"The ideal spot for a good meal and a good time. Must-have items on the menu include the finger-licking camaron a la francesa (shrimp in a parmesan cream sauce, served with Hawaiian plantains), salmon cilantro, and the traditional seafood rice dish, paella. Stop by the outside bar for happy hour and light bites with occasional live music." - Eater Staff

Had a great dinner with the boys at Don Camarón in Miami! The seafood was super fresh and flavorful — grilled fish, rice, and more. 🔥 The place has a chill atmosphere, and the service was on point too. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into good seafood! 💯🦐🐠 #SeafoodLovers #DonCamaron #MiamiEats #GoodTimes

Google
My server, Lovelys, was excellent, serviceable, Attentive. I had a wonderful dining experience. Better that the Don Cameron at 37th Ave in Miami. Looking forward to coming again

Google
I took my dad here for his birthday. We had a great time. I highly recommend checking this place out. The food and service were amazing. Make sure you can communicate and read Spanish, as the menu was in Spanish and most of the service team seemed to speak only Spanish. While the Paella wasn’t authentic at all, it was very good. The only downside was how loud it was. The band outside was ridiculously loud. Inside there was a large party that took up nearly half the restaurant and they were very loud and obnoxious as well.

Had a wonderful time here, the food was good but the wait staff was amazing, especially our waitress Yusnay. Yusnay was beautiful, sweet and very accommodating, A+ service.

I'm from Alabama and I was passing through after delivering a load in Hialeah, FL. I'm a truck driver, so sometimes it's hard to find places where I can fit with a long trailer. This restaurant location shares a parking lot with a very big Walmart Supercenter, so I was easily able to find parking. There are "no truck parking" signs but I left a note on my window with my phone number and I didn't have any issues. I ordered the Salmon Cilantro with shrimp, with sautéed broccoli as both of my sides (I'm avoiding carbohydrates for my carnivore diet). This dish was absolutely delicious! I'll admit, I almost changed my mind in favor of the "Volcan" dish because of the flavor profile it described but I'll just have to try that one next time I'm here. I'm glad I ordered this dish for this visit. I wasn't disappointed at all. I also ordered a 1/2 dozen raw oysters 🦪 which were good as well. I'm not a huge oyster connoisseur, so I can't really say if they were better than somewhere else, but I will say that they were just as good as any I've ever had anywhere else. Oysters in my opinion aren't that strong of a flavor, so it doesn't take much to please me on that front. They tasted fresh and with a slight squeeze of lime , they disappeared rapidly. 👀 My server was "Yusnay Z", she recommended the Salmon Cilantro and she was definitely right on the money! 🤌 She was attentive and very friendly. I will absolutely come back here when I deliver another load down in South Florida!

Google
Surprisingly good. Hidden in plain sight and next to shopping and gas station so there is no excuse to go have a good meal. The entrees are reasonably priced and keep the happy hour drinks coming. Our server Eslinda was on point with the service and kept up with the whole family.

Food was amazing and the service was really great. Dayanis was our server, and she was very attentive and kind. Our new favorite place in Miami!

Excellent food, big portions, affordable prices, great service. The fish is fresh and tasty, i was not impressed by the deserts, although looks good. This will be my preferred fish restaurant.

Yelp
So this local restaurant to the area where I live so yesterday o tell my daughter it's time you try stone crab claws! So we went to Don Camaron, we walk in we get seated immediately I straight away order a Red sangria and tostones with shrimp! So I tell my server we want stone crab and she was like NO we don't have that it's on the weekends only !!! I was upset! Like what that's the only reason why I came here I told her give me a minute so I tell my daughter you want to go? I had already order my sangria the tostones I'm like let's just eat here I was beyond disappointed! And this place is not cheap !! So we went on to order a baby churrasco either mash potatoes & broccoli which did not disappoint with tender perfectly cooked And we ordered what's considered a shrimp scampi which were also very good! Please enjoy my pictures! Cheers!! & Happy Friday!

Yelp
I have been coming to Don Camarón for many years. Tried many of their dishes but my favorite is the salmon cilantro. It is grilled salmon, 4 pieces of grilled shrimp and two sides. Don't forget to try their frozen lemonade. Service is always amazing. And most nights they have live bands or dj.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Came here for a family business celebration. They love seafood and they love the soup here so this is one of there go to spots. I had the fried fish platter sprinkled with pickled red onions and tomatoes with a side of yellow rice maduros. It was a Thursday night and I got 2-4-1 margarita I got the passionfruit flavored one it was delicious and only $9!! The staff was nice and attentive, space was clean. Not a lot of ppl on a Thursday night but I've been told they place live music on the weekends and it gets packed

Erik D.

Yelp
Good Friday Menu was a joke by the owner having it . My mother and I could not order SouP large bowl of fish . This owner really did poor decision making for Good Friday menu . I want to order multiple items which was not on Good Friday menu . When I served the fish soup I thought it was for a baby

Armand D.

Yelp
This unassuming restaurant was awesome! We went to another restaurant (La Rosa) that was supposed have paella (on website menu) but didn't. Found Don Camaron on Google. We ordered the Sopa de Pescado for starters. It was delicious! Make sure to order the large...you will want more. The paella was equally great. Loaded with savory bites of seafood. We were totally full by the end of the meal. Wish I had room for dessert! Definitely going back again.

Jacques B.

Yelp
Very bad experience. We ordered the whole snapper fried. It was overly cooked and dry. I never had a fish this bad. El peor pescado frito!!! Estaba reseco y recocinado. Te muestran unos pargos que están en display pero te dan un pescado congelado. Los otros son solo para exhibición. I asked for a small snapper. It was a bigger one. I couldn't finish it. $49 My friends ordered one to share $79. The only thing that was good was the yellow rice and brocolis. I will never go back to this restaurant.

Yelp
TO ALL BE AWARE..!!! Hello, I want to share a negative experience I had last week on 01/27/2023 while having lunch at "Don Camaron seafood restaurant" located in 9491 NW 77th Ct Hialeah Gardens, Fl 33016. I went for lunch and ordered a Sopon Marinero which cost $18.99. The waitress then asked me if I would like to add a lobster tail to the Sopon and it would be $31.95. After giving a thought I said: "ok go ahead". To me it sounds a little expense to have a Sopon Marinero for $32.00 but I accepted because I want it to have it. But when I got the bill, it was for $55.02. I got really worried and when asked the waitress why so much she said the lobster tail was $31.95 in addition of the $18.99 price of the Sopon. I got really upset for her tricky and deceit suggestion but I paid it so I could leave right away and go back to work. I have never paid so much money for a soup in any other place I had it before. I think is a rip off charging someone that amount of money. But worse is that She tricked me by the way she sounds like it was that by adding the tail it would be $31.95 like an extra added to the meal but that amount of money for the simple naked tail is a scam. I would never go back to that place again.

Yanira C.

Yelp
I went with my family and we loved it, thank you very much to Miss Gretel for the best service, we will be back soon

Marlen L.

Yelp

Caty D.

Yelp
I'm not a huge sea food fan but this place is 10/10! If you're visiting the area I highly recommend this place

Fernando R.

Yelp
What a great place for seafood and other latin dishes. Had the Chaufa rice (fried rice with shellfish) Best dish ever!!perfectly prepared! Very attentive service, all the staff are constantly walking by and always available which I really appreciated. Had a Sangria that almost put me to sleep!! Thie restaurant itself is very clean and the decor is very pleasant and tastefully done, While I was eating, I noticed that every dish that came out of that kitchen was done and prepared beautifully! Can't wait to try the other dishes! And the people that work here are very sweet ! It's a little bit out-of-the-way near the Palmetto expressway, but it is well worth the drive !!

Ocasio A.

Yelp
Went to lunch today and asked for snapper filet grilled, tostones and yellow rice I could not finish to eat the snapper, the filet did not taste as snapper. Tasted like farm fish and the skin was gray color, so definitely not snapper I will never go back to this place Terrible

Norma C.

Yelp
The quality of the food is not that great and way over priced I got surf and turf the lobster was good but $57 for the plate. The decor needs more moderation and flies outside as you are eating. The sangria wasn't strong at all the picture was $19. Overall it's okay not best seafood I've ever eaten.

China L.

Yelp
Food is awful, service is good, ambiance is mediocre. This place needs renovation asap

Sabina B.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped in for a quick lunch. The servers were nice and polite even with our limited communication; I don't speak Spanish well and they don't speak English. Food was meh. I had the Jalea which was filled with calamari and few pieces of both fish and shrimp. The breading was bland. Even the red onion topping, Salsa Criolla, lacked flavor. Hubby ordered chicken but it ended up being chicken fingers. The paper menu read "Pollo y Papas fritas" which is chicken and French fries. I think they should describe that better. Overall, not impressed. I'll drive a little farther to eat in Doral.

Cheryl S.

Yelp
Craving a whole grilled or fried snapper I decided to try Don Camaron and I'm pleased with the taste of the fried snapper! The snapper was 3.3 lbs @ $20 per lb so be prepared to spend and or share a nice BIG piece of fish. We also did rice and beans and sweet plantains which were good. Conch fritters were good.

Samar R.

Yelp
I always passed by this place on the 826 and never in my life did I ever think I would dine here and find the food good. It wasn't bad! I just wish they had better sides. I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi with yellow rice and veggies. I don't like that vegetable Normandy mix. I only know that it's even called Normandy from when my elementary school would announce "normandy" vegetables over the morning announcements when they would announce the lunch for the day. lol As you can see from my photos, my fish was grilled perfectly! The rice was really good too. The restaurant was VERY clean. Polite staff. Their menu has many great options too... just the selection of sides needs more variety.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Oh dear....service without a smile, all the staff looked and appeared miserable. Three people dealt with my, the miserable lady who showed me to my seat, the server and then the gentleman who brought my food. So service was sad, I also asked for mayonnaise," sure" he said, and I just KNEW it would not come for my fries and I was right! I came on Wednesday for a quick lunch stop. I ordered the lunch special of fish tacos with a side order of fries...and boy were the two tacos small. I left hungry. The price was good, or so I thought if 6 dollars but you have to order a drink for this price, so I ordered a glass of white wine which bumped the price to around 16 dollars, which now is over priced for what I got. The tacos albeit small looked nice, delivered with the flavours, but we're also cold. the French fried were in my opinion a little under done. I doubt I will go out of my way to visit again, make my down to the miserable staff.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
Ordered on UberEats. Food was fresh and good for take out. The DC tacos is fried ceviche so it was perfect little fried fish bites with a good seasoning. Everything was good.

Lacy S.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was awesome. They speak both Spanish and English. Service was amazing. They ensure I was taken care of.

Harry A.

Yelp
Noticed I never wrote a review for the first time I visited this place. Don Cameron has treated me good both times I visited . The first time visiting I had the fish tacos. They were decent, the limeonade was fire. Second time coming around I ordered a fried tilapia fillet and it was delicious. I'll have to come back and try other dishes.

Holly A.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We will for sure be back. My boyfriend and I had a lunch to remember. We were greeted and guided to our seats presented with menus and left to make our selections. Our server was attentive and friendly not super speedy or all that attentive but we certainly didn't feel rushed either. For our appetizer we ordered fried calamari and our lunch entrees were seafood rigatoni and grilled grouper but wait that's not all...you have got to try the coconut pineapple rum cake. It is all Things good in the world. Service was great Food flavorful and presented beautifully Plenary of parking Outdoor patio dining Cute outside bar seating Food prices are fare and worth every penny Fresh seafood

Marden C.

Yelp
This place was one of those little finds that just makes you glad to have gotten lost. Don Camaron is a great seafood place in the middle of Hialeah, any dish on the menu will make your taste buds happy. All dishes are cooked to perfection, season just right to enhance the natural delicious flavors only seafood has. Portions are very generous and the prices are budget friendly. Place is clean, beautifully decorated, great atmosphere and best of all great, friendly service.

Elba C.

Yelp
Being a loyal customer at Don Camaron in Hialeah Gardens, I do understand that businesses are trying to recover but, it is very unfair to punish your guest to pay the price. It is unconsibible to be charge for lemon wedges when I spend over $200 weekly or more at your restaurant. The manager was called, she was very pleasant and explained that the price for lemons are 10Xs higher and it was the owner's fault. I think I will take a big break from this restaurant.

Jose V.

Yelp
I had the fish ceviche and the mix ceviche and they both were excellent also had the fish bowl It was very good great place to have lunch fast and well taken care of waitresses were great l highly recommended

Angelica G.

Yelp
This was my first time at Don Camarón, and let me tell you the food was really good and tasty Size plates were rather big. Mojito was strong. And service was good. If you like Cuban music, they have a small club scene on the weekends on the outside porch area. Inside is more family oriented- nothing crazy. They have no reservations, it is a first come first serve basis.

Barry L.

Yelp
Good !!! I really enjoyed everything. Ate there twice while I was in town. I am aware of how many characters I need to write Yelp.

Grace Anely N.

Yelp
This place the food is really good . The reason I'm giving 1 start is cause the service is horrible , the waitress is so dry, she brought us water , and got lost , had to ask another waiter for straws, second time my husband asked for utensils never showed up . She was talking the whole time with some other customers, we literally had to wait until she finished chatting (10mins) to bring the silverware, while our food was getting cold . It looks like this people really hates their jobs . Ain't coming here again .!

Vanessa M.

Yelp
This is one of those restaurants for me that you drive by almost everyday and say "I need to go there," but never make time and SOOOOOO I HAD TIME! This place is always full (which is a great thing) they even have live music in the front deck area which is so fun for a date night, especially since this is a Latin restaurant ( can I get an AMEN from all my Hispanics ) LOL who am I! Anyway.. let's talk service, a little slow, they should have more waiters but with a little wave they always make their way. The restaurant is very family friendly, you see tables of 8+ sometimes! And my favorite party... F O O D These stuffed tostones with shrimp - Oh-em-gee, I'm dreaming of them l right now! It was so delicious! Cheesy and crunchy, ugh so good. The fish croquettes with the tarter sauce was YUM-AZING !!! I did not like sharing that night :( And lastly, the seafood paella (it had oysters, calamari, scallops, shrimp, clams and octopus) they really don't skimp out on anything!!!! I honestly NEED to go back (for reals this time lol) 11/10 @ladietacomienzamanana

Maria C.

Yelp
Yusnay our server was amazing, the service we received was second to none, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect! We were able to choose our snapper and it was cooked to perfection. We definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back next time we are in town!

Lina P.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place from the service to the food excellent food I ordered the shrimp bowl and the shrimp cream soup everything was excellent clean nice atmosphere loved it and I can't wait to go back!!!!

Shari L.

Yelp
I had a very upsetting experience. I definitely got scammed. I bought a whole fish and asked for it to be cleaned, deboned and filleted. I even tipped. I spent 43 dollars on the fish. The older man wrapped it in paper so I didn't see what was done. I said in Spanish (although I am not a native) if he removed the spine and the head and tail and if he filleted the fish. He said yes numerous times. I live over an hour away and when I unwrapped the fish nothing was done other than descaling it. He knew exactly what I was asking and lied to my face. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the fish store and they acted like they didn't understand what I was saying in SPANISH! Left me on hold to just give up and hang up. I just wanted to tell the man how disappointing it was to treat someone like that who has come many times from far away over the years. Very disheartening to know someone would get joy out of being deceitful to a paying customer who did nothing wrong! Shame on you all!

Mimi P.

Yelp
Service and food was mediocre. The waitress was not attentive , didn't help with the menu. Seems like she hates her job. The drinks were terrible, they couldn't make the drink my husband wanted because they ran out of rum. He went with some mango drink they had and it was terrible, my drink was deep blue sea with some cheap liquor. In regards to the food , my husband did say the oysters were pretty good . However, our entrees were not ! My husbands fish was dry and hard, my shrimp with garlic had no taste. Safe to say we won't be retuning.

Amy S.

Yelp
We have driven by multiple time and always say we are going to stop... today was the day. In the rain, we made the run for the door where we were immediately greeted and seated. The menu is bright and inviting with many interesting fish and seafood choices. Some were unique and I was unsure exactly what they were. My usual option is to ask for guidance. This was difficult as our server spoke NO English. We couldn't even order drinks without her finding assistance. Service turned into a tag team effort with others having to translate for her and deliver the responses. After we were finally able to order, the food arrived quickly and was very delicious. Multiple servers checked on us to be sure we had what we needed while our server occasionally checked for nods. I like this place but fall back to one of my personal gripes with Miami. I was born and raised here but do not speak Spanish. I really don't feel I should be forced to learn a second language in my hometown. Hate me if you like but that's how I feel. I have no problem with people being bi-lingual but don't force it on me in my own backyard.

Elo M.

Yelp
Has alot of good reviews ima have to stop at this spot and try it out since it's local and sounds good

Edith W.

Yelp
We loved it here. The fish and seafood are super fresh. We ordered several dishes and we loved the all.. 100 % recommended

J S.

Yelp
I had gone to the original on 37th avenue many years ago before moving out of town. I recently came to Miami for a visit and decided to stop for lunch at this location off the Palmetto. I was aware of the lunch menu but was only given the regular one and when asked about the Fish and Rice for lunch, was told that I could still order it from the regular menu, which costs a lot more. I still asked the waitress to please bring me the lunch one. I then ordered the Fish & Rice which I considered it good and my wife ordered the Camarones al Ajillo which she liked very much. The conch fritters were good too. I would have given an extra star but couldn't after what I perceived was a slick move to get me to pay for lunch at dinner price. So, if you show from 11 to 4, be sure to ask for the lunch menu, it is shorter but with decent options.

Karen G.

Yelp
The food was really good, extensive menu, and the service was fast despite having a full house! Only down side would be the flies all over in dining room, I'm not sure how they got in since no window was open but I understand that it's hard not to gravitate flies when you have fresh seafood. My only guess is that the kitchen door is probably left open and makes me wonder how many flies are in there compare to the dining room hahah (I'm serious though). Moving on to the food, we ordered two soups: the shrimp one which is the yellow base sadly too much flour making it super thick. The clam chowder was better. My only real issue with the soups was the bitter aftertaste, although I'm a fan of garlic too much garlic can back fire... I mean TOO much garlic because I use ALOT of garlic at home and have never gotten to the point where my food has a weird aftertaste... let's hope it's the garlic at this point! Despite the weird aftertaste my favorite was the clam chowder as it was lighter. We ordered the jalea which didn't come with a sauce making it EXTREMELY dry. We also ordered the ceviche tacos which was my favorite and is the reason I'm coming back here soon!!!! Three tacos perfect portions if you order the soup as a starter. Overall the food quality was fresh and enjoyed the atmosphere minus the flies. The garlic shrimp was too salty- not their strong dish. Ordered two sodas, bill came out to 83 including 18% tip! Fairly cheap for 3 people.

Mercy A.

Yelp
Nice seafood restaurant in Hialeah next to Walmart with live music daily. Great price for Oysters both 1/2 dz and dozen. This place isn't for people allergic to seafood because everything is cooked in the same grill/fryer as the seafood is & they will not make an exception. You'll have to eat a Burger or Chicken sandwich or a side dish. Love the dessert menu good amount for price paid and don't forget the cortadito when done. For groups of 8 or more gratuity is included on bill.

Aura A.

Yelp
This was a great choice! We have not been here in many many months. My husband wanted whole fish and this location showed up! He ordered whole fried Pargo with tostones. I had The Shrimp Volcano ! So much Flavor! Everything was so fresh- from the chopped cilantro, tomatoes and onion topping his fish to the seafood itself! I highly recommend this location. We were the first ones here and it quickly filled up! Dont let its location deter you!

Juan M.

Yelp
If you're going to order take out beware check your food we've been here several times and the food quality has deteriorated rapidly the staff is unprofessional the food was cold and old beware.

Claudia Z.

Yelp
We come here a lot of time and I do a review really good in google time ago. But today the server is the worst. The server didnt even ask if the food was good she send a guy to pick up the plates I call the girl ina blue shirt (I think the manager) because we want to leave an pay and the only think she say was I will call you server. Reallynisbthat a manager job?

Adolfo G.

Yelp
I wasn't too happy with our food! I always enjoy eating there but this time we took it home and the food was terrible!!! The fish was over cooked and the other plate was full of sauce with no sea food!

Dee B.

Yelp
We saw this restaurant on the west side of 826 off Okeechobee exit in Hialeah Gardens on our way home to Broward. We had fresh tilapia and salmon with shrimp dishes, both were very good, grilled just right. The fried calamari rings appetizer was also good. The tostones were ok. There were TV's everywhere. We did not go to to the market section, regrettably. It was very family friendly and our waitresses were AWESOME! It was a very pleasant dining experience. For two entrees, an appetizer a side of tostones and two drinks it was about $50 bucks with a tip.

Carmen W.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place now for awhile. The food was excellent. Great flavor and presentation. The bacalao fritters were delicious and the salmon was tender and wonderful too. Here's why I am giving it 2 stars. The service was terrible. The hostess doesn't even welcome you. She tells you to go find a spot to sit. Not one server introduced herself or looked happy to be working. No smiles whatsoever. I was literally dreading every time we needed a refill, a napkin or anything. They never checked on our table to see if we needed anything. I have never seen staff so dry. For the first time ever I will not be leaving a tip. This is a sign of improper management with no training whatsoever. Not to mention a complete shock to the hospitality that we are used to within our Spanish community.

Maria T.

Yelp
First time here and my family and I came because of a great review from friend. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The service given to us by server Alejandro was also exceptional! I highly recommend the Lobster Thermidor the Paella and The seafood stew / sopon marinero. Also the dishes are of good sharing size portion.

Madeline P.

Yelp
Everything was ok except our waitress at table 2 Yuleidy. Awful rude, inattentive. No water refill. No checking if we needed anything. Just rude and lazy !

Vanessa R.

Yelp
I live really close to this restaurant, and I never actually made an effort to come and try it out. Bad mistake. I came here on a Sunday after a beach day, so it was probably around 6PM. There was a ton of people sitting outside listening to the live music, drinking beers, and having a good time. We decided to sit inside since that environment was too loud for what I was in the mood for. I ordered the stuffed tostones- those come with shrimp and cheese and they were delicious. Not too greasy, and just the right size. I had the fish fillet, yellow rice and plantains as my entrée. I honestly do not remember what type of fish I had, but it was really food, and tasted fresh. Ask them to bring you their tomatoes with onions and lemon juice, it goes great with the fish. The beers were BOGO free, so we definitely took advantage of that. Since then, I have made my way back here a couple of times for lunch--everything is always fresh and delicious. No complaints at all!

Catherine E.

Yelp
I have never been more satisfied eating in a restaurant, assistance is amazing food always delicious Mar y Tierra , Paella and Churrasco are my top picks everything in the menu is delicious though no doubt !!!
