Fan Favorite Dolci Gelati Returns This Month to Takoma Park - Eater DC

"Local chain Dolci Gelati is making a comeback in Takoma Park this month, this time attached to Roscoe’s Neapolitan Pizzeria. The Italian gelateria’s chef Gianluigi Dellaccio and partner Marcello Minna cut ties late last year, causing Dolci to move out of Minna’s restaurant Trattoria da Lina (7000 Carroll Avenue). Meanwhile, Minna opened his own ice cream shop inside. Under a new deal, Dolci will move back into the neighborhood by teaming up with another Italian restaurant nearby, Roscoe’s (7040 Carroll Avenue). The newly-renovated space, previously used for private parties, will sport its own Dolci entrance, a gelato counter with seating, small tables and chairs, and its signature lime green walls. An opening is scheduled for some time in June. Dolci’s new digs will serve 12 flavors of gelato, including vegan varieties and sorbet, with desserts like tiramisu and chocolate mousse." - Tierney Plumb

Excellent ice cream for a fair price (non DC). Place is small, but you can stroll outside on the nice small mall.

Great neighborhood ice cream treat shop. It's soo good we all had a second round and hit the road to burn off. The place is small but lots of sits outside within an area that is full of interesting small business.

Dolci, which has two locations, has probably the best Gelato in the DC Area. Takoma Park is kind of blessed with its presence. While its main location is in Shaw, this one is right in my neighborhood! I have never had a bad Gelato here, but my favorite of all time is probably their rum raisin, which is otherworldly if you see them offering it. Either way this place is highly recommended.

Delicious gelato - try the cinnamon-based Biscoff flavor! Whenever I saw the Dolci Gelati truck around Metro Center in DC, I always stopped by and grabbed a cup of gelato during my lunch break! So glad there's a storefront in Takoma Park conveniently located right next to Roscoe's Pizza, perfect for dessert! Out of a dozen or so flavors, I'm glad I picked the cinnamon Biscoff flavor. The Dark chocolate gelato looked pretty tempting. Most of the flavors are classic with a few unique seasonal flavors like Cherry Blossom, Blood Orange, and Rose. The flavors at the store are not as exotic as those listed on the website. You can get 2 flavors in a scoop and don't pay any extra! I didn't realize this until after I got my scoop and paid. Next time! Excited to come back and try something new!

The gelato is very good. I especially like the salted caramel. But it is a bit pricey, and the space is not particularly attractive or comfortable, and the service can be slow. So if all you care about is yummy gelato, this is the place for you. But if you're fussy about atmosphere I would recommend Rome or Florence over Takoma Park.

So delicious on a hot Saturday I saw so many people eating gelato. I ask and was directed to a small store to the right of roscoes pizza. You can almost miss it because it looks like it is a part of Roscoes. All I can say is Yum!!!😊
