Don Cuco Mexican Grill is amazing! The food is fresh, tasty, and comes in big portions. The staff is super friendly and the service is fast. The restaurant has a nice, welcoming vibe, perfect for family or friends. Highly recommend! 🌮🍹

Google
Everything from this place was perfect. The atmosphere, the food, it made me feel like I wasn't in burbank anymore. Just the service was a bit annoying. They're on you almost every minute and it's not just one servant its multiple employees coming to you. Can't even enjoy eating the food and talking to your friends. Also the second your plate is empty they instantly come and take your plate. They don't even give you a chance to breath. I just think they need to tone down the service a bit and let people take in all the beautiful decorations, atmosphere and especially the food.

Food and atmosphere were fine. Service was also good considering our large group. Conversation was challenging because of the noise levels but mood was festive.

We checked out this Mexican restaurant for the first time and were really impressed with how attentive the staff were. Everyone was friendly and checked on us often, which we appreciated. The only downside on the service side was that things felt a little rushed — since it was our first time, we would’ve liked a bit more time to settle in and look over the menu. I ordered a mango margarita and was given a frozen one without being asked. It wasn’t a huge deal, but I usually prefer it on the rocks and didn’t realize there were options. For my meal, I went with the camarones al mojo de ajo, and unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The presentation wasn’t great — the rice had melted cheese on top, which felt out of place, and the sauce tasted kind of canned. The shrimp had a strong taste and an aftertaste that lingered more than I would’ve liked. It wasn’t totally inedible, just not something I’d order again — especially at that price point. Overall, the staff were great and the service was solid, but the food left me a bit disappointed. I might give it another try down the line and order something different.

Good place to get some Mexican food. Checked out this place for my daughter’s birthday. The server was awesome. They serve you fresh tortillas chips when you are seated. We ordered a few appetizers and food for the kids. The tacos are good but I was not too crazy about the fajitas. The place is poorly lit and it’s hard to read the menu but they have a huge choice of food. I hear the drinks are great but I don’t drink. There is this cool fountain in the place which is interesting. The folks came out and sang happy birthday in front of our daughter. She wore this huge sombrero which was cool. Over all it was a good visit.

We use to love dining at Cucos. Last night 8/1/25 we sat at the bar had margaritas and ordered the steak/chicken Fajitas @$26 they bring the meal on much smaller skillet which held 2 strips of each meat and onions with one tiny slice of bell pepper. They have raised their prices and serving maybe at best half the normal size of Fajitas. I give a 3 star only the drinks and bar tender were good

Google
I've been a customer for many years now. Always have received great service and delicious food. I can testify the 3 seafood tacos, lobster enchiladas, and all chicken/beef enchiladas are great. I prefer black beans over refried, so I appreciate getting those, along with tasty rice and fresh salad or warm enchilada soup.

Love this place. I've been here about 4 times with my family and it never disappoints. Came here Friday evening and the atmosphere was so nice as always. Bathrooms are super clean, friendly staff and great tasting food with good size portions. I ordered the steak Milanesa(beef) and it was so tender and delicious.

Yelp
I came back here yesterday with my wife to join her family for dinner. We got seated pretty quick for a party size of 8 people and 1 baby. We were seating in the back close to where you can see the person making the handmade tortillas. It been a while since we came here and the red lights inside of this restaurant still bothers me. My wife got their enchiladas and I got the steak a la diabla with fries. Our food came out at a reasonable time since everyone food came out together. My wife loves her enchiladas and I thought the steak with the diabla sauce was better than the carne when I last had it here. The sauce really helped give the steak more flavor and it wasn't too spicy. The fries were well seasoned and delicious. Since I'm a new dad to a baby girl, it was great to see that there a changing station in the men's bathroom here. The customer service here was amazing and they kept checking up with us to make sure we were happy.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a long time, it took a while to try it because it didn't look like a big deal from the outside and sure enough this place proved that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Even though the outside look is kind of boring but the inside is a complete different vibe, the atmosphere and the decor is very authentic and unique, the details and everything looked amazing. the food came out super fast and also did not disappoint, it was what you exactly expect at a high end Mexican restaurant , they make their own tortillas which is a plus, and the margaritas were delicious Our server was super friendly and funny, unfortunately i didn't get his name and the prices were very reasonable I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Don Cuco is one of my to go restaurants when I go to Burbank Mall. Food is always good, food portions are big and you feel full after finishing. There is indoor and outside seating area. There are couple of tables outside, if you prefer seat outside. Inside can be dark so it's better to watch your steps. Service is usually good. They are attending and bring the food usually within 10 to 15 of minutes ordering.

Yelp
We decided to hit up Don Cuco's because it's been years since we've been here. Love the dimly lit, romantic vibe they have here. I didn't have bear with me because we didn't expect to eat here. Because it was Happy Hour, we had the Patron Skinny Margarita and another cocktail made with Patron. It was DELICIOUS! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. He was awesome and everything was served and refilled throughout our dinner. I forgot how wonderful the service and food was because it's been over five years since we've visited. Definitely before we got married. Because of the romantic vibe, this'll be one of our date night spots! The music and the decor create such a romantic vibe. We had some Guacamole with our chips and salsa. Man, does their salsa rock, too. You'll want to eat it on everything. Today, we tried the Shrimp Yucatan and the Carnitas. Both entrees were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The rice and beans were fantastic. I'm so glad they don't serve refried beans. The hubby said it tasted just like this aunt's beans. My hubby loved the Carnitas, too. He couldn't stop talking about how tender and juicy it was. You get a choice of soup or salad with your meal and he chose the salad and I had the comforting Albondigas soup. ¡la sopa de albondigas estaba deliciosa! ¡Todo estuvo maravilloso! All I can think of was my mother-in-law because her food tastes just as delicious. We were going to order the Queso Fondido but thought we had enough food to eat so it was a blessing we didn't. We decided we'll have that the next time we visit. All in all, it was a great experience and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I got a gift card for my birthday because I was told this is where the locals go! When we came back to SoCal in December, we took our friends out to dinner for a post holiday get together. Best decision ever!! - I love the holiday decor!!! - The food and drinks are amazing!! - Good service! - great for groups and date night. - They don't take rest so plan accordingly. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait long. I am looking forward to our next visit when we're in the Burbank area!!

Yelp
I like this restaurant. I always have. The service is generally good. The restaurant is nice and cozy. The reason I'm giving two stars is because i ordered a chicken burrito and it had pork mixed in. I don't eat pork. I got a quarter of the way into the burrito when i found all this ham. This is the point where we didn't see the server again for quite a while. Pork wasn't listed on the menu, obviously. When the server eventually showed up, she server said "you didn't say you don't eat pork." I told her that i didn't think i needed to explain i don't eat pork when ordering a chicken dish and it's not listed in the description on the menu. She wasn't ugly about it, and now i know i need to be more careful about things not listed being included in my food.

Yelp
Great food, fast service and pretty good price. Worth going to. Also large quantities.

Yelp
Great casual Mexican food and margaritas. Fun vibes and easy parking at the public lot next door. They served us fairly quickly and offered a flan and song as we were celebrating as birthday.

Yelp
I came here for dinner, and the food was ok at best. The service was fine, but what really disturbed me was the bill. The "suggested" amount for gratuity were much higher than they should be. Granted, had the food been amazing and the service exceptional, I would have gladly tipped a higher percentage. I used to work in the food industry. This can be easily fixed. Do better!

Yelp
Went to Don Cuco in Downtown Burbank on a recent Taco Tuesday. The good thing about this area is that parking is free but it may take some time to find a space. We parked in the nearby structure and made our way down. I went with Taquitos Rancheros ($12.95) & chose the shredded beef. You get 4 flour tortilla taquitos with melted cheese on top that is served with spanish rice & refried beans. It also comes with sour cream and guacamole. This dish was good and getting 4 taquitos instead of a lesser amount was good. The rice was tasty and you get a good portion. The refried beans were decent. I would order again. The lady got a chicken enchilada dinner ($14.95) that comes with spanish, rice, beans and slices of avocados. She liked her order... We were offered soup or salad with our entrees and both chose albondigas soup. It was tasty. Perfect for the cooler weather. Also ordered were a cocktail and lemonade. Service was good and our waiter checked in on us every now & again. We were sat in the front section in a big booth. It is dark in that section. I could've used a flashlight to make out parts of the menu. I had one on me but did not. Haha.... Fresh chips and salsa are brought to your table as soon as you sit down. We would go again for happy hour or dinner when craving Mexican food.

Yelp
Let's cut strait to it Time: 2pm ish Food - average Service - average Ambiance - awesome! Let me explain - the outside seating is a cool little vibe especially in Burbank with all the different stores around. Beautiful and clean up there. But when we walked up we were unsure if we were to walk in or wait outside because there were bussers outside serving up chips to other customers but they didn't mention anything and in fact they looked at us like we were lost haha. It was actually two other customers that were regulars who told us that we have to go inside first. So we did! The host wasn't the most welcoming and seemed like she didn't want to be there but we were seated promptly. Upon being seated we were given menus and chips and salsa which was nice. Chips were fresh and the salsa was perfect. With regards to our waiter - he was definitely helpful once he helped us but the couple who got there at the same time as us was helped with drinks and their food before we even placed our order. Maybe because they were regulars they got preferential treatment - but usually you take someone's drink orders and go help the next customers and then round back to take orders that way everything is even, orderly, and your bartender and kitchen staff don't have everything all at once (I'm a floor manager so that's what we do) but again - it wasn't bad - it was just inefficient and noticeable. And again, once our waiter helped us, he was regular in coming to check in on us and make sure we're ok. The bussers were efficient in coming to clear the table and get more chips too so that was good. I ordered the Tostada Del Mar which was pretty flavorless aside from the sauces and even the sauces wasn't the greatest. Like I said, it wasn't worth coming back, but it wasn't bad. It was a decent meal. Mom ordered the tamale and cheese enchilada and her first reaction was "not much flavor huh?!" Haha so again - pretty basic. I think you can get away with the flavors up in Burbank because customers don't really know any better but that's my opinion. I've just had more flavor in a street taco than here. Plus the prices were way steep for this flavor of food. But again- in Burbank you can get away with that The best tasting thing that they brought out was the guacamole for the chips. I also ordered a Pacifico on draft with a shot of patron which was very nice and the pour was generous. Now the ambiance and decor was top notch! It was beautiful in there and you felt like you were in another world with all the decorations. Great for pictures for sure. It would be a cool time coming with buddies and having drinks but that's about it in my opinion. So - enter at your own discretion haha

Yelp
The food was fantastic, the service was out of this world, and the atmosphere was so beautiful. Our server, Nori, was so thoughtful to recommend another place when they didn't have the dish I was looking for on the menu.

Yelp
A stalwart in the Burbank restaurant scene. Has been around for decades and it's easy to see why it has lasted this long. This location is in downtown Burbank right next to a large public parking lot. Each time we've come the service is fast and friendly and food is delivered quickly. The decor inside is a bit on the darker side, though plays into the ambiance of the restaurant. The prices are fair for the portion sizes and the chips/salsa they bring before the meal hits the spot. Just enough kick, though I'm sure many people would like it spicier. A great place to get some solid food when in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious, drinks were strong, and the service was great! The inside is super cute. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered delivery. Got everything (combo fajitas with beef chicken and shrimp, with beans and rice, salad with dressing and chips with salsa) but the dessert. We were excited about the flan custard, but we didn't receive it....... even though we paid for it
google avatar

Yelp
Food and drinks are always so good. But why do they always rush you out? I have been coming here several times a month for years and it doesn't matter what time of the day, they will hover over your table and rush you out. Can't relax w friends and a drink. If you want relaxation, go elsewhere.
google avatar

Grethel M.

Yelp
Excellent Food! I came to celebrate a birthday and the service was the Best! I loved the ambiance very much! A very Mexican ambiance with the music too
google avatar

A. Z.

Yelp
The food was not good at all. It came out less than 7 min after we ordered which tells me it wasn't fresh. The salad dressing was rancid and both my mother and I got sick from this place. I also hate that the lighting inside is red. You can't see your food and it reminds me of a brothel.
google avatar

Tally S.

Yelp
Love Don cuco. I love how the combo comes with soup, I love the tortilla soup. Also loved the ranchero burrito!

Sherlin Y.

Yelp
Great food! Beef burrito was amazing!!!! Shrimp was ok. Overall great food will come back!

Yelp
Food was good and fast. I love hot food and this came to your table nice and hot.. the beans and rice were very authentic. The waiters and helpers were excellent never let our drinks get empty we had water and ice tea. The ambiance was relaxing we sat and and talked for awhile and they never rushed us....
google avatar

Nijole T.

Yelp
Fun family restaurant. I deal for out of towners and get together, this is perfectly gaudy and kitschy Mexican food at its finest. The cocktails were overly sweet, light on the alcohol, pass on those. The crispy tacos were delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals as well. Portions are generous, and the staff is always very friendly.
google avatar

Tawnie T.

Yelp
The ambience is great for large family gathering. Also intimate enough for date night. Old school typo of place. Menu is decent with lots of options. We came for drinks and tacos and ended up getting fish entrees and shrimp cocktails. Size portions are good with plantains as well. I enjoyed it and would recommend this place for a nice family dinner. Or even quiet date night.
google avatar

Adam R.

Yelp
Hector @ Don Cuco creates an authentic Mexican experience. He invites and guides you to the rich flavors of traditional dishes, coupled with a vibrant atmosphere and attentive service, make it a standout destination for quality Mexican food.
google avatar

Yelp
Endless possibilities that caters to any size appetite and any preference. Carnivores, herbivores unite. Don Cucos has been serving the Burbank area for years. The extensive menu had a wide variety of specialties, basics and staples in Mexican cuisine. From combinations, a la carte and plates. Prices range and most dishes are under $20.00. A great destination for date night, family dinners, parties or even to go orders. I ordered a plate with grilled chicken breast topped with sautéed onions nestled next to some spanish rice and a bowl of pinto beans. It was served with a small bowl of meatball soup. The best soup I have ever had. Street parking is available or you can use the structure. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place! Ordered a vegetarian burrito, asked to make sure there was no meat since I am a strict vegetarian for years. Service was super slow which I was ok with since it seemed very crowded . After almost 30 min , food arrived and I bit into my burrito and got a mouth full of ground beef . This is not ok ! waiter took it away and said sorry , they must have put the wrong one on the plate . After another 15 min and honestly feeling sick and a loss of appetite, the vegetarian arrived after my dining companions were pretty much done with their food . Needless to say , I had no appetite by then and they asked if they could box it up . No manager asked me how I was or offered anything as i waited for my actual food . They did take the burrito off the bill which didn't really matter since it wasn't consumed, but nothing else was said or done. I really thought this could be handled better. I won't return here.

Yelp
I don't want to be a gate keeper buuuuuuttt!! We Highly recommend this place!! We love coming here. Great place to have an afternoon of fun and chill time of great drinks and great times with apps and then some. We forgot how awesome this place was. Came here years ago prior to COVID. We decided to just drop by for some drinks... Our server, Miriam, is Aaaawwsome! And then some!! :) such Great customer service! Amazing personality and stupendous people skills!! She is genuinely pleasant, without being overbearing and friendly; very amiable! She greeted us with gusto which made us more excited to be in her service. We were initially planning on just having one drink but ended up staying much longer with more drinks and apps than we planned. We enjoyed conversing with each other and the stories we shared. Her authentic personality is encouraging! The juxtaposition between Miriam and the front "greeters" were astounding. The so called "greeters" /hosts weren't as welcoming and cordial as a host should be. We just weren't as impressed with the girls that were placed in the front, although, they may be, socially "popular", their personalities and demeanor were drier than the competitor's masa!!! Not a good way to start one's experience/meal. On another note, Miriam had a very amiable and approachable personality; very warm and friendly! Miriam more than made up for the fronts' service (or lack thereof) and their shortcomings. The drinks and food were great!! Definitely hits a punch!!! But it's always the people who make the biggest impact. Don't want to just base our whole experience on the front, because the rest of staff were actually awesome! They were efficient and helped with each other. The shrimp cocktail we had was delicious! The cocktail "soup" was like a delicious Mexican version akin to a gazpacho! Truly enjoyed our drinks and meal here. Our drinks were delicious and complemented our food. We got to the place just before the start of their dinner rush and it was great enjoying our drinks while they people watching. Overall, we are coming back here!! Especially with when Miriam is around! (Just need to figure out what those times are). Complements to the staff, chef and bartender!

Yelp
Very dissapointed today because I ordered a well done steak. I specifically told my waiter that I dont like my meat rare at all. I also told him that the last time I came here I ordered the steak well done and it was rare inside. I then cut a small piece to take a bite and long and behold the meat inside was very red. I then called my waiter and he didn't even apologize. Customer service is so important to me. A small apology would have made a big difference! Oh well I guess customers are not important here,
google avatar

Patty A.

Yelp
Considering the price, portion is not in the expectation of the client, flavor wise needs improvement. Place is too dark for my taste. Disappointed, and sad.

Robert R.

Yelp
Food was great always is service was great even though it was Cinco de Mayo going back tonight
google avatar

Nichole G.

Yelp
Our server tonight was Miriam . She was so nice and welcoming . Explained the dishes to us very well , as well as recommended some dishes which were so good . The guy at the front was also welcoming (we came just as they were preparing to close) . Service was fast and overall 10/10 . We come here often now cause it's my little brothers favorite place for wings . Would always continued to recommend this place

Jose C.

Yelp
Service was good. Food was not good at all. I ordered some flautas and I got 7/11 taquitos. The only thing good and fresh was the guac on my plate. Would I come back? No. Ambiance was great and authentic but food wasn't.
google avatar

Eloy G.

Yelp
Visited Don Cuco while working a street down from this establishment and so glad I found some decent good Mexican food in the area. I had the mole enchiladas and they were on point and had good flavor along with the rice and beans. Customer service was good and overall a good and pleasant dining experience and would definitely eat here again. Ambiance was nice and a bit dark (lighting) and almost old Hollywood dim/dark where you can really see who's around because of the Low lighting.
google avatar

Aries A.

Yelp
Service was great, food was amazing and the drinks were strong but a good strong and the price wasn't bad either

Yelp
Mariam! Absolute star of the show! So sweet and really knows her stuff! She is so knowledgable on the menu , and is very personable! So happy to have met her! The environment is fun and the restaurant is so beautiful! Thank you so much Mariam!!!

Yelp
I visited here a few weeks ago and here's what I thought. Parking is not convenient in this area but sometimes you get lucky. The restaurant is at least close to the public parking structure so that's a plus. They have outdoor seating as well as inside. Ambiance was nice, I was seated near the bar. Lighting was kind of dim like mood lighting. I had a strawberry blended margarita and it was pretty huge but not strong, could have used more tequila and that's coming from a light weight. Free chips and salsa, this was very good. Hot chips and yummy, not spicy fresh salsa. I ordered the 3 way fajitas, chicken, shrimp and steak. The shrimp was delightful and tasty, but the chicken and steak was just ok. The mixture of veggies was very good. The refried beans (cheese on top) and red rice was delicious. The chicken tortilla soup in a cup was good but could have used a lot more cheese. I had 0 room for dessert and had to pack half my food to go. I feel like this plate could have been shared if you don't come starving. Overall, good first experience, the server was very nice and attentive. Next time I'd like to try their version of the Mexican pizza, the pics looked enticing.
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
This restaurant has a great ambience. I also love that their meals come with a soup or salad. The chips and salsa were really good as well. The food itself was pretty average. Not good or bad. I didn't particularly like my meal, but I also ordered chicken and was given shredded beef. But I did enjoy the experience and the atmosphere. I would go back. It's a nice place to just relax and unwind.
google avatar

Katherine R.

Yelp
Food is good, served in a decent amount of time. Cute atmosphere and for people all of ages, -1 star because the server was not really attentive or friendly.
google avatar

Anthony G.

Yelp
It's taco Tuesday so of course Trixie wanted a skinny margarita and a chicken taco so we went to her favorite spot Don Cuco's It was awesome as usual especially the all-time famous bartender name. Olegario he was amazing we definitely come back on another taco Tuesday the ambience was relaxing and perfectly lit for a night of margaritas
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
The service is great! The staff is all very sweet and friendly. But the food tasted okay decent, my taquito plate were room temperature as well as my friends. It seems like the burritos are the only thing made fresh because it was extremely hot when my other friend received his burrito which sucks because it's close to $20 a plate....

Laura M.

Yelp
I had tortilla soup and enchiladas and a side of guac. Guac was good. The rest of the food was super salty without a lot of flavor. Chips are greasy but crunchy and tolerable. Overall it was very expensive and not very good. I won't need to eat here again.0
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
I get delivery from here often but tonight was terrible. The shrimp cocktail was quite a bit smaller than in the past. And the chicken tortilla soup had no tortillas or cheese. I'm still hungry despite paying around $30.

Hector L.

Yelp
good customer service, but food it's so bad quality and over charged t the at I got food poisoned when went to hospital
google avatar

Yelp
We stop by here all the time when we head to the Dodger or Laker game!! great food and service! Atmosphere is great

Yelp
1st time at Don Cuco! Tried it for a colleague's b-day lunch on a weekday afternoon, and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Although the lighting inside the restaurant was really dim (it was hard to read the menu at times), the place had a casual ambiance and it didn't feel too cramped for our large group. I ordered the Milanesa with steak as the protein (crisp with potatoes underneath), and including black beans (in a bowl on the serving plate) and corn tortillas (came with 3 warm tortillas on the side). It was my 1st time trying a dish like this. Despite wishing I had more rice and guacamole, I did like the dish. Also, the wait staff were kind & attentive with our large party, which we were thankful for. Overall, not a bad experience at Don Cuco. However, compared to other Mexican restaurants in the Burbank, I'm unsure if I'd return to this one. We'll see in the future!

Yelp
6pm Thursday night. Excellent waiters. Great service by the boys/men. Food was decent. The bad part was the rude girls at the front. They stand around and when you ask a question they either ignore you or answer rudely. I passed one of the young girls where the bathroom was and she was extremely rude. Maybe I remind her of someone she doesn't like? She didn't treat my guest that way.
google avatar

Cheska E.

Yelp
Upon entering the restaurant you'll be welcomed by their festive decor and fun atmosphere. They serve traditional Mexican dishes since 1969. They have a pretty good variety in their menu. The food tasted authentic and delish. The Carne Asada was juicy and tender. I like their salsa, it was really flavorful. Certainly a great spot for happy hour or for celebrating special occasions. We definitely had a blast dining here, and shoutout to their attentive and accommodating servers.
google avatar

Dena G.

Yelp
Don Cuco in downtown Burbank served up the best fajitas that I've ever had! Chicken, state, and shrimp were all perfectly prepared. Succulent. The albondigas was hearty and flavorful. The margarita was strong and delicious. Service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and quick. This is my official go to place for fajitas from now on.

Yelp
From a Texas transplant: Classic TexMex that is consistently good. The staff is always so welcoming and the service efficient. I love that this location accepts reservations! We go at least two times a month to get our fix.
