On the Grid : Dolcezza

"Dolcezza’s gelato follows old recipes, but is filled with the freshest ingredients. The shop takes pride in sourcing its ingredients locally, and the flavor profile benefits greatly from it. Take a break from a hot day with one of their visually rich gelatos, or warm up in the winter with an earthy cup of joe from their partner, Stumptown Coffee Roasters." - Friendly Design Co.

GEM! Stopped in on a very hot DC day (90+ degrees!) and this cone was exactly what I needed. I got a small with two scoops: blueberry lavender and black & white cookie batter… on a sugar cone. The flavors were super creamy and interesting without being too sweet. Preferred the black and white cookie. Ended up needing a cup because the melt was real, but hey, not their fault on one of the hottest days of the year. The shop itself is adorable with exposed brick, cozy counter seating, and a solid coffee setup too if you’re craving more than gelato. Loved that the flavor board had unique combos like pineapple honey lime and roasted strawberry. Perfect for a solo sweet treat or a cute spot to wrap up a date. Will definitely be back to try more flavors!

An awesome small coffee and gelato spot. While in DC, I stopped in for my daily latte and almond croissant. The coffee was excellent and the croissant was heavenly. I was able to sit at a community table and enjoy my coffee and croissant. The staff was super helpful and efficient.

Honestly never really finish my ice cream when I go out to places but this place had such unique and delicious flavors I finished my two scoops so quick. I got the double fudge chocolate something and strawberry. Vibes were very chill too

The best almond croissant and blueberry matcha! I got regular size blueberry matcha and an almond croissant and paid 15$ - a little overpriced. One star deducted is for that reason. Nice ambience and I usually don’t like matcha that much much this one was fire!

Amazing gelato and coffee!! The employees are also super nice and helpful. They also made an effort to chat and recommend gelato flavors to us as well. Very welcoming atmosphere. Definitely wanna come back here

I recently visited Dolcezza and, judging by the long line, I expected it to be good—and it mostly lived up to the hype. The dark chocolate fudge gelato was delicious: very rich and sugary, but definitely satisfying if you have a sweet tooth. The portion was on the smaller side and, honestly, a bit expensive for what you get. I asked for a tricolor sorbet for my daughter, but unfortunately, they didn’t do it. I suppose they were just too busy to accommodate special requests at the time, which was a little disappointing. Overall, Dolcezza offers quality gelato and a lively atmosphere, but be prepared for a wait, higher prices, and the possibility that not all requests can be met during busy hours. Still, it’s a nice treat if you’re in the area!

Dolcezza has many locations but this one is my favorite. Coffee shop Ang gelato shop is a great combo! I love the vibes in here. There are always people meeting or studying. They could have more seating but the lack of seating contributes to the ambience. Definitely come in between meals!

Cute and hip location. Friendly staff and gluten free options available for the gelato. Interesting and out of the ordinary flavours. Also doubles as a coffee house.
