Dolan's Irish Bar and Grill

Stopped here after skiing, and while it’s not much too look at, it was quite busy on a Sunday afternoon. Pros: the food was hot and the beers were cold. Service was fast & friendly and overall a good experience. Tried the shepherds pie, and corned beef sandwich with sweet potato fries. Cons: food was good, not great, but not bad by any means. They were out of a few things including the lamb stew which hubs really wanted to try.

BeBack rating- yessiree! The shepherds pie had flavor as compared to most others I've had at different places. They were on the bland side but still good. Dolan's pie has liver so be aware of that. The fish and chips, or fries, was delicious and fresh tasting. The batter bot too thick and crispy. I will say that I wish I had one more piece. I guess it's fishflation. But the best and surprising experience was the bread pudding! I was not expecting the look and the other toppings that came with it as you can see in the picture. Yes, it was very sweet and the ice vanilla ice cream melted to fast, but excellent still. We in the separate room, closest to the kitchen area. There was a group of folks at the bar having a good time. The memorabilia in the bar area will attract your attention. The chef was very friendly. Oh, the menu had some items that I didn't expect, also. So, overall, Dolan's will see me again!

Has a nice feel good vibe in the bar. I ordered the chilli dog and although it was tasty- presentation was off & it was served on a plate that made it very difficult to eat. The tater tots seemed bland, not fully warm.

Every time I come here the food is delicious. The servers are friendly and on it. Highly recommend the butterscotch French toast. It was just the right amount of sweet.

What a wonderful little pub in the Folsom! The Irish vibe is fully present and represented well! A HUGE collection of brews of tap to choose from. The special of the night - a meatball sub - was ::chefs kiss:: exquisite! Behind the bar, ask for Megatron! She was the hostess with the mostess!!

I visited here for the first time 2 weeks ago for lunch. The beer "could" have been a lot colder, but the exceptional service and tasty food more than made up for it. I attempted to visit today. Walk in, sit, wait 5 minutes while the bartender chats with guests, realize that maybe he did not see us. Visit the bar asking for a menu, they do not have a cook. No food. That's cool, I get it. It's difficult to find good people. Why was there a 5 minute wait of being ignored before this was discovered? He saw us walk in, why not say hi, why not acknowledge our existence? I am saddened how bad it was today. 5 stars for the food and service, 1 for the lack of everything today. Still, we can do better!

Had the pleasure of meeting the amazingly hilarious bartender Elizabeth while we stopped at this bar on our way back home. Had an delicious chili dog, couple of stiff drinks, and a good laugh in a comfortable laid-back environment. Bartender super cool and patrons friendly. Would definitely recommend this bar

Our first time in. All of the staff made time to stop by the table and say hello, plus the food was way above my expectations! Will definitely visit again.

Thought i'd try this place for lunch. Menu looked good. Went in & it looked like a standard bar/grill place... thete were about 8-10 older folks stitting at the bar... Only one bartender i could see...I went over to one of the tables & grabbed a seat.... I waited there for over 5 minutes...no acknowledgement...no greeting...in fact, a woman came in through the back door, sat at the bar & the bartender went over to her & proceeded to chit chat...right in front of me...i was looking right at her & still no response... I know when I'm not wanted...I can spend my lunch $$ anywhere...just know it wont be here.

Friendly stuff and a nice atmosphere, however, on the night we went they were having a very loud bingo game and it was a bit too much for us. Perhaps we would have enjoyed it more when it was quieter.

Wanted to try today and unfortunately they are closed for business......it has a sign in front indicating ABC suspended their alcohol license.

Delicious food! VERY busy for St. Patty's day, but we expected that. Highly recommend the Irish nachos and corned beef/cabbage! The baileys cheesecake was delightful! We'll be back!

Where everybody knows your name Stopped by here while on our way to Placerville to catch Game 3 of the World Series - Go Dodgers! Awk walking in to a bar filled with 49er & Giant memorabilia on the walls. Our server Vance - on his first day - did FANTASTIC! Cookie brought our food out and was like we were long lost friends. Wish we could be around longer - we would be here EVERY NIGHT! Thank you for a great time!

Decided to drop in on a Monday evening and received a warm welcome by a few regular patrons at the bar as well as the Chef/Owner himself! We ordered the Corn beef tacos, Irish dumplings aka potstickers and Scotch eggs. It was definitely 5 stars in flavor/portion/presentation, super delish!! There are many other items on menu that we will be back to try. There is a full bar with decent amount of beers on tap as well! However I would like to suggest bringing in more of the local breweries with popular IPA and Hazy IPA taps.

I picked up a to go order of their lettuce chicken wraps, but very disappointed. Lacked flavor & peanut sauce swimming in oil.

Everytime I have a meal here, it's amazing! The cook does such a great job. Today it was Shepherds pie! Wow! So good!!!!

I had driven past this place a few times and decided to give it a shot to grab a beer, have a bite, and watch some preseason NFL action. I wasn't disappointed! Dolan's has a great vibe. When I stopped in, there was a friendly crowd of regulars who were more than happy to give me some recommendations off the menu. I was a bit surprised to see Ahi Poke being served at an Irish bar, but since multiple people vouched for it, I dove right in. It ended up being a great choice. Everything was clearly made from scratch, including the won tons. Since I had so much luck with the first recommendation, I opted for another and tried the potstickers. Again, a fine choice. The draft beer selection is solid. Aside from your usual suspects, they had 3 beers from Fort Rock Brewing, Knee Deep Breaking Bud, Deschutes Fresh Squeezed, and Belching Beaver's Nitro Peanut Butter Milk Stout. The only thing that I'd suggest is that they stock an Irish Red Ale - that style is always a nice back for a shot of Jameson. The service was excellent. The bartender who was working was friendly, responsive, and knew the menu up and down. If you are looking for a fun spot to watch NFL football, drink a craft beer, have a good meal, and chat with nice people I can highly recommend Dolan's.

Fabulous food! Louis the chef is awesome! So many choices! Irish dumplings, poke, cowboy shrimp and chicken Marsala -all favorites of ours! Always a good time here! One our favorite places! You have to come see for yourself!

So good! The food here is so good. Best wings we've had in the Folsom/Rocklin area. Such a good Patty Melt and Onion Rings. My family absolutely loved everything here.

We I'm leaving Dolan's ... as usual everything was terrible especially the banana cream pie.... I don't know why I keep coming back. .... If it weren't for the awesome food great drinks and good service I wouldn't be her. Louis is the best chef in the area!!!! And the bartender Kelli was a great help

Nice little Irish Pub, pretty good selection of Beer and good food at a very good price, especially for this day and age, it's a place where locals hang out so you know it's good with a friendly staff and patrons.

Dolan's never ceases to disappoint. Their chicken tacos are awesome. Wes was a little busy, but still am instantly served and asked if I wanted to eat. The food came out fast, and the bar-back/food runner? Not sure, but he was helpful and friendly. The owners are doing it all the right ways!

I paid for my drink in cash and never recieved my change. I asked the bartender how much my drink was and she couldnt tell me or how much change I should have got. And then walked away while I was still speaking to her. I still never recieved my change. She just decided my change would go to her tip. Very unprofessional. I will not be going back.

This is a great local bar. Recently, they've opened a grill that is a real game changer. Great food and great staff. You can sit in the diner section or the in the bar to grab a beer and watch TV. They also have live music on the weekends. Live music, great food, fun atmosphere and great drinks. You gotta' love Dolan's.

So happy they are open. Great food and can't wait to come back for more. The man keeps ordering the fish and chips- that's how good they are. I ate almost all of his coleslaw- just the right amount of kick to it I had the Potato cabbage rolls-super yummy and indulgent. And the creamy chicken noodle soup was perfect. Sounds simple but was so tasty. All desserts are homemade. Forgot to take pics of the food but I'm posting the apple pie. Brunch menu looks great also. How can you turn down bottomless Mimosas?!?!

Met some friends at Dolans recently and will be making a return visit. I had the fish and chips and enjoyed it very much. Something for everyone from sports to music.

Food is great! Loved the Irish Nachos and the Bangers and Mash. Nice atmosphere! We will definitely come back.

We've been to this place twice now. The first time there my wife ordered a hamburger, which she pronounced as "delicious ". I had the Jambalaya. Best I ever had. Wonderful flavors, spiced just right. Last night we returned. My wife had the Chicken Marsala, which she said was also delicious. I had the Jambalaya again. Couldn't resist it. Chef Luis Gomez is a treasure. We highly recommend this place.

We had so much fun doing karaoke at Dolans Bar. The food was excellent, atmosphere was great, and we loved the KJ. We will be coming more often and bringing our friends.

Super great food. Not the usual sports bar grub. Had the Ahi Poke (very, very fresh), chicken marsala (amazing garlic in the sauce, and perfectly cooked veggies), and yummy street tacos (chicken). Waitress treated us to a delicious salted caramel cheesecake. Looking forward to coming again!

I have been to Dolan's a couple of times on a Sunday for a drink and appetizers with my husband. The staff is friendly and the food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. What I am giving Dolan's 5 stars for is their humanity and compassion. My coworkers and I lost a dear friend last week. It was sudden and shocking and we were all beside ourselves with grief. We closed our office down and I suggested through tears that I would be at the local bar if anyone wanted to go and all be together. One by one we all trickled into Dolan's. When I got up to take a call the bartender asked my husband if I was okay. He told her what had happened. We continued to order some food and drinks when the owner came in. He checked to see if we needed more drinks and said hello. We have never met him. After he spoke with the sweet bartenders he came over and offered to buy us shots. We didn't want them since most of us had to drive, but just the fact that he offered and the compassion that he and his staff had is something I am very grateful for. Our friend that passed was a huge yelp reviewer of coffee and dining establishments and loved to frequent locally owned establishments. He would have loved that we got such wonderful service. Thank you from the bottom of my heart .

I ordered from Dolan's for the first time. It was a dinner to go on St. Patrick's day. When I got there the woman at the register was on the phone and was not wearing a mask. I noticed one of the servers was also unmasked. I could see the food being prepared from where I was standing and a man had a mask hanging around his neck. I wish I didn't collect my dinner, but I did. As I left, I was concerned about the food safety of my meal because of the food handling and the very close proximity of the kitchen staff to each other. So that dinner was absolutely ruined for me. I have been ordering out meals at least once a week to help our local businesses during the pandemic , but this was not a good experience.

Dolans is an amazing small town bar. The owners and the bartenders here are all about the customers. Everytime I walk through the doors they welcome me with the greatest attitudes. They are super personable and great at creating a fun environment!

The food here is incredible. I had the cajun chicken sandwich and the chicken was tender and juicy. They also have the tastiest thin fries. Can't want for my next meal there.

Came in last week and took a seat at the bar. I was ignored for the first 13 minutes. Finally after I got up and pushed the bar stool back in, I was asked if I've been helped yet as I walked toward the door to leave. I didn't catch the little blonde's name that failed as a bartender, but she was too busy talking to people on the other side to assist me. This place is definitely a smear on the good Dolan name!

Excellent little home bar. Really friendly, clean and never takes too long to get a drink. If the bartender, Jon Stanco, is working we are happy to show up - great service, smiling face, and great drinks. They also have pool tables, darts, and occasional karaoke. Great for a night out, or just going out for a beer.

We came before an appointment for a massage Christie at the bar was awesome and Louis, the head cook made us a phenomenal meal- my wife had the lettuce wraps which were picture perfect and I had to fish and chips which were lightly breaded cod -it was phenomenon great food great service good vibe awesome sports watching NASCAR and golf at the same time what's not to like? I'll be back

A nice little place I was here when they first opened a have dropped by since. A good selection of beer and they make good drinks. TV set up is pretty good. No food but they have some snacks. There are a couple of restaurants in the same lot and you can bring the food in. So the food issue is not too bad. Service is also pretty good. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Went straight into the grill side and had amazing food. This was our first time to the grill. We had the Scotch eggs, potato cabbage rolls, and shared a St. Patty Melt. I came in not expecting more than decent food but we were blown away. Everything we had was delicious. Great taste and nice presentation. The chef even came out and asked how everything tasted. We will definitely be in here again.

Prices are ok, but it's been 21 mins and counting for a drink. 13 people at the bar. Bartender has been talking to 2 older gentlemen for maybe 10-15mins straight. They must be important

I am so happy Dolans is opened again! They were open St. Patricks Day, then closed on this over blown corona virus! Now open two and a half months later and better than ever!! Great food, drinks and service! This is a great Irish bar! Our neighborhood place to go to be with old friends and meet new friends!

This bar is epic!!! I love going to Dolans Bar always have a fun time. The best owners and bar tenders and killer food makes this bar my favorite! There are plenty of TV's Pool Tables Darts and Karaoke! Bar Tenders serve excellent drinks and know there drinks. Happy St. Patrick's Day to Tim Dolan and everyone at Dolans Bar and Grill!

Had a TERRIBLE experience here. MANDY (short blonde) was our bartender and she was so rude for no reason. All we did was sit down and we even tried to go ask for drinks at the bar. She wasn't busy at all and made us pay immediately even though we wanted to stay and have some drinks. Made rude and condescending comments every time she opened her mouth. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. NEVER going back there again. MANDY needs to be FIRED!!!

The lady bartering needs to learn customer service. She kicked me out over getting upset she told me I need a tampon because she had a problem I asked for a water. Absolutely never coming back after this rude and horrible experience. I would love for the owners to watch the recording inside the bar to see how your grade A employees treat customers.

Had dinner at the new Dolan's Grill (of Dolan's Bar and Grill) last night which opened on this week. The food was delicious. I had the Shepherds Pie which was as good if not better than any Shepherds Pie I've had on any of my three trips Ireland. Scotch Eggs with sausage or mustard aioli sauce, scrumptious. Wife had Beet Salad and Sweet Potato Fries - also delicious. For desert we had the home made Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce - Triple Yummy !!! As always, Dolan's was filled with its remarkably interesting patrons from all walks of life. Kudos to the ownership for not only introducing not just food, but fine cuisine. I'll be stopping by for lunch this week, next week, the week after, etc, etc, etc...

Just like to say if you are looking for a fun place to relax and have your favorite refreshing drink with friends , then you should check out Dolan's. Friday night karaoke , golden tee and darts , pool , and they even have a band that plays a wide selection of music.

Dolan's is such a cool place and its the bartender Mandie that makes this place the bomb... She is attentive, great personality and a pleasure to be served.. the people here are friendly... I like it because I am old school so its friendly and all ages are welcome. I recommend it highly if you are ever in the Folsom Area. Dee

1st time here and food and service was both amazing. Everything was tasty ! The bread appetizer was insane ! Definitely coming back!!! Noah was the best server we've had in ages and the chef was equally nice and a great chef. He came out a few times to talk to us and even brought us a comp dessert that was super tasty. Great room to hang out with friends and catch a game. An old school, liquor only bar, the bartenders are talented and the Dolan family are a Folsom staple. Give it a shot. You'll be back.

10/01/20 we walked into the restaurant, mind you another restaurant and customers who were sitting at the restaurant send us over there for dinner, the hostee did not greet us, after a minute I walked up to the bar and was going to ask the bar man told us to wait he will be with us and pointed us to dirty table saying he will clean the table. Okay we are color individuals, we are NOT not racist, very friendly, we just stood there and watched tv for a minute and waiting for him to clean the table and watched the football game. I personally was very disgusted by the situation. We were very kind had dinner and left. Now as I am telling my experience to my friends, I just realized I walked into a very uncomfortable situation but I stilled smiled my way out. Please we are all human beings with good intentions .

Wow! Perfect bar and restaurant combo! I visiting from Los Angeles and a friend from the Folsom area suggested Irish food for a change. Definitely a good choice since their fish and chips were superb! The perfect amount of crisp and taste. Excellent wine, and we had a friendly waiter named Anthony that made us feel welcome. We topped dinner with cheese cake which was divine. It's definitely a bar and grill atmosphere so I'm sure if you head in on a Saturday night there's sure to be music and a bit of ladies dancing. Lovely place for a fun time.

This place is so EPIC!! Went there with some co-workers to celebrate my 21st birthday and it was totally cool! From arcade games, to darts, to a full sized pool table they have the hook-ups. Definitely a good hangout spot whether you're alone watching the game, or going out with a big group of friends. Definitely recommend to the highest degree.

Love this place friendly staff great place for a quick beer or staying longer for the karaoke and the live bands or shooting a game of pool or playing 18 on golden tee and free snacks can't wait for the restaurant to open
