"Built on the ruins of a monastery hermitage in the heart of Provençale Drôme, this proud homestead first woos us with its bare stone walls, vaulted ceilings, vintage furnishings and patio. The cuisine celebrates regional and Mediterranean produce thanks to spot-on recipes: accurate, precise cooking, flavoursome, balanced recipes, all of which in keeping with the establishment’s sustainable development ethos." - Michelin Inspector

Very nice hotel surrounded by a large park, and a great restaurant, both fairly priced. Pleasant and efficient staff.

Lovely boutique hotel with two nice restaurants. The hotel is conveniently located close to the highway and for a great spot to stop over. It is also a destination in its own right but most people would probably rather only stay one or two nights. We’ll definitely stay here again if you pass by.

Having stayed in budget hotels in Montelimar on several occasions, with some prett ghastly experiences, for our latest trip, we cast the net a little wider, and came up with Domaine Du Colombier.|After a 600+ mile drive from the UK, we were really just looking for somewhere to lay our heads for a few hours, however nothing could have prepared us for such a divine place.|We were somewhat concerned when we had to turn off and drive through an industrial area, however the road quickly took us into a quiet backwater with some simply stunning properties.|The hotel was simply magnificent. With its history based in the 14th Century, and originally a stopping point for the Camino, it is now a superb blend of ancient and modern. The staff were really attentive, more than helpful, and really welcoming, so first impressions excellent.|The room was small, but really functional, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, with the communal areas in the same vein.|There are two choices of restaurant, a fine dining experience, and a bright and modern bistro. If the food in the bistro is anything to go by, the fine dining would be off the scale good! Again, the staff were really helpful, very well trained, with the whole experience being wonderful.|If I was being really hyper critical, the only downside was a lack of information as to what the breakfast offering was, but such a minor detail, it fades into insignificance with just how good everything else is!|We are booked to return in January, really cannot wait!

Beautiful estate in the countryside, friendly staff, rooms clean but not too large. Combining the charme of a traditional Provence estate with the comfort of a modern boutique hotel. We ate at the bistro restaurant and would definitely recommend it. The breakfast buffet is not too large but has many delicacies, such as the various local cheeses, the jams, or the delicious cured ham. We only stayed one night while passing through. For a longer stay, I might choose something a bit more cozy.

This pleasant and tranquil hotel has a lot going for it. There are two very fine restaurants, a cheerful and helpful staff throughout, lovely grounds, comfortable (for the most part) rooms and a convenient location not very far off major roads.||||I find myself making the same criticisms of a number of French hotels, and find them annoying especially at this price point.||||It sees that someone buys fixtures because they look good, and forgets to see how they work or don't! Our bathroom had two small "attractive" table top bowl sinks. They were too small, and only good for making sure that water and soap gets splashed outside the bowl as easily as inside.||||Why do so many hotels buy recessed ceiling lights? The result is that lighting in the bathroom is half moonlight. I am getting tired of shaving in twilight, and my wife doesn't enjoy trying to apply make-up in the same conditions.||||We had a large tub and a hand wan. We would have preferred a shower. At the very least, put in a partial vertical glass/plastic panel as is found even in budget and mid-range hotels. ||||I know we are in France. But anglophone guests want/need to keep up with the news. For a few Euros more, add some English language news channels. BBC, CNN, even France 24 are readily available.||||We can live without the foregoing, but it would be relatively easy and inexpensive to correct these poor choices. What would otherwise be an excellent review goes down a peg.

Thé Michelin Starred fine dining restaurant is located in a beautiful area of Malataverne, Provence, France. Our visit was for a birthday lunch for our daughter and our French friends arranged a surprise location which was a great outcome both from the location aspect as well as the salubrious ambience . We chose five course menu. Starting with an Amuse Bouche , nitro olive oil and fresh wood fired oven breads ( Pain au feu de Bois) and the Foie gras-Andignac ( Castelnau Chalosse) starter . We were told that the olive oil ( Domaine de Liby) was from the local area of Nyons and delicious in taste . |The scallop served on a creamy risotto tempered with saffron ( Noix de Saint -Jacques au sel) (Risotto aquarello ) was to die for and the le presse de pomme( pressed apple dessert ) was the icing on the cake !|The sommelier guided us to choose very nice white red and rose wines to accompany thé dégustation . |Particularly we loved all of the menu items we chose . We were doubly appreciative of the excellent explanation of the menu and exquisite service .
