Family-Owned Napa Winery Monticello Vineyards Could Go Up For Sale | Eater SF

"Recently opened for tastings by reservation as of May 11, the Domaine Eden property—owned by Jeffrey and Ellie Patterson and the original site of Tom Mudd’s Cinnabar winery—was purchased in 2007 but never before opened to the public; I learned guests can now taste wines from Domaine Eden and Mount Eden Vineyards at the property by reservation from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through November." - Paolo Bicchieri

Mount Eden and Domaine Eden are pretty much sister wineries, just open at different times of the week (ME weekdays, DE weekends) We shared a chardonnay flight $40, pinot noir flight $45, and cabernet flight $65. Each consisted of 3 - 3 oz pours. Majority of the wines were good. Prices are on the higher end, but wines are high quality They don't sell food, but allow outside food. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Decent views. Excellent service. Tasting by appointment only The drive there sucks, literally a dirt road hiking path for a mile or 2. Only enough room for 1 way traffic, but definitely worth checking out

Loved the wines from Domaine Eden. Fantastic views at this hidden gem. A windy road to get there off of hwy 9 but well worth it. Amazing views of the bay and mountains from this beautiful property. They serve Mount Eden and Domaine Eden wines which are all well worth trying. Our host, Frederick, was very friendly, approachable and knowledgable and spent a lot of time sharing his expertise.

Tranquil place and relaxing vibe. Elegant wine focusing on what the land and grape represent at Santa Cruz Mountain AVA. While the vineyard isn’t easy to reach, Google map should show the right way. At a wonderful weather, this place for sure worth the visit.

We had a wonderful tasting experience over the weekend. The wines are delicious, impeccable service, and what a gorgeous property! This is the perfect place to take a yummy picnic with some friends and enjoy the view over Silicon Valley while tasting these iconic wines.

Wow what an amazing place! Stunning view with stunning wine. We were greeted very warmly and immediately felt welcomed. It was a very hot day and their chilled Chard was to dieeee for! I would 100% recommend if you are looking to spend a chill Sunday daydreaming of what heaven should be like.

Yelp
My wife and I visited Domaine Eden today for a tasting. We tried a selection of Cabs, a Pinot and Chardonnay. We also had a glass of their Rose (made from Pinot Noir grapes). We enjoyed all the wines, but especially the Rose. However, the real standout for us was the venue. Gorgeous views, and the tasting area was beautifully laid out. Frederic and his colleague were really helpful and attentive, and knew the local wine history. We feel fortunate that we live nearby, and have this excellent winery to come back to in the future.
