A tiny, legendary live-music bar where bands like The Offspring once cut their teeth. Chronicled by the Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register, it still books shows in 2025—raw, intimate, and fiercely local.

Google
A very small place packed with good sounds and cool people. A small stage inside and another in the back when necessary. Just beer at the bar, on tap or bottles and cans. Parking is tough, so get there early.

Google
Small dive bar with a lot of history and local talent coming through. Saw my cousin's thrash metal bands play here was my first time and will come again! Not much on the amenities just a cool hangout with no holds barred .. mosh pit and all!

Matt Hatcher

Google
High-class dining at its best! The steak tartar was out of this world. The wine selection was amazing, too! 🤘😝 Seriously though, kick ass divebar. Punk bands galore. Let's go!

I have played 50 + shows at the club and have created my own clothing brand DMK star Apparel and this was my 3rd clothing brand show at the dollhut,

Google
A true dive bar, small, cozy, great acoustics. Small stage where bands are always playing. Some cool retro arcade games in the back. Very affordable drinks. Cash only but there's an ATM inside. Looks like one of the small music venue on sunset strip except it's here in the OC. Tucked away in industrial area. Street parking only. Friendly staff. Just cool vibes.

Google
Some of the music was just great. The Long video I posted, they fricking rock! I'm sorry but I forgot thier name. I'm not going to say a bad thing about this place. I had a good night with my lady!

Google
Great line up of bands. Saw Kulululu here - one of the best shows I have ever seen! Staff are great too!

Always a good time here, love the layout been coming for awhile.

Yelp
This is a small venue to check out bands. They only take cash here, but there is an ATM inside. The restrooms are small, but clean. They didn't serve food as far as I could tell, but it a cool spot. I would recommend this place if you checking out and band or if your looking for a space to play. It stared as a punk venue I believe. It's has a punk vibe. P

Yelp
Such a cool place to see a show. If you like Punk and Rock-a-Billy this is the place to go in the OC.

Yelp
I came here for a NAMM after party show. It had three stages, 2 outdoor and 1 indoor. The indoor stage looks really nice with stickers of metal bands. The sound was ok; couldn't hear the vocalist really well. Not really liking the restrooms- they were kind of crowded and not well stocked. They did have a cool taco stand there for the event. Not sure if they always have outside vendors come in. They seem to have a well stocked bar- that takes cash only. There is also street parking. Great metal venue!

Yelp
Super divey bar on the outskirts of sketchy part of Anaheim. Tiny old Strip bar now just a bar with local bands who play their hearts out. Super chill, actually very safe. Surprisingly clean. They have taken a stand on some racist shit that tried to go down there, which is well appreciated and keeps them safe for all. Great place for budding musicians.

Yelp
Since 1957, the Doll Hut has been known as the punk rock spot to see old and new upcoming bands. Originally built as a private residence in the 1900s, it was later transformed into a Sunkist Cafe in 1941. Walking into the Doll Hut, one would think they stumbled into just another small dive bar, but the walls of the Doll Hut tell a different story. Over the years, bands have left their mark by leaving their stickers all over, even in the bathroom. Parking: There is very limited parking in the lot adjacent to the Doll Hut, however there is plenty of street parking. Inside: The bar is the first thing you will encounter when you walk in, the stage is to the right, and seating is further in the back. There is also an outside area in the far back. Bring cash to avoid having to pull out money from the ATM. For Bands: There is not much space to store your equipment. So, either get their early to unload (because the lot fills up) and hang out, or just come 30 minutes before you play and risk no parking nearby. The stage is very small, but workable if you are used to playing in tight places. Sound is very difficult to hear because you are usually standing right next to your amp and the drums.

Yelp
I've been here dozens of times throughout my punk rock fan boy life. I don't know that I'll be back however. Something has to be done about the PA system because it sounds like dog crap. I was there a few nights ago seeing a friends band and it sounded so junky and LOUD that we had to watch them on stage from outside. I saw three bands and really wanted to stay, but I just couldn't handle it and took off driving home with not only "tunnel hearing" but having a huge headache. Bring ear plugs and be prepared to listen to the bands from outside, which in and of itself will sound like sh*t but it's better than having blown out eardrums. If you're a band looking to play there just know that the PA system will be so loud that turning up will only make it sound worse to the audience. The gal behind the bar was on it and gave me great service and the guys at the door were super cool and polite. I'm really hoping that something can be done about the system. If you're in a successful band and have had the opportunity to start your career here (what SoCal punk band hasn't?) maybe try and hook them up with a new(er) board so we can continue to enjoy this iconic punk rock bar. Until then, I'll have to pass for now. Oh, last thing...as I was leaving, I noticed some guys showing up that looked sketch. Maybe a little bit too proud of their skin color? Trying to be politically correct but probably failed.

Yelp
Nice to see concerts but parking sucks , but overall good wish parking was better , enjoy Malison band

Yelp
Question Are ids needed? I've been looking for a spot for a long while now but can't find one, La Santa is very obscure with ids and all age shows so any feedback would be nice, thank you.

Yelp
I only have been couple of times here and every time I ask myself why I don't come here more often.. Go figure! The Doll Hut is quite small but nice, the place is unpretentious and energetic. Seems like many customers know each other and are regulars from the bar. They have different nights according to the bands that play, all I have seen are quite good: Rockabilly, Metal and Punk. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/robvIID1NxKrUfH656mYTw?select=N3qanIwOENF_g32NbbRS3w#N3qanIwOENF_g32NbbRS3w Parking is not so great but quite acceptable. If you like to show off, if you are trying to impress or if you want the club cool scene, do you (and us a favor) Don't go! If you want to hear good music, without having to dress up and pay the ridiculous prices of other up scaled places: check the calendar of the Doll Hut, choose the night you want to go and you won't be disappointed! A plus the walls here have memory, seems like most of its patrons have left their mark http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/robvIID1NxKrUfH656mYTw?select=N3qanIwOENF_g32NbbRS3w#0Jm6UW-rCfRRpUSCmjzmqw http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/robvIID1NxKrUfH656mYTw?select=FQIWwBB30x0tWjNnfs6K6w#FQIWwBB30x0tWjNnfs6K6w

Yelp
It's quite unfair for me to rate this place, because it is a rock show venue and I stopped in purely to check it out during the set up period before the Sunday night shows. Somewhere in the back of my mind I was hoping there would be tap beer and a cool vibe. Instead there was cooler beer and no vibe- it was empty, almost eerie... The people were very nice, there was a bar tender lady with blond hair and a sound guy with long hair. Disclaimer: I'm super boring and don't love music or at least loud music shows...

Offie C.

Yelp
Cash only!! Yes atm inside. Its very small. They only have 1 bathroom for guys & 1 bathroom for girls. What i find disgusting that guys tend to go into girls bathroom disregarding the girls in line. I said something and nothing was done. The guy taking cash in front was high ass fuck he sounded so stupid and unprofessional. The shows in the back are cool. Theres no lighting no chairs no tables. Just fukn boring on top of that NO PARKING! Your lucky if you find some in street and careful cz tow trucks do pass by. Dont suggest coming here for a show just

Yelp
Best venue in OC for punk rock!!! Cheap beer, cool bouncers and badass bartenders. Come here if you like that old backyard show feel!!

Yelp
Best spot in the OC for music! The people behind the scenes are super friendly and the crowd is always awesome! This place is a second home to me! Filipino punker!

Yelp
This place rocks cool people cool music a great Hideaway to get drunk and have a good time awesome place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon and watch local bands perform... I've been coming here off and on since the late 80s and it's always been cool as hell.... the bartender Kat is very very cool. love this place.

Yelp
Charging customers for water is wack. That shits a necessity and if someone already spending money on drinks, charging for water just shows they care about money more than their customers. For that reason alone I wouldn't recommend

Yelp
Great place to see a band. The staff is so cool. There are not enough places like this left.
google avatar

Yelp
Met friends there, had a great time. Had not been there for 30 years! Hasn't changed in years. Back area to drink, smoke and hang out. Had a blast. Will return. Fun little club!

Yelp
Loved this place, miss this place. There is nothing in the LA area like it anymore. The only thing I hated was the pool table taking up valuable real estate!
google avatar

Yelp
Small place, but it's okay. Feels like a real concert being close to everyone. See some shows there. It's fun.

Yelp
Hell yea OC oldest Punk Rock club is back in action! Re-opened 1-3-14! Cheap beer! Loud Music Fun Times! I got a call from my old pal Russel, who said that the Doll Hut was reopening and was gonna have some cool bands playing and told me I should go. I thought why the fuck, not I wasn't doing anything anyway and if I got loaded I could walk and stumble home 'cuz its kinda close, but this was a new chapter id the DH books. I've seen a lot of great bands here and a lot of not so great bands here too. Punk, metal, rockabilly, surf, you name it. Many bands cut their teeth here at the Doll Hut and some like Social Distortion and the Offspring sometimes returned after they had made it big to play surprise performances. Many consider the Doll Hut to be the CBGB's of the west coast. Can't think of a place more deserving. Besides CBGB's is still closed I think. The Doll Hut is the Webster's poster child for hole in the wall dive bar. Its tiny 2 car garage sized interior is held together duct tape and bubblegum. Its gritty and raw this is what an intimate performance is all about. Even the bathrooms at this place are punk. http://www.yelp.com/biz_... The Doll Hut is an Anaheim Icon. Built in the 1920's as a private residence, the Doll Hut became a truck stop cafe in 1936, a bar in the 1950's and a music venue when bought by Linda Jemison in the 1989. And when Linda's Doll Hut closed its doors in the summer of 2001, it was thought to be the end of an era. Luckily a couple who met at Linda's took over the space and reopened it that fall. It continued to feature live bands, often sold-out crowds and even occasional Sunday barbecues. Cheap covers, great music and cheap ass beer made this a special place. The stories the walls could tell! I'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
"World Famous Doll Hut" "The CBGB of the West Coast" "Punk Rock and Rockabilly" Do I have your attention? Is this you? If so, you have to check out The Doll Hut. It's a legendary, very small, high-energy rock venue. It's right off of I-5. I saw Victims of Indecision and Clepto there last night. Good show! I'm not sure if it was free or if I just sneaked in. Beer only. Guinness on tap (plus bad beers). Their lot is small but there is street parking. Earplugs are highly advised.
google avatar

Yelp
The Doll Hut has NOT moved!! I spoke with an employee today and was told that the Doll Hut has NOT moved and is still at the same location it's been at for many years. Confirmation can be made by calling the venue.
google avatar

Dirt W.

Yelp
Doll Hut is still a classic. It may not be what it was 20-30 yrs ago, but what is? Depending on your musical preference, the scene is different every night. From punk acts to country, rockabilly, surfabilly, phsycobilly, or any other billy you can think of - the Doll Hut is still a great place to see a live show. There is no other place quite as 'intimate' as the Doll Hut. If you want to see an act close-up, this is the place. The large metal window cover is now taken down during shows so you can see the bands from the back patio. Did I mention the new sound system? Huge upgrade from the piece of crap that was there before. And if you are in need of a punk fix & see the 'Yeastie Boys' on the bill.....grab your party hat, a stack of OCweeklys and prepare for a good time.

Yelp
Always A Rad Rock'N Gr888t Time!!!! Gr888t to see big bands in a small venue!! Close to home makes drive times nice!! Grab a brew and start Rock'N

Yelp
IF YOU LOVE MUSIC AND BEER .. YOU WILL LOVE THE DOLL HUT! definitely one of my favorite places to go to if i am ever in the mood to watch a band open everyday.. always a chill place to sit and enjoy rock n roll music. The bartender gives the best customer service you can get.. you do not have to wait 3 hours for her to finish talking about her plans for the weekend to another customer. Definitely my favorite bartender! i would say this is the CBGBS of the west!
google avatar

Steven R.

Yelp
Now we're talkin'. A dive that's a personal favorite of mine. Perfectly sized so that it is able to be tucked right in Anaheim's armpit, this dive is known for hosting a healthy amount of punk and metal bands (often locals) that sound great with a side of PBR. The arcade machines by the patio are a great touch... I play a lot better when that Iron Maiden cover starts. Horns and bottoms up!
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Best live venue in the OC. Refreshingly cold beer, on tap, authentic dive bar feel, friendly peers who have similar tastes in punk, post punk, lo fi and Americana. The original gangster, since the old Cuckoo's Nest closed down.
google avatar

Caitlin E.

Yelp
Only go if there's a band to see. Went on a Wednesday night and was assaulted by terrible comedians who haven't seen a naked woman in years (and who have no understanding of anatomy) making crude jokes with punch lines such as "so like, I came and everything and then..." I could have mopped the floor with their crap humor. Some even resorted to fart jokes. So there's that too. Bar is cash only. And bar tender was rude when my friend asked a question about one of the special beers they had ATM. Would not go again. Been to better dive bars. This place has lots all its charm to me.
google avatar

Molly V.

Yelp
Played here twice once in 2012 and the other time in 2016, both times we played we enjoyed every minute! the sound guy is cool the staff is amazing! Good little spot to play and historic too! I like the fact that they have all kinds of genres.

Justin A.

Yelp
Great Venu for punk rock. Seen many great acts here. Can't wait to see shows here again.

Susana D.

Yelp
Bartenders and owners are assholes. Never got asked if I wanted anything to drink so I was just sitting there at the bar. The ONLY cool thing about this place are the arcade games
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
This place is a shi*hole... I love it!! It's full on punk, cheap beer, loud music. Either you'll love it or hate it!!
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
If a dingy venturesome bar/venue is your definition of fun, then this is the place to be! This well known Anaheim spot is extremely crampted but wins guest over with cheap beer and live stage performances usually of the punk and rockabilly genre. As grudgy and rundown as this landmark is, they still know how to pack a full house with pioneer punk rockers, local drunks, wild kids, and supporters of the inexperienced to outrageously talented live bands. The true charm of this place would be the history surrounding the walls inside. Memorabilia of past bands decorate the interior with their stickers of their creative names and logos. Paintings of the Doll Hut and the famous Nekromantix also are hung up on the walls to add some notable moments to their story. I only wish this place had more floor room for the audience to have a spot to watch the show and a seperate space for pitting. Instead everyone has to deal with being pushed up against one another because to see the show, you're basically forced to be in the pit. Being up close and personal with a band is the right way to experience a great show but to be all up close and personal with a crowd of strangers shoving you..doesn't really make me a fan of The "Hut." Still, I give props to any place that has a crazy history like The Doll Hut because it's truly something to be proud of.
google avatar

Rachel Macie H.

Yelp
The Doll Hut is a great establishment it's a small bar that has Punk, Hardcore, SKA and anything that's underground come through. I've been here a good amount of times over the years and I've always had a great time! I'm happy to say that after this relaunch wile its still ghetto awesome it looks like they cleaned the place up a little bit it looks a little refreshed inside lotta new places to put stickers and a better stage!!! Don't get me wrong this isn't some place to bring your momma to its a punk rock bar that's full of people alike rocking out and having a good time! They have cheap beer here and lots of it which definitely makes this a good time when pared with good live music (depending on who's playing) We've come here on Sundays sometimes when they do BBQ's and its always a good time I'm very happy that they opened this place back up they were stupid for shutting it down in the first place gotta keep this legendary dive bar open and rockin! Definitely will be back soon to rock out! Up The Punx!

Yelp
I have to agree with Dirt W. Yes, Linda's Doll Hut was great. Yes, it was all cool and authentic. But you know what? OC has changed. There's a different thing going on there than there was in the late 80's and 90's. So, the fact that the place is still there for bands off the beaten-path is GREAT!!! For those who don't know the Hut, it's not for the faint of heart. If you know punk or psychobilly or any other genre of music that isn't played on mainstream radio, you'll be comfortable. For those who like Ace of Base, Amy Grant, Fergie or Sum 41, this bar might strike you as rowdy...and that's what it's good for: a rowdy-ass good time. Period. I drink wine, but I don't go to the Hut to drink wine. Pabst in a can and people screaming into the mic at the Hut is fine with me.
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I am well aware that my friends and I are not the clientele that this place caters to. Be that as it may, I don't really understand why anyone would want to come here. Beer only, dirty bathrooms and the bar is far too large for that small a place. It was very hard to get through with gear and the place was semi-empty. No, thank you.
google avatar

Lee P.

Yelp
If you grew up in the area, you've probly heard of the Doll Hut. I've always wanted my band to play here because its famous and we jumped at the chance when we were offered a gig. They joint is SMALL but for smaller less known bands this is perfect cause if you bring 30 people, the place is packed! Drink tickets for band members, no cut of the door typically, but they definitely treated us musicians very well and we'd love to play here again. Sound quality wise, the monitors on stage kinda suck, but everyone in the crowd said the sound was perfect, so that's what really matters. Good times, Good beers. We will definitely be playing here again sometime. www.myspace.com/askalicexo is my band if you're curious. (shameshameplugin'shame)
google avatar

Nikita P.

Yelp
I went here with a friend who knew someone who was performing. I was up to check the band and this place out only as entrance was free the night I went if you brought a can of food. I don't know if I would pay for cover, although the bands were decently good so if you like live music it might be worth it. Drinks were cheap and it's cash only so be prepared for that. I liked the vibe but the neighborhood isn't the greatest and parking is very limited, which is why I'm only giving this place 3 stars.
google avatar

Jeanette S.

Yelp
Legendary punk rock bar that only sells beer, has shitty parking, crazy shit all over the walls, and is unfortunately closing down December 31st. :-( Used to be a little more rockabilly, but now mostly punk and metal bands play. Beers are great and cheap, and the crowd is always a good time. Gets really crowded though, so brace yourself. And it's cash only but there's an ATM inside so don't worry. There's also a bacon wrapped hot dog bbq outside! They're so delicious and awesome!!! Downfall besides the closing and cash only is that it's in a weird colvasac so parking is annoying. Don't park in the businesses that closed at 5pm, because apparently they call to tow your car still even after they're long gone. Go figure.

Yelp
I love the doll hut everytime i book here i feel like home :)
google avatar

Yelp
My band The Ghosts of the Insane and I played here and it was the most loving and kind atmosphere we've ever been in! We played great and the room filled up fast with tons of happy cheering fans!!! We hope to come back really soon! Thanks so much Kat Monroe and everyone else who helped us play a great show! We love you all!!!
google avatar

Kurt C.

Yelp
Classic old bar. Good crowd. Cheap drinks. Saw an amazing band down from Bend, Oregon. So good.
google avatar

G. RICH V.

Yelp
Saw Order of the Fly play since a friend of mine knew the band. They're a pretty good punk band! Nice guys too.. This punk bar is really intimate. If you sit by the bar, you're pretty much on stage with the band..lol It's all good though. They only serve beer..$5 a pop which isn't that bad, but sometimes you need that Jack&Coke. Hey, it's a punk bar..what else can you say about it? It's dark, full of stickers & punk rock memorbilia. Bathroom was clean :) There's plenty of parking for all 25 people there lol!
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
The Doll Hut was the best live OC venue for local bands to play in the 90s! Probably the best band to come out of the OC at that time was Mind Driver. Heath was a really entertaining front-man, and I'll never forget their Scooby-Doo mystery mobile with the Mind Driver logo! We used to see it all over Costa Mesa and HB. Great times! Great memories!!!
google avatar

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Bring your earplugs...this place is f**ken loud. Also limited beer selection and pricey...5 bucks for a bud light...what!?
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
First experienced the Hut back in the 80's. Typical cocktail lounge that opened early morning and had its host of old regulars. Not for everyone, but I liked it. Fast forward to I think the later 90's and it was called Linda's Doll Hut. I crammed in with standing room only and heard James Harman and maybe an Alvin blow the place away. Music doesn't get more up close and personal! Great show. At this point I limit my Punk appreciation to what's left of Iggy Pop and vintage Sex Pistols via vinyl or CD. Keep on truckin' Hut ... I hope the joint still is going full on with great artists that you just don't get to see/hear in such a small venue.
google avatar

Patrick N.

Yelp
Never mind the place is so small, I've had closets bigger than the main room. One time I went there to see a bad, the bass player was practically wearing the bartender. And let's be honest -- the place is a shithole, but it's a shithole with great music. Many of the OC bands we all know all love played there, so they'll always get a free pass on the walls falling apart. When I was there tonight, there was some punk rockabilly band playing, and they were pretty cool. The beer I had made them even better. Why not go there?
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
The Doll Hut was great. It's small but it really allows you to be up close and personal with the band performing. My friends and I saw FLAKE and they were great!!! We got to chat and hang out after the show with them and they were pretty cool guys. They only serve beer but once you have a few you get over it quick. It's a nice place to hang out and meet the bands and see who they are behind the stage lights.
google avatar

Anthony R P.

Yelp
I went to watch two bands whom are friends. The Slow Forward and RUACH so wherever I was, it would be good. This place is small. There is a bar that takes up 30% of the place and maybe seats 15. A tiny stage and a tiny viewing area. There are two pinball machines and an outside area for smoking and whatnot. There are stickers on every inch of this place. It was loud and cramped. And didn't smell lol. Also, parking is limited. I would go there if there again, but only if these guys played there again. Some would like the "coziness" of it. While others would be turned off. Check it out for yourself .
