almost empty. Our waitress was friendly, but it seems like she had to balance managing the restaurant area as well as the bar all the way in the back. The food - for apps we ordered the edamame which seems like it was boiled for too long (super mushy) and an order of pork/veggie dumplings (aka mandoo... these weren't bad). My friend and I also decided to split the Steak Cubes (portion for 2) served with extra virgin olive oil, salt + pepper, broccoli, onion, mushroom, and wasabi soy sauce. At a whopping $34, you'd expect to leave full or at least get more of the complimentary sides that Korean BBQ places in NYC offer. If you are going to have a Korean BBQ restaurant so close to Manhattan, you should compete with what Manhattan is offering, no? Isn't that how this works? Not here apparently! The steak was delicious, don't get me wrong, but you get a much better experience it Koreatown. Also their Shabu Shabu (Japanese Style) is $49... WHUT? Again, I'm sure its delicious, but this isn't a high-end place and Shabu Shabu is usually SUPER cheap. I guess I am just not getting how this chill, unassuming place came out of left field with these prices. Believe the 3 star rating. Go to Koreatown for your Korean BBQ fix.

This review is for the hot pot. It was the blandest thing Ive ever eaten. The "broth" is hot water with a piece of kombu seaweed (no bonito or other salt source). As it cooks down it continues to taste like nothing, at least nothing with any flavor. Isn't using salt cooking 101? It had potential, the ingredients all looked good, but everything gets cooked in flavorless broth and so it tastes equally flavorless. They do give you two dipping sauces: a vinegar soy sauce mix and a soy sesame sauce that's a bit sweet. Of course, neither sauce was particularly salty so all I was craving was straight up soy sauce to fix this disaster. I feel bad not giving a higher review because the other food I've had here is fine, although often under seasoned, but this is just too big of fail. If you come here just get the BBQ because that's hard to mess up.

Delicious Korean Barbecue. Truly had a great experience with a distant cousin of mine. We caught up over the drinks and enjoyed sashimi and the soup as well. Would come back!

Ordered 16 Soy Ginger Wings and a side of Kim Chi for pickup. The wings were good but the side was extremely small. Had I known it was that small I would not have ordered it.

dawg i can't fade the food was mid got kbbq but prob the worst i've had aigoo $30 for a small amount of brisket the servers don't rly know kbbq bc they put the temp all the way up (idk y) then i had to change to med heat but the grill was so black aish chincha had to ask them to switch grill. meat was scarce, kimchi/sauce was mid

There are plenty of places to get overpriced, overcooked Korean BBQ in New York and this was one of them. The seafood pancake was flaccid. The japchae noodles melted together. The kalbi (at $36 for a single portion!), which was cooked by the kitchen since we sat at the bar, was rubbery. The banchan finally came out after we had finished our mains. The only highlight was the house-made blue cheese. As the cherry on top, they charge a 3.5% surcharge for credit card purchases, which is illegal under section 518 of the New York General Business Law and which we reported to 311.

Super fun atmosphere! Great food and they really were great about accommodating to a gluten allergy.

Go to NJ or Flushing for authentic, fairly priced Korean. We all know that Ktown has been stripped of its authenticity and value for a few years now. Now since that's out of my system, we can talk about Williamsburg Korean. I've tried a decent number of dishes, and not all are equal in quality or taste. What I don't recommend: Kalbi Jjim, any of the burritos, Korean Fried Chicken, or the Kimchi Fried Rice. Their Kalbi Jjim is actually the worst I've ever had, and there's a lot of other options for Korean Fried Chicken in this area now. The Kimchi Jjigae and Dwenjang Jjigae is surprisingly decent, but these stews may not be for those unfamiliar with the cuisine. Also, they are going to offer Naengmyun (cold noodles in broth or spicy sauce) in the summer! I appreciate their mix of authentic Korean and fusion Korean dishes- there's something for everyone. Also, they include 6 banchans (side dishes) with your order (try the potato salad if it's on rotation that day!). The smokeless KBBQ grills at the table are also a plus, and though the price may be high, sometimes the hike to NJ or Queens isn't appealing.

The food is great but compared to the Korean restaurants with the same price range in korea town its a 3 star meal. We got the bulgogi and the steak cubes for our Korean bbq. The little side dishes were only 3 different types of kimchi and 2 different kind of sea beans as i remember. It is way lighter than usual. The bulgogi was very nicely seasoned and very tasty but unfortunately steak cubes were dry and tasteless. If i ever return id only get bulgogi

Ate at dokebi last night and realized I'm due for a 10 year review update. I've been a regular since they opened, almost 20 years ago. I can't think of another restaurant that's stayed in my heavy rotation for that long. I must eat there three times a month, which means something like 600 visits. I bumped it up to 5 stars because it's stayed consistently good, and the best things are really great. I've realized after numerous outing in flushing, ft. Lee and LA Koreatown, that dokebi's jigaes and soondubu are now the standard-bearer that no one else lives up to. A couple of other things that make them stand-out: full beer selection on tap. It's a little thing that means a lot, an is pretty unique at a legit Korean restaurant. Also, they include full banchan with takeout. That's really special, the only Korean place I know of that does that, and something I really appreciated, especially during covid. Staff has turned over dozens of time in 20 years, but they always find sweet, thoughtful, and professional people to front the house. In their quiet consistentency Dokebi is a very special place. I hope it's here for another 20 years.

We were visiting and happened to be staying near this location and decided to give it a try. The ambiance was pretty decent. We were greeted by a hostess (who ended up being out waiter) and set at a booth with a traditional grill. We were given some small bites that were quite good to start the meal. We ordered the steak cubes and the bulgogi. Both were delicious but the bulgogi was the favourite. The only problem was they seemed short staffed and we were only visited maybe 3 times throughout the whole meal and had to go get our waitress to ask for the check.

The galbi was so delicious I asked for another round. It was disappointing that the meat portion wasn't as much as I expect it to be especially around 60 bucks for double meat. The meat portions come out in a dish with assorted vegetables and although the broccoli was good. I pay 60 for a plate of meat and not veggies on the side. The banchan are not as good either. My friend said it's made fresh...I rather they buy it LOL. Def go to flushing or 34th for authentic kbbq but this isn't the worse bad. :P
