Sesame a Tiny Bakery Will Land in Berkeley’s Pie Society Space | Eater SF

"After about 41 years in business, Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant in SoMa closed permanently on March 31; the Ramirez family, second-generation owners, said they couldn’t reach a rent agreement after the landlord allegedly raised the rent from $10,000 to $15,000, and in a message thanking customers they wrote that they fought long and hard to save the restaurant but ultimately couldn’t." - Dianne de Guzman

Don Ramon's is by far the best restaurant in Orange County. It's our favorite place to go. The quality is excellent, the staff is very friendly and attentive. They have lunch specials on Saturday, and offer a full menu all the time. Their salsa is also our favorite, I usually get more to take home. We have been going to Don Ramon's for a long time. They also have a great bean dip. Their new location on Edinger is really nice, plenty of parking and clean restrooms.

Convenient location. Staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurant is clean and food was delicious! I ordered Machaca and it is flavorful and not dry! Definitely returning here.

Visiting Huntington Beach to spend quality time with family. They proposed their favorite place and it didn’t disappoint. Table service was prompt to deliver menus, ice waters and cups with refills before being asked. That proactive approach makes the experience more wonderful. My companions ordered Mexican dishes and quality, quantity, and taste to meet or exceed expectations. I opted for a burger and found it quite good. The French fries were plentiful, warm, and tasty. A great job by the staff and reasonable prices deserves the high rating. The only challenge was the noise level

1st visit. The lunch menu is your basic Mexican food items. The prices were very good. Not affected by tarrifs YET. The chili verde wet burrito was very good. Nice chunks of tender pork. Good size. Brought home some so I wouldn't stuff myself. Will try the dinner menu next time

The bean dip and salsa with chips they bring out to start are delicious. The chips are warm and both dips are fantastic...just be careful not to fill up on them cuz the food is super good. The service is top notch. Both my wife and I commented that it seems that we don't see such attentive and numerous servers these days. The waiters were constantly checking our water, refilling the chips, making sure the food was good and clearing plates. We really enjoyed the food and the service!

My husband’s friend and his son were visiting us so I asked him what they wanted for his first meal back in the States, he said, “Let’s go for Mexican food.” Now, Mexican cuisine isn’t exactly my specialty, and the restaurants I’ve saved are mostly bar-type places that don’t open until 5 p.m. We were in HB area so he checked on Yelp and chose Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we saw a sweet elderly lady chatting with customers. Before they left, one of them even blew her a kiss! 😘 The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming. The restaurant’s dining area is split into three sections, each with a different decor style. We were seated in the section behind the bar. If you have kids, they’ll bring a sheet with a parrot for coloring and a pack of four crayons—but the coloring sheet is actually the kid’s menu (we only realized that after we finished our meal ). 🌮 For lunch, we ordered the following specials • #1 Super Deluxe Burrito • #2 Tacos De Carne Asada • #4 Marinated Chicken Tenders • A lemonade for kid The staff were all super friendly, checking in to make sure we enjoyed the food and asking if we needed anything else. The portions were massive! We couldn’t finish, so we ended up packing everything to go. And of course, I had to check out the restrooms! They were spotless, with an orchid placed on the sink and three paintings hanging outside. The overall decor was vibrant and distinctive. Mexican food may not be my favorite, but the overall dining experience was great! 📍 7148 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647

Huge plates of delicious food! The service was great for our party of 12. The decor added a fun Mexican flare. Our family has been eating at Don Ramons for years and have always loved it! Tonight I enjoyed a salad and my husband feasted on a shrimp burrito.
