"Don Rodone specializes in the best affordable ceviche in Hollywood. The menu is tight, and includes a mean lomo saltado and a couple other dishes. But the ceviche is the star. The regular fish ceviche features certain details you’d find in much pricier versions, like a little tangle of yuyo (seaweed) and choclo kernels scented with anise. The leche de tigre is perfectly balanced, too. You’ll seriously think you’re getting away with paying far too little for such a great ceviche." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, carlos c olaechea

"Don Rodone specializes in the best affordable ceviche in South Florida. The Peruvian chef behind this small cevichery got his start with a stall at Yellow Green Farmers Market just down the street before opening up his own permanent location walking distance from TY Park. The menu is limited, and includes a mean lomo saltado and a couple other dishes. But the ceviche is the star. The regular fish ceviche is about $15 and features certain details you’d find in much pricier versions, like a little tangle of yuyo (seaweed) and choclo kernels scented with anise. The leche de tigre is perfectly balanced, too. You’ll seriously think you’re getting away with paying far too little for such a great ceviche." - Carlos C Olaechea

We recently moved to the area and decided to try this restaurant. At first, we thought it was closed because the sign you see from outside is actually above a barbershop, not the restaurant itself—so you really have to look closely to realize it’s there. The food was delicious, full of flavor. The trio dish could use a better presentation, but the taste was exquisite. The beer was a 10/10—served ice cold with a chilled glass too. Highly recommended!

Google
I tried the ceviche, jalea mixta, and causa, and all three were excellent. The standout was the ceviche: hands down the best I’ve had outside of Peru. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and bursting with authentic flavor. The jalea was crispy and generous, and the causa was beautifully presented and delicious. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend to anyone craving real Peruvian food done right.

Google
Went there with my son and my parents who were visiting from out of town. It was first time for me and after seeing the chef on Tik-Tok, I wanted to try it out. It was the best decision ever! We had ceviche de Pescado, causa de atún, mondonguito a la italiana, tallarín verde with steak chunks, whole fried snapper and grilled octopus. The food was amazing! Every plate was so exquisite in taste that made our mouths water. The portions were perfect and the prices not too bad but definitely worth every penny. The chef is an amazing cook, I really recommend this restaurant! Thank you, Don Rodone for an incredible experience with food!😊

Google
Incredible Food, Services and ambience. Best Peruvian food in Broward, Definitely you need to try the Lomo Saltado with Tallarines and Huancaina Sauce, ceviche carretillero and seafood chaufa. 5 stars on everything!

Eddy Marte

Google
Fiorella was very courteous and helpful. The ceviches were both very good and fresh. Would definitely return and recommend.

Google
I ordered a tallarín verde with what I thought would be a New York strip steak. I asked the waitress if it was a New York strip and she confirmed it was. She even asked what temperature would I like it to be cooked. Sadly it wasn’t, it was a thin slab of meat obviously over cooked since it’s so thin. And on top of that they charged me a 12% tax on top of the 18% tip that they included for just two people. We will never return!!!

Google
Had not visited this restaurant in a while. I'm glad the flavor of the dishes is consistent. Congrats to the kitchen. Ordered the PARA LA REINA mix of dishes: ceviche, jalea, chaufa de mariscos and causa. Also tried the dessert of churros with Lucuma ice cream. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious! Very recommended.

Google
Food was great , small menu and they need to specify changes on price , overall was good experience

Yelp
What a great find. Basically played eenie meenie miney mo on "peruvian ceviche" places, and landed on Don Rodone. I ordered the mixed ceviche, fried yucca, and 2 recommended beverages. Everything was great. Cold ceviche, hot crispy yucca, and a delicious aji Verde. Perfect meal. It is slightly hard to find the entrance. It's is located in a strip mall, kind of near back. But the signage makes it hard to find. It doesn't really align with building. All the surrounding businesses look very open from street side. Don Rodone could do a better job of identifying themselves. I highly recommend this place!! Until next time

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Fresh. Efficient and friendly service! Nice music. This could easily become my neighborhood favorite if I lived in the area.

Giovanni C.

Yelp
Great Peruvian spot, ceviche and lomo saltado you can never go wrong. Been coming for years , service is great , they have Latin music playing.

Jacques R.

Yelp
Came to this place to have a quick lunch. Place is small nice and clean. Service was by a young lady who could take care of our table and another that also had people. Her service was quite good. We had ceviche to begin with and it was on the good side, fresh and well seasoned. I also had the parijuela soup that was good and large. It can easily be a main course... just ask to add some more fish or seafood and that's it.... I thought it was not going to be enough, so I ordered a grilled Mahi Mahi with salad that was also quite good. There is ample parking space outside as it is located in a street mall... Nothing fancy and good.

Carolina S.

Yelp
The quality is not good for a restaurant. I can cook better at home. I only ordered the grille chicken lunch. The rice is chewy. The chicken was cold when I picked up. Nothing special.

Santos M.

Yelp
Where do I begin. This is what a $19 lomo saltado gets you. I didn't add the meat in the picture but all I can say is wayyyyyy to much salt so much salt it was not enjoyable.

Veronica D.

Yelp
Great food! Very consistent on their quality and taste Prices are good and versatile menu. Some of their dishes are combinations which is a great idea if you want to try a little bit of everything!

Susan G.

Yelp
Carlos was a wonderful server we arrived at 3:45 pm which was perfect. By 5:00pm the restaurant was packed. He was very helpful regarding the items we had questions on and the leche de tigre & ceviche were very tasty. He suggested the lomo chufa and we ate all of it!! The cusquena & pilsner were on point with our food. Overall, a wonderful new experience and we will be back. Fyi, when i called to see if they were open they answered on the 2nd ring and when we were dining i witnessed the phone being answered right away. Futhermore, we enjoyed the music and it wasn't loud as stated by other comments on yelp

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Food Service Ambiance excellent a hidden gem! Been driving by ever since they opened. The best! And I never knew.

Alexander T.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant today and the food was terrible. My partner ordered the pollo a la brasa... they served him a sliver of chicken breast (and for $15!). The causa de pollo was drowned in a yellow sauce that didn't even come close to huancaina sauce. And the Tacu Tacu didn't even have beans?! It's odd cause there are some good reviews on here, but I just don't understand how! Unfortunately, I'm not coming back.

Renato C.

Yelp
What a terrible experience ! Shameful to call this Peruvian food. The rotisserie chicken was no more than 1 oz of chicken, the causa was all potato with yellow cheese sauce, and the tacu tacu was nowhere close to what authentic Peruvian food is. Avoid at all costs!

Rocio O.

Yelp
One of the best in Broward!. I just broke a 3 month diet and had no regrets. Everything was delicious and fresh.

Mauricio B.

Yelp
This is a fairly small restaurant (8 small tables), but clean and has great food. Menu is also small, but has the most traditional Peruvian dishes and a few creative combinations using Peruvian spices that are very tasty, like their fettuccine huancaina and fettuccine pesto. Their ceviche is one of my favorites, especially because this is the creamy type which is full of flavor. They also serve wine and Peruvian beers, in addition to traditional "chicha morada" (purple corn soft drink). This location is off Sheridan Street, in the back of the plaza and their sign only says CEVICHE, not the full name of the restaurant. I have suggested to the owner to add a few other side dishes like Peruvian tamales which go great with ceviche, so hopefully they will be added soon. This place is definitely worth a try. Cheers!

M S.

Yelp
Best Ceviche Carretillero! Mmm.. the best of both worlds in one (ceviche mixto and jalea). I'm definitely coming back. I paired my dish with Passion fruit juice and I felt I was back in time..

Yelper G.

Yelp
We had an hour for work lunch, ordered Pollo Broaster & Anticucho w/pancita. Flavors were alright. Not great. Presentation for Pollo Broaster was very simple on a sort of soup bowl. (The dish was not inviting) We ordered water, it had a taste and smell as if it was placed inside a dirty refrigerator. We didn't finished it. It took almost an 40 minutes for both dishes to arrive. The place is small but seemed clean. Not my choice for going back. Maybe i'll try ceviche if i ever happen to pass by again.

Ricardo B.

Yelp
Small unassuming Peruvian restaurant close to home. Note: portions are on the regular to maybe small side depending on how much you eat. Menu has some interesting combinations like: lomo saltado con tallarines en salsa de pesto (spaghetti in pesto sauce and beef Peruvian style): very tasty. I ordered the leche de tigre (ceviche that is marinated in super acid liquid) as an appetizer, and it was delicious! Just a tad bit salty at the end but then again, I was drinking the liquid (jejejeje). Then we ordered a regular lomo saltado and a lomo saltado con tallarines y salsa de pesto. Everything was delicious and if there was one thing we did mention was that we would've liked a few more slices of the beef. But other than that, the rice was cooked nicely, the lomo saltado didn't come out tasting like pure soy sauce like it sometimes does in other places. Finally, for dessert, we ordered churros that came stuffed with dulce de leche. Yummy but be warned: you may burn your mouth cause they come out freshly made. Service was nice. The waitress was friendly and came back to check on how we were doing a few minutes after each plate came out. We are definitely coming back to try out their other offering and since they are close, maybe order take out too

Leslye L.

Yelp
Usually food is really good but today it's was not worth it. Choroid ala and leche de Tigre without lime is not Good !!!! Very disappointed

Alice G.

Yelp
Amazing food! This is a tiny restaurant at a street mall. But oh, it should be on everyone's radar! Ceviche was fresh, the seasoning was so perfect that my mouth is watering while I write this review! My husband had the lomo salteado and it was delicious!!! I highly, highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for the perfect Ceviche!

Yurika P.

Yelp
Comida peruana súper deliciosa el largo entero fresco jugoso , ceviche mixto súper divino fresco with sweet potato and corn. Fillet de pescado súper bueno. Muy rico este restaurante y sus comidas peruanas.

Ricardo E.

Yelp
I came twice and brought people in this place because i saw in social medias the food and i thought that was really good place. The problem is the staff doesnt know anything about peruvian food. They dont explain anything about the menu. Less about the prices. In other side how is possible that my friend wanted just a chaufa without anyprotein (she's vegan) and they charged 2 dollars more than the regular price?? Chaufa 12 dollars Chaufa Without proteins almost 15$ This is a joke right? But its true. The answer of the waitress was : its a special plate. How is possible this.?? Anyway i hope that restaurant improve the training and the service. The food its really good but no match with service.

Carla R.

Yelp
I'm Peruvian with a very picky taste x food, I can tell you that Don Rodonde has the best ceviche in town, I've trying in many Peruvian places, by far his signature ceviche carretillero is the best!!! Highly recommend it!!!!

Karina L.

Yelp
The restaurant is small in size but very neat and clean! When we arrived we were told the main chef wasn't there, so the menu was limited a bit and we had alter our dishes BUT the food was delicious! my family and I left happy and content. Our server was attentive and friendly! We hope to go back soon to experience the food with the main chef!

ElRamy M.

Yelp
Great food, however it is a continuous annoying environment to enjoy a meal. On different visits we asked the servers to lower the music and its heavy bass. Then, the owner and chef comes out the kitchen and cranks up the music to its loud liking. It is like eating your meal in a pounding-noise tiny room. At the end, he is the owner and does whatever he wants, even ignoring the customer requests. Fortunately, I can bring my money to support a customer-oriented business. Bye, bye...

Cynthia P.

Yelp
This location was a new one for me, I use to go to the flea market to enjoy this amazing food but now they have their own location and that is even better. Food was tasty as usual , portions very generous too . Plate presentation was very nice too. The waitresses were very sweet and patient when explaining the dishes to us. Even though they are not Peruvian they knew exactly what they were talking about when explaining the dishes to us. We went 2 days in a row with my sister and my friend. And can't wait to go again on my next visit to Florida.

Carmen G.

Yelp
I was there yesterday with my friend and the food was good and very fast . The prices are good . The waitress was very nice and friendly. We really enjoy the food in here.

Paul R.

Yelp
Family owned restaurant, great service, great food. This is one of our go to lunch spots.

John G.

Yelp
This place doesn't pick up the telephone ever. No business phone greeting on the answering machine. Completely unprofessional for a business to be called at 8 pm on a Saturday evening to order food and NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE...Ridiculous!! My wife called twice and I called 3 times with no answer.

Michael D.

Yelp
The food here is great. I eat here every time I'm in town. The location isn't so hot and there is very limited outdoor seating but it's definitely worth the trip.

Jose D.

Yelp
malisimo ! falta mucho sabor. La carne del lomo saltado no la sellaron, el arroz chaufa le faltaba sal y sin sabor. Bajisima calidad !!!

Edith W.

Yelp
Super cute place. Small, very clean restaurant. The food was delicious. Papa a la huaicaina was great. I loved my ceviche and We also had a lomo saltado that was spectacular. The food was made fast and the service was Amazing too!

Michelle H.

Yelp
Delicious. The food was fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend. We had the tallarines verdes with steak and Ceviche Caretillero.

Chris V.

Yelp
Horrible we ordered two chicken saltado barely had any chicken and one slice of tomato just a ton of French fries. Waitress was very pleasant but the head chef was very rude I saw two unhappy customers asking for their money back. Instead of remaking my food they let me leave unhappy. Save ur time and money

Teresa B.

Yelp
What a great unpretentious neighborhood Peruvian restaurant! The ceviche is very good and super tasty (they use Corvina not Tilapia), TacuLomo was delicious! Service was great too!

Dayana C.

Yelp
This peruavian place was surprisingly extremely good. You almost miss it when u drive by but i am so glad we stopped by. We ordered a mixed ceviche and a tallarin verde con lomo and it was delicious. Its a small place but quality food and the price is very good in comparison to what you would pay else where. Highly recommend.

Erika E.

Yelp
I just want to let you know Don rodone chef/ owner. That I have never been more disappointed with the kind of treatment i just received in your restaurant. Over a sandwich that you could clearly done something about it and made your customer happy. Furthermore, I've come to eat few times before today and have even brought my family members to eat there... with that being said. I am sorry to tell you that i will not return to your restaurant, not only have you lost us a customers. But i will pass the word around to my family as well. Question is where in Peru . Does one serve or make a butifarra with mustard splattered all over. Pretty nasty if you asked me... luckily we have other peruvian restaurants where they care about their consumers/ customers... realize! Without customers? A restaurant can not succeed... this is not Peru..

Aaron B.

Yelp
The best ceviche around! I went with my girlfriend yesterday and ordered an old off menu chefs special. They had no problem making it for me. One of my favorite meals of all time!

J Rodolfo C.

Yelp
Amazing food The chef friendly and is very approachable Fresh food cool place in Hollywood

Dianelis F.

Yelp
I'm giving this place three stars because the food is delicious!!! I'm not giving it five because the service isn't good... though it's a small place with few tables the two women working here can't seem to handle it. It was very frustrating having to wait such a long time for everything, honestly dealt with it because the food is delicious but when this happens it doesn't make you wanna come back. The pisco sour was also delicious honestly the best I've ever had. Hope they hire better staff or better train the people they have now.

Dave F.

Yelp
Tried this for the first time yesterday, based on the recommendation of a Peruvian friend. We both ordered ceviche mixto for take out. Service was fast--no more than 10 min. before our meals were ready. Prices seemed fair for what we got. The ceviche had a good mix of fish, octopus, squid, etc. But...we both specifically asked for MILD spice and I would say it was more like a 7-8 on a scale of 1-10. Way too hot for mild, regardless of one's personal interpretation of mild. Even my husband, who loves spicy, thought it was way too hot. O course we couldn't complain because we were already at home. I would consider going back but would have a good long chat with the owner about what I want and whether I could actually get it that way or not. Otherwise the place appeared clean and the service was friendly.

Anthony S.

Yelp
This place has great lunch and happy hour special. For brunch they have all the traditional Peruvian breakfast sandwiches and huge!!! I have been coming here for the past 5 months and have tried multiple dishes and have not been disappointed with anything. Best pan con chicharron sandwich ive had to far.

Ella K.

Yelp
They have a small menu but the food is delicious! Hidden gem in this plaza and Emerald Hills area. I had the ceviche, causa de pollo, and chicha morada. All delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more.

Paula B.

Yelp
I've been eating in this place for 3 years. They started with a booth in the Farmer's market and now they have a restaurant which is amazing. It's a family-owned business. The owner is the chef and he makes the BEST lomo saltado and arroz con mariscos ever. The restaurant is clean and the staff is super friendly.

Howard C.

Yelp
The food has a great taste! I found the prices on the higher end as you could go to a fine dining for even less price, the service is not the greatest they need to focus more on the service. Food was delicious once again.

Angela C.

Yelp
I love this place, best ceviche and lomo saltado, this morning we had the breakfast sandwich ( lomo sandwich and pork sandwich) they are hugeeee! Loved them! Buenaso!

Catherine G.

Yelp
Very good food !! Fantastic presentation of the plates. Beautiful restaurant and a great friendly staff. I recommend to everyone

Luz F.

Yelp
This is my favorite Peruvian Restaurant. The Chef/Owner will make you almost anything and you can taste the love.

Fanny H.

Yelp
Eh, not good. We went with our family and got different dishes. We got a ceviche and it was too citric, the chaufa had a strong flavor of what we believed was sesame oil (couldn't really spot it), and i got the "pollo anticuchero" I thought it would be chicken seasoned with the flavors of anticucho... it was just a chicken breast with rice and potato. -__-' The jalea was good and the seco de carne was alright but they're ceviche was disappointing. We were surprised because they have good reviews for they're Taft street location but we're Peruvian and love to try new Peruvian restaurants and we wouldn't recommend this one. Maybe that's why it was empty. :/

Mike B.

Yelp
Ordered the tallarín verde con bistec. Waitress said they were out of steak but they had lomo saltado so I said ok. Price on menu was $14. I was shocked when she charged me $21.95 because she said it was a special order. Never again. No wonder it's always empty.

Frances i.

Yelp
Best ceviche in town, is an small cozy place, the chef is excellent, food is super fresh and people is very friendly. My recommendations are : ceviche carretillero (fish ceviche and jalea(fried ceviche) on top) and tacu tacu with lomo.

Aziza H.

Yelp
Delicious food! We got the ceviche with yellow sauce. It was very flavorful and perfect amount of spicy.
