Oscars 2018: What Did Hollywood Celebrities Eat At The Post-Award Parties?

"The Governors Ball is the definitive post-Oscars party, held annually in the Ray Dolby Ballroom, close to the Oscars venue, Dolby Theatre. It attracts a megawatt line-up of more than 1,500 people including Oscar winners and celebrities. Wolfgang Puck has crafted the menu for 24 consecutive years, featuring playful hors d’oeuvres, a caviar bar, and desserts like chocolate Oscar statuettes coated in edible 24-carat gold dust. The event is known for its luxurious and indulgent offerings, with a contingent of 300 kitchen crew and 900 waiters supporting the service." - Kenneth Goh

Very well organized, all the staff very attentive and helpful, clean, safe, inside the theater grounds. The Cinderella play has its charms, the actors and ballet dancers are outstanding in their costumes and performance, congratulations. Outside on Hollywood Blvd., everything is equally dirty, unsafe, and the homeless are unpleasant. Be very careful when walking around there.

There's something special about being able to sit in a seat where a celebrity sat just a few weeks ago for the Oscars. Meanwhile, the event you're currently at is to see and hear celebrities on stage for one of the biggest TV shows in U.S. history. I came here to see the cast of "The Handmaid's Tale" at PaleyFest LA and was excited to see 10 of the cast members along with a few of the producers and writers for the series finale. The interview was done by showing a few clips from the show first, then having the cast and crew answer questions about those clips. Towards the end, we got to see a sneak preview clip from the upcoming new season. It's all very well done and thought out, and it feels good to be surrounded by people who are as much into a show as you are. My only complaint is about the parking. I came solely for the event and they didn't validate unless you pay to be a Paley member, so I went to the machine and paid $16. The machine did a weird thing where it just spat out my ticket without confirming it was paid. So I got to the gate where there's another ticket machine and the gate wouldn't open. The employee at the gate said my card must have been declined the first time, so I put my card in again. This time I was charged $18. When I got home, my bank showed that I was charged twice. So now I have to go to the trouble of trying to get my money back. I knew there was something wrong when I saw one of the ticket machines covered up with a sign apologizing that it wasn't working. So overall, great experience with the event, horrible experience with parking.

The Dolby Theatre, home to the Academy Awards, is an iconic destination in Los Angeles. During a short trip to LA, I took a guided tour inside the theater, and it was absolutely amazing to learn about its history, culture, and the behind-the-scenes details of the Oscars. Sitting in the same chairs as Hollywood’s biggest stars and riding the same elevators they use during the event made the experience even more surreal. For any movie fan, this is definitely a must-visit and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood offers an authentic immersion into the world of cinematic grandeur and live performance. As the iconic home of the Academy Awards, it allows visitors to step onto the very stage where Hollywood legends have received their accolades, feeling the tangible excitement of history. Beyond the glitz, its state-of-the-art Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies deliver an unparalleled audiovisual experience, truly bringing stories to life with a profound sense of realism and spectacle that defines the cutting edge of entertainment.

Didn't had a chance to do a tour and see any shows this time. However, it was surreal to see my favorite movies on the pillars and architecture was beautiful. I'd plan for a show next time.

Went here to see the Hollywood sign as someone suggested you get a good view from here. Indeed, we could see it. Additionally, the interesting building architecture, different exhibitions, and trendy crowd came to experience the Hollywood area.

I was lucky enough to go to the Thunderbolts world premiere. The place is gorgeous. I love the aesthetic. The audio and the visuals were great!

I have been here multiple times to see various symphonies: Assassin's Creed, One Piece, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, and Avtar the Last Airbender. We always had a fun time and enjoyed it. No matter where we sit, the view is good, and the theater is really nice. The seat has cup holders in front of you. There are bathrooms on every level and an elevator to get to any level. I always enjoy coming here. There is a parking garage attached and parking was never a problem.

Yelp
We have been to the Dolby Theatre several times now and it really is great. It is located in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. in an open air mall and right next to the Chinese Theater. The walk of fame is right in the front and you can walk anywhere from there. The area has great places to eat and shop. The Dolby is up a flight of stairs but there is also an elevator. Most Tickets are from Ticketmaster, but The Pantages also has shows there and you go to their website to see what is at the Dolby. They have everything, from kids' shows to rock concerts and musicals. It is a wonderful place to see any show. The staff is great and will help you to your seats. It is a big place and the seats all the way in the back balcony are not good. The first 20 rows are the best. They also have good food and not just junk like you will find at other theaters. Parking is for a fee in the big lot for this mall. It is pricey. The place is just beautiful and kept very clean. You will love it.

Yelp
It's the @Light_skin_dragon coming to you with a live event! The outside was beautiful but crowded! Walking up the stairs you'll see the Doble theater right there! But most importantly I didn't come to see the temptations and the four tops. I bout two tickets for the padillas! They were so happy and it made me feel good seeing them smile and to get out the house. Ms Robin Padilla enjoys these two bands and so does Mr Micheal Padilla. Catching up with them for a short while. I had to scan my phone to they can get In and I got them tickets close so they can see them. Not the nose bleeds seat haha I can't say much about the place but seeing them smile brought a smile to my heart. I forgot to take a picture with them. Next time I will! Have a blessed night everyone and this is the Light_skin_dragon looking for a new place to review

Yelp
In the true spirit of Christmas, one must see the nutcracker ballet. Being a first timer, I had no idea how to dress for the ballet, how early to show up, let alone ballet etiquette. So if this is your first time, this review is for you. What to wear depends on a few factors such as the time of the show. I went for a 2pm showing, which is considered a matinee and you can dress casual, formal if you like, or land in the middle of both. I don't know how strict the theatre is and whether they enforce a dress code here, but it's better to be safe than sorry and just dress to impress yet comfortable. How early to show up depends on the show. I always aim to arrive 30 minutes early, but encountered more traffic than anticipated since it was around Christmas. Another reason for the traffic was because near the Dolby theater is shopping and other tourist attractions nearby. I got there at 1:55pm and found that I wasn't the only one running late. Thankfully the staff does a great job and is very organized. They got us through quickly and safely. Additionally the staff was very friendly and helpful in helping you find your seat. Parking garages are pretty affordable at $20 for 4 hours and less if you are only there an hour or two. There is parking validation but I forgot to ask the Dolby if they validate parking. The parking attendants do a great job of directing traffic to find parking quickly. Proper ballet etiquette means there are no pictures or videos allowed during the performance. There is also no talking or distractions allowed. As well as no eating or drinking. There was an intermission where you can do all that and there are only two Acts. Each Act is about 45 minutes and the intermission is about 20 minutes. The show itself was nothing short of amazing and spectacular. The Los Angeles Ballet company blew the roof off with their breathtaking performance. Every dancer exquisitely executed each move with such passion and perfection. Huge kudos to the orchestra and its maestro who did an outstanding job. Lastly, but certainly not least every single member of the crew that helped to make this performance incredible you are the unsung hero's and a huge thank you for all that you do. Overall, I highly recommend a trip to the ballet. You will not be disappointed. Our seats were perfect and had a great view. Thank you again to the Los Angeles ballet company and I look forward to your next performance.

Yelp
The disappointing behaviour of the staff ruined our experience We recently attended the Sarah Brightman concert at the Dolby Theatre. Although the venue itself is beautiful and the concert was absolutely stunning, the behaviour of the staff completely ruined our experience. It was said that no one was allowed to film during the show, however, when some people in front of us started filming, the staff came over and shone their flashlights on them, blocking everyone's view. Surprisingly, they even shone the light on us (even though we weren't filming) and told us to tap on the people in front of us to stop them. This is not our responsibility and was very inappropriate and unprofessional. This constant distraction prevented us from fully enjoying the show, which was really disappointing considering how special the evening was supposed to be. Additionally, the staff were extremely rude, it felt like we were all prisoners and they were the police.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time at this Hollywood venue! The space is impressively large, with multiple levels that give everyone a great view of the stage. Located inside the mall, it's easy to find and has a fun, lively atmosphere. However, parking can be pricey, as I paid $20 for a spot in one of the nearby structures.

Yelp
Food: 4* Service: 4* Ambiance: 5* This is a smaller more intimate venue designed for the Oscar's to limit how many people could attend. The audience is smaller, as is the back of house venues, offices, and dressing rooms. A great place to see an event, and if you are lucky enough to have seen the Oscar's here, a very memorable experience.

Yelp
A theatre I've fantasized being in for YEARS. As someone who's obsessed with The Oscars, being here for the Ballet was a dream. It absolutely exceeded my expectations. Pictures of recipients throughout the theatre and bathrooms on every level. Very pretty and comfortable seats. We were in the mezzanine and had a great view and I'm sure it's a great view from any seat, just one of those kinds of theatres. Snacks and drinks were pricey but that's expected. $20 for all day parking which isn't bad for LA. I can't wait to come back here!!!

Yelp
We came here to see a conversation with Hillary Clinton and I was really surprised by how nice, well organized and comfortable this venue is. I was soooo looking forward to the event but also kind of dreading the experience because we knew it was going to be a huge crowd and usually these types of events are pretty miserable to sit through. From the crowd control upon entering (you can enter on the first floor OR the second floor, which keeps the lines moving smoothly), to the placement and condition of the bathrooms (located as you enter and throughout the theatre - ladies rooms are clean and adequately sized) to the staff (helpful and also diligent - they immediately stopped those that were trying to record with their phones, which I appreciate as it's so distracting and rude), this was a great place to see a show. The seats are actually comfortable with a just so slight recline. There is enough room in the rows to allow people to pass relatively easily. And get this - the place even SMELLS good... it's like a luxury resort that is having a signature scent piped throughout. Truly surprised how easy it was to get in and get OUT of this venue. Really well organized and a pleasure to attend the event here.

Yelp
The Nutcracker at Xmas is a great tradition. Find a young person and introduce them to this wonderful experience. The theater has a cool vibe, great architecture, it's well run with a friendly staff, and easy parking in the garage underneath.

Yelp
This is a pretty small theater but we enjoyed it. You don't even need front seats to get a good view. We had somewhere in the middle and were able to see everything well. Came for the Avatar concert and it was simply amazing. They sold merch on the bottom floor and the bathrooms were pretty crowded at intermission. Overall I like this theater to watch shows. No real issues and good experience.

Yelp
Excellent facilities the theatre was huge the parking structure was massive and hard to navigate originally but after a few turn you find your way to the elevator- which is slow but they also have escalators which helps. I enjoyed the he ESPYs and the bar was convenient but definitely over priced but hey at least they offer beverages. We had great seating on top level balcony- thanks again ESPN for loving on our military families!

Yelp
I like walking up the grand stairway of this theatre and seeing all of the names of the past recipients of Best Picture Oscar Winners on the Art Deco columns. It is fun to imagine what it is like to walk on the red carpet that is draped on these stairs on Oscar night. Dolby Theatre (formally Kodak Theatre) is located on Hollywood Blvd next to Grauman's Chinese Theatre and across the street from El Capitan Theatre. It has been home to the annual Academy Awards ceremony since 2002. As you walk up the stairway, you can head over to the shopping complex next door and get a view of the Hollywood sign. The Dolby Theatre holds over 3,000 people. Years ago, I was staying in Los Angeles during the weekend of the Academy Awards ceremony and got a glimpse of the glitz and glamour of what Oscar night is like in Hollywood. There was a huge buzz around town and it was fun to be around. They decorate the outside of Dolby Theatre by putting up red drapery everywhere. The grand stairway is covered with the famous long red carpet for celebrities to walk on before entering the theatre.

Yelp
A beautiful place, very elegant, restrooms are nice and clean, the place is a fine theatre where we enjoyed our night watching George Lopez film his new Amazon special . The seating was great even up on top, I will definitely return to see a show or what have you here.

Yelp
This review is for the venue and not the performances. The theater is very well maintained with hardly any markings or chips on the seats, and no ripped fabric or frayed carpet you find at most theaters. It's nice to see. Of course, if you host the Oscars, you better have a good-looking theater as high-definition TV will show everything and I doubt the stars would put up with it. Getting in was very easy and the staff couldn't have been nicer as they pulse you through metal detectors. Sadly, the patrons and staff ruined my last concert. A few people just "had" to video the show, which we were warned several times wasn't allowed. OK, annoying cell phones are one thing, but when the staff comes around to flash lights in the faces of people with their phones out, it's even more annoying!! First, because there is no way for them to just focus on the person before they turn on the light, they light up everyone around them. And how does a flashing light in a dark theater NOT pull your attention from the show? If the person is behind you, it's like someone turned on the lights in the back of a movie theater. I get it, you need to protect the performer's rights, but there has to be a better way. Like keeping track of who's filming, then remove them at intermission! To ruin the performance for everyone else should never be an option. Or do what they did when I attended a movie premier, everyone has to look up their phones! Anything but the flashing of lights in people's faces. 2nd, and not the theater's fault, getting to your car in the parking garage on the way out is a joke and almost caused some injuries. Going down the escalators, one level was so jammed with people, that there was almost a domino effect of people falling over because there was no place for people to go getting off the escalator! I had to yell "Keep moving" and so did the person behind me. There was an employee helping people pay for the parking, but there should have been someone guiding people to prevent this from happening. in the end, the concert was amazing and the vibe of the venue is just cool. Now if people would just follow the rules, it would be an incredible experience.

Yelp
12/19/24 I have lived in Southern California for a very long time although yesterday was my first time at the this theatre or in fact in front of the Chinese theatre next door. I found this Dolby theater to be very impressive inside. My only disappointment was all the street vendors all along the sidewalk outside on Hollywood Boulevard. We honestly don't need any street vendors along the sidewalks cooking greasy hotdogs and Mexican food, nor selling nik naks. Plus there are nasty hustlers, hookers, and crack heads all out along Hollywood Boulevard that makes it unpleasant to dress up and walk over to the theater or to the few remaining nice restaurants along Hollywood Boulevard. I guess these are the reasons why I haven't come up to Hollywood nor Hollywood Boulevard over the past 30 years because nothing there has really improved nor felt safe and clean. Sorry, I am only giving a 2 star due to the outside environment on the street, not to the theater. The city of Hollywood and Los Angeles needs to really clean up Hollywood Boulevard from all street vendors completely, and to attract back nice restaurants and install safety police along the strip.

Yelp
This is THE WORST theater to suffer through plays or musicals in LA, bar none. Arriving at the Dolby is a nightmare. It is so poorly run and so terribly organized that getting in is hard enough. Then you get to your seat (finally) and it gets worse. The orchestra doesn't afford good views of the stage - it's like nobody planned to allow people to be able to see. A vista from above is no better. Even the very first row of the balcony is a mile from the stage. Parking is a complete zoo. Plan to spend an ETERNITY trying to leave this garbage venue. So why have I seen so many shows here? At first because I didn't know any better and thought there was something I was missing. And more recently, because the Pantages forces me to as part of their subscription. But now I just give those tickets away. It's just not worth it. Zero stars. Do not recommend. Would not return.

Yelp
We took the kids to watch Spider-Man: Across the spider-verse. What an amazing experience for our third and fourth graders. We had a great time. The snacks were expensive so we couldn't treat the students. The staff was great, helpful and friendly. Just for one person, didn't have any patience for big groups(students).

Yelp
good acoustics, view is nice from almost everywhere, seats are roomy and comfortable for a venue. security has been timely both times I've been here - did not arrive too early and didn't have to wait long for either show personally I always get event parking when J purchase the event ticket and just park at ovation

Yelp
I went with family to see Riverdance 1:00 pm show at the theater. I enjoyed the show very much. I sat at the P.. section. (I don't know the exact spelling) row J. It was easy to go through the entrance passing security checks. I saw some water bottles by the trash so therefore no outside food and drinks including water. I did see a couple things a reason not a five star though very nice place. It says in the signs, inside first page of program and mentioned before show no recording of any kind but saw a man front of me five seats to right recording first seven minutes with a camcorder (not the phone) and people behind me were talking a lot during the show. Restrooms had a line during intermission therefore be patient. (This is me selfie right before the show started back again during intermission) Hope to come back sometime.

Yelp
I the "Hairspray " musical just last week at the Dolby Theater and it was amazing :D ! I the ambiance of the theater, even though I have to admit that it looks a lot simpler in person compared to how glamorous it looks on TV when big awards ceremonies, like the Oscars this year, have been hosted there :) ! I love everything about watching my very first musical at the Dolby :D ! Overall, it is pretty easy and straightforward to get to on the weekdays. But I would imagine that it might.m be much more hectic on the weekends. I opted to come and watch the musical on a weekday, just for better ticket pricing especially since I wanted to sit in the orchestra section for a change :) ! "Hairspray" was absolutely amazing :D !! And it brought back wonderful memories of the movie musical that came out in 2007 :D !! I even treated myself to the signature Corny Collins' cocktail :) ! The entire ambiance and the inside elegance of the Dolby made this such a memorable and fun experience :D ! The only thing I think could be better is if the Dolby would be willing to validate parking for people who see shows or attend events at their venue. There are restaurants and a movie theater (in the same complex as the Dolby) that validates parking so you only have to pay a certain amount for parking. But the Dolby doesn't validate. So if you park in that shopping center parking structure, you just have to prepare to pay $6 per hour, with a total max of $20.

Yelp
Not what I expected. I always pictured it as a freestanding and very glamorous theatre from the outside. Instead it is rather plain looking and you find shops and restaurants adjoined. Pretty and interesting to look at are the movie titles that won Oscar's over the years imbedded in stone on pillars.

Yelp
Got to see the Kobe Mural which was super dope and amazing. It's on top of the mall and overlooks Downtown Hollywood. I was so happy I got to see this. Thank you

Yelp
My husband and I were on a Hollywood tour so we had a limited amount of time to see the Dolby theater. Course during the morning it isn't open for performances but I was truly blown away as we rode up the escalators to see how the columns were engraved with the best picture winners from the beginning. In case you are wondering about the more recent winners they are on the other side of these same columns as you make your way down. It's hard to believe this is the place they host the Academy Awards. It is part of the Ovation mall where you can shop, get something to eat and of course sneak a peek at the Hollywood sign out on the terrace. Note: guided tours are available. I'm sure this theater would be spectacular on the inside and would be great to see a performance there. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to at least see part of it and will have a better understanding of what it is like with all the celebrities on Oscar night. Located on Hollywood Blvd Walk of Fame near the Chinese theater.

Yelp
I went last night to Dolby theater to attend the Italian classical trio concert. The theater itself: Is one of Hollywood's most remarkable and legendary place. It is where the Oscars are held each year. The location is strategic , it is just across from El Capitan Theater, Ghirardelli , Jimmy Kimmel and very close to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The concert was heavenly. The italian classical trio are Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero. I am a huge fan of these tenors (Piero and Ignazio)and baritone (Gianluca) The night was exceptional. These young tenors are charismatic and talented. Yesterday was their last night in the US. I am extremely happy to see them again and enjoy their heavenly performance.

Yelp
What a great place to experience live entertainment I've been here a few times but my most recent visit was with my kids for Bluey's Play. The theatre is beautiful and even towards the back the views and sound was fantastic. The staff was respectful to both kids and adults. Helpful with taking family photos so poor old dad is included in the shot and patient with kids trying to decide which tasty snack they wanted. It was very cool even while wearing masks to see how happy the ushers were during the Bluey performance to not only help the massive game of Keepy-Uppy but be mindful of sections of the audience who had yet to get a chance to participate. Thanks again for a fantastic time

Yelp
A beautiful theater. It has really good food and drinks. The bartender was super nice and helpful. I recommend getting here early, having s drink or snack. I also had a delicious cookie. I got the double pour of wine! Plus you will avoid long security lines. They recommend to arrive an hour early. I got there about 40 mins early and it wasn't so crowded like the Pantages gets. There are plenty of bathroom stalls for intermission. I always worry the limes will be too long at events like this but it was okay. I feel I can see well from any seat. I saw Riverdance here! There is parking downstairs for $20. It was a nice time.

Yelp
I'm not sure how they call themselves the "Dolby" theater when you can buy cheap ipod speakers that sound better than that entire theater. Just saw Batman in concert. The orchestra sounded great but you couldn't hear the movie, none of the actual sound or background sounds that make the film amazing. The only thing you could hear was the actors voices at a high pitch. From what we could tell they had 2 cheap speakers for the entire theater. That theater should have been filled with state of the art rich surround sound. You couldn't even hear the bullets firing from the guns it was so bad. Imagine batman crashing through the glass ceiling with absolutely no sound effects whatsoever. I'm going to try my best to get my money back from my credit card company. Other than the orchestra the whole thing sounded like they were playing the film on a $50 sound bar. The 'Dolby' Theater? Really????

Yelp
I came here years and years ago when it was the Kodak Theatre and I don't remember the venue whatsoever. Located in the center of Hollywood the easiest parking is at Ovation Hollywood (formerly Hollywood & Highland), but hell to get out of the garage and deal with Hollywood traffic and Hollywood Bowl traffic too. Parking is not validated. To save yourself some time when the show is over pre-pay your ticket while you are at the venue if you arrive early or during intermission. Masks are required while inside unless you are actively drinking or eating in designated areas only. To avoid waiting in line during intermission you can pre-order your drinks and pick it up at the side. They do check for bags and you will be going through metal detectors as well. There are plenty of bathroom stalls so you do not have to worry about lines being too long. I saw Pretty Woman here and the inside is very intimate and every seat in the house will be a good one.

Yelp
I saw Riverdance this evening and it was awesome. If you're thinking about going to riverdance, just do it. I just wanted to post on here to plead the staff of Dolby Theatre to be more diligent about recording during performance. I sat one row behind one guy who live steamed the entire performance and only stopped once when asked, another person kept filming. It was distracting and really took away from my experience. I know this is more of a product of the people who were sitting there, I just would've liked to see something more happened after people, ushers included, kept asking them to stop.

Yelp
*This review is only for my experience at the Dolby Theater regarding Paleyfest - past and present. Paleyfest used to be SO much fun. Just a few years back, you could approach the stage after the Q&A and get autographs and photos with the stars. Now, they have put up a barricade so you can't even get near the stage. I was talking to one of the writers of the Paleyfest I went to this year and he was pretty annoyed that the Dolby Theatre put up the barricade and by doing so, took away the choice from the panel to be able to interact with the fans and give autographs and take photos. Also, if the barricade wasn't enough, the security was intense. I asked one of the security if he knew if they were going to let the panel sign autographs and he simply ignored me and just looked at his work buddy and laughed. I also heard a few people from the crowd complaining about the security as well. Also, the panel was surrounded by security immediately after the Q&A and whisked away (see photo). I was able to shout to a couple of the actors as they were being run off by security and they waved and tried to say hello back. You could tell they were annoyed as well. To my knowledge, all of the Paleyfest events this year had the same barricade. The only way I'd go back to Paleyfest in the future is if they made it like it used to be. It was so worth it then. I have photos, videos, and autographs from the cast of TWD, AHS, and Better Caul Saul. Those were the days!

Yelp
I've been here a few times to see Chris Rock and a few other shows. Usually checking in and out at the theatre is pretty easy. The staff is pretty nice and they always assist you to your seat. It's pretty organized and getting food and drinks inside is also pretty quick and easy. They are also cool about having a roped off area for you to check your phone and taking it out of the baggy. My only complaints are that the theatre is a little outdated and is in need of renovation. Also, the parking situation is horrible when leaving. Once a show is over and the crowd rushes out, all the elevators become super congested. And leaving the parking structure can take forever since everyone is kinda stuck in. But other than that we usually have an overall good experience.

Yelp
A spot for all movie buffs. Outside looks like a couple differenr movie sets. Tour buses stop here and there was quit a few people around. You can get to the 2nd/3rd floor for better views.

Yelp
It's nice to be back to the theater again! They really enforce the masks required & proof of vaccination. The staffs will walk around the theater to remind people. They still sell beverages & snacks. There is a designated area for eating & drinking.

The theatre is always so enormous to look at but with the right artist it can feel small and intimate. Tonight it was that with Suzy "Eddie" Izzard performing.

Yelp
I purchased tickets for Paleyfest: The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and spent about $500 for some good seats. The event was scheduled for Saturday, April 20th. I just happened to visit their website and the people at Dolby Theater decided to change the date to Sunday, April 21st. They didn't communicate this with me or send me an email letting me know about the date change. My wife and I already had something planned on Sunday. I tried to to talk to a real person and it was impossible. The emails I received from them indicated that I would have to take up this matter with the ticket place that sold me the tickets. This has nothing to do with the selling of tickets but everything to do with them screwing up the dates and not letting their guests know. I will think twice about going to this place next time.

Yelp
Saw a performance of Shen Yun at the Dolby, it was an amazing theater. Parking is a little pricey.

Yelp
Thanks to my sister, I was lucky enough to sit in Box 10. Now I never want to sit anywhere else. We saw the production of Annie and it was wonderful, especially from our seats. Expect the refreshments to be ridiculously overpriced. I was starving and bought a sandwich trio that was stale. That and chips...$30. Next time I will get a pretzel outside of the venue. Besides that, it was great.

Yelp
My first time at the Dolby Theater to see the Nutcracker. The show was very good. The three stars are for that. The theater is very disorganized. I will tell you why! 1. The performance was supposed to be 2-3:30 according to our tickets and Ticketmaster. It started at 2:16 and ended at 4:10. There was an intermission as well which they had not mentioned. 2. People kept coming in long after the show started. At 2:30, a party of four arrived and completely blocked our view until they were seated in the dark. Some newly arrived person in the back row was arguing with someone already seated over a seat! Complete chaos. Close the doors for God's sake! 3. The seats on mezzanine 2 were very tight and small. It was also very steep. If you are afraid of heights, do not try. 4. Parking entrance is on Highland. There were plenty of spots to park. There were not enough pay machines though! I only spotted one with a line of 20 something people. It took me a while to pay. Also, going out took a while too. There was a line! If you plan on staying more than 2 hours, buy your parking pass online to skip the pay line. Parking staff is very nice.

Yelp
Had an Amazing night out at the Dolby Theater. Took in Chris Rock Live. He did not disappoint. Great Show. Parking was close n reasonable. Security was on point and not pushy. Bar service was card only no cash. Kind of a bummer but I understand why. Drinks were hittin. seating and video screens and sound were excellent. Over all Top Notch. We'll be back.

Yelp
Saw Rent here a few weeks ago, it was my first time in this theater. Beautiful location, easy to find, relatively easy parking, felt safe and secure, clean and overall just a great place. The employees were very helpful. Restrooms clean. I would see a show here again.

Yelp
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask too. It's optional. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place has some outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. They do not allow pets in their establishment unless it is a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located at H&H. Staff: The staff here at the shops are very welcoming and friendly. They accept both cash and credit cards at many stores. There is no credit card minimum. The staff within the Kodak Theater now the Dolby Theater are very helpful. I was here for a live taping of America's Got Talent.

Yelp
I went to the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre with my husband. He was nominated for Hair and Makeup for The Eyes Of Tammy Faye. We had an amazing experience at this venue. The theatre is gorgeous and huge with many levels. There were bars and snack stations setup on each floor. Everyone there was so nice. The bathrooms are also really nice and well maintained. The chairs in the theatre are reasonably comfortable and have drink holders although we were not allowed to bring drinks into the venue. The stage is rather small but the set design was amazing with all sorts of moving parts and a big digital screen in the background. The Ball Room is really cool too. It is big and holds lots of tables with a great sound system. To top it all off my husband won the Oscar!! It was a once in a lifetime experience and I had a great time at the theatre.

Yelp
Love the Dolby! So many awesome musicals here! This is in the heart of hollywood! I would make sure to never park in their parking area and instead go to a near by garage or lot. The parking is horrible and you can get stuck for hours trying to get out . They also dont allow any outside food or drink they will check your purse and take everything away

Yelp
This theatre is very classy. I saw Annie in the orchestra. Helen Hunt was sitting next to us! I saw a Paul Newman star packed charity show here too. It was amazing. The seats were mezzanine but still good! This play had Julia Robert's and tons of A list stars! Paul Newman gave out his popcorn and lemonade for free!!! Both experiences were excellent. The seats are nice and comfy even. The staff was very professional.

Yelp
I love this theater! I've seen Annie & Hairspray here & just love the theater. It's not hard to find, the seats are so cushiony & comfortable, and they have tons of clean bathroom stalls. I haven't gotten snacks or beverages downstairs, so I can't speak to that. But, if you do want any, i recommend buying before the show begins as the line gets pretty long during intermission. I definitely recommend watching a musical or other show here! They have a strict no outside food policy here - they will make you toss anything before going through security.

Yelp
I love this theatre. They value security, and you need to wear your mask at all times. The staff is friendly and always there to assist you. The theatre's clean and spacious. You can purchase parking ahead of time.

Yelp
Decided to take a day off at the Dolby Theatre, the iconic venue where the annual Oscars nomination is celebrated In the 2000s, the government faced a serious problem, despite the fact that Los Angeles was equipped with all kinds of entertainment complexes, but there was still no place in the city where an international level event could be held. This is how the Dolby Theater was built. The theater is famous for its prestigious Oscar ceremonies. The famous red carpet and avenue of stars, everything is here! This is one of the largest theater halls in the world , it can accommodate about 3400 people. This is a five-level palace, which is decorated with crystal chandeliers and incredible decorative ornaments made on mahogany. Impressions from the visit were positive. At 7:30 the show of The Godfather began, accompanied by a symphony orchestra. In October, this great film turned 50 years old and in fact it was this film that saved the whole of Hollywood from total bankruptcy and breathed a new spark of life into the cinema industry. The ticket for it cost $140. The seats were quite close to the cinema, so I could see the musicians playing and the picture itself without any problems. I did not like the seats , because they are located too close to each other. I literally heard every breath of my neighbor, and I myself was ashamed to eat popcorn, as it crunched loudly in my teeth and sometimes fell from my hands, as is usually happen with popcorn Then there were big problems with parking. A parking spot costs $20, however they say its only 5 dollars for those, who buy ticket to the cinema, but that's ok. Hell started when all those 3,000 people headed to their cars after the movie and there was a traffic jam for an hour! Despite all this, the day was perfect for me and I relaxed my body and soul
