"A few minutes outside Montpellier, amid fields and vineyards, a major surprise awaits. This superb hotel and wine estate boasts enchanting surroundings to be contemplated through the bay windows of the dining area. Favouring seasonal produce from the southernmost reaches of France, the chef composes elegant, meticulous dishes that steer clear of bells and whistles. His creations abound with personality and flavour, eg roast saddle of Lozère lamb with artichoke and Collioure anchovies – best enjoyed with one of the estate's wines." - Michelin Inspector

Domaine de Verchant (Montpellier, Occitanie) 1 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"By now you know everything there is to know about the south of France — from the farmhouses and vineyards of Provence to the waterfront glamour of the Côte d’Azur. Less storied, perhaps, though no less worthwhile, is this bit of the Languedoc countryside just outside of Montpellier, a place where the estates are still French, and some of them are quite contemporary. Look around the Domaine de Verchant, for example — were it not for the acres of parkland and Southern vegetation outside the windows, it could almost be mistaken for a chic little city boutique." - Tablet Hotels

I adored this Chateau! It was perfection from my point of view. It is only a few minutes from Montpelier by taxi. It has parking on site. This is a big beautiful complex. The buildings are a mixture of the old Chateau and modern additions which seem to meld perfectly. My room was exquisite with a large balcony. The colors popped out as I perused the room upon arrival. The drapes were also colorful and so intriguing. The room was large and comfortable. Reception and the bellman were so helpful. My dinner that first night was wonderful. Although I ate inside it felt like I was outdoors as I was facing windows and vineyards. I spend a good amount of time at the spa. Marian, my masseuse did a great job and I then used the heated pool, and eventually had lunch outside by the outdoor pool overlooking the vineyards and the glass/open restaurant. I would definitely like to return here.

The hotel is amazing. Rooms are large and beautiful. The whole property is pristine. The la plague restaurant is good but service is very slow but since you are on vacation just relax and enjoy. The other restaurant is very good. A little pricey but the wine pairings are totally worth it.

Beautiful sprawling hotel/spa/winery. Huge well kept grounds.Chose between old rustic cottage or modern room. Our ground floor cottege came with a private patio overrun by jasmine. Indoor heated pool/spa included in price. Outdoor pool with bar/restaurant overlooking the winery. Michelin restaurant with fairly reasonable prices on premises. Great friendly service, English widely spoken by staff

We spent a night at Domaine de Verchant just outside Montpellier — a beautiful hotel set in a vineyard. Our suite was elegant, and we loved cycling through the vines and walking in the lovely gardens. Though there was some construction as it was just before the soft opening, the hotel was still gorgeous! We’d love to return once it’s fully ready!

From what used to be a charming hotel they progressed into an overrated very modern hotel were design is more important than comfort.Thr bathroom had no space tomput down your privata stuff. The restauran although beautiful the food was at best mediocre. Best avoided.

My friend and I stayed there 2 days ago. Not sure how they got such good review. The experience didn’t meet five star hotel standard at all. This was the worst for our whole Europe trip. Firstly, the room is big but very basic, even the door is brokering. Then, the service is very unprofessional. We checked in the first night, the reception was cold; then, they tried to charge us for included breakfast, and we waited almost 1 hour for our breakfast and they kept forgetting our order. We didn’t end up having it as we had a tight schedule, but they didn’t do anything with it (only said sorry). The management is very unorganised. Some people are nice to talk to, but I don’t think we would go back again.

What an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE GEM!! We stayed here for two nights to celebrate my friend’s birthday and it exceeded our every expectation!!! The staff were incredibly friendly and kind and went absolutely out of their way to make our experience 5 stars. They gave our party 2 free room upgrades because of the special occasion and every single experience was special. The food is 10/10, the room was 10/10, the location 10/10, breakfast 10/10, wine 15/10 and the facilities too! I almost want to keep this place a secret 😂 But if you’re thinking of going here BOOK NOW!! It’s incredible and I cannot wait to go back with my husband.

Yelp
Probably my top pick for lodging in Southern France. Get the suite with epic bathroom and french doors leading to full balcony with lounge chairs. Complete gym with all new equipment. Pool is phenomenal as it is big enough for true lap swimming while having an infinity edge overlooking the vineyard. Spa puts the best in any major city to shame. This place is more of a destination as the surrounding area is not that great but there is no reason to leave here. Good 48 hour excursion for cocktails, nice food, swimming, spa, and workout. Parking is not clear as you should leave your bags near this little caretaker house otherwise it is a trek to the rooms from the main lot. I strongly suggest not to miss.
