The hubby and I were staying at the Waldorf and stopped by Don Manuels a few times since it was more or less always open when we wanted something. Plus, due to my Hilton status I got free continental breakfast every day for two. We only took advantage of this the last two days.
The continental breakfast is fine - coffee, fruit, pastries, granola with yogurt, and cereal. All breakfasts come with fruit and pastries and you can choose between three things as your main - granola, cereal, oatmeal. The last day, we decided to upgrade to the buffet to see what they offered. Basically we had all the things included in a continental breakfast plus access to their hot food buffet - eggs, sausage, pancakes, soup, toast, etc. There was a made to order omelette station as well. Honestly, I'm glad I tried the upgrade, but Idk if it's worth $20 each. We really only had one scramble between us and a few things from the hot buffet. Not sure if that was worth $40.
The other two times were more lounge-y. After going to El Farallon, the hubs and I decided to grab some cigars. They had live music that night, so we just chilled, drank, and enjoyed the ambiance. The last visit was after we checked out as we had some time to kill before heading to the airport. Enjoyed one drink until our shuttle came to pick us up.
Service each time was awesome. The bartenders, servers, etc, are all so friendly and fun. Also attentive without being overly so. Our last breakfast, they were super sweet and sent us a special dessert / french toast for our birthdays.
One note, I would suggest paying in pesos if you are putting this on a fee free CC. The exchange rate is much better and you'll be paying less in the long run if you are from the US. I do wish they asked before giving you the bill if you'd rather pay in pesos or USD. I forgot to tell them that last time and ended up missing out on the extra savings.
A wonderful restaurant / lounge with amazing service.
