i'm not sure i've ever loved a place more in my entire life, the owner is the sweetest person in the entire world. they switched out my gacha for me one i accidentally got the only one i didn't want, a really kind gesture that reminds you why it's important to shop with small businesses because they truly care about the happiness of their customer and appreciate your support 💕 it feels so special to me to have a place that is a little taste of japan in walking distance from my house, i miss japan every day and now i don't have to miss it as much. i'm so proud to see such a special place in my community where i can go to enjoy my favorite things. i've held off visiting for a long time because i didn't want to spend money but there doesn't feel like pressure to buy something (i still did make a purchase) i will definitely be back and i would love to see even bigger things coming to doki doki ✨🇯🇵

It seemed to be a very nice shop but I was very taken aback that upon entering the facility the young lady working the counter never spoke or interacted with us until my son purchased something and had to complete the transaction. It was very uncomfortable and awkward and quite frankly rude. My son was intrigued by the selection that they have but I really don't want to return. UPDATE: I appreciate the response from the owner as it does provide clarity and context. However, I understand the nuances of customer service and can appreciate trying to find a balance in your interactions with various people and personalities but I also would have appreciated just an initial hello. Especially because it was our first time in the store. But since that is something that you teach your employees it is understandable that every day can't be perfect. Thank you for your response.

A pretty awesome anime collection can start here. I love the variety of anime and that they have many One Piece figures and other nifty things.

Holy moly this shop is awesome!!! The staff was really patient and understanding, even after I accidentally stumbled over a shelf, whoops...(don't worry, other people and I cleaned up the crime scene, and nothing broke!!) The customers themselves are very kind, too! I'm definitely coming back, and NOT making a mess next time... I hope.

Doki Doki is an absolute gem tucked away in Lakewood—a must-visit for anyone who loves Japanese pop culture, kawaii fashion, and adorable collectibles! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by vibrant displays, pastel colors, and a curated selection of everything cute—from plushies and anime merch to unique stationary and accessories that you just won’t find anywhere else. The staff is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about what they do, making the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. Whether you’re a longtime anime fan or just discovering your love for J-fashion, they take time to chat and offer recommendations without being pushy. The shop has a little bit of everything—perfect for finding gifts or treating yourself to something that sparks joy. It’s small but thoughtfully packed, and you can tell there’s real love behind the curation.

This is the best place in the Cleveland area for anime and manga related items. Ami sells a lot of cool stuff and the product line varies allowing for fresh and fun things to find every visit. So many cute and cool little things if you’re on a budget and a lot of cool big things like mechs and kits to paint if that’s your jam. There is a vast manga section that has a lot of recent and updated favorites. Also a wonderful place to play Anime related TCG’s like Pokémon, Union Arena, One Piece, and Gundam. Good and consistent community for playing, beginner friendly, and fun for casual players too (not controlled by meta decks, a lot of people just play decks they enjoy regardless of meta relevance). I highly recommend stopping by and checking it out if you’re in the Lakewood area.

Stopped in for the first time, and had fun looking at the variety of merch. Model building, miniatures, manga, and plushes. I decided to treat myself to a some self care goodies.

Staff was friendly and the music was good enough to get my toddler to vibe. The selection of nerd stuff was pretty decent.
