"An oenophile’s dream, this wine bar is located just up the hill off Main Street. It’s stocked with hundreds of bottles of wine: Pair one (or two) with an elegant beef tenderloin or halibut entree, or a plate of papardelle with duck confit and English peas. Domacin is among Stillwater’s priciest restaurants; its interior is understated and warm." - Justine Jones, Eater Staff

"This cavernous, moody wine bar is located up the hill from Main Street in Stillwater, a half-hour’s drive from the metro. The cellar is stocked with more than 600 wines from many regions, but Domacin puts a special emphasis on northern Italy and pinot noir, particularly those from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. There’s also a swanky food menu of beef tenderloin, duck breast, risotto bistecca, and more." - Justine Jones, Katy Spratte Joyce

We stopped here on a whim and couldn’t have been more impressed! Literally one of the best shrimp and grits i have ever had in my entire life! Accompanied with a spectacular wine recommendation and an impeccable sea bass for my boyfriend. Service was perfect- very friendly and welcoming. If we lived here, this would be our spot!

We have had dinner at Domacin many many many times, too many count. We have also had our large company party there at least 12 times. Every single time the experience has been phenomenal. Great professional staff, delicious food, great wine selection and wonderful ambience. Couldn’t be better and now they have a new space connected to the restaurant and the wine shop. A beautiful lounge bar experience where you can taste unique wines get small bites and relax with friends. I always highly recommend this restaurant.

How many more of these gems are there in Stillwater? So many options for great food and drinks! A friend recommended Domacin to us because we love wine and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. There is a strong viticulture theme obviously but besides the outstanding wines by the glass you notice the decor with many large format bottles on display and also the stemware they serve wine in is beautiful and top quality. The menu is a little small for entrees but the duck I had was one of the best duck I've ever tasted. The meat and cheese board was also delicious and you get a lot of food. Can't wait to return in warm weather and sit on their patio. May 2024: Well, I learned tonight that they change the menu. So the delicious duck I had last time was totally different tonight. I was unhappy with it. Still love the restaurant, the wine decor, the patio, and great service.

Google
Very relaxing place to explore some wine and food. We had only done apps and wine 🍷 until recently. Dinner did not disappoint. We were celebrating 🍾 a birthday 🎂 so we were a little excessive. Ordered a cheese board and a bottle of Tempranillo 🍷 to start. Then, eased into a wild rice duck soup. Then, had salmon for the main course on a bed of sweet potatoes. Closed with a little chocolate babycakr with vanilla gelato and some dessert wine 🍷. I'm sure we will be back again and will share more!

Google
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and had an amazing 3 course tasting menu, each wonderfully paired with a glass of wine. The scallops were absolutely amazing, I definitely recommend giving them a try. The service was great as well, and the location is perfectly near a nice walking area right near the water. We'll definitely be back when we're back in the area!

Google
Great place if you’re a wine lover. Lots of choices and had a wine shop to visit after your meal. We had the charcuterie plate with lovely choices of cheese and olives. The risotto is tasty. Lots of other choices. Go and enjoy the new patio. Excellent service.

Google
Visiting Stillwater from Austin, tx and stumbled across this, it is absolutely incredible. The service is really friendly and attentive, great wine selection too. I had the Italian wedding soup, asparagus and the tagliatelle with scallops. Hands down one of the better meals I’ve had in a LONG time - really fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this spot.

Google
Great experience. Had the Valentine's Day menu so looking forward to trying the standard menu next time. Impressive wine list! Wine shop attached and instant discounts for diners

Yelp
I can't say enough about this place. We came here for my birthday dinner on the recommendation of a relative. I made a reservation and we were seated promptly at a cute window table. Our server made great wine recommendations, based on what we planned to order for dinner and her personal favorites. She took into account any budgetary requirements. The wine was absolutely delightful. We ordered charcuterie, which was just the right amount without taking away our appetite for dinner. The pasta dishes are incredible. Our favorite was the orecchiette which had a Bolognese sauce. The desserts were exactly the right size that we could each order our own and were so delicious. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I went here to meet a friend and I wanted to start by saying the location is in a very hot spot. There's a small lot right in front of it as well as lots of street parking all around. If for some reason the lot is full and there is no street parking then you can park 1 block away in a very large garage. As we walked in we were greeted right away and our server approached us and told us a little about the menu. There was lots to choose from and we ended up picking something random while we decided. The wine-by-the-bottle menu is very large and there were lots of options. The menu at Domacina changes frequently and was expecting more pasta options but it was a great mix of all types of food. The restaurant itself is very dimly lit with a nice big bar and a small oil lamp at each one. The service was spectacular and we started with a cheese board and the lamb sausage dish. The selection of cheese was fabulous and everything was rich and creamy. The bread came out with a beautiful smile. The lamb sausage was absolutely divine omg it was full of flavor and left you wanting more. For dinner, I ordered the risotto and well for some reason, it was not as good as I expected. I'm not sure what it was but the previous time I had it the risotto was better. The staff however was amazing and they made sure our glass of wine was full and they checked back about more food. The bathroom was clean and we enjoyed our time there.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance, delicious food and wine, and the service helpful. We definitely will return .

Yelp
Savannah provided a great beginning to a celebration dinner for pre-Christmas fun. 3 of us shared two entrees, Salad, tomato soup, a lovely bottle of wine and panna cotta for dessert! The Schuna Bay Salmon with sweet potato /cauliflower hash and braised green beans won for best dish, but the Duck Breast with couscous and lamb sausage was close behind! Savannah was totally attentive and recommended the duck entree . . Delicious! Extensive wine bar and a satisfying special evening. Plus . . Visit the wine shop on the way out and get 20% off!

Trou D.

Yelp
I was brought to domacin for my birthday by a friend. The wine recommendation was great from the bartender. The food was mediocre, tenderloin was over cooked, the grits lacked flavor and very runny. The charcuterie platter was pedestrian. Not to be overly harsh, the birthday dinner was very disappointing. The upshot was we both enjoyed a delicious burger at Howard's!

Yelp
5 STARS with great enthusiasm!!! Unbelievable food, fantastic service, great location in this super cute town in Stillwater, MN right on the water. Went with a Large group - we ordered practically everything and ate family style. Many of us said, this is the BEST FOOD I have ever had! It was difficult choosing which one was our favorite - and....Mushroom Risotto with truffle won! Gnocci, Salmon, Flatbreads...were all very fine as well. The meat and cheese platter got re-ordered a few times once we tried it - olives, cheese, bread and dipping sauce all so delicious! Everything has a sense of perfection. Definitely GO and don't worry about what to order. Very fine wines and they know how to recommend the most suitable for your taste(s). Yay to Domacin! I will go every time I am in town.

Olga S.

Yelp
I am happy to know that there is one more very good dining place in Stillwater. Great ( but not big) menu, delicious food, good choice of wines, nice and cozy space.

Richard H.

Yelp
The small plates and wine selection are very good. Staff knows their vines and are open and friendly.

Anjeline R.

Yelp
Went here because our B&B had a deal with them (Rivertown Inn) for dinner that my husband surprised me with. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect especially when we go to places with deals with other spots like hotels because they usually don't treat us as good a if we were buying from the full menu. Domacin, however, pleasantly surprised us! We had a 3 course savory meal that the chef prepared for us. We had a nice salad, scallops, and filet mignon that was cooked to perfection. My mouth is watering just typing this review out. We also had a wine pairing with it that was actually pretty good. I'd totally go back! Our server was awesome (can't remember who it was now but she was great!!!) and our experience for our mini-moon was completely wonderful!

Yelp
Most definitely, seems to be a Hot spot here in Stillwater during the week and especially the weekend. Great choice of wines and foods. This is kind of our hang out while we are here in Stillwater. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Little pricy but work every cent. Parking lot is tight, but plenty of street parking plus parking down the street at the US Bank.

Robert E.

Yelp
My wife and I go here frequently when we want a fancy night out. I am not a eine expert but they make you feel like one. Great food too. They also have wine shop inside and to the left and they are very helpful when you are selecting a wine. They also have holiday dinners several times a year where you get several courses each served with a good wine and it's very reasonably priced for a four star dinner. This is one of our favorite and regular spots in town.

Amber S.

Yelp
We were doing a little bar crawl in Stillwater over the Fourth of July weekend and had Domacin Wine Bar recommended to us by a server, so we decided to check it out! We were greeted quickly and while the indoor dining area was full and required a reservation, we were seated on the patio right away. The indoor section was laid out beautifully with a long wood bar and lots of light, and the patio had lots of room between tables and nice umbrellas for shade. The wine selection was so interesting and different than what is usually offered! We ordered 5 glasses and split them amongst four of us, making our own flight. The server was great with providing recommendations and even laid out the glasses in the order he recommended tasting them. We didn't order any food since we were headed to dinner afterward, but the menu looked great and will absolutely give us a reason to come back. If you like wine, I highly recommend this hidden gem!

Catherine J.

Yelp
Great food and wine! A Stillwater gem. The private wine room is definitely worth it if you like a place to visit with friends in an intimate setting.

Lorie C.

Yelp
Great place for dinner & wine. They have a wine shop in the restaurant and provide a discount to diners. Service matches the food-great! We alwasy take home a bottle or two when we eat here. They also have a private wine room that you can reserve for large groups.

Shelby M.

Yelp
I'm almost mad at myself that I haven't visited this place before. It's sort of one of those Stillwater gems. This place might get overlooked because it's a street up from the main drag. Absolutely great date spot but I went with one of my friends. We nabbed a reservation at 5 o'clock and by the time we left the place was packed. So I highly recommend reservations especially on a Friday night. It's situated in a old house style setting. There is a small parking lot right out front but also street parking. We each had a glass of a red blend type wine I cannot recall which one it was. They offered two styles of cheeseboards, we tried the "CHEESE BOARD" artisan cheeses, marcona almonds, dried cherries, apple. The server also gave us some French bread with olive oil and Balsamic dipping. We tried the Steak Tartare harissa aioli, fig, goat cheese, lemon, naan $16 so amazing. Tune Poke soy, ginger, garlic, wasabi aioli crispy togorashi wontons also amazing.

Blake B.

Yelp
Excellent and vast wine selection. It was fun just to park up and have a couple glasses while we were waiting for a reservation elsewhere. The food from what I saw the other patrons enjoying looked great, so will have to go again soon and try it. Service was great, except for an older gentleman who was oddly confrontational and attempted to be either joking or genuinely intimidating when he caught me glancing in his direction while he was giving waitstaff orders. Not sure what was up with him, so just let it go. Other than that, great place!

Mike C.

Yelp
Portions are perfect and food and wine weee great! A little pricey but worth it! Great location too!

Kristen K.

Yelp
Fantastic customer service. My reservation was not saved and their staff made room for us to eat. Great food and wine pairing recommendations. Comfy environment.

Lauren F.

Yelp
Writing this immediately after writing my other review about 7 vines. Could have been the wine flowing, but ended up at domacin for a last minute dinner on date night! Did some more wine drinking here, joined their amazing wine club! It's an insane deal and honestly have never had a bad wine here. The highlight though? Their filet. Hands down best meat in the Stillwater area and I'm picky about my meat. I like it tender, and fulfilling and that's hard to come by these days, so when you find a filet it's easy to fall for it... wait, am I speaking about steak anymore?! Anyways, back to it! their tuna poke?!?! First time trying this. A true chefs kiss!! Their staff is extremely knowledgeable about wine and their menu, service is always stellar and their wine shop is so well thought out. The BEST date night place in Stillwater.

Darren C.

Yelp
Enjoyable experience with one of the best wine selections in Stillwater. Food is very good with a limited selection menu. I ordered the halibut which was good but a touch over cooked making it a little dry, but acceptable. Pinot noir was good. Service was prompt and polite.

Yelp
It makes me sad to write this review as we used to love this restaurant. I emailed the restaurant to give them a chance to address the issues we encountered Friday, but they ignored me, so here I am. My wife and I went to an early dinner. The hostess was great and seated us right away. However, our waitress ignored us for a long time before taking our wine and food order. We could hear her behind the bar complaining to the bartender about another table that only ordered water to drink. Next she was eating behind the bar in plain sight, and walked through the restaurant munching on her food. She finally took our drink and food order. Once we received our food, she disappeared. She never checked in to hear if our food was ok. My wife ordered pasta. The scallops were ok, but the pasta was flavorless. I ordered risotto that was supposed to have beef tips. There were 3 slivers of beef and about 1/2 cup of risotto. $30 each for small, mediocre entrees. This restaurant has instituted shrinkflation and inflation simultaneously. When our waitress was nowhere to be found, I flagged down the bartender, who has been awesome every time she's served us. She got us our check and just as we did so, the waitress finally appeared and tried to up sell us on desert. What a joke. I'm sad to say we won't be back. I guess they're doing so well that they don't need semi regular customers to come back. Goodbye Domacin. Chris - please resend me your email as I did not receive it. I received the automated reservation email and the thank you for joining, so I'm sure you have my email address. I checked spam and it didn't go there.

Yelp
It was our anniversary, and we decided to eat here based on some recommendations from others. The restaurant is located just a block off Main Street in Stillwater MN. It has its own free parking lot. When we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Lots of windows, an exposed brick wall, and unique tables. Our server was friendly, efficient and helpful! We went on a Sunday at four pm, right when they opened and we were the first ones there. We had the place to ourselves for the first hour! We started with the flight of wine. It came with three wines for $30. We thought this would've been a fair deal if the glasses were full. Unfortunately, all three wines could've been poured into one glass. It was pretty much just three tastes of wine, which to me, seemed way too expensive! The nine dollar Cabernet tasted better and was way more economical! Our appetizer was the meat and cheese platter. This was fabulous! Several delicious cheeses, a couple of flavorful meats, and tasty olives! It paired perfectly with our wine. Our server also brought warm bread with oil and vinegar to the table. For dinner, I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was good, but not the best I've ever had. I'll probably order something else from the menu next time. The grits were delicious, but the shrimp tasted A little tough and overcooked. My husband thought it tasted great though! For dessert, we shared the lava cake. It was really yummy. I wished it would come with ice cream or whipped cream to balance the rich cake. Overall, we had a nice evening! Loo

Yelp
Made reservations for date night. Our waitress was wonderful and everything was timely and pleasant. The wine lists is overwhelming so we opted to order by the glass vs a bottle and started with the Cheese Plate. For $17, some may feel it's not enough for the price but for two people it was perfect and nicely paired, loved the Marcona almonds. For the main dishes, Duck and Aleksandar's Risotto. First off - the Duck was so delicious and tender - melted like butter, paired with five spice squash purée, was over the moon. Aleksandar's Risotto made with mushroom, balsamic and truffle oil and topped with grana padano cheese, delightfully creamy and savory. We left feeling very content. We will be back.

Galligan G.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant in every way. Love the food, the ambience, the wine selection, the service. Ask for Jill

Stephanie D.

Yelp
We have been going to this restaurant many times over the 20 years we've lived in Stillwater. I have always wanted to reserve the wine room and last night we finally did. The atmosphere, service, food and wine pairing was amazing.

Kyle A.

Yelp
My fiancee and I chose Domacin Restaurant and Winebar to celebrate our engagement earlier in the day. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel welcome. We mentioned that were were celebrating our engagement and they treated us to glasses of champagne! Their cheese plate was lovely and paired nicely with almonds, raisins and apple. I was quite satisfied with my smoked salmon salad, and my fiancee enjoyed her mushroom risotto, though she did find it almost a little too decadent and rich to finish. The restaurant itself was very warm and cozy, and the staff was attentive and friendly throughout. We also stopped in at the attached wine store, where the cashier was knowledgeable and friendly as well. We would definitely dine at Domacin again! Thanks for a wonderful, memorable visit!

Yelp
I came here to try this out with friend on a Saturday evening. We around around 5pm and were able to get seated immediately. The lighting was dim (was not great for food pictures, haha) and the ambiance was very romantic here. It was buzzing, not loud, and had a small-town, upscale, yet casual vibe. Our server was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful with wine pairings and answered all questions we had very thoroughly. Upon browsing the menu, I knew I wanted the Tagliatelle for my meal, but wasn't sure on what wine would pair nicely with it. Traditionally with seafood, a white would pair better, but I was curious of any of the red wines would compliment the dish too. Our server offered three options, 2 whites and a red. She also asked which soup I was thinking about and took that into consideration too. Ultimately, I decided on the Shea Chardonnay and was very happy with it! My friend got the Italian wine flight and she liked all the wines she had too! For starters, we each ordered a cup of soup. I opted for the Tuscan soup and my friend got the Chicken soup. My soup was tomato based with chorizo and spinach. It was a bit salty, even to my taste, and I usually like my foods salty and it was served not even a tiny bit warm. I don't know if it was supposed to be served that way, since my friend's soup was piping hot. A small loaf was bread with olive oil was also complimentary. It was great with the soup, toasty on the outside and soft on the inside. The atmosphere here seems to be pretty relaxed. She gave us time to chat in between getting our wines, to taking soup order, then to taking our entree order. The speed of service was more relax and we felt well taken-care of and not rushed. On the contrary, it would probably seem slow to some people, but I appreciated it because my friend and I had a lot of catching up to do. For entrees, I ordered the Tagliatelle and my friend ordered the Mushroom Risotto and added scallops. The tagliatelle had scallops, shrimp and tomatoes in a light herby, garlic sauce. At first it didn't look like a lot of food, but they were very generous with the seafood portion. The two scallops were good size and the four shrimps were large as well. The noodles were light, but filling. After I ate about half of it, I was starting to get full. The seafood was fresh and fragrant and the dish was delicious! We didn't have room for dessert, but there were a few offerings on the dessert menu that looked quite good. There is also a little store connected to the restaurant where you can purchase any of the wines on the menu and they also offer many more selections of other wines. Overall, it was a very cute place in Stillwater. I am looking forward to coming back in the warmer months and enjoying a nice glass of wine on their patio.

Maureen D.

Yelp
We had a lovely time at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the champagne we ordered for our celebration was wonderful. The only reason the review is not 5 stars is that it was too cold in the restaurant.

Richard H.

Yelp
Nice wine bar and good small plates. I wish they had no alcohol wines for those who stay away from alcohol.

Julia B.

Yelp
amazing food, wine and experience. definitely a stillwater favorite. would always recommend.

Patti I.

Yelp
I've consistently given Domacin five stars, but it seems to have slipped recently. Service is always great, and you can never go wrong with the Wine Lovers Appetizer (selection of cheeses, salami, prosciutto, olives, and nuts.) For dessert, their panna cotta has no peer. But on two recent visits my husband and I were disappointed. A few weeks ago his bison ribeye was perfectly cooked, but the accompanying rajas con crema (peppers in cream sauce) were missing. Then yesterday his Arctic Char entrée ($28) was a minuscule portion, and overcooked. Our waitress told us that the menu would be changing over this week, so perhaps this is a temporary lapse. At these prices, however, I'm not inclined to give them too many chances to redeem themselves. Please, Domacin, get back on track!

Lindsay J.

Yelp
Came here for our wedding anniversary a few months back and can't stop thinking about the food!!! I had the beef tenderloin and an additional side of cheese grits. To die for. The meat was so tender and flavorful. I'm trying to plan a date night for this weekend but don't want to give another place a try - would much rather spend my money here because it's been tested and approved lol.

Kirk H.

Yelp
We were seated at a back corner table, which might explain the romantic atmosphere, but there were larger tables around us, yet the restaurant still felt intimate. Our server was incredibly nice, and very helpful in both food choices and wine. I had the gnocchi, which was very well made (not pasty as it can be sometimes), and my wife had the salmon, which was very good, and unique with the green curry. Overall it was a lovely evening, and I would definitely recommend Domacin!

Kristin H.

Yelp
This bar is so cute and Cassandra is an AMAZING server. She knew so much and recommended a number of bottles for us to try and each was more amazing than the last. She made this experience for our group. Kudos to her!

Lorraine N.

Yelp
This is a nice little wine bar and I think they have a decent atmosphere and selection. Great place to grab a glass or bottle and chit chat. The soup i ordered was on the extreme salty side and I did not finish it however they did not notice or comment so I said nothing. I love the wine but not sold on the food just yet.

Rosalie Y.

Yelp
I've been to many restaurants in Stillwater and had missed this gem. Today was the day to see what I've missed. We started with the cheeseboard and it had a nice selection with bread and the standard oil and balsamic vinegar. My steak put my review to five stars. It was absolutely delicious! It wasn't over seasoned and it was cooked just like I love it! For dessert we were treated to the molten chocolate cake and all I could think of was how good that would be with a Cab. Did I mention this was a wine bar too? How you choose, I have no idea. So if you're up for an adventure, try this lovely restaurant out. See if you agree-

Zachary M.

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there, and greatly enjoyed it. We made reservations for 5 pm on a Friday night, but could have walked in and gotten a great table. Our waitress, Pamela, had a wonderful French accent and was very warm and personable. She brought us complimentary champagne to start our visit, which was very nice. We started with the cheese plate ($16) which had three cheeses (8 yr old cheddar, double Brie, and a dry parmesan-like cheese), dried cherries, apple slices, almonds and bread. I'd give it 3 stars, as it would have benefited from dates instead of the dried cherries, and the dry cheese didn't seem like the best choice for a three-cheese board. It just didn't seem to hang together well when eating it. We also had the Arugula Spinach Salad ($9), which was split for us for our convenience. It was a fresh offering that we enjoyed very much. My wife is a vegetarian and ordered the Mushroom Risotto ($20). It didn't look very appetizing quite frankly, but the flavor made up for it. A bit of greenery on top would have helped its presentation, but my wife enjoyed it quite a bit. It is nice to have a quality vegetarian offering on the menu. I had their fish special ($30), which was sea bass, asparagus, and a very nice white sauce with petite grapes. The fish was cooked perfectly, and was wonderfully flavored. I could have eaten two, it was so good! Certainly some of the best fish I have had in Stillwater. The wine list is extensive and they have won awards from notable sources. The list came in a three ring binder, which you don't see very often! We had the 2016 Grand Napa Cab ($42/bottle), which I wouldn't recommend. It was quite astringent, and we could have done better. Our bill totaled $126 not including a tip, making this a special event kind of dining experience. But we enjoyed it and will be back again!

Kami C.

Yelp
We went yesterday for the first time and it was a terrible experience. The bartender could not have been any less friendly if he tried. The wine was not good and cheeseboard was nothing special. It's a cute place, but when you feel as though you are a burden sitting at a bar ordering...no thanks. Will never go back.

Paula R.

Yelp
We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times, and it never fails to amaze us. The food is phenomenal, the wine options are out of this world, and the staff are incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Every time we go there we feel like it is such a treat. It is our go-to restaurant for all celebrations. You will not be disappointed!

Gus D.

Yelp
Visited with my daughter, and very much enjoyed the food and service. Pamela, our server, was charming and professional. We had the tartar, beet salad, scallops, and duck breast. All were delicious, and beautifully presented. After dinner we visited the wine shop that is part of the restaurant and has "pride of ownership" written all over it. The shop has a well thought out selection of high quality wines, and Dennis gave good recommendations.

Kristi M.

Yelp
We went for the first time tonight! We shared the beef tenderloin and rigatoni. Both were absolutely amazing. Great wine, wonderful ambiance and the food and service were incredible.

Holger M.

Yelp
Probably the best restaurant in Stillwater! Food is always amazing and the wine selection is fantastic. Owner Aleks is first class. Daniel, either in the wine shop or working as the bar manager / server is full of good recommendations and great stories. Rumor has it that he was in a Brit Pop band in another life ;) The rest of the team is super friendly and professional. Definitely a must do restaurant in the Twin Cities area. Moving back to California after 5 years. I'll definitely miss these guys.....

Veronica T.

Yelp
A lovely dinner/wine bar! Extensive wine list and extremely friendly service! The Arctic char was fabulous and the lamb chops were delicious! Had a Napa Chardonnay which was lovely! Charlotte was great and fun to talk to!

I've been a pretty regular customer at Domacin since it opened. Aleks gave me recommendations on wineries to visit on my upcoming trip to Napa/Sonoma. He was spot on! The wine, as well as the food, is impeccable here. Service is always great and the staff is so friendly. Chris in the wine shop is a treat to visit with and has recommended wines for me that aren't necessarily in my comfort zone, but so delicious! You won't be disappointed with Domacin-It's truly one of my favorite places to be!

Yelp
We had reservations for a special occasion, were slightly overdressed as others were in shorts on this very hot day! We asked for outdoor seating but chose inside instead and were accommodated. Our server Pamela was superb, loved bantering with her in French. My sea bass in miso broth was absolutely delicious. So too were our two desserts, the panna cotta and the molten chocolate lava cake both divine. In-house wine shop was a bonus, really friendly guy at the counter.

Yelp
My Best Brunch Ever Wanting our friend visiting from Milwaukee to experience Domacin, we thought we would try the Sunday Brunch. Were we glad we did! We each selected something different and were all pleased with our choices. My husband ordered the Omelet Du Jour which consisted of eggs, prosciutto, white cheddar and chives, served with lightly dressed greens topped with Feta. My friend chose the Pork Belly Hash, her first time sampling pork belly. She raved about the Avocado Chili Crema served with it and the tenderness of the meat. I chose the Walleye Benedict. My server found out that the kitchen was out of the Polenta Cake that was the base of the recipe. She asked if I was o.k. with subbing crab for the polenta. I agreed. It was delicious: the walleye was perfectly done and flavorful and the egg and Hollandaise sauce were terrific accompaniments! If memory serves, asparagus (perfectly crisp tender cooked) was subbed for the broccolini and worked very well. While we waited for our order our server brought out some Anadama bread for us to try along with information on the origins of the name. It was slightly sweet and very fresh (I'm pretty sure it was made with molasses.) Can't wait to bring our daughter and son-in-law here. Hopefully we'll hit a sunny day where we can sit out on the deck and enjoy a drink with our brunch selection. I am dying to try the St. Germain, with Elderflower Blossom Liqueur and champagne!

Yelp
What a disappointment. I couldn't decide if this was even worth me spending the time to write. But here goes. We first went to this restaurant in 2012 and had an amazing experience including the food, service, everything. Actually I wrote a glowing review at that time and have since taken it down as of tonight. We went back last year in 2015 and it was a bit of a miss but we thought every restaurant can have a bad night. So we then decided to come back in December 2016 and what a mistake and a waste of our time tonight. We had made a reservation a month ago knowing we would be in Stillwater and when I called to confirm they had no record of that. Next we arrived right on time and our table was not ready so we are asked to sit at a different table that was not as comfortable but ok fine no big deal. The reason for this review was that the food was mediocre, nothing special AND what really was the total mishap tonight was the service. We waited 15 mins before even getting to order a drink. Then it took 25 mins before they came back to take our order. And then it took 45 more mins for us to receive mediocre room tempature rissoto and a side of overly seasoned vegetables. The topper was they made a sorry attempt at acknowledging the slow service with numerous excuses (seriously?) and no sincere attempt to make things right for the complete lack of quality on all fronts. What a joke and a shame, we won't be back and we will immediately stop telling people they must go here, which we had happily been doing for years.

Yelp
We had the best meal of all the years we have been going to Domacin. Mussels with Udon noodles was amazing. The tenderloin was perfection. And the wine, of course outstanding. So grateful to have this gem in our town. So happy to see all of the great staff.

Yelp
What happened. I used to love you, Domacin. Today, July 28, 2018 I wasn't very happy with your food. Your Wine plate was quite skimpy. We had to ask for bread and olive oil. But the sorry part was the entree-- Chicken Roulade was sad. Bland, small sitting on a large plate looking all alone. Wasn't a pretty site. Maybe a few greens or something for appeal. Maybe have your chef or lack of chef watch the food channel to learn a bit about presentation. $112 wasted. Plus I told our waiter I didn't like the food and she just dismissed me.
