"The city’s first vegan restaurant, Dom’s, has an appetizing look at plant-based cuisine. What began as an Italian pizzeria named Mozzarella Fellas is now open for online ordering and pick-up at its downtown location. All types of omnivores can order Buffalo cauliflower with pickled onions and peppers or pimento cheese and chili fries that continuously impress. Italian classics like the kale Caesar salad and the vegan chicken parm sandwich with Calabrian chili-spiked marinara go back to the restaurant’s cheesy roots." - Nikki Miller-Ka

Extremely good vegan food. Absolutely delicious. Worth going out of your way for. When I showed up, it was extremely understaffed, with only one person onsite doing everything. So, at least in early April of '23, don't be shy about seating yourself and looking up the menu online while you wait if the only hint of life seems to be in the kitchen. (It was odd, but worked out just fine for me!) The cauliflower bites (so crispy!) and the mac & cheese were the stars of the show for me, but everything was excellent.

Google
Dom's!! Our experience was great. This is a veagan restaurant, but even if you're not a veagan, you should try it!! Worth ever penny!! Brandon was very knowledgeable about the menu. Trust him!! I ordered 2 triple O BBQ burgers with Mac and cheese and the P.I.M.C fries. 👌 WOW!! MIND BLOWING!! They only take a card, and you eat off to go plates, but that was no problem 😊 can’t wait to eat here again!

Was recently in Winston Salem on business and looking for a vegetarian restaurant and came across Doms on a Google search. On arrival the place was empty at 5:30 pm so had no issues getting a seat. There were no menus available and was advised to order online as a take out order. First thing I noticed was the menu was extremely limited. I decided on the fried cauliflower in Korean BBQ sauce and will say it was excellent. Also order a kale Cesar salad that was at best okay. It was simply kale in a house dressing...nothing more. I feel as though this place could be great once they discover their identity but not sure they will survive long enough to do so.

Update #4: We've been trying at least one new thing everytime we order. Added to our list of favorites: BBQ Chicken Flat Bread. This is rich and decadent folks. We opted to share plates for this one. Update #3: We we're ecstatic when Dom's announced they were back open for takeout. Ordering online is super easy. In the beginning the menu was a bit limited, but now there is a good variety of items. Fries are always a must for us. We also enjoy the Chik'n Parm Sandwich, Triple O BBQ Burger, and Korean BBQ Chik'n Sandwich. Cauliflower bites are also yum, with the Korean BBQ being our fav out of the three options. Update #2: visited Dom's on their closing night. Bitter sweet as the menu was extremely limited but tasty as always. Disappointed this phenomenal restaurant isn't able to keep it's doors open; hoping to be able to support them in the future in whatever capacity they can make it work. Update #1: the menu has changed a bit since my first review, but the quality and portion sizes have not! Love that the menu feels in season / current / fresh. Having a hard time deciding? Don't be afraid to ask your server! They gave great recommendations. Original Post: AMAZING! Portion sizes are generous. Staff was great. Food was delicious. Ordered 4 appetizers for 2 people and it feed us both for 3+ days. All plant-based. A vegetarian / vegan's dream. Def recommend! Tip: make reservations. Trust me. Even if you do it same day, 15 minutes before. They can and have turned away patrons because they didn't have the space to accommodate.

Google
Beautiful interior and fantastic food. We ordered the Korean bbq cauliflower, a burger, and chicken parm sandwich on our way through town. The cauliflower wings were some of the best I’ve ever had. Both sandwiches were also great. Mac and cheese side was amazing! Sadly didn’t get to try the fries, but hopefully next time! Staff was super nice and helpful. Will definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Absolutely amazing, the food was incredible so flavorful and savory. Every bite was lovely. We got two appetizers the Korean bbq and Mac and cheese which were the best thing we ever have had. Seriously don’t sleep on this place. Amazing servers and atmosphere. Will be coming here more!!

Google
What a great find. Authentic NY style pizza and Very Vegan Friendly. Everyone enjoyed the Fried Cauliflower appetizer, we had Nashville style. While not exactly a Nashville Hot Sauce the sweetness and background heat made them dissapear nonetheless. Service was attentive and kind. The beers where cold and the place was clean. Prices were reasonable and depending on your mood ranged from affordable to date night impress mode. Although not locals - we will be back as soon as we can. Cheers.

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. The food was exceptional, the serving sizes were plentiful, and the staff were attentive and kind. The barbecue cauliflower appetizer was top-notch. I got Dom's sandwich with their house burger, and it was incredible. As a vegan, l it's hard to find places where you can eat out and enjoy. Everything was flavored exceptionally well. Had the coconut pie for dessert, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend this place, and hope to make it back soon.

Yelp
We stopped for a late dinner for a party of five. We were seated immediately and treated well. Service is top notch at Dom's. I ordered the chik'n parm sandwich that came with fries. The sandwich was good as it came topped with marinara and melted vegan mozzarella. It was my first time trying vegan mozzarella and it was really good. The fries, while not house cut, were well seasoned and tasted good too. Others in our party had pasta dishes and said they loved it as well.

Yelp
I finally got to eat at @domsws with my chica who was the first person to bring me their amazing Korean Cauliflower as take out. So @ladyknyce and I had a Girl Boo night. I had a Purple 75 and of course the Korean BBQ Cauliflower. The Mac N cheese was so good you couldn't tell it was vegan Service...... Ehhhh. I think everyone was new.... Other than that, Food on point, drinks were great. Would definitely recommend to any vegan or vegetarian. Aesthetic was very nice. Vibe was a Lil anxious by staff.. dinnerware was also very nice. Presentation of food

Yelp
Came here for the first time Saturday night after having been on my list for a while. It lived up to expectations! We got there a little before 6 on a Saturday and there was only 1 other table there, which made us a little nervous (why aren't people eating here??) but by the end of our meal, the place was full with a waiting list. Guess not everyone has a 70-year old dinner schedule, huh? We ordered the Korean BBQ Cauliflower app after it came highly recommended by our server, and it was excellent. Even my wife, who doesn't usually go for BBQ dishes, thought it was delicious. I ordered the America Mary Burger and my wife got the Black Lentil Pumpkin Loaf. My burger was perfect in every way (need proof? I meant to take a picture but was halfway done scarfing it down before I remembered). The loaf was a little on the dry side but good nonetheless. Not many of the staff wore masks, which kind of surprised us since Dom's has a veggie/hippie kind of vibe. I also wish they would offer more salad choices. Being a "plant based" restaurant, it was surprising that there was only one salad - a generic Kale Caesar salad. What about butternut squash or black bean toppings to make more "dinner salad" options? Just a thought. Overall, an excellent meal and we are going back to try more!

Yelp
The BBQ burger is best vegan burger I've ever had! I've been vegetarian for 16 years now so that's saying something. Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

Yelp
So glad to have Dom's close to me and was super excited to take a friend who is vegan here. I am not vegan at all and enjoyed so much of the items we had. We couldn't decide on what to get especially after the BBQ was sold out so we did a variety of appetizers. The crab cake was my least favorite only because I'm not a fan of mushrooms. The remoulade sauce served with them did add the extra flavor I needed to enjoy them some. lol he spicy mac and cheese was amazing and had us wondering what type of vegan cheese they used because it was rich, creamy, and flavorful. The Buffalo cauliflower was also good and the portion was big. But what we really loved was the nachos! So many great and flavorful toppings. I don't think there were any plain chips because toppings were distributed throughout. Our excitement to go to Dom's may have made our eyes to big so even with the two of us being excited and hungry we couldn't even finish one item! Everything including the service was great so my non vegan self can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The food is always so flavorful and plating is spot on. I haven't tried everything yet but the dishes I have tried have been excellent and I'd order them again. The restaurant itself is beautiful looking and so nicely designed inside. I'm glad they moved to the downtown area as it is easier to visit and dine there more now. The waitress we had was so attentive even when only her and three others were serving. You could tell she was a little overwhelmed but she still did a great job.

Yelp
This is one of those places that makes you want to give 6/5 stars just so that everyone knows it's truly a step above the rest. This is the best food we've had in North Carolina so far. Food lovers- this is a must try, if only for the small plates and cocktails! We had the buffalo cauliflower and it was perfection. Crispy golden with the perfect amount of sauce. Better than any we've had, including places in florida. We also enjoyed the kale salad, oyster polenta, and bucatini. The bucatini tasted exactly like you'd expect from your regular Italian restaurant. The polenta was unique and filled with different textures and the kale salad was delicious. I'd definitely go back just for the cauliflower but I'd also have to have the polenta again. Wait staff was amazing and friendly and the aesthetic is beautiful. They do the details just right.

Yelp
This was my first experience with an entirely plant-based/vegan restaurant. My friend, who is vegan, wanted to go here for his birthday. I am a meat eater but also love most food so while unsure what to expect exactly, I was excited to try something I hadn't before. This restaurant is currently take-out only during COVID to help keep their employees safe. We ordered online and paid advance. There was a bit of a line to pick up, but I take that as a good sign that the food would be good. My favorite thing we got was the Walk It Back Nachos (corn tortilla chips mozzarella/ walnut + chickpea chorizo queso/ hot peppers/ avocado/radish/black beans/tomato/pickled onion). It was a crazy amount of nachos. There was a bit too many hot peppers for some of us, but and I liked the flavor combinations. While of course it didn't taste like traditional chorizo, nor should it, the chickpea chorizo interpretation was actually delicious. For my entire I got the Anyone's Ghost sandwich (beyond burger/ avocado/ onion/ pickled chilies/ queso blanco/ chili mayo) that came with fries and "hunny mustard" dipping sauce. I liked that the burger was on a ciabatta type bread, opposed to a traditional bun. I have had beyond burgers before, and this one tasted pretty similar to others. Nothing particular special as far as the patty itself. I did like all the topping choices for a mix of hot, tangy, and sweet. Again, a little heavy handed with the chilies in my opinion and I like heat! We got two pizzas to share, the Chik'n Parm (breaded chik'n cutlet/ cashew ricotta/ mozzarella/ red sauce/ parmesan/basil) and the Margherita (red sauce/tomato/ mozzarella/ pickled onion/basil/ balsamic glaze). I enjoyed both pizzas. They do a thinner crust, oven style which I felt worked well. The chik'n cutlet didn't quite have the texture or taste of chicken, nor should it, but I was impressed as it was pretty similar and satisfying. The Margherita was not the traditional pizza we all know, with the use of different colored tomatoes, pickled onion, and the balsamic glaze. I still liked it but it was a bit sweet to me. I am glad restaurants like Mozzarella Fellas are out there bringing some great cuisine options to vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters alike. Glad I got to experience it and if the situation was right I would absolutely go again.

Yelp
Didn't realize walking in that this was a plant-based menu. We ordered the Chik'n parm and BBQ burger--both were delicious! Super fresh and tasty. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I am new to the Winston-Salem area, and was happy to learn about Dom's. I've had Dom's three times, two of which were take out. 1. I ordered the Korean BBQ Cauliflower and the Spicy Mac & Cheese. I placed me order online, drove to the restaurant, and when I arrived, my order was ready for pickup. 20 minutes from order to pickup. I loved that! I highly recommend the Korean BBQ. The Spicy Mac & Cheese was dry. 2. I ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower and the fries. Again, I placed me order online, drove to the restaurant, and when I arrived, my order was ready for pickup. 20 minutes from order to pickup. I was not pleased with my options. There was no flavor. Breading used for the Buffalo Cauliflower was bland. 3. Last night for dinner, my wife and I decided to give Dom's one more shot. We want to support local, especially the restaurants that are plant based, as there are not many. During these times, it's important to hold a lot of grace as restaurants are understaffed and still working to navigate high turnover rates while also functioning. AND - as a guest, it's important to feel welcomed and cares for. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with the staff. It was very clear that the host and the servers were very flustered. The restaurant was at about 40% capacity. Our server was as sweet as pie, but frequently forgot things like our cocktails and even gave our food to the wrong table. This was a little frustrating as there weren't many people at the restaurant. Eating at Dom's in person is something I highly suggest over takeout. My wife ordered the pizza and had plenty to take home - it was delicious. I ordered the Piccata and would order it again. Overall - I do believe we would go to Dom's again. I suggest that people going during dinner make a reservation. Although it wasn't packed, and they seat walk-ins, the host got really flustered when those without reservations ask to be seated. Ironically, most of the tables with reservations markers on them were empty. Over time - we hope they continue to work out the kinks, and consider adding more fresh produce to the menu.

Yelp
First time here, they deserve a 5 star for the simple fact that it is not easy for vegan food to come up as tasty. They do it right! The food is good and their servers are very nice. Not something I would crave or eat everyday, but this is heaven for vegans. Not a fan of their deserts but they are okay.

Monica T.

Yelp
I'm not a vegan, but the buffalo caulifower was awesome, cauliflower pizza is amazing, kale salad was beyond imagination, definitely returning, keep the amazing work

John B.

Yelp
It's definitely one of my stranger culinary experiences. This is a restaurant that I originally bookmarked based on its homemade mozzarella. It has subsequently gone all vegan, changed names, and relocated. I guess it's still the same business in some sense, but from my perspective it's a weird flex. Anyway, I'm game to try plant-based Italian. Having said that, when I finally found a reason to be in the neighborhood, they had moved locations but hadn't fully opened this one up yet and were not doing in-person dining. They were also offering a pretty limited menu. So I have to review them in that context, bearing in mind the pandemic we're all still living with. On top of that, it was just a bit odd. I gave a shot to some "crab cakes" based on mushrooms. I have no idea what a real crab cake tastes like (but I find the notion unpleasant), nor would I know a lion's mane mushroom if I saw one, so why order this? I guess I just wanted them to impress me. And I will say that the stringy, thick texture of the mushrooms and their savory flavor juxtaposed against the crisp, sweet breading and sauce made for a distinctive flavor combination, and was maybe not my favorite, but was way better than other "vegan crab cakes" I've tried. The penne arrabiata seemed straightforward enough, but actually came with a very creamy sauce and heavy dollops of something that is presumably not cheese on top. It's strange in the sense that the non-vegan version of the dish wouldn't normally have much cheese or cream; maybe just a sprinkling on top. I ordered it because I was hoping for something light and fresh, but it seemed like they just wanted to prove they could do vegan dairy substitutes. And I guess it was pretty satisfying for that. Anyway, I'm inclined to err on the side of giving them a nice rating because they produced cuisine that seemed to meet their mark, even though them and me weren't quite on the same page. And if they start doing pizzas again, I'd be genuinely curious to see what they come up with. It looked like a nice enough place to eat inside (or on a small deck) once they (and we) are ready.

Jeanine K.

Yelp
Service was great, but the highlight of our experience was definitely the food! I will say it's pricier than a typical pizza place, but the quality and freshness of everything makes it well worth it. We started with their bbq fried cauliflower wings and I have to say they are a MUST try! The portion is larger than expected (in a good way!) and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly with a great crunch on the outside. We split the chopped salad and buffalo pizza for our main entree. The salad itself could use more greens, but the toppings were fresh and plentiful with a delicious (definitely homemade) Italian dressing. As for the buffalo pizza I was blown away. Cauliflower and avocado on a buffalo pizza?! Not something I would think to put together on a pizza, but it was worked! The avocado gave it an extra creaminess which paired so well with the heat from the buffalo sauce. While looking at the menu I noticed that you can swap out for gluten free and vegan options at no additional price, which was really great to see. I'm not gluten free or vegan, but some of the up charges for these kind of substitutions at other restaurants are ridiculous so it was nice to see that they don't charge extra for that here. I do wish we had room for dessert because the cannoli and zeppoli sounded delicious! We will definitely be back soon! (I spent the majority of our time there gazing at the dishes going by, like the mozzarella sticks and all the pasta dishes!)

Bonnie L.

Yelp
Soooo. I first saw this as a restaurant that had Italian food. It had lots of great reviews. We were starving! We get there abs apparently it's under new ownership. It's now a limited vegetarian place. They forgot to update it on Yelp apparently. We felt bad and were so hungry si we ordered the Korean cauliflower appetizer. They was actually pretty tasty. We paid the bill and left because it wasn't what we had in mind and they only had a few choices. The Inside was beautiful Thoth!

MV B.

Yelp
Reopened, Don's is a delicious Vegan restaurant! Staff was friendly, food was delicious, and service was fast! It is a downtown

Rachel S.

Yelp
This is a great, local place to try out some interesting takes on traditional Italian cuisine. They offer a really large variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. We started with the fried moz and loved it! I could easily just eat that for my meal and suffer the consequences of it later.... Our service was great, and our server, Michelle, was super friendly and offered some excellent recommendations. We tried the spaghetti and meatballs, and my husband tried the Angry Italian pizza. Both excellent choices for a first timer! The food and ambiance was great, but the only thing that is keeping me from giving it a full 5 stars is the price. I think it's just a liiittle overpriced for the quantity. But still worth trying it out. We will definitely be visiting again!

Mark Y.

Yelp
Had a craving for Italian on our trip and found this place had good reviews. When we arrived the service folks were nice and they asked us if we had reservations but we didn't . I looked around and only two tables had people sitting. They got us seated quickly. I noticed on Yelp it said Italian and then Vegan. We head the fried gnocchi with sausage and pine nuts which was delicious. I had the Chick'n parmigiana penne with a red sauce and it was good but about halfway through as being dumbfounded I discovered it wasn't chicken. Should have figured it out by the name but hey it was good and fooled me!

Neal G.

Yelp
Had some great meals here a year ago. But this week, the food seems to have slipped. The Cauliflour buffalo was a big lackluster-the batter crowded the cauliflour-perhaps larger caulflour would be better. The kale caesar had nothing great-need some fake cheese flavoring of some sort-perhaps brewers yeast based cheese to give it that blue cheese like flavor. The pizza bread was very bad; it was "Marghuerita" which is predicated on simplicity in the sauce-normally just tomatoes, salt. This sauce was an overly rich marinara-perhaps wonderful for people who like overspiced foods. But the sauces was garlicky, too oily. Real Marghuerita is the essence of simplicty and is usually made wiht less cheese. The cheese quality here was not the best vegan cheese.

Pearl B.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious food. Fresh and carefully prepared. Driving to Charlotte from New York, we decided to make a pit stop here. Vegan food can sometimes be iffy, but the food we ate here--on Easter Sunday lunchtime--was the bomb. Korean Barbequed Cauliflower and Kale Caesar wrap. Magnifique! And our server Brandon, very helpful.

Noah Z.

Yelp
My fiancé and I love Dom's. We've been frequent customers since the "Mozzarella Fellas" days. The staff is very kind and the service is always excellent. The food--always on point. For Brunch: try the sausage egg cheese and hashbrown sandwich. For Lunch: try the chik'n parm sandwich or the American Mary burger with a side of the baked beans or Mac n Cheese. They're both awesome. For Dinner: try the Dom's Burger, Spicy Mac and the chik'n Marsala. The cauliflower wings are an appetizer you don't want to miss. I only wish they were open more and had breakfast hours / breakfast options. Dom's has quickly become one of Winston-Salem's must visit restaurants for Vegetarians, Vegans and adventurous meat-eaters alike!

Joanne T.

Yelp
This is a cute little date spot if you're in the mood for some italian or wanting to impress your vegan date. Ample parking and tentative service. Prices are about 12-20 per entree. Plenty of food to fill you up. I ordered the oyster mushroom calamari for an appetizer. I'd give it a 4/5. It had great crunch, but lots of small, crumb-like pieces. The dipping sauce was okay, but left something to be desired. For my entree I got the chicken parmesan, but with vegan cheese. It comes with a choice of a house salad or caesar salad. FYI the caesar salad comes with kale (to anyone who doesn't like kale). I thought the salad was pretty good. The chicken parm was great, but my only complaint is that the chicken was on the dry side. I wasn't a fan of the bread they served with the pasta. It was very dry and had way too much crust.

Amy H.

Yelp
Overpriced for the quality of food. Got a burger and fries as carry out and it was good but definitely was expecting to be wowed at 20 bucks. House burger looked so yummy but I tasted the onion and mustard way more than the patty.

Bianka M.

Yelp
Customer service is the core of any business, minor things can go overlooked when the staff treat the customers like they are important and valued. Disclaimer: if you act like a jackA$$ (customer) I don't expect you to be treated amazing BUT somehow I feel like if you do here they will still treat you well as they noticeably value their customers. We had lunch here today after checking out our hotel right up the road. I am nursing and has about a liter of milk pumped and in 2 large bottles. We entered and I whispered my odd request to have a large wide cup of ice to put my milk on while we had lunch before our 2 hour drive back to Charlotte. The hostess tried her best and brought back a small cup as she didn't get it, a nice gentleman in the open kitchen overhead me whispering to her came over took a look at my bottles and said "Seat them and I'll be over to take care of the milk". He then came out with a large bucket of ice that I placed the milk in and took it to fill with more ice. How awesome is that?? Now to the restaurant, the open kitchen and seating set up is very welcoming and light filled. I love the eco-friendly metal straws. The staff is friendly, welcoming, attentive, engaging and great at working together. I was excited as they have Vegan items. We started with naked cauliflower wings with buffalo & bbq on the side. They were cooked perfectly with the right amount of season and crunchy as can be. My husband had the Chicken Parm which he enjoyed. I had the Jackfruit Philly that I couldn't finish however it was sooo yummy. Our toddler had a cheese pizza. They have Vegan versions of items and non Vegan options which is great. This place is a must do for anyone looking for exceptional customer service and good food.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are vegan and while visiting Winston Salem we were recommended to check out Dom's. We were excited to try the food but were met with a very unorganized and disappointing experience. We walked through town and arrived at Dom's on a Saturday at 6pm planning to grab a bite before we head to our 8 o'clock event. When we asked for a table for two we were told that they were taking no more walk-ins. We asked if we could sit at the bar and we were told that they were under-staffed and could not serve us. We asked if we could wait on a table, which we were told that we couldn't, and right as we were about to leave we were asked if we wanted take-out instead. An employee then told us that the cauliflower appetizer was delicious and so we asked if we could place an order for the cauliflower and look over the menu for an entree. We asked if we could order the Supreme Pizza and we were told that they couldn't because they were out of Pizza boxes. We asked if we could take the pizza in a separate to-go container and we were told no. We asked to speak to the manager to see if there was any way that we could try the pizza and she explained how "They aren't allowed to serve their pizza to-go" but that she would do it this one time. We waited for the pizza while sitting on an indoor bench for 40 minutes, while we were sitting, we saw plenty of tables open up as other customers were leaving but we were never asked if we wanted to be seated now that tables are available and never offered water as we sat there, ignored. Our names were called for the pizza (Which was in a pizza box) and when I asked about the cauliflower they said that they forgot to place the order for the appetizer. We told them it was ok and left the restaurant with the pizza in hand looking for a park or somewhere that we could sit and eat, and when we opened the pizza box we saw that the pizza was not sliced (just a big round pizza), the pizza was undercooked (all of the cheese slid off the pizza when we took it out the box) and that there were barely any toppings on it. We walked all the way back to Dom's brought the pizza back and just simply asked for a refund. We decided to walk a few blocks up the street and eat at a restaurant called Yamas which had a much better experience. We were really looking forward to trying the food at Dom's but after this experience I would not have integrity if I recommended this restaurant to anyone.

Joy R.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem! The food is delicious. The owner is amazing. The atmosphere of this place is so chill and modern. There's no all vegan restaurants here in Winston so I am so glad we have this. And it's not just an average vegan menu full of soy. They take time to prepare REAL food! They're menu is not as extensive as it has been with options, but the owner is adding things back in gradually. I love every thing that is on the menu! I've had vegan food all across the US and I will put them in my top 5! I would love for them to bring back the Lions Mane Filet with pasta! omg And I love the Breakfast Sandwich with fries! As a matter of fact, i think I'll place an order right now!

Amber T.

Yelp
Excited to finally eat in, and visit their new location. This is my vegan daughter's favorite place in Winston. I'm vegetarian, and my other daughter and boyfriend are omnivores. We all like their food, Buffalo cauliflower being at the top of the list! This was an interesting experience. They are using the Toast app for table service, which we all really enjoyed. Anyone at your table can join the ticket and place their own orders, and it can be done at your leisure. We placed 4 different orders at different times for beverages, appetizers and entrees. Service was okay, but their only task was running out the food and refilling water. The restaurant didn't seem to be *quite* ready for patrons, example the paint ladder I could see leaning against the wall from my table. We ordered nachos, gnocchi, the barbecue platter, a side of fries, and buffalo cauli. I highly recommend the barbecue platter, but if you aren't used to vegan food, it might not be your thing. They really excel at their pasta dishes. As a customer of the former Mozzarella Fellas, I have high hopes that I'll be writing a 5 star review soon.

Elias C.

Yelp
It was my first time at Dom's today. I was very excited, until I realized my food was to salty to eat! Sadly, I won't be back. :(

Diane H.

Yelp
We loved it!! Pizza really reminds me of home, NY style is best style for pizza. We will absolutely be coming back. Just one complaint, don't sit us by Windows again although they put blinds down, we were burning up. Had not been here in a while & was slightly sad that some of our favorite items were no longer on the menu. Actually when I checked in, I got offer for free Garlic Knots for my check in & was told it's no longer on the menu. (Not going to lie, slightly disappointed that they did not offer something else in its place.) However, I do have to say I really enjoyed a new item on the menu the fried cauliflower wings. It was even more appealing because my two lil ones actually liked them as well. It's a little pricey but well worth it. As always the fried Mozarella is oozey gooey deliciousness. Slightly disappointed about the chicken sandwich no longer on the menu. If you are vegan or vegetarian this is definitely an outstanding place for you. Especially is you enjoy great service!

Yelp
After being in the car for 10+ hours, we needed a non-fast food option. MF got great reviews so we popped in. Easy to get to off the highway, and in a cute strip mall by the Sam's Club. We ordered their baked meatballs, a small pizza, caprice salad and Caesar salad. The mozzarella was delicious, I believe they hand pull it. Great oil/balsamic vinegar. Meatballs are very flavorful & delicious! Spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente! If in Winston Salem- stop by here. Great service too!

Yelp
Where should I start? Let's start with Hannah, the amazing waitress that took care of us. She was one of the best waitresses that I have had anywhere. She was super friendly and each time she came to the table she had a smile on her face. The food, wow! We started with fried mozzarella for an appetizer that was fried to perfection. From here I had a side salad with ranch. The salad was fresh and the ranch also had a great flavor. It definitely wasn't out of a bottle. For our meal we had the large Siciliano pizza. This pizza was so flavorful and is the closest pizza I have had to what I tasted in Italy years ago. I will definitely return and look forward to trying more.

Yelp
Absolutely AMAZING! We got the P.I.M.C fries and Mac and cheese and both blew us away! The service was amazing too, a must visit for vegans and non-vegans!

Yelp
*COVID takeout* Exceptional customer service made this a no-brainer five star review! My friend has severe dairy and sunflower/sunflower lecithin allergies, and the employee who answered the phone when I called (as well as the owner, who readily answered ingredient questions) truly went above and beyond. We ordered a large selection of items for just two people, and we had to be sure that nothing had dairy or sunflower in it--from the almond milk to the pizza dough and chocolate chips. The employee combed every label with the care and compassion of a family member! And the food! Highlights from our haul included the White Pie, zeppoli, and mozzarella sticks. I highly recommend ordering a second side of marinara sauce so you can dip the White Pie in addition to the mozzarella sticks, which were creamy on the inside. The breading was marvelous: even, flakey, and so crispy! Do not miss the zeppoli. Even if you're full up on pizza and mozzarella sticks, get an order of these cinnamon-sugar-dusted pillows of fried goodness to enjoy in the morning with coffee or in the afternoon with tea. Like the cannoli, there's a slight coconuttiness (coconut milk or creamer in the dough perhaps?) that is so complimentary to the zeppoli's balanced sweetness. We also ordered the 'Sin Eaters' fries and a cannoli. Fair warning, you get a ton of seasoned French fries with two ramekins of smoky vegan ranch. This was more of an "if we can, we must" purchase than because we were necessarily craving fries; however, it was so hard to stop munching on them. The cannoli was my least favorite, simply because taken altogether, I found it overly rich and sweet. Order one to share! The "ricotta" filling was like a slightly tangy, slightly coconutty custard. That plus the thick cannoli shell and drizzles of honey sauce were too much. I preferred to spoon the cannoli filling onto the addicting zeppoli! Dom's, you hit a home run and have gained two customers for life!

Yelp
Favorite date spot in WS! My boyfriend and I frequent Mozzarella fellas and their pizza is delicious. I always get a 10' pizza and take the second half home to heat up the next day (just as good heated up), but everything on their menu looks amazing. They have metal straws and both vegan and gluten free options! The fellas margarita below is on their gluten free crust and it tastes just like normal pizza crust. Try out the buffalo cauliflower, it's cooked so it's crispy and flavorful. On fridays they have $5 Friday appetizers!

Yelp
My daughter is vegan and she gives this place 6 stars. She hasn't found a good vegan place in a long time. She loves the vegan barbecue pizza. The rest of us non vegans liked our food as well. Service was great. We're definitely coming back next time we're in town. I had the Classico Stromboli. Was kind of like a calzone. Different from southern Indiana Strombolis. It's good to try regional differences

Yelp
I have had Dom's twice in 3 weeks w/my first experience 3 weeks ago. On my first visit, I had the BBQ Jackfruit sandwich with a Caesar side salad. The sandwich was amazing. Very flavorful! The salad was very fresh with cherry tomatoes & cucumbers, which was nice. Service was fast & friendly. A few days ago, I had the chorizo nachos. AMAZING! Huge portion and I ate every bite! The walnuts added a nice texture to the mix. I will definitely return to try more items. I think I may try the bbq cauliflower next...decisions, decisions!

Yelp
Poor guy ran one of the best lunch restaurants in town then decided to close it and open this abomination of a restaurant. Can't imagine quality ingredients is a phrase spoken often in the back of house. This place is unfortunately your only real vegan option in town....and it's not great

Yelp
I was only in town for the day. I was visiting my daughter in Asheboro and we decided to drive up to Winston Salem. We ordered a variety of things from the menu because it all sounded so delicious, and we wanted lunch and dinner. From the sin eater fries, demon cauliflower, slipped mozzarella sticks, lit up Buffalo chick'n sandwich, and the terrible love Mac and cheese, it did not disappoint. Everything was absolutely delicious. Don't forget dessert, the salted caramel coconut cream pie was the best coconut cream pie I've ever had. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

Yelp
We have been meaning to go to Dom's since they were Mozzarella Fellas- and although we never made it to the previous iteration, I am so happy we made it out last night. We were driving home to Durham from Hanging Rock State Park- and they were the perfect stop! We tried a lot of different items- my favorite were the Korean BBQ Cauliflower, the Caesar Salad, and the Chik'n Marsala. It was so hard to decide what to get, everything looked amazing. Service was great, I loved the atmosphere (very nice and spacious) - it would be perfect for a fancy dinner out, but also didn't make our family feel out of place- as we were rather rough-looking after a day of hiking (and with little kids). I would highly recommend, and I look forward to stopping in again on our travels!

Yelp
i've been here twice and it has quickly become my favorite Italian place in Winston Salem. They have a multitude of healthy options, offering pasta and pizza options that are vegan friendly, gluten-free friendly, and everything in between. Our service was fantastic at both visits, and I plan to become a frequent diner here! I'm absolutely in love - I've tried the vegan bbq cauliflower appetizer (we ate so much that we had to take our entrees to go), their signature chickpea pasta (with vegan sausage and cheese!!), and the bbq jackfruit pizza. Every single item was incredible!! Please make the trip, this place does NOT get enough credit!!

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick lunch at this relatively new pizza joint, opened in April 2016. The place is nicely laid out, all tables no booths, with plenty of cool NYC related pictures on the walls, including a mug shot of a very young Frank Sinatra, arrested for "seduction" - how cool is that? We ordered a large House Salad to share, and a couple of slices of Cheese Pizza and a couple of slices of Pepperoni - wanted extra cheese on both, but we were told that couldn't be done because the individual slices were "already made up" - more than a little strange, but alrighty then! The salad was large, and very fresh tasting, with a nice amount of freshly shredded mozzarella cheese on top. The Blue Cheese Dressing was just ok, with a touch of sweetness where there should have been a bit of sharpness. The slices were out quickly, very hot, with a thin, nicely cooked crust, and absolutely huge. The overall taste of the Cheese slices was good, but they were thin on the cheese taste, and that's really what Cheese Pizza is about. The Pepperoni slices were nice, great tasting pepperoni without being overly greasy, but as with the other slices, thin on the cheese. This is pretty good pizza, nice crust, but if we revisit, I'd get a whole pie, and have it done my way. But given the location, and the restrictions on ordering individual slices, I'm not sure we'd come back - not with Vinnie's sitting there on the other side of Winston, with better pizza, and a bit more flexibility.

Yelp
Customer service was super good, and the staff was really accommodating to our friend with a tree nut allergy, and our server was very knowledgeable about the food. I will say i do wish they would add the Buffalo 'chicken' sandwich to their dinner menu because I've been really wanting to try it but haven't been able to swing over there for lunch. Aside from that they have amazing plant based cuisine the Korean cauliflower is out of this world, and the drinks are top notch. The vibe of this restaurant is really nice, it's casual enough to go there after work but also nice enough to go there on a date if that's what you're into. I am so glad there's a vegan restaurant in the area and this is definitely a place I'm going to become a regular at.

Yelp
Wanted to love this place. Love the mission and focus. Need some work on basic customer service and timing. Food was supposed to be ready at 6:48. 20 minutes later, got the food. got home and discovered that they provided the wrong burger. American Mary supposed to have queso and "bakin". Had neither. $16 for a beyond burger I could get at Burger King for $6.

Yelp
We usually really like Dom's and order from them at least once a week. The past two times we've ordered take out things were either missing, or simply not what we ordered. Tonight my husband's gnocchi was completely missing the faux sausage. I called to see if we could get the situation resolved and they had me bring the whole dish back to "prove" it was incorrect. There was no compensation for their mistake. Yes, they remade the dish for me, but that was it. The excuse was "our chef has done this one mote than once". Um... my salad was also missing the dressing, but that's minor, I have dressing at my house. They were not busy and the front of house team didn't really seem to care that the order was a completely incorrect and things were missing.

Vince D.

Yelp
Please note that I am not vegan so I'm not rating for this category. Just letting others know that the Yelp photos, which I used to decide where to eat, are out dated and not relevant to this restaurant. We were very confused to find this out as we were ordering.

Yelp
On a rainy day during the week, we drove to Winston to try out this spot. I made reservations, but it seemed unnecessary upon arrival. Decor was cute. Mask not worn by waitress, whom was very friendly and knowledgeable, didn't make me too happy. Everyone else wore one. Ordered the cauliflower appetizer. A-mazing. Asked for some hot sauce and with the Alabama dipping sauce this was perfection. The crunch on the cauliflower was just awesome. Ordered two entrees the pumpkin lentil loaf and gnocchi. Unfortunately they don't have the carbonara anymore which was what I planned on having. The gnocchi was not good to me. The sauce had an interesting consistency and after taste that I simply didn't find enjoyable. The lentil loaf was a play on meatloaf. It was okay by itself, but with hot sauce, the well cooked greens and mashed potatoes and cauliflower was good. Vegan food is typically more costly, but I did expect better execution based on this being a plant based restaurant and the cost of the food.

Yelp
Ahhh this is a hard one!!!! So glad there is a vegetarian restaurant in WS but just wish the execution was better. Pros: our waitress was super personable and suggested two great wines, pretty water carafe on table, water glasses really nice, nice cloth napkins, nice cutlery and especially like the metal straw! Cons: limited menu, menu relies heavily on plant based products like Chik'N cutlets, Beyond breakfast sausage, and 'Nduja sausage (which I think they are using soy chorizo sausage) and the prices are fairly high for an entree that is really just putting together some premade products with a starch and a sauce. We had the Chik'N Parm and Marsala entrees. The pasta for the parm was over cooked and falling apart but the marinara was good. The Marsala was very salty, it was like they seasoned the Chik'N cutlet even though those things are already loaded with salt. The Marsala sauce was very thick and more like gravy. The mashed potatoes were also quite salty. We previously ordered takeout and had the gnocchi. It was really good but is pretty easy to make at home for about $5 instead of $20. The place is really pretty though so if you want to eat here I would definitely take advantage of the space and service and eat in and not do takeout. I wish they would do more fresh veggie innovative things rather than cooking frozen products as the centerpiece of the meal. Next time I'd go to Diamondback for vegetarian fair they have about the same sized plant based menu with prices $5-10 less and nary a frozen product in sight other than a bun or wrap.

Yelp
really good! I got the jackfruit pizza and Korean bbq cauliflower. There aren't many vegan options in Winston, so when I found this one I was thrilled! The owner, Brian is a very nice guy and helpful, and Even if you're not vegan, MF is a great place to start!

Ariel V.

Yelp
Awesome service and food. Definitely going back to eat at the establishment..Korean cauliflower must have .....burgers are to die for
