Domaine MAESTRACCI

We had a wonderful visit to Domain Maestracci today! They accommodated a tour/tasting in the afternoon even though outside official hours ( we emailed ahead to reserve ) and were very generous with their time during our visit. Our guide Morgan was excellent and spoke quite good English so I was able to get all my questions answered. He also did a good job guiding our tasting so that we focused on the wines we were most likely to enjoy ( reds and rose in our case ). I was amazed at how affordable even their top wines were. It's also possible to spend a bit more and get some library selections going back to 2007, though that inventory is limited.

Recently, I visit this vinyards with some friends. We bought a two 5 liter box of red wine and 4 bottle. Until now we opened one big box and a bottle, the taste is equivalent to vinegar. We enquiried the reseller and they proposed to have it changed, if we pass to the vinyard. However, we already left Corsica, therefore is not an acceptable option for us. We just hope the rest will be better, but is very unlickily. Very disappointed not suggested to anyone.

We were visiting from the US and the owner gave us a tour and tasting on a day that the winery was closed. We were blown away by the wonderful Corsican hospitality and even more so by the wine quality. The long history of grape growing and winemaking on this property is very special and it’s a joy to have learned about it and tried the wines. We’ll be buying this wine back home if we can find it.

Would give more stars if I could! First off, the service here is phenomenal. The owner came in on her day off to give us a tour and tasting because we were only in town for the day. The property is beautiful, the wine’s EXCEPTIONAL! This is a must stop!!! Can’t recommend enough!

Our favorite wine from Corsica

C'est avec la visite de ce domaine que nous avons clôturé nos vacances afin de ramener quelques bouteilles de vin local si la dégustation s'avérait à la hauteur... ce qui a été le cas! Nous avons passé un bon moment et avons été très agréablement surpris par la qualité des vins dégustés (c'était notre premier séjour en Corse et nous ne connaissions pas du tout leurs vins). Nous avons optimisé l'espace restant dans la voiture pour faire de la place à quelques bouteilles que nous nous réjouissons déjà de déguster en bonne compagnie et autour d'un bon repas, en nous remémorant ces magnifiques vacances ! Encore merci pour l'agréable accueil :-)
