We stopped in for a quick lunch at this relatively new pizza joint, opened in April 2016. The place is nicely laid out, all tables no booths, with plenty of cool NYC related pictures on the walls, including a mug shot of a very young Frank Sinatra, arrested for "seduction" - how cool is that?
We ordered a large House Salad to share, and a couple of slices of Cheese Pizza and a couple of slices of Pepperoni - wanted extra cheese on both, but we were told that couldn't be done because the individual slices were "already made up" - more than a little strange, but alrighty then!
The salad was large, and very fresh tasting, with a nice amount of freshly shredded mozzarella cheese on top. The Blue Cheese Dressing was just ok, with a touch of sweetness where there should have been a bit of sharpness.
The slices were out quickly, very hot, with a thin, nicely cooked crust, and absolutely huge. The overall taste of the Cheese slices was good, but they were thin on the cheese taste, and that's really what Cheese Pizza is about. The Pepperoni slices were nice, great tasting pepperoni without being overly greasy, but as with the other slices, thin on the cheese.
This is pretty good pizza, nice crust, but if we revisit, I'd get a whole pie, and have it done my way. But given the location, and the restrictions on ordering individual slices, I'm not sure we'd come back - not with Vinnie's sitting there on the other side of Winston, with better pizza, and a bit more flexibility.
