My husband’s friend and his son were visiting us so I asked him what they wanted for his first meal back in the States, he said, “Let’s go for Mexican food.” Now, Mexican cuisine isn’t exactly my specialty, and the restaurants I’ve saved are mostly bar-type places that don’t open until 5 p.m.
We were in HB area so he checked on Yelp and chose Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we saw a sweet elderly lady chatting with customers. Before they left, one of them even blew her a kiss! 😘 The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming.
The restaurant’s dining area is split into three sections, each with a different decor style. We were seated in the section behind the bar. If you have kids, they’ll bring a sheet with a parrot for coloring and a pack of four crayons—but the coloring sheet is actually the kid’s menu (we only realized that after we finished our meal ).
🌮 For lunch, we ordered the following specials
• #1 Super Deluxe Burrito
• #2 Tacos De Carne Asada
• #4 Marinated Chicken Tenders
• A lemonade for kid
The staff were all super friendly, checking in to make sure we enjoyed the food and asking if we needed anything else.
The portions were massive! We couldn’t finish, so we ended up packing everything to go.
And of course, I had to check out the restrooms! They were spotless, with an orchid placed on the sink and three paintings hanging outside. The overall decor was vibrant and distinctive.
Mexican food may not be my favorite, but the overall dining experience was great!
