Massive Dog Park Canine Commons Is Coming to Austin With a Coffee Shop | Eater Austin

"Planned as a roughly $16 million, 50,000-square-foot indoor pet facility in the Domain, this massive indoor dog park will combine retail space, large indoor off-leash areas, outdoor off-leash areas, and dedicated social spaces for dogs and their owners. The concept will offer memberships and day passes and will include a dog-friendly coffee shop operated through a partnership, with proceeds pledged to help feed dogs in shelters. Part of a multi-city expansion that also targets Phoenix, Omaha, and Nashville, the location was slated to open in the Domain in late spring 2020." - Erin Russell

Had a great first experience. The owners are all friendly and that is reflected in how well behaved all the dogs are. I went at a super packed time of day but none of the dog fought. All were having a good time. Lots of conversations among the humans. Seemed a place to make a nice community of dog lovers.

People are pretty good on keeping thier dog in check. A lot of regulars. Fun place for a dog to run and play. Water fountains available.

Not that well fenced in, if you have a sight hound be absolutely certain it will obey a recall command unfailingly. There is dangerous traffic near the entrance.

Domain Central Park is where I take my pup few times a week. Tiphy enjoys it here, she roams around free and get her exercise a secure and fenced in area with access to drinking water. Waiting for that proposed shed for that sun shade. Love the chairs and benches though. I feel there should be a smaller fenced in area for the smaller size dogs with attitude towards bigger dogs.

Clean and well maintained space. Dogs are pretty much well behaved and owners do pay attention to catch bad behavior before it gets aggressive. It is pretty busy in the evening around 5pm with larger dogs, but not so busy in the mornings 630-9ish.

BRING WATER. Both water fountains are broken. A regular told me one of them has been down for at least three months and the second is now also gone. The exterior apartment side gate is also completely gone so be careful not to let out other dogs. Nice area and easy parking. Park itself is in pretty good shape! Nice people.

Love this new park area with grass and open space for the dogs. Better than the wood chips and I enjoy the regulars that come here too.

Favorite place to take our dogs. We always meet so many friendly dogs here, clean and very short walk away from the stores 🐾🐾
