Coming from Michigan I was really hoping for some authentic Texan Mexican cuisine, it was definitely different than the Mexican food I'm used to. Best I ever had? No. Worth it? Yes!
What I loved about this menu was that it has much more variety than I'm used to. Shrimp and seafood dishes with spicy sauces....more advanced carnitas and shredded pork dishes. Super sad I didn't try it. We got chips, salsa, queso, margaritas, steak fajitas and fish tacos that were all super yummy.
Margaritas were good! Decent size, less that $6, and a good tequila section - just one will give you a little buz for sure. Every meal comes with free chips, salsa and queso. The salsa tasted heavy with tomatoes, wasn't sweet or salty, very rich in vegetable flavor. It had a fresh out of the garden type of feel. The queso comes in a small cup, everyone gets their own little cup of queso and salsa. The queso is a light yellow, a tad bit watery but not overbearingly cheesy. I'm not a big cheese fan and this was the perfect balance for me! I got the fish tacos and holy cow was it good. They come in flour tortillas with a slice of an avocado, layered with a creamy green jalapeño sauce and the fish is battered. Crispy crunch and yummy!!!! Was extremely happy with my choice!
The fajitas you can get double, basically means it feeds two better than another order. Comes with pairings for you and the other person, two separate plates of fajita toppings and tortillas. Plenty of vegetables and lots of food for later.
Lots of seating, friendly staff and if it's your birthday or any special celebration you'll definitely get recognized by the staff. Small tables but the chips and salsa with free queso takes away from the little things. Limited parking but available lots across the street are open too.
