Loved their non dairy options!!! So so creamy. I loved the dark chocolate especially, my partner got blueberry mint and enjoyed it. Our friends got dairy flavors and they enjoyed them too!! Truly something for everyone and the staff are so welcoming and nice.

Food safety issue! I hardly ever leave reviews, but I’m doing this as a public service. The chocolate mousse I ordered was expired and had mold on it! This is a serious matter and absolutely unacceptable. Here’s the pictures.

Incredible gelato! It was so great to see so many dairy free options that weren't just fruit. I got the vanilla bean and passion fruit dairy free sorbettos. My pup also got his very own gelato cup too! It's so cool that they have doggie friendly gelato for sale. The staff helping me was so friendly. One star off because it smelled really bad inside, like sewage.

Delicious ice cream! The Honey Marscapone Fig flavor is a must-try. Plus, it’s the perfect consistency for gelato. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Samples galore! The staff really loves it when you try samples. They encourage it, and they're super nice. Best gelato in the dmv area. They have a large number of flavors, traditional flavors as well as unique and original ones. Can't wait to go back! Need a few more trips there.

Delicious gelato shop that also has a few vegan flavors as well (made with oat milk). I had their coconut and taro flavors and throughly enjoyed them. Compared to other DC ice cream shops, it is a little on the pricier end, but they do have great tasting flavors!

The lady working was so kind and let me sample a lot of flavors! I ended up going with one scoop fig marscapone and another scoop of birthday cake. Loved the vibe of the store even, but you have to get lucky to snag the indoor seating (fits 2 people). They did bring out outdoor seating as well (two tables, two chairs for each table).

Just okay. Not really an Italian gelato shop. The gelato itself was not very light and smooth but also not creamy. Staff not unfriendly but not a smile was given.

I love that you can get two flavors in a small and it was still a decent scoop size for each flavor. Got the pistachio and hazelnut and both flavors were nutty with a hint of sweetness but not overly so. The gelato was creamy and didn't melt super quickly. Overall a solid sweet treat!

Went in to ask if they validated the parking but she said no. I took the time to try a few flavors before leaving to go to Giant to make a purchase to validate the parking. I had decided but didn't want to carry it in Giant. I quickly returned and got the Baci single in a waffle cone. It was delicious!! Omg. So glad I don't live near this place! The gelato was creamy and the cone was crunchy! She was super friendly.

There is ample indoor seating to enjoy your desert inside and service was great! I didn't think the flavor I got (vegan toasted coconut) was that too special which is why I rated it a three. Based on reading other reviews, it seems it would still be worth trying out a different flavor.

Cute spot in Old Town Alexandria by Market Square. It has great gelato flavors, and also carry some vegan options and sorbetto. Like most gelato shops, you can sample to your heart's desire. I got strawberry lavender and tiramisu. The texture was okay, but a bit icy and not as creamy. Something that bothered me was finding a piece of hair inside my gelato! I was disappointed by my first gelato experience in DC. However, the girl who served me was friendly.

Got the stratiacella and passion fruit sorbet. Like that they do two flavors in one cup. Wish that the stratiechella had those more classic chocolate ribbons but the passion fruit was killer. Relatively fast service even though we were stuck behind a big group of kids. Perfect post dinner snack vibes.

We ordered two small cups of gelato which had two different flavors each! They had a bunch of interesting gelato flavors as well as sorbetto flavors. Some of the sorbetto flavors contained alcohol, which is great if you want that! Would definitely recommend this spot if you are looking for a sweet dessert! Staff was helpful and patient while we picked our flavors, and they also let us try some free samples.

Nice Gelato place . Ordered Sicilian Pistachio and Honey Mascarpone Fig . Enjoyed very much . Smooth and you can taste snd smell the pistachio & the fig . Nice place to visit .

Visited Dolce Gelati today, while I was in the Smithsonian Zoo in DC. It was similar to a food truck, that's what it looked like -- a small shop in the Zoo near the entrance. I sampled the chocolate gelato, then the mango sorbet, then the strawberry gelato. I was told their most popular gelato is the chocolate and strawberry ones, and mango for their sorbet. None of them was really a home run or stood out for me; food truck fare, really. I had the smallest size cup w/ strawberry gelato, and they overcharged me for it, as usual. Almost a $10 even. Pays to not order food at a tourist attraction, I guess, but what the heck -- I was in the mood for it. Gelato didn't suck, but it wasn't hot stuff either. Overpriced for the quantity, and quality wasn't great either. It is what it is, I guess.

Fantastic! Great location and got a scoop Of blackberry and another scoop of hazelnut crunch! Perfect consistency and a decent price for the area!

It was yummy but it's not real gelato! It was more of a mix between gelato and ice cream type consistency.

We were impressed that there were several DF options available, making us happy. My sister ordered the DF version of my parents flavors (chocolate and coffee), and said that it tasted better than "the original", which is rare for non dairy flavors. My brother ordered the Strawberry DF gelato, and said it was "one of the best he's ever had". Of course we had to order some type of caffeinated beverage, which were doppios, and was great. The staff was super helpful and personable and let us sample lots of flavors. Also the bathroom light didn't work, so all they had for lighting was a nightlight. So random but was so funny. We loved Dolci Gelti and would come back! ^@kamibites on Instagram

Absolutely love this place! The ambience is very peaceful and the service was amazing. You can try multiple samples and even get two flavors in a small. The options are really diverse and they even offer sorbet! Definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

So good we went twice. Loved that they made a non dairy version of their dark chocolate. Also really enjoyed the fruit sorbets. Not overly sweetened. Sadly the second time, the service was just so-so, they were sloppy with their gelato serving compared to the first time, where the girl was so enthusiastic and nice.

SO glad I stumbled upon this place because their gelato was fire! I don't consider myself a gelato person because I like my ice cream with more texture/chewiness and melts slower. However, their gelato exceeded my expectations! I got their dark chocolate flavor which was also vegan (made with oat milk). It was super smooooth and had a great texture! The chocolate flavors were pretty strong and I liked how it was *truly* dark chocolate / not overly sweet. I couldn't even tell it wasn't made with regular milk. It actually reminded me of this other vegan chocolate ice cream bar when I lived in LA. I also got to try a bit of the toasted coconut - pretty solid with strong flavors and little bites of coconut flakes. I went kinda close to closing time so the staff weren't the most excited to see me BUT they were still nice and patient when I asked to try flavors. Good amount of seating inside with some nice lighting ambiance at night. Would recommend trying their vegan and/or regular gelato!

They have amazing flavors here. Some of my favorites are Honey Mascarpone Fig, Biscoff, Mango Sorbet, and Bacio (chocolate hazelnut). Everything tastes fresh and has the perfect amount sweetness. Waffle cones and cookies are made fresh here and the tiramisu is EVERYTHING! The people here are nice and generous. A definite must-try in DC! It's a small shop with a couple of tables inside and a few small ones outside - ok for quieter days, but expect to hang outside on busier days like the weekends.

This place was just ok for me. The staff was nice but were like teenagers having their own drama in the back..pretty entertaining however, a bit too extra when you have customers. Also, the ice cream was alright. Had bits of freezer burn. Not sure if I'll be back.

I came to this place since I saw that it has a wide variety of flavors online, but when I arrived, the place only has one third of the flavors listed in the site. I got the hazelnut and the toasted coconut flavors, and although they taste okay, the ice cream does melt faster than normal, even during winter months. The one thing that I disliked when I get the cone is that the paper outside is glued to the cone, which makes portions of it inedible. Good service, but the food is 5.5/10.

I look forward to this gelato every time I perform at the Cherry Blossom Festival. My mom and I know the exact location and we make time to visit the cart every time. Pictured is the cherry blossom flavor which was meh and hidden is the matcha flavor which was very good. Looking forward to going back again!

The staff was really friendly and patient. The gelato was outstanding! Classic Pistachio is always a go-to, and DG didn't let me down.

I loved the gelato! It's a cute, little shop and the employees were super nice. I had the amarena cherry and peanut butter cup and it was a surprisingly nice combo.

How could I have missed this gem??!?!? I used to go to the Giant across the street at least once a week. I drove pass this spot every week, Monday through Friday going to work downtown and missed all this goodness. Do yourself a favor and stop by and get you some gelati? OMG!! Ya'll it's so delicious. The server, I can't remember her name, was so pleasant. We stopped by when they were getting ready to close and she still welcomed us in and didn't rush us. Great customer service in these days is rare!! She was definitely a jewel. I'd revisit for the customer service alone. You know by now that the kid has allergies. They even had options for him, another added bonus. Since I love Biscoff, I got that flavor. It was amazing. I'm drooling right now as I type this review. Let's just say it was so good, I went back in the week and got another scoop. Hush... don't tell hubby. He doesn't know!

I catered gelato for my daughter's engagement from dolci gelati. We absolutely loved it! We got 5 flavors (salted caramel, mint chocolate chip, pistachio, dark chocolate and strawberry lychee). They bring it in a cute cart. Our guests are still raving about it! Thank you dolci gelati for making my daughter's engagement party extra special.

So good!! Super fresh and delicious. Reasonably priced, I recommend getting the sundae. I got chocolate hazelnut and pistachio--it was delicious

If you like Gelato, this place is worth trying. It is a cute store across the street from Giant. There is outdoor seating. The owner won the Gelato festival a few years ago. His skills extend beyond making gelato. Street parking is nearby (free). The metro at convention center is a decent walk. The area is lovely. I would suggest making a date for gelato and exploring the area.

Friends loved the gelato, and I'm not much of a sweets guy but you can still cool off with some blended lemonade frozen drinks (lavender, mango, passion fruit, etc). Fun cafe, although a bit pricey they do a great job with their menu.

Got the Vanilla vegan gelato and it was just okay. The flavor was pretty weak and the texture was not super creamy (parts of it tasted icy and slimy at the same time). I wish the vanilla flavor was stronger- I could really only taste the oatmilk. Will be back to try the non vegan flavors

Well after dinner we went to have dessert and it is my first time and I wish they would give more information. It was yummy I had the one with chocolate gelato with hazelnut and my fiance had a ok one. It is worth going too.

Excellent service - my family rolled in last Sunday afternoon with seven adults and five children and the sole woman serving the gelati and sorbet didn't even flinch. She gave samples to anyone who asked and patiently got everyone served. She smiled and was gracious and remained amazingly calm. Excellent gelati and sorbet - between the MANY varieties and flavors that our group tried (you can order multiple flavors in a single cup!) there was not a single one that was not liked. Excellent price - Really good gelati and sorbet for a very good price!

The staff was so friendly and helpful when I stopped by yesterday evening. Her cheerful attitude really brightened my experience. This has been a go-to local gelato shop of choice for a while - they have a great variety of flavors as well as nondairy / vegan options. I ordered the honey marscapone fig and bacio on a sugar cone and my guest had the vegan toasted coconut and vegan dark chocolate on a sugar cone. Can't wait to come back!

The staff is super friendly and very hardworking. She allowed us to sample flavors. While she was taking our order she was juggling troubleshotting an ubereats order but still took care of us while she was clearly stressed as the only person in the store at that time- kudos to her! The flavors were all really amazing and delicious- you'll definitely find something you're into- also gluten free options. They unfortunately don't serve those popsicles any more. But the nice thing I appreciate is if you order a small cup - which you can choose two flavors - the server is super generous and the gelato overflows the cup! Yum!!

We are sorry for not being able to serve Dolci Gelati product at Unusual Company anymore. We helped have served the product since the beginning and now because of the owner's decision to raise prices and charge delivery fees without prior approval we had to more on to another high-end supplier of Gelato & Sorbetto. This has allowed Unusual Company to save money and not raise the price per cup to our wonderful customers. We hope the very best of luck to the owner and his company.

Best & most authentic gelato you'll find outside of Italy! With a huge array of vegan/non dairy options as well!

I came to this new gelato place in this newly developed area with the understanding that they had quite a broad variety of flavors, based on their website. I was disappointed, but only mildly, to find they weren't all in stock, and that the place was out of waffle cones as well. However, the flavors I did try were quality stuff; a chocolate with candied orange and a seasonal peppermint that were both excellent. They had a decent selection of vegan flavors as well for those who prefer. Conversely, their mousse has gelatin in it so I'll steer clear, but there are a variety of confections on offer. Since this location wasn't as big as I'd hoped, I may visit another location before I come back here.

I was going to the Giant in the area when I decided I wanted something sweet and Dolci Gelati Cafe showed up nearby when i searched on yelp. Luckily for, it was right across giant. I assumed they only had gelato but boy was I was wrong. They have gelato, hand dipped gelato pops, cookies, cookie sandwiches, cakes, macarons, cannolis, coffee, and much more. Definitely a great place if you have a sweet tooth. I ordered a gelato cookie sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie, red velvet cookie, peanut butter cup gelato all around in chocolate chip topping. The cookie sandwich was good. The cookies were soft and had big chunks of chocolate but the sandwich does fall apart after one bite. All the ice cream falls out so it gets really messy. Dolci Gelati Cafe is a great gelato shop near the convention that you should definitely try. I'll definitely try the hand dipped gelato pop next time I'm here!!

Really cute little bakery. I stopped in and decided to get a double scoop with two different flavors including stracietella. It was really good but was on the icy side, not as smooth as what I have had in Europe but it was comparable.

Went for a late night dessert and got a medium cup of Nutella and lemon sorbet. Portions were very generous and loved the flavors!

What separates this place from other Gelato places? The Biscoff. If you're a fan of coffee flavors then you must try their Biscoff. It has a buttery, coffee, cookie-like flavor. I mixed it with their hazelnut gelato and I literally died and went to gelato heaven. Wow! I'm so glad I asked which flavors were popular and tried each and every one. The only negative here is that I want to try more flavors next time, but I may end up getting the Biscoff and hazelnut every time. *Shrugs* Biscoff for life! I definitely recommend stopping by here if you're around the way.

Pretty good gelato, but expensive. The flavors were all pretty good. My son asked me how gelato is different from ice cream... I said I like the texture and the true-to-life flavor. Chocolate should taste like your eating a good chocolate bar. Strawberry should taste like your biting into a ripe, super-sweet strawberry. And the texture should be dense and gooey. Dolci was pretty good on both counts. I did notice that the flavors got kinda old the more I ate (diminishing marginal returns), so it was maybe not quite as good as you'll find in Italy, where it's delicious I til you hit the bottom of the cup.

I tried a whole bunch of flavors but the ones I ended up getting were a sorbet , as well as a coffee and a chocolate ice cream. Service was pretty good and it was quiet on a nice Sunday There's no parking except on the street. So I'd recommend if you come here make it an Uber or Lyft or you're going to pay through the roof. my main issue is they didn't have Wi-Fi at all which was open just a little bit strange for an ice cream shop where you're kind of expected to sit and chill out No pun intended Overall if I was in the area I would definitely come back again

They advertise having a frozen yogurt but we drove for 30 min finding out there's isn't at all...

This is my favorite gelato place in DC. As a person who lived in Rome for 6 months, I can confidently say that this place is MUCH BETTER THAN PITANGO. Their gelato's taste and quality is beyond amazing. You actually feel like you are eating the flavor. They also have very cool and creative flavor combinations. They display other italian desserts (like tiramisu) however i havent tried them; because I get distracted with their gelato. My favorite flavor of all time is the PISTACHIO. However, I believe their truck's pistachio taste different (worse) than their in-store pistachio flavor.

Dolci Gelati Por Vida! I say. I wasn't aware of this cute little shop (the chandeliers and wood tables were gorg) until my Yelp DC Fam brought me here. Located amongst a mixed development area, this all-glass gelati shop features much more than gelato. Fun Fact: Gelati is the plural word for gelato. Why yes I did look that up to see if there was a difference haha. Dolci Gelati features gelato, gelato pops, sorbet, and savory sandwiches! I was wanting to try the prosciutto mozarrela panini but sadly they were out for the day. BUMMER. For those of y'all that are Vegan, they even offer Vegan gelato options for you to enjoy which is always nice. Everyone should be able to get their sweet tooth fixin' I say! A magnitude of flavor offerings can sometimes be a tad overwhelming but it was much appreciated how Dolci allows you to sample multiple flavors before biting the bullet and committing to not one, but two flavors! That's right folks... no matter the size you order, you can get a half/half gelati creation. Damn right I'ma get my cake and eat it too (however the saying goes). I opted for a full serving of their lemon sorbet as my friends grabbed a two flavor creation. Before y'all start to be like- umm Tomas what about the gelato?!- I got that too because I grabbed a mini gelato pop! If you're still reading this review then PLEASE, for the love of fellow dessert connoisseurs, grab 1 or 3 of these beautiful angels. After much deliberation, I opted for the salted caramel gelato pop and was shocked that there's much more to the process. After you select your "pop of choice" you'll get to do the following steps. - choose which type of chocolate/drizzle(s) you want to dip your pop in -decide on which topping you want it rolled around in I've never seen anything like this and for less than $2 a mini pop the choices are endless! I'll be back the next time I'm in town.
