Sesame a Tiny Bakery Will Land in Berkeley’s Pie Society Space | Eater SF

"After about 41 years in business, Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant in SoMa closed permanently on March 31; the Ramirez family, second-generation owners, said they couldn’t reach a rent agreement after the landlord allegedly raised the rent from $10,000 to $15,000, and in a message thanking customers they wrote that they fought long and hard to save the restaurant but ultimately couldn’t." - Dianne de Guzman

Don Ramon's is by far the best restaurant in Orange County. It's our favorite place to go. The quality is excellent, the staff is very friendly and attentive. They have lunch specials on Saturday, and offer a full menu all the time. Their salsa is also our favorite, I usually get more to take home. We have been going to Don Ramon's for a long time. They also have a great bean dip. Their new location on Edinger is really nice, plenty of parking and clean restrooms.

Convenient location. Staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurant is clean and food was delicious! I ordered Machaca and it is flavorful and not dry! Definitely returning here.

Visiting Huntington Beach to spend quality time with family. They proposed their favorite place and it didn’t disappoint. Table service was prompt to deliver menus, ice waters and cups with refills before being asked. That proactive approach makes the experience more wonderful. My companions ordered Mexican dishes and quality, quantity, and taste to meet or exceed expectations. I opted for a burger and found it quite good. The French fries were plentiful, warm, and tasty. A great job by the staff and reasonable prices deserves the high rating. The only challenge was the noise level

I’ve been going to Don Ramon’s for years when they were at the old location and now here at the new place. Love the food, my very favorite is the Chiles Rellenos and the Fajitas. The staff are very nice and friendly and just super people! And the new location is very nice and modern and has a nice bar area. They have Happy Hour specials in the bar area Tuesday through Thursday nights.

My husband’s friend and his son were visiting us so I asked him what they wanted for his first meal back in the States, he said, “Let’s go for Mexican food.” Now, Mexican cuisine isn’t exactly my specialty, and the restaurants I’ve saved are mostly bar-type places that don’t open until 5 p.m. We were in HB area so he checked on Yelp and chose Don Ramon’s Mexican Restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we saw a sweet elderly lady chatting with customers. Before they left, one of them even blew her a kiss! 😘 The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming. The restaurant’s dining area is split into three sections, each with a different decor style. We were seated in the section behind the bar. If you have kids, they’ll bring a sheet with a parrot for coloring and a pack of four crayons—but the coloring sheet is actually the kid’s menu (we only realized that after we finished our meal ). 🌮 For lunch, we ordered the following specials • #1 Super Deluxe Burrito • #2 Tacos De Carne Asada • #4 Marinated Chicken Tenders • A lemonade for kid The staff were all super friendly, checking in to make sure we enjoyed the food and asking if we needed anything else. The portions were massive! We couldn’t finish, so we ended up packing everything to go. And of course, I had to check out the restrooms! They were spotless, with an orchid placed on the sink and three paintings hanging outside. The overall decor was vibrant and distinctive. Mexican food may not be my favorite, but the overall dining experience was great! 📍 7148 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647

Google
1st visit. The lunch menu is your basic Mexican food items. The prices were very good. Not affected by tarrifs YET. The chili verde wet burrito was very good. Nice chunks of tender pork. Good size. Brought home some so I wouldn't stuff myself. Will try the dinner menu next time

Fantastic food ,service and atmosphere. A local favorite. The new location is great and easy to find. The service is friendly and attentive in every aspect. My favorite Mexican spot in OC.

Google
Huge plates of delicious food! The service was great for our party of 12. The decor added a fun Mexican flare. Our family has been eating at Don Ramons for years and have always loved it! Tonight I enjoyed a salad and my husband feasted on a shrimp burrito.

Yelp
It was one of the best Mexican places I ever had. Actually it is the best Mexican place I ever had. I loved the bean and cheese burritos . Also I loved the guacamole. That's my rating

Yelp
Don Ramon's located adjacent to Goldenwest College is your run of the mill, slightly elevated Mexican joint. Nothing special here, just good ol' classics and a nice offering of specials for their Mexican brunch. I came on a Sunday morning for brunch and was delighted to see so many options on their brunch menu, but their menu is quite expansive too so it has everything that anyone could want from a Mexican restaurant. The best thing about this place that stands out above the rest? I would say their complimentary chips and salsa... only because it also comes with warm homemade beans. The food was great, don't get me wrong, but those beans made me rethink my existence. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were just your average chilaquiles, nothing important. But I will say, their plating is impressive! Was pleasantly surprised when the food came around. Parking is plentiful and service ended up being kind and fast as well, the food had a little bit of a turn around after we ordered but I'd say it was worth the wait. Bottom line though? I wouldn't come here again for Mexican food unless it was for brunch. Its elevated Mexican food, but nothing a mom and pop Mexican place can't do better and cheaper.

Yelp
Don Ramon's is always good for a large group. The food is consistent. It's isn't the BEST Mexican food I've ever had, but it is good. Their chips, salsa and bean dip are always a huge hit with my family. The service is very attentive. I don't think we ever had an empty chips, salsa or bean dip container on our table and our waiter was very sweet.

Yelp
My wife and I came for lunch today.The.We sat down at the bar. They brought us chips, salsa, and the delicious bean dip. We were not disappointed. It was very tasty and went well with the salted chips. The salsa was mild, not spicy at all. Ordered two Dos Equis draft Amber beers. Ice cold and frosty. It is a full body and a smooth finish and subtle hints of roasted malts. My wife ordered the luncheon special hardshell taco beans, and rice, Delicious. I had the à la cart three beef taquitos with guacamole, excellent. We love the new location. Very clean. We were very pleased and the food and service is always great. We still Love the unique bean dip. Our bartender/ server gave excellent service and was very friendly.

Yelp
I was Christmas shopping and decided to stop over to Don Ramons for happy hour. Wow the food was amazing and drinks freshly made by Isaac . The carnitas and tacos bean dip amazing. True gem place. Come hungry! Hugo was the waiter and Isaac makes the fresh drinks from scratch.

Yelp
We used to love this place when it was at the other location. Since the move we've been a few times this last time was not good. The flautas was white chicken meat but no flavor at all, I know this is HB and white ppl can't handle the spices but I mean, a little salt won't hurt ... I sent it back. Nice place now, food not so good we won't go back.

Yelp
Food was amazing I actually tried the chile relleno burrito with bean and cheese, so delish! The atmosphere was great and very serene during lunch. Service was amazing as always , our server is always friendly and pleasant. If you're in the Huntington Beach area and looking for exquisite Mexican food I highly recommend a must have in OC.

Yelp
A friend and I went here for lunch. I haven't been in a few months, but it's alway la been one of my favorite places for Mexican. Love their bean dip and the salsa is also very good! I ordered fajitas. The serving is quite substantial and I took quite a bit home. We also ordered dessert - mud pie. It was huge & delicious. The service was very good and attentive. I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
I love this place. From the moment you enter it is always a great experience. The waiting area is comfortable and the staff friendly. Even the bathrooms are really nice! The food is outstanding! I love their quesadillas, tacos, boiled beans, and soups. I also love the bean dip they serve with chips before the meal. When we bring my toddler, everyone makes her feel like a million bucks. Can't wait to go back again soon!

Yelp
I used to come to Don Ramons all the time - for the lunch special - 2 beef (crispy) tacos. Their tacos (used to be) perfect. Great rice and perfect chips and salsa. It WAS a 5-star restaurant. Recently (after relocating from Warner and Golden West to Edinger Golden West) - I more than understand (accept) the prices went up to remain competitive. THAT is more than understandable / acceptable. But very disappointingly, while raising the prices by i.e. 60+%, the portions became significantly lesser (to the point, the 2 taco combo, I walked out hungry still). Also the quality of the tacos got worse (burned shells), less cheese, etc Most heartbreaking, there are waiters that I appreciate greatly - but very sadly, it's just not worth going anymore - very very sorry to those who work there that I bonded with I share this review not in criticism or anger - only (in good faith) - sorrowful humble regret Thanks again!

Yelp
I was eating at the prior location back in the 90s. It was gone for years and now it is back open here. Send great food. The stand out is the free bean dip that they give you with the chips and salsa. A small but significant difference between it and all the other Mexican food places. We just eat the staples: tacos, enchiladas, chicken fajitas, and they all are executed well. We were in the main dining area, which is pretty loud. Very high ceilings and echoes. Service was good as always.

Yelp
Love this place! Good, ole, gut fillin Mexican food! Clean interior and decor with great service. The salsa, bean dip, and chips are an appetite killer! They are so good that you have to fight from eating them and it's just chips! Good beans and rice are always nice but the food is just good ole fashioned Mexican food. A repeat, go-to, restaurant.

Yelp
My family frequently dines at Don Ramon's to celebrate Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. The service is excellent! The staff are friendly & efficient, and always have our reserved table waiting on arrival. The Food is Next-Level!! Consisting of Traditional Mexican dishes such as: Fajitas, Burritos, Enchiladas, Tacos, and more. They have a huge selection to choose from, and can customize any dish to your liking. The servers are always helpful when storing a brought in cake, and presenting it at the table after dinner is over, with plates, forks, & napkins. Completely Above & Beyond. The aesthetic of the restaurant is simple, coastal Mexican style. Nothing too fancy, yet Bright, Cheery & Clean. My family always looks forward to dining at Don Ramon's.

Yelp
Our favorite Mexican spot. My daughter even chooses Don Ramones for her Birthday dinner. I recommend their shredded beef crunchy taco, shrimp Enchiladas, & shrimp salad. Oh and of course the skinny margarita. I cant leave out the chips, salsa, & bean dip. Can't get enough! We used to waking over to the sister restaurant, Cantamar. We were so sad when they closed, but still getting the great food we always have. I appreciate when food is consistent, and they definitely have been consistently tasty throughout the years.
google avatar

Marlena W.

Yelp
My first time coming here and I have to say I was missing out. First off they have amazing blended margaritas. The bartender Roman makes the drinks perfectly. We ordered some wet burritos and taquitos. Then got the churros for dessert. The food was delicious. The churros were really good and Ioved that the ice cream that came with it was frozen enough that it didn't melt right away like it does at most places.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not the place. If you're looking for Americanized Mexican food, this is still NOT your place. I cannot express how disappointed I was with the quality of food at Don Ramon's. I ordered a 3-item combo: * Two red enchiladas: The red sauce was watery, bland, and had no flavor. * One green enchilada: The chicken inside had a rubbery texture and zero flavor. The sauce was equally terrible. * The rice was cold, watery, and tasted like it had been microwaved. * The serving of beans was tiny, with a pile of cheese slapped on top to try and cover it up. The only redeeming thing about this place was the bean dip they served with the chips before the meal--it was delicious. We also ordered a side of albondigas soup, which was awful. It came with two sad meatballs, two carrots, and what was basically hot, flavorless water. After we complained, they apologized and brought us tortilla soup as an alternative, but somehow, it was even worse. We couldn't finish our food, and they still got us for $40. I will never return. The original Don Ramon's location was much better years ago, but this spot is a complete disappointment. You're better off going to Morena's down the street or Mario's.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
If this is what Don Ramon's calls Grilled Cheicken Nachos, it's a pathetic excuse for a Mexican dish. On the top layer, it's beautiful and delicious . Then you finish the top and you are left with an entire bowl of soggy chips. Literally a full bowl of chips. When I make nachos, it's simply common sense that the entire bowl is full of cheese and chicken. Do better next time. Disappointed

Yelp
My family and I used to eat at Don Ramon's previous location off of goldenwest and warner often, and we loved it! I was excited to see that they reopened in a new location. My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary with a dinner at Don Ramon's on a Saturday night. The ambiance and decor is pleasant and the service was attentive and prompt. One of my favorite aspects of eating at Don Ramon's is the bean dip that they serve with their chips and salsa, it is a fantastic compliment to the salsa that they serve. My wife and I both ordered their two taco combo plate, which comes with 2 tacos, beans and rice. The food arrived quickly and was fresh and delicious. The reason for the 4/5 stars is because the portions have become smaller and prices have increased (not unlike most restaurants these days), which makes the value proposition of Don Ramon's questionable since there are plenty of solid cheaper alternatives in HB.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner last night and it was my first time experiencing the new location! All of the staff was extremely friendly and they greeted us with smiles while walking past them to our table. Our server was great and attentive. It was around 7pm on a Thursday so it wasn't crowded and it was quiet. The shredded beef tacos, the salsa and bean dip. It was all just as good as I remembered! We ordered some salsa to go, because it's just that good! We like to put it on everything! Excellent first time experience at this location. Will be back soon!

Yelp
I've been going to Don Ramon's for 30 years. Whenever i was in Huntington Beach i would grab lunch there. I just now tried the new location and it's really beautiful inside. I ordered takeout and the woman who helped me was very nice. My food was delicious. I had a cheese enchilada and a shredded beef taquito with rice and beans. I also had chips and bean dip and salsa. The bean dip and salsa is top tier, just so delicious. Their salsa is one of my favorite salsas ever, it's just so perfect. And i love that it's not chunky salsa, it's blended nice and smooth. The enchiladas are delicious, love the red sauce. The taquito was okay, not my favorite but it was fine. Their chips are really good too. I also love how they pack up their to-go orders. Beautiful restaurant with great food! And the owners are really lovely. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Found another great spot if you like Mexican food, fresh places, clean, great service I like the decorations, not overwhelming all three plates we ordered were fantastic. Well spiced the actual Asada tasted like Asada and the Carnitas worked so dry that you couldn't chew it.

Yelp
A nice Mexican food dinner at Don Ramon's. We were hungry and thirsty and chose this convenient location. We have been here before and know that the food will be yummy and the margarita will quench our thirst. A nice booth where we can see the action of staff and we are ready to order. Friendly advice from our waiter and my Pork Chili Verde with rice and refried beans with warm flour tortillas came quickly to the table. The tenderness of the pork chunks was a delight. The lovely missus has her albondigas soup and chose the special wings and chips platter. The blended margarita we shared was a good one. During our dining experience, we listened to music and were entertained by so many patrons coming and going. Don Ramone's certainly has a loyal following. We will be back.

Yelp
Enjoyed the daily Lunch Specials Combination served with rice and beans even on weekend. Reasonable prices, fast service. Beans and bean dip were excellent. Ambiance was nicely remodeled from Sunny's restaurant, located across the street from Golden West College. Family friendly. Clean. Restaurant service was on point. Will return. One of the best Beef Tacos, hearty taco. Cons: The chips were not tasty which is the first thing one notices, not a good first impression. I love me a good chips and salsa. I can easily down a basket of chips myself if they are good. But these were not worth eating. Big improvement if you upgrade the chips please! One star less for disappointing chips and overcooked rice lacking flavor.
google avatar

Charlyann M.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. It just turned out to be passable. The great; the chips were warm and crispy. The bean dip was hot and yummy. The salsa was favorable and not spicy which I appreciate. The good: the refried beans were good. The prices are very reasonable. The meh: the crispy shredded beef taco was just ok. The cheese enchilada had not a great sauce. The service was ok. Just one mistake on an order. The bad: nothing was memorable or worth returning for.

Yelp
I always love coming here. They have some of the best food. Service was great, never had a bad meal here. I guess there is a rumor they are closing? Not true, there is even a note at the counter to prove it.

Yelp
We went last night. We both been working opposite schedules. We finally had a night off together. I wanted Italian Buon gusto is our favorite BTW, he wanted Mexican, so we went to Don Ramon's used to be our favorite place until last night. The margarita was great and the bean dip as always but our dinners were awful. We felt rushed. They wanted us out of there ASAP. We were in and out back home within an hour so much for relax date night together. I'm done with this place back to Ramon's it is.

Yelp
I came with my two friends and the food was decent. My friend got the mole enchiladas, her plate was amazing. The mole was flavorful had a slight kick, it was delicious. My other friend ordered the super quesadilla. We were warned by our server that the super quesadilla is not in fact a quesadilla but more like a chimichanga as it is rolled up and deep fried. We did read the menu so we were expecting that but apparently people skip over that part in the description of the meal. The server was great for pointing that out. I couldn't decide on what to order so I did what I normally do and ordered 2 things and I take the one I didn't like as much home for lunch the next day. I ordered the huachinango Hidalgo pescado with a side soup of tortilla soup and the sopa de chile verde con frijoles de la olla. The sopa was decent. I did like the soup more than the fish. I did ask the server if the soup base was more chile verde flavor or bean flavor and he said chile verde.... It was in fact more of a bean taste but nonetheless was the better dish. I ate it with sour cream and tortillas. The fish was good. There were so many veggies on top that I couldn't see the fish. I do like veggies but they 100% overpowered the fish to where I couldn't taste it as much. We ordered 3 cocktails in total: Mexican coffee, cinnamon pumpkin rumchata (seasonal), and the peach cocktail. My favorite was the peach cocktail with the rumchata cocktail being a close first tie (I'm impartial as I don't like hot drinks)... they don't offer expresso martini anymore but haven't updated/taken off the menu. The service was good and the restaurant was bustling with so many conversations and people that it was a good time. Very clean place and the decor was beautiful! I'm giving 3 stars as the food was just decent to me. I will try again and hopefully have something that stands out more with flavor like their mole enchiladas did.

Yelp
Everything here was Outstanding! Right when my friends and I walked in, the hostess greeted us and sat us down. They were so nice and personable. Then came the food...WOW and I'm picky but I got the Fried fish tacos (to die for) my friends got the Crab enchiladas and the Tacos Don Ramon. SOOO GOOD!!! I will be back. Best Mexican food in town. Will be back soon.

Yelp
Chilaquiles verdes are delicious horchata and micheladas are amazing, portions are huge and hearty! My toddler loves their veggie quesadilla with minced veggies in the quesadilla. Wish it was a combo with rice and beans, so until then we end up ordering a bit more than we can eat in one sitting so we always leave with leftovers. Food is still yummy next day! Our family loves it here and staff is always exceptionally sweet! We've been coming since I was pregnant with my daughter and now she gets to enjoy meals with us very clean, very attentive, very prompt, and very delicious!

Yelp
Always an amazing place to eat. Been coming here for years and it's always great. The staff is friendly and the food is consistently good. I wish they would bring back the hand made tortillas but it's a small issue

Yelp
Went there for dinner and was very happy with the food and service. We will definitely return. The menu is vast and of course Mexican cuisine. The Margaritas and pre dinner snacks were excellent.

Yelp
Me and my wife have been waiting for this place to open up, and we finally got to try it! They opened recently at the end of January, and whenever we pass by, the place always looks packed! We came in on a Saturday night around 6 pm, and there were a few people waiting for a table. The lady took my name down for 2 ppl and said it would be about a 30-minute wait. They didn't take down my number or anything, so we waited inside until they called us. The place looks really nice and everything looked very new. It was a little loud, but the place was packed. We sat down, and they brought us chips, salsa, and a bean dip. I've never had a bean dip before, but it did not disappoint. It was very tasty and went well with the salted chips. The salsa was mild, not spicy at all. It was my wife's favorite. Our server came over right away and asked for our order, I got the deluxe Burrito, and my wife got a 2 taco place. The Burrito was huge! I was filled with rice and pinto beans, and I added Carne Asada for $2 more with a red sauce on top and guacamole on the side. The burrito was tasty, but the guacamole was a little brown. I also asked for a side of sour cream because the Burrito was a little salty. It may have been the red sauce.. my wife loved the shredded beef tacos, crispy on the outside with lettuce, cheese, and shredded beef. We also ordered a spicy mango margarita, and that was BOMB. We got it blended. It wasn't spicy at all. If you're looking for something sweet, that is the drink to get. We ended the night with a mud pie, coffee ice cream, with nuts, fudge, and whipped cream on an oreo like crust. It was delicious. Overall, it was a great experience. Our server was very attentive, the food was very tasty, and I enjoyed the ambiance. I'll definitely come back and try something else. Everything looked great!

Berin N.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant serving home style mexican food where you can actually taste the love they put into each dish. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff who makes everyone feel like family. The Hibiscus Margarita was worth the trip alone. You should try it! The puffy shrimp tacos, tamales, and the chili releno were so delicious, but I had to pack them up for later because I could not stop eating the chips, salsa, and refried beans. The decor was tasteful and the restrooms clean. The background music was not too loud, which we appreciated. We will absolutely go out of our way to visit them again.

Yelp
I recently met a girlfriend at Don Ramon's for lunch. We were seated in a booth in the bar area. We visited a bit and on the 3rd time our server came to the table, we apologized for taking so long. Decisions were made and we placed our order. My friend order the Chicken Suiza enchilada plate, and I had a shredded beef taco. The food came out pretty quick. My taco had maybe a tablespoon of shredded beef, half a head of lettuce and a lot of shredded cheese. There was way to much lettuce, but it was tasty and fine. My girlfriend on the other hand, cut in to her first enchilada and I noticed she was using a knife to cut it. She quickly told me the chicken while it was nice white meat was dry and tough and required a knife to cut. Our server never came back to the table to check on our meals, refill water or simply see if we needed anything, like a take out container. The owner came over to check on us after we were finished and ready to leave, but waiting for the check and a take out container. My friend explained the problem with the chicken and said it was delicious, but needed to cut it with a knife. It wasn't tender fall apart shredded chicken. The owner didn't apologize, but said she would talk to the kitchen. The check finally arrived and a take out container. There was no compensation for a meal that wasn't up to par, and we were very kind about the explanation. There are other Mexican restaurants around with better service. It was just disappointing. Don't know that I would go back.

Yelp
I initially posted this review on the old don Ramon's page because the new restaurant wasn't available. Since this is here now I can have posted this from a previous visit on 01/28 This restaurant has recently moved to a new address and is finally open again. They are now located at 7148 Edinger Ave across from Golden West College. We have been waiting for them to reopen and we're super excited to go for the first weekend they were back. Overall the food is still good. We will be coming back to try the dinner menu. From 11-2pm they run a limited lunch menu so we were bummed about that. Our server was awesome and the restaurant had been remodeled and looked great. One downside was the bean dip they serve with chips and salsa. While they still have it after moving the version they served was watered down and not as good as remembered. The chips were also extra salty today but that could've just been the batch we got. Overall we will be coming back and are excited it's open again.

Yelp
Don Ramon's has the most incredible and delicious food I have ever eaten in my life! Not only is the food amazing, everyone that works there is wonderfully kind and hospitable. When I want the greatest Mexican food, I will always eat at Don Ramon's! Thank you for decades of joyful fulfillment! Hillary A.

Yelp
First time eating here. Ordered the Don Ramon burrito and it was not a good choice. Service was not great and the food had no flavor. Will try another plate some other time and if that doesn't taste good that'll be it for us visiting this place. Also don't be greedy with the salsa Don Ramon!

Yelp
Food is good, great chips/salsa/ bean dip. Good plate specials and drinks. Big servings, nice ambiance and you can walk it off at the Goldenwest swap meet!

Yelp
The neighbors were raving about the food, so we tried it. It's very close to our house across from Goldenwest College, Huntington Beach. The service is excellent. We were offered a booth in the bar, or a table in the dining room. We chose the dining room, as the bar was full, Except for one booth, near the main entrance . It seemed an odd place for a booth. So we were seared at a table in the dining room which is setup to host banquets. It was loud and very noisey, with the other two tables being family parties of 8 or more. The ambience of that room was a 1 or of 10. The lighting is bright and the sound bounces off the walls. My husband ordered a peach margarita $10.50. It was good he said but very light on the tequila. We got guacamole and they set chips on the table. Everything was very fresh. We both ordered taquitos with guacamole ( they did package the guacamole in a very nice tight container that kept it fresh for 3 days. I had 3 beef taquitos and my husband had 3 chicken taquitos. Every thing was wonderful including the service. We both had flan. $68.00 total plus tip. But it was very good and high quality ingredients they used in the food. We'll return soon.

Yelp
I am usually a satisfied customer... never would I have thought Don Ramon's would disappoint! I am feeling under the weather and felt that a bowl of Albondigas soup would soothe my soul... I ordered a bowl... not a cup.. and this is what I got... I called to speak to a manager... of course they aren't available... the lady said that a bowl is 16oz so I of course measured it.. I paid 11 bucks why wouldn't I measure it... anyways this is what I got.. atleast charge me a cup size.. not a bowl.. what a rip off.. the order to go service is horrible

Yelp
Don Ramon's serves classic Mexican-American dishes that are fresh and delicious. We just had lunch while visiting my grandmother's house and have eaten here for many years. Always a wonderful meal served by wonderful owners, and it is highly recommended!

Yelp
Service was epic! The room was pleasant, clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. The wait was non-existent and the server was so nice!

Yelp
After getting "kicked out" of their original location... Don Ramon's found a new location and is back... so many mom and pop businesses were lost during the pandemic, it was exciting to know that this one found a new location and is thriving... new look and the same good food.... yup nice to have the bean dip along with the salsa and chips... I do miss the cozy old world feel of the old Don Ramon's... it oozed "Mexican" Restaurant with the Mexican music piped in... here, the music is piped in but it gets lost in the high ceilings and open flooring... very modern... kind of like Porto's Buena Park... the bar is no longer hidden but up front and center between two open seating areas... do I miss the old Don Ramon's? Yes I do... it's like my old slippers and sweats... but you know what? Change is good... new slippers and new sweats is good... the best news is the owners are back and the food is the same... Guess what? I'm back and it feels good! Thank you Don Ramon's for making an effort to return and making the same great quality of food as you've always done...

Yelp
Grandson's birthday celebration went great. They went out of their way to accommodate us, and the food was delicious.

Yelp
I really love this place. The first location was very close to my house, it was much smaller, a bit more intimate, but this one is gorgeous! The bar has plentiful bar too and lobby seating! Hostess, bartender and waitstaff are always so nice and you never run out of chips, salsa and beans! I am crazy about their albondigas soup! Argh! It's amazing!

Yelp
Food was decent. Went for breakfast it wasn't crowded but the service was bad. I had thought I was invisible. The server would walk by but not acknowledge me. Couldn't get a coffee refill and had to ask the busser to get me my bill

Yelp
The new location is open, airy and much more spacious than the old one. The service is still excellent and the food still great. They are closed on Monday but have a good lunch menu for the weekend.
