One of the best restaurants on the hill which is known for their Italian cuisine. You won’t be disappointed. White tablecloth, excellent service. The Rolls served hot in a basket with butter is easy to overindulge in. The calamari was cooked perfectly. If you like risotto, try the risotto with lobster. Veal Parmesan is excellent. If you’re lucky, you may hear Dominic sing at one of the tables for a birthday or anniversary! This is the real deal folks.

Absolutely phenomenal!!! The best service! The nicest people! The best Italian food! It’s just a beautiful establishment... I can’t say enough about the hospitality that we received! They run a tight ship! I super highly recommend! We can’t wait to go back!!! 💥❤️👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

The dinner here was absolutely spectacular! Presentation of tableware, meals & the service from the amazing servers, EXCELLENT! Every bit of our time this evening was excellent. Magical! I highly recommend this place for a romantic evening, family dinner or just to get an absolutely delicious meal. Love this place, truly.

My dad took my daughter on a grandpa-granddaughter date at Dominic's last night. I was a little worried because she is 7 and a very picky eater. Dominic's made her feel like a princess! Not only did they treat her with the same service as all the adults there, but they made her a special meal to fit her pallet and she loved it! They also went a step further and gave her a kitchen experience and let her help plate her dessert. If you are looking to take your kiddos on a fancy date to show them how special they are, Dominic's is a PERFECT place!!

Google
Call it ironic, went to Dominic's because of a negative one star review. It was really Kayla's review that sold us. Complaining about how it's a Sicilian restaurant and they don't have lasagna and other Americanized Italian, I knew this was the spot. While I do feel sorry to hear of her father's dietary restrictions and misunderstanding of what real Italian food is. Unlimited soup salad and bread sticks at Olive garden sounds like the "Italian" they were looking for. Back to the our experience, it was awesome we laughed with the staff and had a ball joking around. The snails with artichoke were special and perfectly savory. Arincini was slap ya momma good. I also got the pappardelle with the veal picatta, didn't want a full portion of pasta so they offered half, so I was happy. All I can say about the negative reviews is read the menu before you go this isn't Olive garden. Be prepared for true Italian dishes that you don't see every day and prepared with love and attention.

Absolutely fantastic! One of the best restaurants you will ever go to!

Google
10/10. They pre split the apps according to how many people are at the table - literally a step above. I love it. We really enjoyed our food and the wait staff were phenomenal. We are looking forward to coming back with family and friends

Wow wow wow!!! Dominic's surpassed all expectations!!! We came here for my 31st birthday with our 10 month old son. Every one from the server to the owner came to our table and our experience was world class. The chef even brought freshly made pasta to our baby, put cheese on it, cut it up for him, and watch with genuine joy as our baby enjoyed the special dish they brought him. That was the best birthday gift of the night. Their dedication to making us feel like rockstars made the night one we will never forget. Thank you Dominic's!!!

Yelp
My husband took me here for an early Valentines dinner. The vibe was definitely romantic and classy. Perfect for date night or other special occasions or just a random evening when you want to get fancy. Decor inside was beautiful with some gold accents on the wall, framed paintings and large vases. They topped it off with an extra touch by adding a small vase with a single red rose and baby's breath. Absolutely perfect for the occasion. We started with some arancini (rice balls with ground veal and marinara). They split one of them in half already before serving to us which was nice because we were able to eat from our own plates instead of a shared appetizer plate. They go the distance here! I also had the caprese salad and my husband had their Ceasar. We both enjoyed the salads. Mine came with anchovies and since my husband enjoys some with his Ceasar on occasion, I donated a couple to him. It gave my caprese a different flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. Next our main dish were delivered table side with the option of parmesan cheese. I had the veal piccata served with pasta. My husband had the salmon. Both our dishes were delicious. I couldn't finish me after the appetizer and salad but I saved a little room for dessert. We shared a tiramisu and I had a coffee. Our dinner experience at Dominic's was elegant, delicious, and something that left a positive impression on us. The owner even came out and checked on the guests. Now that is the kind of hospitality that you can no longer find in a lot of places. It was superb! P.S. Everything flowed so well that I forgot to take pictures after the appetizer and simply enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
Excited to be back in St. Louis and to join family for an incredible meal at Dominics. Since 1971, Dominic Galati's charming restaurant has dominated The Hill, when it comes to fine dining and all-around ambiance. When you enter the restaurant, you're immediately impressed by the elegant white tablecloths, the richly carved wood and beautiful paintings. Dominic's remains among the most elegant dining destinations in St. Louis. As I expected, the service was impeccable. Your water glass never goes empty. The servers exude polish and professionalism. The entire meal was perfectly paced. With five of us dining, we started with the Eggplant Parmigiana and Steak Alla Tartara. Each was outstanding, but the table favorite was the Eggplant. We loved its crispiness and the yummy marinara. The Tartare was large portion of incredible raw tenderloin. As this was our first time in the restaurant, I should have asked our server more questions about the size of the servings. My daughter and I both ordered the Risotto with Lobster, which was heavenly. However, the portion is so rich and large, it could easily be shared by two diners. We also ordered the Carpaccio, Cannelloni alla Romana and Tortellini alla Fiorentina. Incredible authentic Italian flavor and preparation. As one guest shared, the best pasta he's ever been served. Something unique at Dominic's is the rolling table with two burners to warm the plate of fresh pasta to the perfect temperature. It's at that point the server presents your entrée. Looking back, I wish we had ordered fewer pastas and tried the seafood, veal or lamb. We shared a delicious and affordable bottle of Monteti Toscana 2018. Since I hadn't savored this wine before, I was curious to learn more about its background. It is a blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. As we were pretty full from our meal, we ordered a single dessert with lots of spoons. The French Vanilla Ice Cream with Gold Brick Sauce. What makes this different is they apply the chocolate sauce and then freeze the entire serving. Super yummy. We had a wonderful time sharing amazing food and great conversation. What an evening!

Yelp
This was our first trip to Dominic's as we are fairly new to the area. We enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal from the arancini to the Dominic's salad, to the tortellini. The service was impeccable. Dominic himself made his way around to every table making sure every detail was perfect. Valet parking is a great addition since parking on The Hill is at a premium. Something I've never seen at a restaurant before - ice in drinks is constantly refilled. My water never got warm and neither did my iced tea! This is a great "special occasion" place. We will be back!

Yelp
Dominic's is exactly what I imagine when I think of a traditional old-school Hill restaurant. I appreciated the charm and professionalism of the service and really enjoyed everything I had. Tried: escargot, risotto with lobster Loved: The risotto was amazing - tons of lobster and very tasty. The service was fantastic. It felt like we had a team dedicated to serving our table. The old-school decor and vibe was very classic Italian. Liked: the escargot. I thought it was well presented. Street parking was easy. Disliked: there are really no windows so time flies when you're in the restaurant and it's so easy for hours to go by.

Yelp
Old school in the best way - white tablecloth, spectacular service and great food as well as interesting menu and well thought out wine list. This is a very special restaurant with prices to match but worth every dollar. Ambiance is comfortable, elegant and refreshingly quiet - you can relax, enjoy the perfectly paced courses and hear your companions. Servers don't hover but are always magically there if you need them !
google avatar

Yelp
The service is outstanding. Top shelf, friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Had the arancini and escargot de Bourgnone, for starters... outstanding. Entrees were seafood cannelloni, fried veal cutlet, tortellini and pappardelle de bolognese. Nice wine selection too. Plenty of street parking and valet parking. Highly recommend. A high end Hill staple.

Yelp
Headed to The Hill for some classic Italian, chose Dominic's...EXCELLENT CHOICE!! ECCELLENTE'!!! Rack of lamb Risotto with Lobster Eggplant app Eccellente' service! Top notch! Classic white table cloths (I think I heard some Sinatra over the speakers), tuxedo dressed wait staff...old school! Throw on the sport coat, get some wine, spend some time with friends and leave, knowing you will be back! Thanks Dominic's!!
google avatar

Yelp
Spent my 7 year anniversary here, and it was amazing. They went above and beyond to make it a memorable day. I'll be back!

Tom H.

Yelp
Smoked Salmon and Eggplant appetizer was excellent and linguini with clams was fabulous. pappardelle bolognese was perfect. Service was excellent as usual - thanks Joe!

Yelp
My first visit to St Louis need a visit to their Little Italy. The internet informed me I needed to try Dominic's. So, I made a rezy and off we went. The place is nicely decorated. White table clothes, nice murals on the wall, the vibe is authentic Italian. The service was on point. We had 3 people taking care of everything we needed. The eggplant parmigiana was awesome. Crispy and flavorful. The spinach salad had nice flavors and complimented by an orange was nice. The mains were ok. I hadnt had veal in a while. The sauce was delicious and the veal was cooked just right. The lobster risotto was just ok. I think the risotto was a little undercooked, but maybe that's the way it comes. The cocktails were well balanced. Our dinner was disturbed by an extremely intoxicated lady loudly complaining about her husband, however the staff was very gracious, apologizing numerous times and offering to move us. They handle it very nicely. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great service. And the overall vibe and setting of the restaurant were extremely pleasant. Highly recommend and make sure to try to godfather cocktail or their aged drinks. They're exquisite.

Yelp
We all had high hopes for the food and service but were all very disappointed. The moment we walked in there were comments being made and were ignored for practically the entire evening probably because we are younger. Also snarky looks at our table regardless of the fact we were respectful and quiet. It took an hour to get our food only after we asked the status of the meal. We have all been raised to tip well and were planning on doing so. The only attentive staff was the man bring bread and water to our tables. Additionally the food is not worth the money. Paying 30 dollars for a plate of pasta that is sub par at most is ridiculous. I am very disappointed in this restaurant and staff. Don't waste your time.
google avatar

Katelin M.

Yelp
This is one of the classic institutions on the hill. Anyone who knows Italian food in stl knows about Dominic's. Upscale excellent foot in a traditional dining room. Staff are gracious and doting. The food was exquisite. We tried the calamari and the snails this time as appetizers. They were excellent. I enjoyed the lobster risotto. They are known for their veal, and you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
The food here is excellent, very fresh old school Italian, and I liked the Frank Sinatra music in the background. Wife loved her lobster risotto, and my pasta with prosciutto and cream sauce was delicious. The salads were also crisp and fresh, and good desserts. The smoke salmon appetizer was great, very fresh and the escargot was nice with the buttery garlic sauce. The warm bread rolls and butter, very nice. The ambiance is semi-formal white table cloth, probably best to wear a collared shirt or coat and tie. They did make a few mistakes. The waiter was competent and polite but the attitude of the staff was a bit stiff, almost like a midwestern reserve but to a fault. Perhaps it's because the food is so good they don't think they need to greet you warmly or thank you for stopping in. Also I ordered their most expensive cognac for dessert and they forgot to bring it out. So even though the service is good it's not 5 star level.

Yelp
Ate here before a show at The Fox. Got seated promptly, water glasses were filled quickly. I had the Veal Picatta; thinly sliced veal cutlets with button mushrooms and capers in a white wine sauce. It was awesome, the veal was fork tender, served on the side were roasted vegetables. My friend had a caesar salad and an appetizer of eggplant parmesean. She said both were really good. Bread basket was replenished throughout the meal. I also had a glass of iced tea, which was perfect. Will definitely return and recommend.

Addi W.

Yelp
The moment we walked in comments were made and dirty looks were given by servers. After we were sat, we waited 15 minutes before they remembered to bring us menus. After we ordered our server never revisited our table but checked in on all the tables around us. We waited an hour before I had to go ask the host if our food was going to come out anytime soon. They brought out the food 5 minutes after that and did not do the same ritual of cooking it in-front of us like every other table even though we had ordered the same things. The food was terrible and very watery, my shrimp risotto still had shrimp shells in it and was cold. The entire time we had been seated staff gave us snarky looks and made rude comments. Once we asked for our check the server did not offer to split it nor stayed long enough for us to ask. The restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night and this definitely explained it. I do not recommend coming here.

Yelp
Took my husband to Dominic's on The Hill for an early birthday dinner tonight. The food was incredible. We started off with the snails and artichoke. Delicious! Make sure you've got bread for soaking up every bit of this dish. I had the veal saltimbocca and my husband had the seafood cannelloni that was on special. Both were excellent, and we somehow managed to squeeze in dessert (Jackie's cake and raspberry sorbet) at the end. The service staff was so incredibly attentive and gracious, and the visits to the table by Dominic were so charming. It was an incredible dining experience and the warm ambiance is perfect for any special occasion, whether you're celebrating or just want a fancy date night. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience. Will definitely return if we're ever in the area. Thank you Dominic and staff for providing us such an enjoyable evening.

Yelp
Ambiance is very good. Food was good but not outstanding or comparable to other Italian restaurants in St Louis. Salad was excellent. Veal was tough and bland. The Marsala sauce was very good. The side pasta was dry with little taste. The service was spotty. Our main server disappeared for extended periods several times. He walked near us several times with his head down so we couldn't get his attention. His assistant was new and appeared only twice. While one of us was still eating, an assistant started removing others plates without asking. The format of the bill was incomprehensible. You couldn't differentiate the cost of the food from the tax. I will return to the Trattoria but not the Hill.
google avatar

Wendy T.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, friendly servers. Apps (smoked salmon) and bread were delish. Entrees were bland, especially the lobster risotto. No need to return since there are so many other places.

Michael G.

Yelp
Just a great evening with superb food and service. The Osso Bucco was great and the other entrees excellent. This restaurant is a must when in St Louis. The Italian restaurants in Las Vegas could learn from Dominic's.
google avatar

Fran B.

Yelp
After experiencing two years of lockdowns and not socializing it sure feels good to dine at a restaurant that still believes in quality food and great service. Look at the table setting? You want to get dressed up for dinner like we did back in the day. Eating out was a special occasion. Dominic stopped by our table and that just warmed my heart. I love it when the owners interact with their guests. The food was delicious.
google avatar

Dainielle F.

Yelp
From the impeccable service to the food, there is nothing that won't disappoint at this authentic italian restaurant. We had the pappa bolognese and the lobster ravioli, along with the smoked salmon appetizer and every single dish was packed full of flavor. Our water glasses were never empty and the wine list was extensive. Highly recommend for a date night or nice dinner with friends!

Suzan A.

Yelp
I had my birthday dinner at Dominic's and had a lovely time. I had a party of about 13 people and the staff were all very accommodating, patient, and friendly. The food was delicious and the inside was gorgeous!
google avatar

Audrey B.

Yelp
Lovely place. Upscale atmosphere - white tablecloths, dim lighting, dressed up staff. Staff was attentive and we even got a visit from Dominic himself. So sweet. Food was very good!! I was happy with my vegetarian entree. Dessert was outstanding, definitely get Jackie's cake!!!! Tons of wine options and good cocktails. My amaretto sour was delicious, tasted like a creamsicle.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
Went for dinner and there was a giant hunk of mold or something in our water, which was also spilled on us. The waitstaff and management acted like we were not welcome. Food was decent but since we started out on the wrong foot they treated us with contempt the rest of the meal (We were dressed nice and were very cordial). Felt like a total waste of money. What a disappointment.
google avatar

Larry G.

Yelp
We go to Dominic's for the old-world charm of the formal dining experience and the excellent Italian food. Our latest visit in 2024 did not disappoint. A party of four had appetizers, salads, cannelloni, salmon and veal entrees. Everyone praised their meals. I thought mine was memorable. The staff who waited on us were friendly and attentive. We even enjoyed some banter before the evening was over, adding to a special evening. I thought the experience was worth the price and encourage everyone who wants a traditional Italian dining experience to dress up and go to Dominic's!
google avatar

Brent R.

Yelp
Impeccable service and terrific food. Easily the best restaurant on the hill. Top 5 restaurant in St. Louis

Mark G.

Yelp
Went to Dominic's to celebrate a birthday, the ambience was very classy and nice, as soon as we sat down we were given water, bread, and butter, throughout the rest of the evening the service was very efficient and outstanding. FOOD WAS AMAZING! I got the Rack of Lamb cooked medium rare and it was perfect! For desert I got the Tiramisu which was also great. I can't wait to go back!

Lia L.

Yelp
Went in with some friends after the 420 festival and it was kind of scary. There were 8 servers surrounding the room in very fancy uniforms and they were HIGHLY attentive. The calamari was rubbery and overcooked but the Caesar salad was delicious. We decided to get our main dishes to go. The chicken (Milenese and Parmesan) was very mediocre, as well as the veal medera. There was a baby crying but they made me take off my hat. I had no problem with the hat being taken off, as I respect tradition, but to allow a screaming crying baby defeats the etiquette.

Yelp
I have to give Dominic's Restaurant five stars. I wavered between four and five because of a slip up in service, but I have to go with five because of the food alone. Dominic's is old school although they have relaxed their dress code. They use to require men to wear a jacket and if you didn't have one, they had one in the back that they could give you. Now, men have to wear long pants (although I did see one man in shorts). You will have three people waiting on you - a captain, a server and one other person whose title I forgot. Most of the meals are prepared tableside. We each started with our own appetizer but in the end we shared them. He chose the oysters Rockefeller and I went with the carpaccio. The slip up in service was that my carpaccio came out five minutes before his oysters. These appetizers were outstanding and it was hard to pick one that was better than the other. Dinner was dover sole almondine for me and the tenderloin Rossini and lobster alla gusta for him. (in looking around, I noticed a lot of people ordered this dish.) My dover sole was prepared (and deboned) tableside. He said his dish was delicious and my dover sole was melt in your mouth. Dessert? Of course, you don't go to Dominic's and not get a dessert. We chose the tiramisu which was the best tiramisu that I have had. Would I come back here? Of course I would. Dominic's has a special place in my heart since we first came here 42 years ago for our first anniversary. They have since closed for the week of our anniversary so we have to go a different time. And that's the way it is.

Christa M.

Yelp
thought this was gonna be a steak house LOL twas not. lights kept flickering. drinks were fine. decor was outdated. lobster was chewy. chicken Marsala came with peppers on it (??) the personal butter pads were odd too. wouldn't go back but glad I went cause my table giggled a lot.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday afternoon, we made the reservation since we had this place on our Yelp list and we were not expecting it to be so upscale, it was super nice. The service was good, the food took a good amount of time to come, the same with the dessert but anyways we were not in a hurry or anything. The food was super good, the Oysters Rockefeller and Mussels were tasty, the marinara sauce the mussels came with, was really good. My entre was Linguini con Pesce and it was delicious!! The pasta cooked to perfection, and good amount of assorted seafood! And the wine sauce was light and tasty! (Maybe a little bit less sauce would be good but that's just preference) Desserts: solid dessert game! The sorbet and the cannoli were super good! Definitely coming back!
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
I had heard a lot about this place so gave it a try. Could not have been happier! Great food, ambiance, and Dominic could not have been nicer. The fried calamari was amazing! I had the Veal Piccatta amd my wife had the Shrimp Scampi! For me, it is the best restaurant on the Hill!

Sandra G.

Yelp
Fabulous restaurant: welcoming and lovely staff, great food and wonderful service. With elegant surroundings, I always feel special when dining here. Food is consistently delicious(my personal favourites are the antipasti appetizer, eggplant parmigiana and shrimp scampi ) Dominic, the Galati family and their restaurant are true gems in the Hill neighbourhood!!
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
It was our first time here but we were saving it for a special occasion. The service was excellent and the ambiance was what you would expect in an elegant restaurant. I had the Papperdelle alla Bolognese and my wife had the Osso Buco with Saffron Risotto. We shared and both were perfect! For dessert we enjoyed the Dominic's special cake which is a can't miss item, especially accompanied by one of their port wine selections. D's is one of the pricier options on the Hill but a great value and perfect for any special occasion.

Ted G.

Yelp
The best Italian in clayton, consistently high quality food. The service is always great and I always have a great meal. Not as formal feeling as the restaurant on the hill but the food is just as good.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
I came back to Dominic's because there was a special $25 fixed price menu. I read over the menu and decided I was going to go to the main menu. Looking over the menu two items caught my eye. Veal Chop and the Osso Bucco. I asked our server a simple question. Veal chop or Osso Bucco? Without any hesitation he said Osso Bucco. Well that settled the entre now I have to figure out something for a starter. I chose the snails. The snails had a combination of artichoke and small slices of parmesan cheese a true delight. The Osso Bucco was a veal shank served with risotto. If you happen to see my plate it is the one with the bone and nothing else left on the plate. It is the best Osso Bucco I have ever had and probably will be the best I will ever have. Mrs. K. chose their NY strip steak with a mushroom and red wine reduction. I had a taste and it was awesome. Dominic's is rated one of the best eateries in the city and country. Try it you will like it.

Yelp
First time for dinner on a Thursday night with my daughter and it's a beautiful restaurant. It's a great date place and the "fanciest" feeling restaurant in town, with gorgeous mirrors, paintings and statues throughout. The lighting is a little darker inside than I probably would like; sort of like an Italian version of Morton's Steakhouse (at least the Morton's I have been to). But your eyes adjust quickly and it adds to the special ambiance. The food is 1st class, too. I had the linguine with clam sauce (1/2 portion) and the veal (scaloppini) saltimbocca as my entree, which came with a side of freshly sautéed vegetables. I recommend both dishes. My date had cheese raviolis and loved them. We split a piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert and it was good as well. My only advice is ask for the prices of any specials before you order them. I was caught off guard when we received the bill and the six cheese raviolis were $22. They were good, but we would have ordered something else had we known. Overall, I would definitely come back. We have the Clayton location a couple of times and really like them both. I would put their food up against any Italian restaurant in St. Louis.

Matt S.

Yelp
Great food, but terrible experience. The food was very good, however, the head server was one of the most pretentious people I have ever come across, and I work in the medical field! Very pompous! He was so proud of himself, and the "rules "of the establishment that we could not even get plain pasta for our children until we ordered everything for the table and then waited an hour for plain noodles. Unfortunate that he was more interested in himself and rules than us having a good experience, I have eaten at restaurants across the world, and he was definitely one of the worst servers I've ever come across. Would never come back based on the experience, shame, because the food was actually very good

Yelp
Top shelf dining all the way. Dominic's is such a nice place on the inside. The service was excellent. I love a place that doesn't rush you through your meal hoping to turn the table. We got the eggplant parmesan appetizer and it was very tasty. For the main course I got Lobster and tenderloin and I could cut my steak with a butter knife. The scallop dish was also cooked to perfection. Finished up with a cannoli which is one of my favorites and Dominic's has a great one. Very impressed by how nice our dinner was here. We will return.

Brooke M.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience with the manager Joe at Dominic's. My boyfriend and I came in for a special occasion and my sister called and ordered surprise champagne to be delivered to our table. Joe delivered the champagne to the wrong table, so we didn't receive it. My sister called to resolve the issue and was rudely dismissed and told she was trying to "scam the restaurant" and was refused a refund. We then called to clarify to Joe that we did not receive the champagne and Joe told us he was not going to "eat the cost"' and hung up on us. This is very disappointing as we've been long time loyal customers, even renting event space for special family occasions over the years. Our families will not be returning to Dominic's.

Judith J.

Yelp
Once again my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful Anniversary celebration at Dominic's on the Hill. The veal Marsala was perfect for me, my husband enjoyed a fillet plus lobster. Calamari was sooo good as well as the Dominic's salad. We have chosen dining here to celebrate many times over our 42 year history. Chocolate mouse and Jackie's cake were the perfect finish.
google avatar

Sarah V.

Yelp
The food at Dominic's was incredibly filling, authentic italian cuisine. The beef and veal were cooked just right and the tiramisu dessert was light and airy enough to still be enjoyed as a shared table dessert after eating such a hearty meal. The atmosphere was nice for bringing together visiting family and friends - quiet enough to hear each other but not too quiet to feel uncomfortable socializing. The four star rating is only because, even with a reservation, it took a bit to be seated. However, there was a bar area where we were able to sip on drinks while we waited and there was a staff member that was kind enough to take our coats to coat check for us as we waited! During dinner, the staff was extremely attentive to us in terms of refilling water and clearing plates, which was nice! Overall, I'd say we had a very nice experience at Dominic's and I would definitely visit again in the future. side note: for people who struggle with vision in low-light settings, it is pretty dark in the restaraunt - it was not necessarily an issue for me, but another family member struggled a bit to read the menu with the lighting provided.

Lucky E.

Yelp
We've been going to Dominic's once or twice a year for almost 20 years and have never had a bad meal or service! Dominic and his team know how to properly operate a fine dining establishment, and if you're lucky, Dominic will sing to you in Italian. This place deserves many superlatives! This isn't the kind of place for a man to wear shorts in any season, so please dress properly.

Yelp
First time there --the food and the service was great. They mentioned an outdoor seating area that was coming soon for appetizers and drinks - we look forward to enjoying that this summer. 5 different food choices and everyone was happy. Will definitely return!

Very disappointing. This restaurant is definitely coasting on past reputation. I had prosciutto tortellini with peas in a cream sauce. When I tasted the tortellini it didn't taste good - nothing like prosciutto - so I called our server over. She went to check and said that the tortellini was stuffed with chicken and prosciutto. I didn't taste any prosciutto and the menu said nothing about chicken. And the peas tasted and looked like peas from a can. Gross. The bread, usually a highlight at a fine Italian restaurant, was cold and tasteless. My husband had the 8oz filet special, which cost about $57 and it too was so-so. Our total bill was way to high for such a poor meal. We should have gone to our go-to for a good Italian meal in St. Louis, which is Charlie Gitto's.

Yelp
Old school fine dining at it's best. During covid reopening the place was empty but the food was stellar. I hope they survive this slowdown because it's a St. Louis gem. Veal is to die for

Yelp
My last experience at Dominic's will be my last. St. Louis has far too excellent of a food scene to keep coming back to this place. I'm sure at some point this place was all that- fine dining and fine service, but they haven't kept up with their reputation. The second to the last time I came here, I was with 5 others in my family. One of the people i was with was wearing a hat and was asked to remove it in the dining room in a very condescending way-okay, no problem, except for that when we got into the dining room there were people with very casual dress on (including sports gear and blue jeans) that you would see in a pub. Once sat, it took forever for our server to come to our table for anything although he was attentive to all of the tables around us. We ended up asking another server there for things we needed. I felt that the entire staff treated our table like we were too low to be there because were not regulars of The Hill/familiar with someone on the staff there. I was hoping that the food would have made up for the lack of service but the food was subpar at best. The salad was drowned in dressing, the chicken dry, and the veal tough. I figured maybe they were having a busy day the last time I went, so I came here this past week for dinner to give it another chance. The server was MIA during and after my whole meat yet again and my food was bland and comparable to Olive Garden, literally. I have worked in the service industry (fine dining) my entire life so I am usually super understanding of these things but I felt like we were treated so condescendingly the first time and the service and food was bad enough both times to actually leave a review. There are literally so many other options for great Italian food on The Hill, pick somewhere else.

Yelp
If i could give 0 stars I would, do not waste your time, energy, or money, going to this establishment. We walked in and we're immediately looked at like we were not wanted and disgusted that we were there. We had a reservation and one person in our party was wearing ripped jeans that were the furthest thing from not modest, and they said they might not be able to fit us in (the restaurant was empty) and they made her sit in the corner of a restaurant and said she can't be seen in this restaurant in those jeans, They we're beyond disrespectful, and unprofessional. The money you are spending there to be treated horrible is not worth it. Take a drive down the road and go somewhere you will be treated with respect. Absolutely never go to this restaurant.
