We had a fantastic dinner at Dom Joaquim in Évora. From start to finish everything was excellent — the food, the service, the ambiance — truly a memorable evening.
I ordered the Borrego Assado no Forno (oven-roasted Alentejo lamb), and it was superb: tender, perfectly seasoned with olive oil, garlic, bay leaves and rosemary, and the flavors were beautifully balanced. My girlfriend had the pork cheek roasted in red wine), which literally melted in her mouth and had a rich, deep flavor without being heavy.
Some additional highlights: the waiter was friendly and attentive, the wine suggestions were spot on, and the dessert was a great way to end the meal (we couldn’t resist trying something local and sweet).
Highly recommend Dom Joaquim to anyone in Évora looking for true Alentejo cuisine with quality, flavor, and heart. Will definitely return.
