The Best Italian Restaurants in Bucks County | Eater Philly

"Domani Star in Doylestown offers a cozy dining experience on West State Street in the center of the borough. Enjoy starters of crispy polenta in a gorgonzola and rosemary cream sauce, crispy calamari, and eggplant rollatini before choosing your favorite entree from an impressive list such as linguine fra diavolo, rigatoni with vodka sauce and braised short rib, and grilled branzino. Don’t end your meal without ordering the tiramisu or featured dessert of the day." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

My gf and I ate at the “Jazz Room” next to Domani Star. The two restaurants are next to each other but, all the food is prepared at Domani’s. The servers need to constantly run back and forth. Dissipate it the service was fast and the food was excellent! My only issue was that the servers were wearing old sweatshirts and knit hats. Come on Domani Star, your staff is cold, buy them some warm, nice looking attire! Haha

If you're a local you know about the Star. If you're not from around Doylestown and are looking for a quality meal at a reasonable price the Domani Star is the place! The restaurant is small, only a handful of tables in the main section. There is the other side of the building that has more seating and is good for larger parties. There is plenty of street parking but be aware on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening parking is at a premium. Worst case you'll have to walk a few blocks. Be prepared, because the space is smaller when the place is busy it will be loud. The Star is a BYOB which I love. The menu isn't extensive but there are enough items to cover even the most discerning people. The staff are always friendly and weather dependent you can sit outside. On a warm evening town is bustling with people to watch. The food is Italian with a flair and has kept us coming back for 20 years plus! If you're around on a Sunday their brunch is amazing.

Quite good. Looking forward to trying again. Small BYOB restaurant in the borough of Doylestown. Reservations by phone only; closed Tuesdays. Seating can be tight. Dining room can get noisy. Bread is fresh, but not chewy or flavorful; soft crust. Served with good quality flavorful olive oil. Service was attentive and professional. Appetizer: Eggplant stuffed with ricotta. Very yum. Tomato sauce was sweet and flavorful. Salad: Mixed green salad with ricotta, pineapple, strawberries, shaved roasted almonds. Thoughtfully brought out in two portions, since we were sharing. Very good. Main courses were both good: Black bass special, with cherry tomatoes and basil, served with mashed potatoes. This was not a brilliant combination of flavors, rather each ingredient was separately wholesome and tasty. Linguine with shrimp, scallops, and red peppers, with a white wine sauce: All the flavors combined very well and formed a wonderful sauce for the linguine. Scallops had a bit of sand. Shrimp was served with tail and last shell segment attached. This is just annoying for anything other than fried shrimp or shrimp cocktail. (Am I the only one who feels this way…?) Deserts were the best I’ve had at any local Italian restaurant recently – Tuscan bread pudding, and a rich chocolate cake with fruit and homemade whipped cream.

We hosted a rehearsal dinner here. Amazing food, wonderful servers, it was a great night. I have to commend the staff, after we gave them the head count we had 4 more show up unexpectedly. The staff immediately set up seats and rolled with the unexpected extra guests.

Google
One of our favorite places in Doylestown to have a wonderful meal. Most recently we brought our friends from Arizona here to get some yummy Italian food, and they were I'm awe. We started with our favorite meatballs and introduced them to polenta (huge hits by the way). Our food was delicious and had the sweetest staff taking care of us the whole time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and cannot wait to come back soon!

Google
As someone with Italian heritage and a deep appreciation for authentic Italian cuisine, my recent experience at Domini Star was profoundly disappointing and, frankly, misrepresented what true Italian food should be. The meatballs were dry and tasteless. The salad special that my wife ordered consisted of crudely cut pieces of fruit atop wilted lettuce that was drowning in dressing. The Bolognese I ordered was acceptable but nothing special, certainly not worth the higher price point compared to similar dishes I've had elsewhere for half the cost. While the service was good and attentive, the overall culinary experience did not justify the price or the hype surrounding this Doylestown establishment. Ultimately, I believe your money would be better spent at another restaurant.

Google
We’ve been going to Domani Star for at least 20 years. The food has always been great. They’re incredibly consistent, and offer great and friendly service. The entire menu is fantastic, but my favorite is the Vitello alla vodka. I just can’t get enough of it. They have some great appetizers too. Two of our favorites are the polenta cake with rosemary cream and the crispy fried mozzarella with balsamic reduction. Whatever you choose, you can be sure you’ll be having a great meal. In a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The servers are super friendly, and the owner is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

Google
The family atmosphere, the homemade pasta, the delicious simplicity, great service - you don’t want to skip this BYOB. The menu features traditional, fresh classic dishes, nothing over the top, just really great food. The espresso was killer too.

Yelp
We ate here for our anniversary. This is one of our go to places for special occasions. The service is always great. The server paid attention to us without being overbearing. The only caveat is that the dining area is small and can get loud. The meal came quick. We ordered a Caprese Salad which was great. The mozzerella tasted good and the tomatoes were red and fresh. The balsamic they used was also top rate. They split the order in 2 and served on separate plates which wa since so we wife and I did not argue about who got more. For the main cause, I had Poppy's Chicken which is always good. I like food a little spicy and this meets that bill. The sausage on top of the chicken is actually a little hot (spicy). Sometimes dishes like this do not have as much topping as I like. in this case it was perfect. Finally for dessert, we had the Barry callout chocolate cake. People in the US do not realize how good of chocolate Callout makes but you can taste it in the cake. The final good word is that this is a BYOB establishment, and we like that too because wine is always so overpriced. The bottom line is that we will continue coming here for special occasions. The food and atmosphere is great.

Yelp
I heard the meatballs were magnificent! So I had to try it! Dinner is served family style so we got to share many different dishes ! It was my first time having polenta. It taste just like cheese in my opinion, which is a wonderful thing! We shared beef salad, which was so colorful and delicious ! All sorts of dark greens, nuts, crumble cheese and dried fruit! Very exciting and delicious and nourishing. I enjoy the calamari! Fresh and delicious! My party also ordered salmon which was cooked to perfection and so delicious and lovely and I feel so healthy!! For dessert, they brought out bread, pudding and tiramisu with cappuccino, and it was magnificent and delicious ! What a delightful evening it was! I would enjoy coming back here!!! Cute artwork on the wall! Some lovely pork shirts, as well as artistic renderings of maps of Doylestown! It's a beautiful old building and I enjoyed dining in this town !! Great service !!!

Yelp
This was my first time dining here but it had always looked busy so I was expecting a great experience. What I received was average. To start, the inside decor is not Italian by any stretch of the imagination. I could have been in any 1990's cafe, it was dated. The brunch which was an omelette was not seasoned, toast overcooked and cappuccino came out cold. Shame. Staff seemed stretched covering a few tables so I was constantly looking for the wait staff. Not sure if dinner service is better but it has put me off returning.

Yelp
Domani Star catered our holiday party in 2024 with a fabulous spread including the famous polenta (5 stars!), baby arugula salad with delicious dressing, fresh breads and butter, Hot eggplant parm (very good), Chicken picatta and more. Everything was truly excellent and I recommend them for a (pricey but worth it) party or private event. Can't wait to try their Sunday brunch.

Nancy G.

Yelp
My husband and I have dined here for many years; dinners, brunches, etc. and it's gone from being very very good to excellent on all counts. Brava!!

Teresa M.

Yelp
We had a fantastic meal with friends on a beautiful night outside on the sidewalk. The food was amazing, and the energy of the staff, including Morgan is relaxed and welcoming.

Joyce H.

Yelp
My lemon sole was delicious but my husband's halibut was overcooked and dry. The service was lovely but they definitely need sound panels as it was very noisy. It was hard to hear the person across the table.

Derek C.

Yelp
Food is always consistent every time I go. Have great specials 90% of the time. Only thing I would say is it gets pretty loud in the 8 o'clock hour, but other than that staff is extremely nice & food is delicious.
google avatar

Tara L.

Yelp
Domain Star has consistently incredible food! We got their calamari which are lightly fried in the best possible way. So crispy but not too much batter. This time I opted for branzino, which I never had there before, and it was perfect. It was a nice portion, grilled with capers, with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli. I asked for a side of the marinara we had with calamari because it was so delicious, and I dunked my broccoli in it. It was great! For dessert, we had tiramisu. I have had better in my life, but it was still good and served with fresh whipped cream and berries. Love going here to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Not thrilled. Didn't feel respected by hostess. We weren't greeted properly or politely. Were we an inconvenience? That's the impression we were given. Extremely disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend for his birthday. We like the place. I had one of the most tender calamari ever, exactly the way it should be. However, it could use more seasoning and not rely solely on the marina sauce. The atmosphere was cozy. The place is limited so I recommend making a reservation. We each had a pasta dish, which were good. He had the short rib and I the crab meat. His dish was so flavorful and delicious. Mine could use some more seasoning. We had the bread pudding for dessert, which was good but too sweet for me. The cappuccino was good as well. The service was okay.

Jake B.

Yelp
Very limited NA drink menu outside of water. Appetizers were decent but had to ask for ice separately from the water Service was great. Ambiance is homey if not a little dated Great and accessible location in downtown Doylestown Main courses were solid but not special Overall it was good but not the best Italian in town. But the prices were pretty decent for Doylestown and the portion sizes were solid.

Yelp
We had hoped so much for a superior Italian food experience. Table spacing and ambience where nice. Everything was clean, service was timely, and friendly until we questioned the meatballs.... Where it got weird was when the host said no bread is available on Sundays or Mondays... how do you function as an Italian restaurant without "fare la scarpetta" .... Salads where decent, Caesar was ok, not much to talk about but fresh, very little dressing, insulate de capra was delicious. The menu looked amazing, we ended up getting meatballs and their signature dish fazoletti with short ribs... when they came out they were beautifully presented. We were excited to try them. The meatballs ......they had a crust on the outside and the inside was like a pate', when we asked we were told that's the expected texture.... We missed that in the menu... but flavor wise they made us wonder if we caught Covid... and lost our ability to taste. Fazoletti was gorgeous to look at, but again... no flavor. No garlic, no salt, no herbs, almost tasted watery. Noodles where very well done if you could find them. Very few involved in the serving, almost like a stew with a couple noodles thrown in We wished this was better, but won't be back.

Rhonda L.

Yelp
We come here every Christmas Eve. I have been doing this for years. We have never been disappointed. Morgan and her team are wonderful. They go out of their way to make you feel special and try to accommodate which they have for me for years. The food is good. The people are good really special place.

Yelp
I am giving a 2 star review only because the service was very good. Servers tried hard to please but there is just no getting around bad food. To put it bluntly the food here is cafeteria level. Bland with no taste. How can you ruin pasta? They managed. We started with Bruschetta which was literally a piece of toasted Italian bread with cherry tomatoes chopped in half thrown on top. No seasoning and impossible to eat without spillage because the cherry tomatoes were not diced. Worse was the polpette, a classic dish I always order in Italian restaurants. They deep fried the meatballs and served them with a slice of lemon. No red sauce. The result was a mushy, acidy mess that I found inedible. I ate half of one and my husband finished the others only because the appetizer was priced at $18. Our entrees were no better. My husband ordered a penne pasta dish that was tasteless and my salmon portion was ridiculously small for $32. They threw some unseasoned broccoli on the side and did a banquet hall style "piped"mashed potatoes in a swirl which was also bland. It was like something from the 70's. It's a shame because they have a prime space on State Street but the food is just not up to par.

Yelp
I really love this place. We finally stopped in for the first time last year and it has become a go to eatery. This BYOB Italian restaurant is a quaint restaurant that serves delicious meals with a lively dining experience complimented with outstanding service. Once a month on Fridays they also host jazz musicians. My favorite menu item is the Gorgonzola polenta. It's is one of my favorite appetizers in the Philadelphia area. If you haven't tried this place, make it your next stop!
google avatar

Maggie D.

Yelp
We were so excited to finally eat eat here after reading the reviews and we were very disappointed. Maybe it was the staff working on Memorial Day? The salads were good but the entrees were tasteless. I hate too much salt in food but this was one rare meal where I wanted more seasoning. My meatballs were bland and honestly reminded me of soft dog food. It was really disappointing.
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
Food was not good. Def not Italian. I was surprised at how much I did not enjoy given its reputation . Skip this place

Lenny L.

Yelp
I have been here twice now. The first visit was exceptional. The second visit was even better. The meatball appetizer was one of the most amazing meatballs I have ever had. Their service is outstanding, the ambiance is quant and casual and the food is so darn good. You have to go and judge for yourself. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Make the effort to get to this place. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
My personal favorite in Doylestown. Everything I have had is delicious. My favorite is the Bronzino. It's simple and decadent. You can never go wrong here. I also love that they are a BYOB and the new outdoor seating is cool :-)

Mary K.

Yelp
Food at Domani Star is amazing. I have never been disappointed. Staff treats you like family and the ambiance is warm and inviting

John H.

Yelp
Truly a fantastic restaurant. BYOB. Recently expanded so less crowded - still, a bit noisy when completely full. Mixed and original menu, with excellent service. Seats by the windows or outside are premium. Today's Linguini Autonno was one of the best meals I've ever tasted - and we're very used to eating very well. Marvelous.

Kay R.

Yelp
One of my favorite Doylestown restaurants. Nice Italian menu deliciously prepared. Lots of variety. Only dinners these days. BYOB.

Pamela L.

Yelp
We got in on a busy night so that was a plus. Staff friendly. Food just OK for the cost,

Yelp
Love this place! We've been going here for about 10 years. The food doesn't disappoint. We started with fried calamari and one of the salad specials. The calamari was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The salad was a spring mix with candied pecans pieces of pineapple and goat cheese. The vinaigrette was light. Without fail, my husband gets the spaghetti and meatballs! The meatballs are breaded and fried and delicious. I usually get one of the specials. The Sea Bass was delicious although there was a piece of cartilage in it. It was served with mashed potatoes and veggies. Next time I'll request less butter sauce on the plate. The short rib and pasta is also delicious! Special requests are accommodated without a problem On Friday nights, there's a jazz duo that are amazing. The music creates a nice ambiance. The restaurant is located on the Main Street in 2 separate store fronts. So if you want to hear the jazz duo requests that room. It's BYOB. The staff happily accommodate with an ice bucket and glasses. The waitstaff is consistently good too.

Yelp
Great food and excellent staff! Very friendly and attentive. Love walking into town and eating here
google avatar

Yelp
Charming location with excellent service and great food. We had many different appetizers and all were very pleased. Went back a second time and sat outside. Entrees were really excellent- from veal to fish to eggplant. Great place!
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing small place. Decided to change our dinner reservation last minute from a pub to a nicer place. The restaurant was walking distance to out hotel and i decided to walk in to make the reservation and they were so accommodating. When we arrived they put us in a great table with amazing service and i must say that was one of my favorite meals ever. All i have to say is try the meatballs you won't be sorry
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Delicious, amazing service and comfortable atmosphere. The rosemary polenta was so savory that I felt the earth move. Chicken Francaise melted in my mouth. The server was so friendly that I wished she could join us. I'll be back. Tomorrow.
google avatar

Kristin B.

Yelp
Polenta appetizer was amazing. I had the Vitello Vodka, which was also quite good. My husband had the Linguine fra Diavolo, which he said was "okay" and not particularly spicy. As for the atmosphere--it was loud and and "cozy," and I was prepared for this beforehand. What I didn't realize was that some of the tables for two are literally right up against one another, making what was really a table for four, and we were sat at one of these. This was pretty awkward and made for a kind of uncomfortable experience. I did enjoy my meal, however, and would return, although I would definitely request a different seating arrangement when making a reservation.
google avatar

Incognito P.

Yelp
We decided to give this place a try on a Saturday with another couple for a dinner, the place is very small, they happened to have a large girls get together seated next to us, they were so loud that their conversation blanket the entire place, I literally couldn't hear my self think and was wishing I had my noise canceling headphones with me. The food was average, nothing to write home about, not sure when I'll be coming back next time
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
A gem in Doylestown. This BYOB provides cuisine that is on par with the finest center city Philadelphia restaurants. Recently, Sunday brunch was among the best in the entire area. Same can be said for dinner. In both situations, the care for each meal was exceptional. Whether going savory or sweet for brunch or seafood or pasta for dinner, your meal will be memorable. And, the homemade desserts were also off the chain and sharable in size.
google avatar

Yelp
This was one of the last restaurants in Doylestown I had on my list to visit and it was most certainly worth the wait! Truly fantastic, authentic Italian dishes prepared to perfection and served by a friendly and attentive staff. It's very cozy in there but it makes the atmosphere that much better, especially on a cold winter night. We started our feast with the Polenta e Gorgonzola and the Polpettine dei Bacaro di Venezia (Polenta and meatballs). Both were simply amazing and well prepared. The gorgonzola cheese sauce on the polenta was addictive to say the least. I was mopping it up with the bread, just awesome. Having the meatballs with a little twist of lemon and some parmesan vs marinara was a really nice (and new) treat. For the entrée I had the Ravioli con Manzo da Brasare which was cheese ravioli with slow cooked short rib, asparagus and sweet potato. An out of this world combination! My girl had the had one of the evenings specials which was ziti, asparagus and shrimp which smelled and tasted divine. Dessert was the blondie of which we devoured immediately. A really great experience and undoubtedly a hidden gem along West Street with all the surrounding businesses, but this small place packs a big punch!
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely on my "yasssss" list. I have been coming here for years and only just realized I never wrote a review. They have some classic items on their menu that never changes and its absolutely fine by me. Their meatballs are tender, crispy, flavorful and savory all at the same time. I ask for their sauce on the side and I could honestly eat their sauce by itself as a soup, it is that good. I always also get their polenta appetizer. Their cream sauce it comes with tastes like baby angels flying into my mouth. Their other classic and amazing dish is their fried ball of mozzarella. It comes with a balsamic reduction is gourmet and its all on top of a bed of arugula. It truly is mouth-watering. Their specials right now include a tomato, cauliflower soup and this crab, scallop, pea risotto. The risotto is by far my favorite dish to date. The ambiance is down to earth, low key and comfortable. The staff treats you like family and the street it is located on reminds me of a small town in some tv show sitcom. It is gorgeous and reminds me of a fake set somewhere, it is too perfect. The shops around it are adorable. I would travel there to just walk around if I had nothing better to do. All in all, go. If you have never been there, it is a must try!!! IF you have been there, go back asap!
google avatar

Yelp
It's been years since we've visited this small upscale  Italian BYOB but I'm very glad we went back. Siting in the street for covid compliance was a little weird but it's what they're doing in Doylestown. The food was amazing ..my wife had a grilled salad and I had an anti pasta plate that was amazing with fresh mozzarella and pickled pearl onions along with other meats and cheeses. For entrees we had  pasta autunno which included lots of scallops and crabmeat with roasted squash sundried tomatoes and perfect al dente pasta. My wife had the handkerchief pasta with braised short rib sauce. She thought it was also fantastic. The best part however was the amazing server, Lee who was welcoming, witty and attentive. His humor and conversational flow made the evening special. Go sit in the Street soon and ask for one of Lee's tables!

Yelp
We love Domani Star - it has a quaint atmosphere thats always buzzing with conversation and the polenta with gorgonzola cream sauce is addictive!

Yelp
This restaurant is adorable, for one thing. I felt like I was walking into someone's home - in a good way - when we came here this fall. Dad and I bought some wine down the street to enjoy with our dinner. Everything we ordered (salad, lasagna, a fish special, and a creme brulee) was to die for. I loved drawing on the tablecloth with the crayons at the table, and I was delighted to see previous guests' drawings pasted into collages on the bathroom walls. It's not the biggest or swankiest venue in town, but I believe the brightest gems dazzle you the most when they're modest.
google avatar

Allen H.

Yelp
Highly recommended so we tried it for our anniversary. When you first walk in, you feel like an intruder in someone's home -- that's because they cram 14 tables to seat 40 people which means it is so loud you are unable to have a simple conversation. Wait staff bumped my chair five times- apologized only once. Risotto bland and overcooked. Red Snapper ok. Bread served cold - a previous complaint. One and done - overpriced and TOO LOUD
google avatar

Tina F.

Yelp
Tried to get a reservation at two other places, with no luck. Chose this one recommended by the chef from the booked place. Not a good choice for five hungry people including two serious foodies. Like many others in town, this is byob. Fine. A bit confusing that we had a reservation here but were sent next door to the sister restaurant. I had the pasta special; linguine w/shrimp, spinach, steak, portabella mushrooms and what was called a light blush sauce w/Marsala. Not! The sauce was heavy red tomato that overwhelmed the other flavors. The bits of steak were over-cooked, tough and chewy. Nice shrimp. None of our party was very impressed with their dinner. But we were so hungry, we filled up on bread and our byob wine while waiting for our meals. Not really worth the money, but situated on a trendy block filled with other trendy restaurants. I'll try a different one next time.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
Fab place...fresh, well prepared fare, nice portions, price is right, byob, lovely unpretentious wait staff, cozy, clean, homey, think "functional family" romantic if need be and just plain easy. ps. fish was done well as was the pasta and the veggies
google avatar

Meredith W.

Yelp
This is such a special place. You'll notice you probably need a reservation, it's because all the locals fill it up every weekend. Every dish I've had has been outstanding. I love the energy of the place and the service is top notch. Each dish is crafted in the tiny kitchen in the back, if you sit at the "bar" (it's BYOB), you can watch them cook.

Robert C.

Yelp
Amazing take-out experience! We consider Domani Star a hidden gem in Doylestown and have never been disappointed with this BYOB. This past Sunday evening, our take-out order was graciously taken over the phone and delivered curbside immediately upon my arrival 30 min later. Our order consisting of polenta e gorgonzola, Fazzoletti con Carne and a pasta special with poached salmon and scallops was fresh, hot, and superbly delicious. The main portions were very generous and provided for lunch the next day. Please support this business!!
google avatar

Robert P.

Yelp
It's kind of like eating in a pop up restaurant in someone's house. I mostly go for lunch. The fish is always ok. My favorite is the spaghetti and meatballs. Ok , thanks I know , but.... they do these breaded fried Venetian style meatball that are really good. So it's worth going for that . It tends to be noisy. Lots of chatting people at lunch. Like I said it's a strange dining room. Service is very casual. So...
google avatar

Shay S.

Yelp
We were traveling through the area to see family. We stopped here on the recommendation of a family member. The restaurant is small but cute and intimate. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Being from out of state, the BYOB concept was strange but we knew about it beforehand and came prepared. The food was amazing and freshly prepared. Make sure you make a reservation or you may not be able to experience this small gem.

Yelp
It had been a while since we had been back to Domani Star, so when our first choice was closed we went and remembered why we liked it so well. We started with the fried calamari which was just right. Lightly battered, lightly fried and the marinara sauce was tasty and worked well. Both of us had veal for our entrees (three veal dishes on a limited menu seemed odd to us, but fortunately we both like it). He had the veal and vodka cream sauce. Veal was tender and the sauce was particularly good. I had the fried veal with spring greens and balsamic. The veal was perfect and the salad was PLENTIFUL but a bit overdressed and soggy. We shared the chocolate cake for dessert...it was more like a dark chocolate souffle...very flavorful and a perfect finish to our meal. Service was friendly, efficient and informal...just how we like it.

Yelp
4 star overall, 5 star for Doylestown This is definitely in the top 3 in Doylestown, and a wonderful, quaint, friendly, with a cosmopolitan flair, BYOB. This has been consistently a 4 star experience for many many years. The various salads for starters you cannot go wrong, very fresh, very crisp, very tasty, complex in ingredients, but simple in pleasure Entrees were exceptional. I ordered the Fazzoletti, little handkerchief pasta, with pieces of braised beef short ribs, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus, white wine, lemon & basil sauce, topped with arugula, toasted breadcrumbs and aged Asiago. Nothing specific was competing for attention in this dish, the multi- flavors celebrated together. The duck special for the evening was very good, I had at least a taste. ;-) The desert of a warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and a nice large dollop of whipped cream was good, of course it was, it was chocolate. On a busy, snowy Wednesday night, I felt right at home with the attentive service. The crowd was noisy but very fun and diverse. I shouldn't wait two years to go back again. If I lived in Doylestown this would be once a week venue for me.
google avatar

Yelp
We like to choose different restaurants in Doylestown to celebrate birthdays and Valentine's day, but once we found this place, we just keep going back! The best thing about this restaurant is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I love that it feels like you're getting a home cooked meal in someone's house. We've been here several times, and everything is delicious each time. And the portions are huge. You definitely get your money's worth! This has quickly become my favorite date spot in Doylestown. I would recommend Domani Star to anyone!

Yelp
I hate to be the nay-sayer here, and even checked to ensure I was reviewing the correct restaurant relative to these other positive reviews. I came for brunch, and maybe it was an off day, but it was perhaps my worst dining experience I've endured in the past couple years. They were crowded for the brunch scene, but the wait was only about 5 minutes for a table so I thought we'd give it a go. The maitre'd was very pleasant, but she and some of the staff were extremely casual. Think acid-washed jeans and footwear one step above crocs. I was slightly taken aback. We waited 15 minutes for our waitress to take our order. In the intervening time a host came by to take our drinks order. We had two coffees and a sparkling water. He brought the coffees sans teaspoons (we used our forks), and while doing us the favor of opening the sparkling water, he declined to pour! At this point, I was quite worried. When our food order arrived another 15-20 minutes later, I was so disappointed. My DP had oatmeal and eggs benedict. The oatmeal was inedible, watery instant Quaker Oats. It came with a side of about a cup of brown sugar. I don't know what they were thinking. They did not bring any toast with the eggs benedict, and when my DP requested, they finally brought over some toasts, but no butter! Ominously, there was a stray piece of bacon in the eggs benedict. I had a fruit cup and beets salad. The fruit cup was terrible. Clearly they cut the fruit on the same chop block they use for garlic and onions, since that was what "infused" the fruit. Some of the grapes were old, as well. The beets salad was inedible. The beets were canned, and desiccated looking. The greens part of the salad was okay, but there was an unevenly shaved gala apple on top, which was just weird. The dressing was incongruous. My advice, get the pasta instead.
