Don Burrito

I used to go to this restaurant all the time when it was located in the same strip mall as Sports Grill. They had a delicious dish that I always ordered, and I think it was called tacos al Pastor. I definitely remember it was described as pork marinated with pineapple juice, achiote, etc.; same as the description shown in the current menu but for a fajita, not a taco. I definitely remember it didn’t have green peppers, and matter of fact the description on the menu for the fajitas doesn’t mention green peppers either. But their current description of the Pastor taco didn’t say anything about it being marinated with pineapple etc., so I ordered the fajita, thinking I was mistaken in my memory. Big mistake. It came with dried out chicken strips and so much green peppers that that was the only thing I could taste, even after removing all the peppers and just leaving the onions. So that was definitely not what I used to order before. I’ll give them one more try and next time order the tacos al Pastor, and see if I like it better, and make sure it doesn’t come with the peppers. My husband did like his pechuga gratinada, but he also remembers it didn’t used to come with tomatoes and green peppers on top, and now it does. The takeout order was correct and everything else was ok, so we’ll give it one more try in the future. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, plus the cook is probably not the same one. That could explain it.

My family and I enjoy going to have dinner here very frequently. The quality of food is always consistently good. But, the service is even better. Rocio always welcomes us with a smile, and our toddler loves her. She is friendly and knows exactly what we order each time. She makes a big difference in the restaurant and makes us feel like we are home.

This is one of the BEST Mexican restaurants we have ever been to. Their food is delicious, the ambiance is very nice, and their service is impecable. We always go there and have a great time, all their servers are very profesional but there's one in particular that stands out. Her name is Nevis, and although she is Cuban she knows their menu and the restaurant's customs inside and out. Highly recommend asking for her!! (we do it all the time)

Excellent food and service. Very good prices and fast friendly service. The location is fairly large and has a friendly environment. The menu is extensive and prices and great for the size and quality of the food. The atmosphere is slightly worn due to the high frequency of clients. However. It is very clean and spacious. The food was fresh and very good.

My brother had been encouraging me to try Don Burrito for quite some time, and I finally decided to give it a visit. I wasn’t sure what to order at first, but Nevis kindly took the time to suggest several dishes and explain them in detail. When she mentioned the chicken mole poblano, I was immediately excited to try it. The moment I tasted it, I was transported back to my grandmother’s kitchen it truly reminded me of her homemade mole. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service provided by Nevis was exceptional. I will definitely be returning every time I visit Miami, which is about once or twice a month. Maria

This has been my longtime spot for Mexican food. I cannot say it is the best Mexican I have ever had, but it is consistently good, and that reliability is why I keep coming back. My go to dishes are the enchiladas al carbon and the chile relleno. They come out hot, flavorful, and satisfying every single time. The portions feel fair for the price. Service is consistently friendly and attentive, and the dining area always has a lively ambiance. If you want a dependable place that delivers, this is a solid choice.

The best & most authentic Mexican restaurant in Miami. You walk in & right away it smells like you just walked into your abuelita’s kitchen who’s been cooking all day. That’s how you KNOW this place is going to be good! They are extremely consistent. I’ve been coming here for years. I went yesterday & I hadn’t been here for a few years & everything tasted exactly how I remembered it. The best salsa I’ve ever had I can literally drink it! That’s how good it is lol. The 1 star reviews on here about the food are honestly ridiculous. The people of Kendall will never be satisfied. This town is full of entitled & cheap people! This is why a lot of small businesses struggle here. I hope this restaurant continues to thrive. I will forever be a customer of theirs!

Yesterday I went to Don Burrito again, and my experience truly exceeded all my expectations. The atmosphere was wonderful. The music was good, and the service was excellent. I must say that we were a group, and we also had an elderly person with difficulty walking with us. The waitress who served us was very kind to us and very caring with my 84-year-old mother. She helped us choose from the menu and also explained the different options available for my mother to eat, as well as options for us, not only for food but also for different drinks. We are truly more than grateful and happy with her service. THANK YOU SO MUCH, NEIVIS. I hope there are always people like you. THANK YOU

The ambiance was so cute. The service was very good. But the food was awesome, best Mexican food I've had in a long time!!

Haven't been here for a while. Today is Taco Tuesday and I figure why not pass by. The place was not busy per say. I was seated right away and I ordered a drink to start. As I waited to make an order I noticed that the drink had not arrived, the server continue seating people however I asked him again about it to which he eventually brought it. I ordered my food and since I have previous experience I felt that it would be the same. Well to my surprise it was not. I order a soup and some tacos. The soup lacked taste and was simple to the taste. The rice that it came with was not soft and was actually getting stale. Now to the Tacos simple and to the point. The plate came with beans and rice which the beans had a taste of burnt means. Neatness to say nothing further to eat from this plate. To add the refill never came until I asked twice for it. The ambiance needs improvement as it does not possesses that spark for excitement. If you follow me, you know I am very blunt about customer service and making sure to follow up from the moment the client sits to when he or she leaves. I believe the food may not be so great but if the service is top notch most likely you will have a return customer. Just my thoughts. On this occasion I would not recommend this restaurant, but then again you may have a different experience than me.

Local Mexican spot with great Mexican dishes and full bar located in Kendall. Many fresh food options to choose from here. This restaurant is an establishment to enjoy with friends or family with a lively atmosphere. Certain nights Mariachi music fills the air with your ocasional sing a longs. Service here is quick. Had the queso fundido, quesadillas and the Burrito ranchero plate. All were delicious!

Can't go wrong with this great Mexican place in Kendall! The service and food was great and the overall ambience was nice with the option to sit either inside outside or at the bar. We ordered a few dishes, including the chicken and steak quesadilla, guacamole with chips.

It was an eventful Friday afternoon and I was on the hunt for the perfect post work treat. A friend of mine recommended Don Burrito and thank God she did! I lovedddd the decor on the inside down to the bar. It's soooo freaking cute in there. I'm a little bias because Mexican spots will alwaysss hold a special place in my heart. The chips and salsa meeting you at the table....the food prices...the MARGS, just the recipe to my happiness. Alfredo was my server and I lovedddd him. Super efficient. Super helpful/suggestive. Super pleasant. At one point in time I was skeptical that he was a mind reader because he was a little too good at anticipating my needs. Hmm that's an investigation for another time though. He recommended the strawberry frozen marg and it was fireeeeee. Probably the best one I've had yet haha. Tasted almost like a boozy strawberry lemonade. Loved it! He also recommended the chimichanga and it was sooooo good and flavorful. Left there super satisfied with everything. Would 1000% recommend if you're craving Tex Mex and I will be back!

Hefty serving sizes of delicious Mexican fare! Complimentary chips and salsa were excellent and the enchiladas were top notch. Micheladas were one of the best I've had. Our servers were attentive and kind. The space was bigger than I imagined with a full bar and great Mexican decor. Would gladly return if I am in the area.

Excellent food at a great price! I came here for the first time today (5-25-2024) because I saw a reel about the best Mexican restaurants in SoFlo and this was the closest one to me. I would have loved to have stayed an eaten inside but my daughter wanted to get it to go and eat at home. It was fairly quiet on a Saturday afternoon. They have indoor and outdoor seating. No one was eating outside. I ordered the enchiladas verde with chicken. My daughter ordered the shrimp tacos. They both came with Mexican rice and refried beans on the side. Both had three tacos/enchiladas per order. We sat outside and waited. It was ready in about 15-20 minutes. When we arrived home, the food was still hot. The chicken enchiladas were excellent. The sauce on them is a nice lime cilantro sauce. Very tasty! The meal is pretty big. I was starving, but was still only able to eat half of it. My daughter also had leftovers. She liked the tacos. They dice the shrimp up, which she liked. Altogether, after tip, the bill was still less than $50. I find this very reasonable for the amount of food and as delicious as it was. I would love to go back and enjoy a meal inside of the restaurant. Maybe have a margarita!

Food is excellent, Great Margaritas and Fajitas! Food portions are satisfactory. Cant find any other place just as good. But there is one thing they need to be better at - either serve more chips and salsa or give the second portion free like other places and when they ask for a third, then charge for that. But even with this fault, I keep going back because I love the place and recommended for sure.

Good food, very affordable, and quick service. We live close by, and Don Burrito is a perfect dinner stop for us on those days you didn't plan on dining out.

Recently discovered don burrito and it is now a favorite. My daughter loves the quesadillas. Only suggestion would be to add a couple more tortillas for the fajitas.

Delicious home-made Tex Mex style family restaurant. Colorful decor, extensive menu where it's easy to find something for everyone. Waitresses don't speak much English but the menu is bilingual so it's easy to order. The salsa that is brought to the table tends to be on the watery and bland side, but you can ask them for hot sauce to tune up the heat level. Their fajita is a generous portion that can easily feed two. We have tried a variety of things here, and most are quite satisfying, except the flautas - the chicken meat is rather dry.

A great option for large groups and they have a diverse menu with lots to choose from. The Paloma I had was pretty good, and they have different drink specials, so you'll find something you like. The steak brazada is a great option. It comes with a mix of bacon, cilantro, onions, and melted mozzarella cheese on top. Also comes with side of tortillas to enjoy. Service is great!

Last night my husband and I went to Don Burrito. I couldn't believe they charged us extra for chips n salsa . They should tell you beforehand. The worst was that they charged us for a refill of ice tea. That's just water . Again tell the customer that you will be charging them for it. Don't think will be going back!

First time here, considering the location is in Miami, food was decent. One thing that was a turn off, was the fact that tortillas were not offered with the Carne Asada Tampiquena. Anywhere you go that has nexus to Mexico (Texas, California, Mexico etc) anytime you order a Tampiquena, you will be offered Tortillas. Server offered tortillas with my dish, manager stopped him and said the plate does not come with tortillas. The manager needs to learn about the dishes he serves.

Went here yesterday with my boyfriend and really enjoyed ourselves. The ambience is cheerfully themed. Very colorful and full of Mexican art. The service was also very good and attentive, which is super important to me. The food was good as well, we had pastor tacos, and gringos tacos as well as a plate for bean nachos. The nachos were trying too had to be aesthetic but they were good. My boyfriend loved the gringo tacos and my plate was also good. I would come back

Really good & fast Mexican food! Love the variety of options. I ordered takeout so I can't say what the location or service there is like. My order was done correctly and it was delivered on time. The food was delicious!

Food was not as fresh as in prior occasions. The carne asada felt that it was cooked way before and was overcooked not warm.

We had a really disappointing experience here. The food did not look appetizing at all -- my kids wouldn't even touch it. When I brought it to the manager's attention, the only response I got was to "get boxes." There was no effort to help resolve the situation, no understanding, and no refund offered. Very poor service and not a place I would recommend.

Great place we visited on dios ser muertos so the atmosphere was catered around it but the restaurant had nice decorations the tacos were amazing 10/10 steak was well cooked and the chicken was seasoned perfectly the nachos were okay but not a lot for what your paying for and presented in an odd way traditional chips with queso would have been better

Decided to try this place after recommendations on a Miami local facebook mom group. Glad we did, we've been back a few times. Always good food, friendly service, and a nice vibe with live music. I love that they have plant-based friendly options making it easy for my to choose from the menu and having to have special requests. Portions are huge and very flavorful.

Small business family owned. Hard working and dedicated to the restaurant. I have gone for years and the food never disappoints. Servers are excellent they all are on top of your table. Food is served fast and amazing. Highly recommed.

We were looking to eat authentic Mexican food and were recommended Don Burrito's. It's hidden in a shopping center in Kendall and we were really impressed with the service we received as soon as we walked in, and how incredibly delicious the food was. They served us chips and salsa to start, the salsa and chips were so fresh and delicious we kept asking for more. We also tried the guac and chips, cheese dip, and chicken quesadilla. The restaurant is maintained impeccably clean, and it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. We can't wait to be back.

Have gone to this restaurant several times and service is always courteous and prompt, my wife had the Steak chimichanga and I had the peas ado loco, she was happy with her chimichanga but I was disappointed in my fish it was just a tilapia fillet with some green mango slices thrown on top along with a bunch of raw onions on top of that the fish was over cooked..if you ask for extra salsa they charge $2 had two margaritas first one was made with the Tequila we ordered Don Julio, the second one they tried to switch the tequila to a cheap brand and if you know tequila you can taste difference immediately. On top of that there were ants frozen in their ice cubes glad I didn't get charge extra for the protein. In my opinion overpriced for run of the mill Mexican food. Used to be better

I use to only order in from them until one day that I decided to physically go dine in. I quickly realized that they have a full bar with a TV. Started going there for happy hour and football The bar staff is young, fun and provide great customer service. Food comes out fast and it's delicious. It's become a local favorite. Check them out.

We come here so much there was a few months we went every date night for the same thing it's just so good and homey they never miss on the flavor. The courtesy salsa they give definitely has a weird flavor in my opinion but it's free so it doesn't count everything else is amazing including service. A must try.

An authentic Mexican restaurant in the sunset area. Don Burrito is a great casual spot for really good and reasonably priced Mexican food. The guacamole is delicious and so fresh. The margaritas are very large and they have good deals for them. I went with a few friends and we all ordered tacos. Everyone liked their meals but the Al pastor were the stars of the show. You get rice and beans with your 3 tacos and the price is great. If you're not looking for an upscale meal and want some comfort food this is the spot. It's very busy on weekends so service is a little slow but staff is very friendly.

Soooo goood! Ordered steak fajitas and am really happy with my choice. Fajitas come out sizzling hot accompanied with a good-sized plate with all the sides. Food had great flavors!! Definitely recommend!!

Went on the hunt for authentic Mexican food near me , and decided to try out Don burrito . This restaurant was recommended by a friend to because it has good food and great prices . The frozen margaritas definitely hit the spot and are large enough to last dinner . The server recommended the pescado loco , and she definitely did not disappoint. The fish felt fresh and filled with flavor . We also had the shrimp tacos and fajitas every dish was larger and filled . The music and decor felt as if I was transported to a little corner of Mexico .

Food is delicious and rates very fresh and authentic. The chicken soup is my favorite. The service is amazing. Friendly and respectful. Not the typical Miami rude service. The happy hour special drinks are delicious !

We tried this place for the first time on a Sunday. We liked the atmosphere... very typical Mexican decor. We ordered an appetizer... Queso Fundido and two Entrees---Burrito platter and Spinach Enchiladas... very tasty. Service was okay... not spectacular. On the fence if we are returning. Overall... good, not great.

If you want real Mexican food this is NOT the place to go. Horchata is made with power from the store and so is the guacamole straight from the plastic container from Publix. Waste of money! I didn't even eat all food.

Omg. The experience I had here today... Tbh, one of the worst ever in my life. Apparently it was their grand reopening yesterday. Not sure if that played a part. But my goodness. I had never been here and wanted to try it out. Basically we waited AN HOUR- for two fajitas and a chicken quesadilla. Yes. My little 5 year old was starving and started getting really agitated- as was I. Aside from the wait, the service was subpar. We received chips with no salsa. Has to ask for our drinks THREE times. Were charged for extra chips and salsa, which really should have been complimentary considering the horrendous wait. People who arrived after us received their food before we did. I noticed certain tables seemed to be receiving a lot of attention while me and my family sat in the corner being ignored. If we didn't wave down the servers they wouldn't come to check on us. To top it all off, adding ultimate insult to injury, they added an 18% - YES, 18% - gratuity to our bill. We were a party of 4, and I have never seen that. I wanted to talk to a manager but calmer minds in my party prevailed and talked me out of it. But yeah. This experience really was BAD. Food was pretty good, if you are wondering. Seemed like fresh ingredients. Salsa tastes good but was warm, which I didn't like.

First time here and I was not disappointed. From the food to the service, everything was fantastic. Live music was also a plus and complimentary chips and salsa. The decor is super cute and everything was very clean.

Six of us went for a late lunch. Everyone loved their food, Tacos, burrito, enchilada, and the sides like refried beans and Mexican rice. Margaritas are frozen or in ice, frozen has a choice of flavors other then lemon, strawberry was one but don't remember the other. In my opinion the chips and salsa are great. Just wish they would Always warm the chips first. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was served in an acceptable amount of time. Temperature was set at 73° according to the thermostat but it felt a little colder. All in all, for food and good service this is my favorite local Mexican food restaurant.

Their food is good quality but their protein options are limited. They don't sell cachete, buche, barbacoa, tripa like other Mexican restaurants and their hot sauces are mediocre at best. Their service is good and the restaurant looks really nice since it was remodeled

I have a HUGE complaint!!! When are you guys opening a location in Broward County so that I can go every week!!!!! You guys have me driving one hour to go eat the BEST Mexican food everrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I have to leave this review because the food and the attention here must be known!! you guys are AMAZING!! Thanks to all the staff that gave us that 5 stars service!!!!! Can you please have consideration for customers and not clean your floors with chemicals. I went to the restaurant today and I could barely breathe in there. The smell of chemicals was so strong. It was unbareable. And more than likely it was that Latino chemical that people use that's purple cause I smelled it before. I couldn't even go into the restaurant. I walked in and I had to walk out.
