I love this place! My go-to coffee and matcha place in the city. They've got great pastries as well; don't miss out on the gluten free maddelains, they've got all kinds of different flavors. Many people work here, but they're always super nice. Just be aware that they don't have a bathroom or barely any space to sit.

Google
This is the spot for your fancy wines, craft beers, and yummy Asian snacks! They even serve espresso drinks! Always organized and clean! Most importantly very spacious for Covid shopping. Great little fancy corner store for amazing selections of unique beverages and snacks before you head to Dolores park! Only one block from Dolores. They have food depending on what time you go. They carry third culture bakery mochi muffins, sushi, soba noodles. Check their Instagram for updates.

Google
The service was great. The barista made me a great chai tea latte. It wasn’t too sweet and very flavorful. I also thought it was for a good price.

Google
Cute little place for coffee. Really good Mochi pastries. More for to go orders

Google
Cool little spot near Dolores park. Selection is kinda bougie. I did try an espresso with tonic (laid back) that was interesting enough to justify a return visit. Plan to try one of their teas next time out

Google
We have been here a few times since we live down the block. My go-to is the Asian snacks and mochi donut/muffin. They got a really good selection of alcohol and cheap coffee as well. Found this brown boba mocha fish ice cream (absolutely must try) SO GOOD!!! Under $3 too!

Google
Great coffee, friendly baristas! Don’t charge for syrups or alternative milks which is great.

Yelp
Been here twice, don't come here if you're looking for a good cup of coffee. the barista was nice and said the owner doesn't train anyone how to properly dial/weigh the espresso, so naturally the latte tasted like sh**. Came in another day for a drip coffee hoping that it might be better, but the owner was behind the counter having a loud and inappropriate conversation with the people in the front of the line, and everyone seemed pretty uncomfortable. guy is a total weirdo. Spend the extra buck at one of the many cafes in the area for a good cup of coffee and good experience.

Yelp
The staff was top notch and not snobby at all. In fact we took the time to chat which made my day, as someone from the South it's those little connections that make Life grand. My daughter stored her luggage while we cruised all over town. When we returned we bought a bunch of kickass snacks for the plane. This is the type of place that if it's in your neighborhood you're blessed. It's a hangout, a quick stop, and above all else functional and friendly. My daughter and I will return if nothing else to see if they have anymore fun Asian treats to try.

Lilly P.

Yelp
I was waiting behind a couple ordering when I overheard an incredibly rude conversation between them and who I think may be the owner or manager who I later learned is named Paco. The owner was talking about an employee who was "average" and not a great worker - a very unprofessional thing to overhear as a customer. The couple was visibly uncomfortable with the negative conversation and I was off put by how the owner talked about his employees. Not coming back.

Paisley D.

Yelp
Great experience! My phone died mid trip to SF, so we stopped at Dolores Outpost to charge and rest. The employee was extremely kind and even offered a phone charger to us. They had a great selection of unique asian drinks and tinned fish. Would go back next time we are in the city to study! The vibes were amazing :)

Yelp
Such a cute corner store! I live around the block and always walk by it but never in. I finally made it inside and was pleasantly surprised! I lived in Japan for a few years as a child and was so excited to see all the little snacks available here. Everything from unique kit Kat flavors to shrimp chips to Pocari Sweat! Brought back a lot of memories and I was excited to share the fun treats with my partner as we perused the aisles. We left this time with 2 mochi muffins and would definitely recommend you give them a try if you're a fan of mochi texture. The flavor is light and the characteristic mochi sponygness keeps you full without feeling like you downed too much sweetness. Prices overall are on the mid/higher range but it's a fun place for a splurge on some unique stuff. Will definitely he back to explore the other snacks here!

Lionel H.

Yelp
Reallly cute shop, but I got charged 2x the advertised price for a small bottle of red vermouth there today. Said $10 charged $20. Bummed!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good mochi desserts! Friendly staff and the store has a lot of interesting options Their hojicha latte was a little watered down but not bad

Yelp
You can sure tell hipsters and food fashionistas have taken over this corner market because I didn't see a big lottery machine or worn-down lucite cases with stale bear claws and what were once cheese danish. But there were a lot of bottles of Japanese libations and snacks. Instead of plasticized pastries, they have mochi muffins and doughnuts under glass. Random origami paper cranes were strewn about, and it wasn't even J-Town. No restroom but of course, a full-fledged coffee bar. The first time I visited, I just tried the $2 Coffee, a nice blend from Highwire Roasters (photo: http://bit.ly/2SjgjJm). This last time, I went full hipster and ordered the $4.75 Latte which was quite pleasing (photo: http://bit.ly/2RVdDTu). If they start selling those skinny Japanese sandwiches they sell at Lawsons in Tokyo, I would be so in. COFFEE - 4 stars...nice brews AMBIANCE - 4 stars...no Foodhall but just as well (review: http://bit.ly/37X8G1T) SERVICE - 3.5 stars...nice enough but probably need to be a regular here to get traction TOTAL - 4 stars...a hipster hangout I actually didn't mind RELATED - In need of a caffeine fix? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: http://bit.ly/30sXK8D

Yelp
What a neighborhood gem! We were very surprised by the goodies we found in this store. Not your typical corner liquor store. It's definitely an upgraded version with an Asian twist. We were in the area for a Ritual latte but the line was down the block ugh and thankfully we remembered this place had a La Colombe sign hanging outside and so thought it would be a decent plan B for caffeine. We thought right as there's a full service cafe inside. No latte is better than a Ritual latte and the one I had here wasn't great (tasted overly strong to me) but to my delight, they do serve Third Culture mochi muffins and donuts. Say what?! Big plus was that we were the only ones here initially so no line. A gentleman came in after us and seemed to be equally as surprised as us by this place and was raving about their sake selection. I didn't peruse the alcohol but saw lots of Japanese non-alcoholic drinks up for grabs ie. Pocari sweat, Royal milk tea (one of my favs), Calpico as well as Japanese ice creams (matcha taiyaki!) that you would find in Nijiya. Now you can stock up on Asian treats without having to go all the way to Japantown.

Blake G.

Yelp
I live a couple blocks from here and I go out and get cappuccinos fairly often. But I've only been to this place once. I came in to order a cortado, pleased that it's cheaper than Ritual and Linea, etc. It took a couple minutes to get the order in because the woman behind the counter was busy talking to her friend. She barely acknowledged my order; she just pointed at the credit card reader without even saying anything. She kept chattering with her friend. Eventually she put the coffee on the counter. No "thank you" or anything. Not even a grunt. I learned all about her friend's friend's new boyfriend who she doesn't approve of. The coffee wasn't very good. My guess is that she wasn't paying attention to making it any more than she was to me ordering it. You pay less here, and you get what you pay for. I walk by here nearly every day. But I won't be spending any more money inside.

Yelp
I was waiting past the New Year to try a different taste of matcha even though it's the same color, not hojicha. Tonight is the right time at Dolores Outpost to enjoy a cup of plain matcha straight from Miyazaki prefecture. Usually, the matcha we currently have was once grown from Uji, Kyoto. Then the other came from Kirishima. When it comes to fruity vegetal notes, not all green tea powders are created equal. Like tea leaves from China, taste depends on climate. Anyway, I'm dying to try Miyazaki's matcha. First sip, never too bitter. After few more sips and a waiting period, sweet stringent aftertaste kicks in. I want to assume that the aftertaste is different to Uji matcha, perhaps less strength. Matcha latte isn't always my cup of joe, so I choose plain matcha which is the same as the bowl form, for only $5. Same with hojicha without hot frothy milk. I admit that I haven't stir the powdered content when it gets clumpy on the bottom. Or maybe the store clerk just normally stir rather than whisking it. But matcha is matcha. If you're looking for the authenticity of matcha, head to Dolores Outpost. It'll be worth your time if you like the fruity vegetal aftertaste. *w-

Yelp
Considering we have three full punch cards from this place, it's high time I reviewed it! Even though we no longer live around the corner, we walk five blocks up Guerrerro to stop by every few weeks. For one, they're the only third wave coffee spot in the area, especially considering the long line at Ritual, Fayes' Video shortened hours, and the too long of a walk to Philz or Noe Cafe. In addition to their coffee drinks, we also come for the Third Culture mochi muffins, the Japanese snacks, and the rare bottle of wine when we forget to pick one up at the store. They recently started a wine club which we heard about from one of the owners who offered us wine info and sips! We love the Outpost and will continue to patronize it :)

Yelp
Came here to try out the Banh Mi sandwiches, and ended up getting the Almost Thai Beef Banh Mi. At about $10 a piece I was expecting something quite a bit better than what I got. The sandwiches were cold as they are refrigerated in the back, and while they offer to heat it up for you, it still ended up being pretty cold, and we waited for quite a while for it too. The banh mi itself wasn't too bad, but it wasn't that great either, partly because it was cold. The meat tasted of pretty good quality, and the flavors were good, but had they been served fresh they probably would have tasted much more enjoyable.

Yelp
I stopped in because I saw a Hojicha Latte on the menu, and there aren't too many places that do a Hojicha latte. I got it hot and sweetened and it really hit the spot on a Tuesday afternoon. As I was waiting for my latte I explored the aisles - they have a lot of Japanese drinks including a wide variety of sake and beers, non-alcoholic drinks like pocari sweat, royal milk tea, and calpico. Dolores Outpost was a pleasant surprise of a corner store and I'm glad I walked in to check it out.

Alexander G.

Yelp
The Japanese barista is very rude. I ordered a matcha latte and he didn't even whisk the matcha, so we got milk with clumpy matcha. Don't recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
We walked in super excited by the la Colombe poster and white claw advertisements. My friend asked me to grab her a coffee while she used the restroom. As I'm browsing my isles and she's attempting to use the bathroom the overweight man working the cash register screams at my friend "UM EXCUSE ME WHERE DO YOU THINK YOURE GOING" disrespectfully. She responds "oh sorry I thought there was a bathroom" to which he said "I don't care what you thought you don't just walk around my store like that" (what are you supposed to do at stores?) and continues "the restrooms aren't for public use" and we respond sorry we thought if we bought something we could use them (totally plausible) he then states "I don't care what you thought" we then decided to leave and not spend our money there. So disrespectful, never have I been spoken to or treated like this in an establishment I was trying to spend money. I can't believe this man has a job working with people he should be fired.

Yelp
Can't beat $2 coffee. It good, fast and well priced. Was driving by Tartine and saw the super long line, so I decided to go to Dolores Outpost Instead and picked up my $2 cup of Joe. In and out fast!

Yelp
I think they got rid of the big guy who used to work here who was literally HORRIBLE to numerous female customers. I like the people working there now (and think one of them is actually the owner). Very kind and gracious and they have great coffee.

Jenny K.

Yelp
This WAS my favorite coffee shop. Great people, great coffee. Then they changed their hours to open at 9 so I don't go anymore. I just don't understand a coffee spot opening at 9am. Now I give my money to other shops with not as nice folks and not as good coffee :(

Yelp
An amazingly curated little corner store filled with Japanese goods, unique indie beers, and desserts too! Stopped by here on a smoggy weekend to buy some beers to enjoy at the the park nearby with my s/o. It caught my eye from the outside as I was looking for parking and after scanning the yelp page, I couldn't resist coming in. I saw that D.O. carried the delicious mochi muffins I really enjoy in DTSJ and was so stoked to buy them here. Staff member here was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. His helpfulness made things a lot easier for me. Something that is a huge plus from small businesses. He helped me grab the lilikoi kepolo beer I wanted and separated it into single units for me to buy. They're not bad at all for $3 a can~ They have a wide selection of beers, Japanese ones included. It was so nice to see them divided into both single beers for a day at the park and packs too. You won't have to worry about committing to an entire pack here if you're trying something new, which is an amazing perk! Some of the beers/alcohol were on the crazy pricey side but I think it's to be expected from imported and rare goods. Space was clean and didn't have the cramped feeling that most tiny corner stores have. Very clean, well-organized, dim-Ly lit, and had a very nice urban vibe to it. There's also a bento/sushi selection here that's average in price. Overall I loved this lil hole in the wall place. I am juiced to come by again to try new things while hanging out at the park. I'll be back, stay cool!
google avatar

Gerard Y.

Yelp
This store carries an interesting variety of drinks and snacks. They are mostly Japanese snacks like chips. Most if the beer here are craft so it's a little expensive but they had tall cans of Modelo too. I wish they had more dark beer like stouts and porters but they have decent about of IPAs, Pilsner, etc. They have canned wine too. There's a decent selection of canned coffee too. It's good to know that I don't have to go far to buy top shelf Japanese whiskey like Hibiki. Dolores Park is just up the block so it's very convenient to grab a beer before heading to the park.
google avatar

Linda H.

Yelp
Happened to be in the neighborhood and saw that this place carried third culture bakery- Mochi muffins. Something I've been after but lacked enough motivation to actually go find. This place carried three flavors. I was recommended the churro and chocolate but going against the grain tried the matcha which I think was the original. Def Heavy on the matcha but not in a bitter way. I love the consistency of Mochi so wrap that in a soft muffin exterior and my hearts content. Would def try the other flavors! Cinnamon churro coming for you next.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while I was walking to the park from the BART station. They had an eye catching sign that said "White Claw and White Girl Rose" (y'all had me at white claw). This place looks like a Japanese owned Convenience store with some snacks and alcoholic beverages. White Claw was less than $3 and beers such as Coors Light & Corona were less than $4. For San Francisco standards, I would consider this more on the "inexpensive" side. They had a nice selection of local beers, wines, and some hip-millenial looking beverages! I recommend coming here and picking up some drinks and snacks before heading to Dolores Park. In fact, on the counter I noticed that there were some freshly wrapped rice with seaweed for only $1. Can't wait to make a stop here next time I visit the park!
google avatar

Olga N.

Yelp
Closes 9PM? It's 8.35PM, I wanted to buy some sake after a long day at work and here's what I find. That's unacceptable.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a very cute cafe / convenience shop near Dolores Park that my friend took me to once. I love how small and local this place is, and the wide variety of drinks, snacks, and foods they carry here. Everyone who works there is friendly and funny, and they have a small cafe inside as well. I tried an iced matcha latte there as well as some various snacks I picked up on the way to hang out with some friends, all of which were amazing. Ever since, if I'm ever near the area, I always make a point to stop by and pick up something, whether it be a drink or a snack!

Mary M.

Yelp
The coffee is good, the workers kind and considerate. There was a man who worked there 2-3 days a week who was rude but he's been gone for a while now. Also has Japanese snacks, and an eclectic beer selection. Wine and hard alcohol too.
google avatar

Dan B.

Yelp
don't get it twisted, bijis. you might see the DRANK SELECTION n think this is a hipster* mecca. nah ownerbro was a chef for 20 years so don't hate just bc #ashy2classy. o & under all the craft beers n sakes there are 40s u can keep it grime but still stay shine. RICE BURGER was eh, literally like part of a bibimbap; don't come expecting koja. wish meat had more flavor, only light sourness from kimchi. PANDAPANADAS sell out early morning or i would've gotten one. *which according to me would be a compliment but.
google avatar

Isabella G.

Yelp
I walked in because I saw "La Columbe", a brand that makes good coffee. I've never been here before so I was confused since it looked like a convenience store. There was one person behind the counter watching something on his phone. I asked him if they make coffee and where the menu was. He was really rude. I asked him if I could get a hojicha latte. Didn't know what that was and he explained it to me very rudely. I don't know how to describe it other than that it made me feel really, really bad. I'm not sure what I did to make him behave so horribly to me. I asked him if there was a problem and he said no. I was gonna leave and not get anything but he'd already started making it? He wasn't rude to my friend that got something after me. I attached a picture of our lattes here. Mine was a Hojicha Latte and as you can see it doesn't look like a latte; it looks like milk and water (flat). My friend got a regular latte and it's foamy and looks good. These pictures were taken about 15-20 minutes after we got the coffee. Neither of us drank any because we both felt bad. It was 5$ and I regret coming here. We came here on Sunday around 5:15. I guess we know why the store was empty! Also I read the reviews and the same man called someone a "cunt"? How is he allowed to work here?

D J.

Yelp
Racist towards other Asians. Japanese baristas with terrible manners. The americano was watered down and didn't taste good. Not recommended.
google avatar

Art O.

Yelp
These guys did a huge upgrade from the previous corner store here! First, the interior with the plants and overall setup is pleasant and welcoming. This is the spot you want to come to if Bi-Rite is too crazy. They also have a great selection of snacks, drinks, and food. I stop by to get the sushi a few times a week. The sushi is fresh and there's a good variety. Most importantly, it's a really good value. One star off for the inconsistent availability of their banh mi and the $.75 charge for debit purchases under $10. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Sean D.

Yelp
You've never been to a better liquor store. The selections of great drinks and great foods are astounding. The owners are relaxed, knowledgeable and funny. They are also more than ready to point you in the right direction if you have questions. The Outpost is just all around spectacular. Also, they sell Slow-and-Low and that stuff is amazing.
google avatar

Coco J.

Yelp
We loved stumbling across Dolores outpost soft opening last weekend. The nitro cold brew was refreshing and I really enjoyed the nondairy almond milk option, it was a three dollar cup of heaven on a warm Sunday afternoon! There was lots of good looking pastry, sushi, a variety of beer, and a promise of Kombucha on tap coming soon - yay

Katie Y.

Yelp
This is our favorite neighborhood coffee spot! They have the BEST Japanese treats and sake. They also have a wine club membership I believe. Their frozen fish ice cream bars are my favorite. I'm from Hawaii and it's like being at home with a local Japanese market. The workers are all incredibly friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
So happy the Outpost opened! Super delicious and affordable food. The Poke Bombs are insanely good and filling. Coffee is great. Booze selection is like a high end bar and what's best?! The owner and staff are super nice and from the Mission! (So over new/not from here/don't know what's up with the Missions history taking up space). Can't wait to come back for lunch, drinks, park necessities, or just good company.
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure what his name was, but one of the guys working there was incredibly rude to no reason. My friend bought a $6 matcha latte and asked for a cup of water. The cashier said "oh we have bottles of water for $1". I said "he can't just get a cup of water?" and the cashier responded "well we have bottles for a reason" with a very rude attitude. He ended up getting him the cup while making a grossed-out face and saying "well it's tap water...". So much unnecessary attitude !

Meri T.

Yelp
I've been coming here almost every morning for a month now. I think the guy who is there on weekdays is probably worth the owner as he is super attentive and nice. Super strong coffee and good service (remembers my order). You can tell they care a lot about their business and I am happy to support them.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
This place packs in a great number of flavors and beverages and yummy treats all under one roof. I like that its Japanese ++ in terms of a variety. And they don't just throw up umami signs all over the place but actually consider the tastes and quality of what they sell. A great selection of booze. Your red cup of picnic cocktail just got super classy.
google avatar

Rachael S.

Yelp
This place is a great addition to this area close to Dolores Park. A great option to pop in for some local/specialty treats, beverages, baked goods, etc. - particularly on sunny/nice days when Bi-Rite is crazy busy with folks stocking up for a boozy picnic in Dolores Park. My husband and I stopped in on their opening day - we checked out the offerings, made "mental notes" of things to pick up another time when we were looking for some fuel (sushi options looked great), and ended up purchasing some beverages for the road (a local beer for my husband, a nitro-brew coffee for me). The nitro brew I had tasted a bit "tin-y" - could just be because it was a brand new canister (husband thought it tasted similar to a Guinness that he's had in the past that was off and had the same tin-like characteristics). It was their opening day, so I didn't and won't hold it against them. Will ask to sample the Nitro brew before purchasing in the future, however.

Enri L.

Yelp
This is now my go to quick stop for wine or a beer. The beer selection is unique (can be pricey, but worth it). And I love their offering of pink wine and bubbles. Friendly staff and some awesome snacks.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
Onigiri are made in store, and you don't have to go to the East Bay for the mochi muffins anymore. They have a legit selection of wines and a variety of Asian snacks. Good vibe inside, too.

Narges Aryobi A.

Yelp
Came to this little market and the owner or manager I'm assuming was super helpful and friendly and helped us choose some drinks and candy. I ended up getting a couple of CBD infused drinks as well as the RAW probiotic drinks- mermaid lemonade- MUST TRY. The drinks were so good I had to come back in after I finished the first one to buy 4 more. Oh and the best part? I tried getting more online and it turns out he sells them for the same price!

Mustafa T.

Yelp
I have never gone out of my way to leave a review but if I had the option to take away stars I would, I'm not sure if it's the owner or employee he was of Asian descent. on Wednesday May 19th at around 7 pm I got an iced coffee from here and the clerk was VERY VERY unwelcoming and his customer service was absolutely HORRIBLE, I asked for a little bit more milk in my coffee and he said no, then as I was stirring my coffee he asked me to hurry and pay, I asked if he was closing soon and he said yes when the store hours stated otherwise, the. I asked his name and he refused to give it to me. If you are a customer that appreciate good customer service steer as clear away from here as possible. I have worked in customer service most of my career and I have never seen anyone so horrible at serving coffee.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Totally digging all the different items Dolores Outpost sells! So many wines, beer, and cheese to select from. They also have Humphrey Slocombe ice cream and Third Culture mochi muffins. We ended up with the Thai style beef banh mi and were pleasantly surprised how good it was! Great place to stop by and grab food and drinks before heading to Dolores Park.

Angelina W.

Yelp
Over priced mediocre coffee. The guy was very rude and took a personal phone call in the middle of my order then started swearing on the phone. Felt like I was intruding or bothering him. I should've known and left then

Sara T.

Yelp
Delicious hamu - next best thing to Spam. The owner is a sweetheart, Ali Hajji! Really interesting backstory to the place. Owner is from LA, spent a lot of time in Hawaii and has fine dining experience in London and as well as other fun places. Hawaii folks: go see some of the treasures in here like Manoa Honey, matcha goods and fun drinks. Grateful for kind and generous store owners in the city!
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Very cute store and probably other items are good but DON'T get the veggie sandwich. I have to rank it as one of the worst sandwiches I have I unfortunately had tried in my life. A soggy gross mess. The eggplant was mush and tasteless. There was very little avocado in it to make up for pulling the eggplant out. I then tried eating the bread because I was really hungry and the bread was not even worth it. This was a $10 pre-made sandwich!!! What a rip off. Buy something else.
google avatar

Jay K.

Yelp
This is such an amazing selection of beer, food, snacks, etc etc etc. Great neighborhood spot to check out.

Yelp
LoVED the mochi muffins. Also enjoyed the canned green teas. Wondering who your supplier is for the bottling of the Vietnamese coffee?! Care to share ?!

Yelp
My favorite liquor store in the city! These guys are the best - super knowledgeable and friendly. They also have an extensive selection of both alcohol and food. I'll be trying their breakfast food next
