We had a delicious lunch today at Domaine South and excellent service from Jennifer our waitress! Our group shared the warm marinated olives and whipped feta for appetizers - both great choices! The rock shrimp tacos were flavor packed with cilantro, onions, tomatoes served on blue corn tortillas. I had the mouth watering grilled cheese sandwich served with tomato soup-ultimate comfort food. We would love to return and try more from the unique menu!

We were visiting Alabama from out of state. In searching for a place for dinner, we decided to give Domain South a try. We were NOT disappointed at all! We did not have reservations, so the two of us sat at the bar. Our server (Emera) was incredible. She was very helpful with the menu in suggesting what to order. She was very knowledgeable about the wine choices too! I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a great menu with delicious food. We shared appetizers including the Escargot, Ceviche, Octopus and Duck Fat Frites.

Balcony was lovely, our server Jonna was incredible & made us feel at home. The summer salad, red snapper, and scallops are some of the best food in Huntsville. We will be back to try more of the menu!

I had a wonderful experience at Domaine South. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a nice evening. The wine selection was also impressive, with a variety of options that paired perfectly with our meal. It’s definitely a great spot for a date night. The overall vibe is romantic and classy without being too formal. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a special place to dine.

Google
Domaine is just off the main path but worth a visit. This is a great place for date night. Sit and enjoy the charcuterie plate with some cocktails at the bar and look outside towards the river. I recommend the fancy ham and triple milk cheese.

Love love love Domaine South. I have been here a dozen times and have only had wonderful meals and friendly service. My favorites have been the Beef bourguignon, Leg of venison, and last summer they had some light summer pasta that was fantastic. A got the Iberico Pork chop and it was soul food on steroids. Divine! Pictured Leg of Venison

Listen. This place. You know when you take a hot shower, put on pajamas, and then lie down under a ceiling fan and fall asleep watching The Golden Girls? With your dogs safely snuggling next to you? That’s what this place feels like.

Google
I don’t usually write reviews, but I just had to for this incredible place! As someone originally from France, I’ve been searching high and low for food that captures the flavors of home—and this restaurant comes pretty darn close. The quality of the food is top-notch (though, I’ll admit, it can be a touch on the oily side at times), and the wine selection is chef’s kiss. The duck fat fries? Absolutely divine. And the risotto salmon and farmer’s market plate? Easily my favorites so far. I’ve only been twice, but I’m already planning my next visit—I’m determined to work my way through the rest of the menu especially for the Bœuf Bourguignon. If you’re looking for European inspired dishes and wines that hit the spot, this is the place to be!

Yelp
Updating for the amazing girls lunch I had last Friday around 12! It was busy even at lunch hour but plenty of bar seating available. App: we shared the shrimp watermelon ceviche served with blue corn chips. Drinks are always good she got their Paloma and I got the aperol spritz. We ordered their meat and 3 which changes depending on what day you go. This day we could choose from fried chicken tenders or catfish; your choice of three sides. I ordered their cornbread (our server brought us their amazing herb butter), collard greens, and cheesy grits. Everything was truly amazing and fresh. Gave me summer vibes and southern comfort. Absolutely delicious. It was enough to share for lunch with our appetizer.

Yelp
"...orders Niçoise salad and calls it a ni-coise salad" All jokes aside the Niçoise salad was phenomenal as was the cake! Will definitely be returning and looking forward to sitting on the patio in the fall months.

Yelp
Domaine South has a nice, cozy atmosphere and it's beautifully decorated. I would recommend that you get reservations because it was pretty packed. Our waitress Kristine was nice and very patient with us since we had quite a few questions. The food was decent. I had the Pan Seared Redfish entree. It had a fishy taste so definitely needed a lemon to cut some of that. Luckily it had some time of red/orangey sauce so that "saved" the dish. I did notice my entree was served luke warm. We had to wait almost 45 minutes to an hour after we ordered to receive our food. Not sure what the hold up was, but Kristine did continue to check up on us. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and chocolate cake. The bread pudding was delicious as well as the chocolate cake, however the cake was very rich and decadent to the point where it needed to be paired with a large cup of milk lol. Now that would've been nice. All in all, decent experience. Maybe it was just a not so good night for the kitchen, but may try to visit again.

Yelp
Man the picture had to wait. But I love domaine south may be even a bit biased but definitely my favorite I'm gonna need to run this back tomorrow Food is always amazing and the interior always gives me a good vibe. Fav dinner spot

Yelp
This steak was soooo good. It melted in my mouth. The chargrilled zucchini that came with it was so good as well. Also, the mashed potatoes with it were amazing. Not pictured were the duck fat fries and oh my goodness those were heavenly. The ambience here is also so nice and relaxing. This is a great place to meet up with some friends at after a long week. I love this place so much!

Yelp
What a cool bar! Shannon shoed us some great service and a good French and Spanish wine. Stop by for a cocktail.

Yelp
Best Restaurant in Huntsville - Hands Down. Domaine South is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, everything feels intentional--beautiful atmosphere, warm service, and a menu that's thoughtful without being pretentious. The food is always creative, seasonal, and perfectly executed. Their wine selection is unmatched in Huntsville. Whether you're there for a casual lunch or a special night out, it always feels like an experience. The staff are also amazing. Domaine South sets the bar--and nothing else in town even comes close.

Yelp
Really enjoy Domaine South. They are very allergen friendly and food is yummy! So definitely recommend for Gluten-Free, Lactose-Free, and Vegans. Some of the items I enjoy: - Cashew Vegan Cheese - Duck Breast and Red Pepper Jam - Mushroom Toast - 45 Day Dry Aged Ribeye

Yelp
Le Domaine Sud est extraordinaire! We created our own charcuterie board which included Nueske's Smoked Sliced Duck, the Gouda, Cow's Milk Cheese, the Cheek Terrine, and Spanish Fig Jam. The smoked duck was simply divine. Le Domaine Sud vous procure un sentiment de familiarité chaleureuse et familiale, or should I say Domaine South gives you a sense of cozy, home-like familiarity. D'autres choses peuvent nous changer, mais nous commencer et finir comme une famille. English Translation: Other things can change us, but we start and end like family. Magnifique!

Yelp
My favorite date night spot. They are always changing up the menu and the service is so great. The chef has a nice touch to all The dishes they create. Bartenders are so good as well. Perfect spot overlooking the park. Love it.

Yelp
This is a great spot for dining in downtown Huntsville--one of the best, in my opinion--though I have a few minor quibbles with their kitchen (see below). tl;dr is: go, get charcuterie, enjoy. Our server (Amelia?) was kind and attentive, and we made a reservation (likely needed, though you can sometimes get a spot at the bar) so we were promptly seated. Of note: they have lots of happy hour specials, a full bar, a great wine list, and (yay) an ample selection of non-alcoholic wines and spirits. Anyway, we got a charcuterie board because we are gluttons. All boards come with fruit, toasted baguette rounds, and almonds. In addition, we got: A manchego: it was fine, but nothing outstanding A gouda: it was delicious and well aged Deviled eggs: overpriced, a little sweet for me, but most deviled eggs are awesome Smoked duck: not smoked in house, still delicious, and I appreciated the in-house made peppers on top Pate: also not made in house (grrr, why not?) and just fair Canadian Bakin baguette: it's warm, it's well made, and the butter is divine We were overstuffed, but we still got entrees. This is where I started having issues. Better half got the scallops, which were in a cream sauce and served with a few spears of asparagus and mashed potatoes. This dish was WAY too rich--either serve roasted potatoes (or a lighter equivalent) or knock back the cream sauce. I tried a scallop and, though well cooked, it was grittttttty. C'mon folks, clean the scallops well! I went for the beef bouguignon. It was...fine. The beef was tender, the sauce well prepared, but...eh. I prefer this dish more traditionally prepared and served with pearl onions, carrots, and lardon (I'm meh on mushrooms). The mashed potatoes were lumpy, and my green beans weren't trimmed properly which was fun to pick out of my mouth. Overall, this is a great spot but the kitchen needs to amp up their game a bit.

Yelp
My company had a staff dinner here and they chose a great spot! The location is right by the park and you can find big swings in the back to sit and wait. Once seated, I couldn't help but to order a bunch of different items on the menu for us to share. What's fun about this place is that you can create your own charcuterie board. I thoroughly enjoyed that. I highly recommend this place and would come back again for sure.

Yelp
This is my most favorite restaurant in Huntsville and I have been here 30 years! Their food is impeccable, delicious! Service and ambiance was perfect! It's always my go to!!!

Mike N Joyce S.

Yelp
Excellent food! Service hasn't been up to previous standards. While lovely when first visited, it has since been a major disappointment. It's too noisy anywhere inside for conversation. Last visit nearby patrons were rude, and the staff was unpleasant. We drive a fair distance. It hasn't been worth the drive.

Yelp
Some of the best food in Huntsville. My husband had put on our reservation that we were there celebrating my birthday, that was not mentioned once. So probably won't be going back for anymore special occasions, but it was very delicious and lovely as always.

Yelp
We went during the Christmas season which was a good choice because of all the Christmas trees set up. We sat outside & it was really a nice ambiance. We started off with the escargot which was cooked perfectly and tarte flambe. My husband had the quail & garlic mashed potatoes. I had the Joyce Farms Chicken - Pan Roasted Bone-In Chicken Breast, Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Both were very flavorful. Our desserts were the creme brulee and a PB & jelly pie. I still think about that pie!

Yelp
The patio was rustic but with a beautiful view over Big Spring and its gardens. The pork chop I ordered was very good and the service was excellent without being intrusive. So happy to have finally tried this restaurant as so many in town disappoint.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in Hsv! They have the best cheeseburger in town, great fish dishes charcuterie boards and selection of fine gourmet cheeses and wine. They also have great cocktails. It is a warm friendly and fun place!!

Yelp
Refused to substitute the vegetable that came with the meal. Could not eat. Conners will substitute any vegetables that come with a meal for any vegetables on there menu. Looks like Conners also has 3 to 5 times as many customers as Domaine South. It's their store, it's their way they wanna do business, so let it be !

Yelp
My wife and I have dined at Domaine South many times always with great delight, however last Saturday was not one of those times. The seared duck breast was extremely tough, had an unpleasant smell and if not for the sauce would've been nearly flavorless. My lovely wife ordered the scallops and a vegetable medly and received three medium sized scallops and a a huge amount of vegetables, they were good vegetable, only good. Not the amazing we're used to at DS. We received one bottle of water, and only one with no offer of more. The appetizer of mushroom toast was wonderful but served as a whole piece and not cut as a sharable appetizer. I sincerely hope we caught the staff on a bum night. -R. Conklin

Yelp
This rating is strictly for cocktails. We haven't tried their food yet, but this is an awesome place to grab drinks. They have a nice bar and tables on their outside patio. Lots of room inside too. They keep it open air to keep fresh air circulating. This location overlooks Big Spring park. We came for their eggnog cocktail on Christmas Eve. It was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. I also got their "currant situation" drink which was espresso, Godiva and currant liqueurs. Amazing!!! I will definitely be back and hope to try their tasty looking food next time.

Yelp
On a rare day off (12/23/2021) my favorite sister and I visited the new location of DS which is where the Irish restaurant was and then, I believe a meat and three. I'm delighted DS scored this larger location overlooking Big Spring Park with a nice patio space and a lovely view! And it's been a while, ya'll. This was only my second visit to DS and the last time I went was, I think, 2019. This December has been incredibly warm and we opted to eat outside. The staff, as before, are incredible - so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Very professional and attentive. I was craving iced tea and yes, the have it, but it is the bottled variety, the name escapes me because I never buy bottled tea. Anyway, I said, "Yuck" out loud in front of our server. #Tacky, I know - I couldn't help it. I went with a cup of joe (sister had water) which was really good and we had oysters and sister had a salad. Then I had the *best* happy hour white wine, for just $6 before we departed to visit Mom for an early Christmas. Sadly, the oysters disappointed us. They were small, which is fine - no issue there. We opted to get the sauces on the side, one was spicy hot, and the other was like a homemade tarter sauce, very mayo heavy. The oysters were cornmeal encrusted and served with, I believe, cornmeal encrusted red peppers. I asked for lemon wedges on the side because I love *just* fresh squeezed lemon on oysters and neither of the sauces appealed to my sister or me. The cornmeal breading was excessive, it overwhelmed the small oysters and was completely devoid of flavor. There wasn't even salt and pepper in the cornmeal breading. I am 100% certain if you are a sauce person, you would enjoy the oysters because the sauces, although not to my personal liking, were flavorful. I couldn't finish my oyster plate, my sister "soldiered through" her oyster plate and neither one of us complained, or asked for a different dish - it just didn't feel right to complain at Christmas time, although I'm sure DS would have happily replaced the dish with something else, had we brought it to their attention. Sister's salad was good, it was a radish and greens based salad with, I think, pecans. The new space is so nice, restrooms clean, staff efficient and friendly as always, wine selection appeared to be really vast although I didn't shop for wine, and I told sister we will come back and try other dishes in the future. Thanks Domain South!

Yelp
Wine, cheese, meats, nuts, eggs, and dessert! Party in my mouth! I am a foodie and loved every bite!

Yelp
Domaine South never disappoints with its French inspired charcuterie boards, locally sourced vegetables and delicious entrées! The service was great and the ambiance cosy and inviting. We always get a reservation when in town and appreciate the changing menu.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite Huntsville restaurants! You can build the most delicious boards with cheese, meat, nuts, and bread from Canadian bakin. The small plates and entrees are also delicious. Most recently I had sea bass topped with hollandaise and crab over jasmine rice and asparagus. It was fantastic. They have a great wine and cocktail menu. You can't go wrong here for a date night or girls night out.

Yelp
Andrea is a great server. She did an awesome job! Kyle is the general manager, he was very helpful and kind. Serenity did an awesome job with greeting and taking care of us. A very sweet young lady. Ketchup was awful:(. However, the steak, redfish and French Dip was excellent!! Desert was the cheese cake and crème burley. Both we're good but the plum sauce for the cheese cake was amazing! A little loud for our preference but overall a great place!!

Yelp
I had lunch one Saturday during Xmas shopping. After the rush rush rush of the day & my life, my visit enabled me to slow down. Every time I wanted to hurry up the experience, a voice said "stop." It's so rare that we're offered this luxury. The ambience is great. A quirky collection of art, mirrors, plants. Great light from overlooking Big Spring Park. Quiet at your table. But the energy & buzz of fellow customers as a pleasant background. And I found my go-to order right off the bat: the BLT:DS. But I've found my restorative spot & I'll be back to further explore the menu on future visits.

Yelp
My new favorite place, the food is magnificent, service superb, and the patio seating perfect. I ordered the Sourdough Grilled Cheese and the soup of the day, Beets Soup! Melted Haverti, Mozzarella and White Cheddar Cheese on a baked Canadian sourdough bread. My husband ordered Brigante with rosemary Sheep's milk, sopressata with grapes, crostini and almonds. For drinks I had Fentima's Pink Lemonade and my husband had a Negroni. Last but not least, dessert, Levander Honey Cranbule with quad espresso and Kaffeflatsch drip coffee (local coffee shop) My friends it's a Divine place to go and enjoy great food...ask for Jes, she was our server and she's knowledgeable, charming and beautiful

A J.

Yelp
went there for the first time with my family to celebrate a special occasion during the holidays. everything was fine at first... then our food took 1 hour and 30 minutes to come out. when it arrived, everything was cold except my bowl of soup. when it was kindly brought to the servers attention... the food took another 45 min to come out and the manager tried to blamed us. he was rude as can be. offered nothing while we waited for 2.5 hours for fresh, hot meals. ridiculous. my family and i have been to many many fine dining and michelin star restaurants across the country... not saying this place is anywhere near that standard, but for how much competition is im huntsville.. you would think management and ownership at the minimum would be kind. all he mentions scratch kitchen...yeah so scratch that cold entrees are served! lastly, posting about your customers on social media is low class. i am sure you would hate to have us all post the truth on social media. like how your rude manager who works for you...got fired from a local brewery, and served my daughter and her friends moldy charcuterie 3 times in a row. terrible service and manager huge rude attitude. time for new management and ownership.

Yelp
Totally cute location overlooking a park/stairwell/hood people watching in downtown Huntsville! I went with a group of 3 and we shared a charcuterie board and the chicken sandwich, burrata, and duck fat fries. Everything was amazing! The build your own board was amazing! We asked our server for his recommendation and we were not disappointed! The bread was so warm and fresh and the meats and cheeses with the other fillers were great and it was beautiful too! The chicken sandwich was not dry at all and those duck fat fries for sharing were perfect! The puff pastry burrata with apple was also a nice touch and added a little sweet and savory!

Carlos E.

Yelp
So disappointed! Our go to place failed us completely. Food, waitress and Harold the manager 0/5. Save your money. This place is not what it used to be.

Yelp
Tasting today was wonderful! Staff were so nice and accommodating to our party. Thank you so much! Wines, boards, service were excellent.

Yelp
I think it's a hidden gem but I'm not the only one obviously and you can have a great walk afterwards!

Mel M.

Yelp
We have never said "never mind don't bring us our food" and my husband had never said "I'm not going back" to a restaurant. But that's exactly what happened last night at DS. I have found it to be somewhat inconsistent in the past, but if you know what to order, it's usually good (though loud). After waiting an hour for our main course, we asked for our son's food in a to go bag, and the check. What a disappointment. I asked how food was once we got home and his response was "tough and not great." I guess we won't be back though we sure do enjoy the patio. If you go, Stick to charcuterie, green salad and chicken sandwich. The rest is risky.
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
First off.... It's really tough to find if you are not from Huntsville. But, once we found it the place has a very chill vibe..,, a bit loud though. The wine list is really good and the apps (small plates) are unique and tasty. We had the roasted oysters and goat cheese deviled eggs- both were tasty. Our waiter was great and very patient.... We had a senior citizen and an 8 year old . For dinner we had the 8 oz burger, lamb chops and aged ribeye. The burger was tasty. The ribeye was tough. The lamb chops were a bit fatty. I would NOT recommend this place for dinner..... but it's got a great wine list and apps for a fun hangout.

Channing L.

Yelp
Service was less than ideal. A different server brought our drink refills as we didn't see our server for 35 minutes. Food was average. I think the experience could have been much better. The place, music, wine was wonderful. The service was highly disappointing as well as the dishes we ordered. The vegetable platter was under seasoned, if there was any. My husband's still had the string on the meat. May try a second time. Unsure
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
Domaine South is tucked away within the building not so visible from the Courthouse and next to the park. The ambiance is ideal, the wine list professionally chosen and more than adequately stocked, the food is wonderfully cooked, and the staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. The staff understands not serving the main course while the appetizer is being consumed, and the crème brûlée was extraordinary! I will be back!
google avatar

Patrick R.

Yelp
Outstanding Restaurant with a great staff at the Bar...They had an amazing outside and inside bar area that was outstanding...We enjoyed a great meal and drinks at the Bar.

Michele D.

Yelp
Drinks were great, but I tried to have dinner last night. They were extremely busy and overwhelmed. The manager in the green shirt made us feel unwelcome and we were served burnt bread, so we went to Surin for entrees.

Jackson H.

Yelp
Terrible experience. I would not have fed my dog a single item that was served. Steak was way over cooked & the renamed A1 Steak Sauce was even worse. Waiter had a horrible attitude and even laughed after some questions were asked. If you are sat in the "private dining" area you might as well pack up and leave.
google avatar

William E.

Yelp
Over-priced and hugely over-rated. The waiter was a Gem but I had to practically beg for coffee refills. Table setter wasn't very intelligent judging from the politically charged shirt she was wearing and may actually be dangerous in my opinion. Very bad vibes. For $50.00 - $100.00 per person I was hoping for better. Good luck with this one...

Jeamie P.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambience were great the last two or three times we've been here this week. I called the manager tonight and told him our server,Kristine, had a shitty attitude after she messed up an order. I was told not to curse after I said shitty . Kristine had a piss poor attitude after she had messed up an order and we told her it was fine. She had told us she could take it to the back and scrape it off....wtf . It was fine until she left rolling her eyes and ignoring our table. This waitress has terrible drama queen tendencies.

Andrew W.

Yelp
Booty cheeks. Literally $100 for deli meat; or duck fat fried French fries lol. Save yourself money and go anywhere else
google avatar

brandon u.

Yelp
Food was great; however, the table for two was "sourced" from a 1970's trailer park (essentially a card table and a chair used for interrogation). The table would shutter at the slightest move. They looked cool. The ambiance was akin to a book club made up of ducks hopped up on Adderall. I'll go back but sit outside or at the bar next time.
google avatar

Becca A.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. I love both locations! Fun place for lunch or dinner and good place to take out of town guests to show off Huntsville and our downtown. The food is delicious and unique and the staff is always helpful with all my questions on the different charcuterie options. Highly recommend.

Melissa N.

Yelp
Never coming back here due to Awful service. I was recommended this place when I came into town. Although the Food and wine was excellent but the server, Daniel I believe, incredibly rude and unprofessional. Forgot my drink order twice, dropped the check rudely instead of handing it to me, insulted my company, I could hear his inappropriate language from the kitchen, extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Won't be back again.

Emily C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, especially if you sit outside. The strawberry cheese was delicious and the peanut butter chocolate tart was amazing but pricey. Great for splitting a charcuterie to try different things

James D.

Yelp
Wow! I could not recommend this place more! Absolutely awesome food between the charcuterie board, quail, and farmers market entrees. We finished it off with chocolate crème brûlée that was insanely good. We came here for our anniversary and it was 100% worth it. Very, very reasonably priced also!
google avatar

Deanna S.

Yelp
Literally a vibe! I loved the customer service , the wine & our board! Definitely coming back for the dinner menu!
