Don Tortaco Mexican Grill

It is a 24 hr. Mexican restaurant 10 minutes off the strip. We were looking for some less expensive food after having paid $53 for a pizza at the MGM hotel. It was around 11 p.m. and Don Tortaco looked similar to the food we have in Laredo at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, it was only edible. . stopper here. The Asada burrito tasted like it was made from "Steak-Ums" not fajita. The quesadilla had dry shredded chicken in it. The street tacos had more cilantro and onion than meat. It cured the hunger but didn't satisfy the pallet. The fountain drinks were either just water or partly flat. The Jaimaica juice had a weird flavor and the Sprite came out with black specs. Yum! The tables and chairs were sturdy and clean but did nothing to contribute to the already dull atmosphere. Nothing about the decor said Mexican restaurant. Just another plaza eatery. Enjoy.

Oh my gosh the food was horrible. Torta de milanesa was dry. Please don’t advertise as Mexican food and then want to add American cheese. Just bad!!!!!

Went here the other day! We had the loaded fries with Carnitas and some enchiladas, and they are both amazing! So much better than what you would think a fast food restaurant would do! Service was awesome, and the place was pretty clean! I will definitely go here again!

I got a breakfast burrito, and it was not good. I got it with Asada, and it was 11 dollars, and there was no meat in it. I asked for no cheese, and I felt like they heard no nothing. The hash browns were raw. If I had gotten ham, bacon, or sausage, it would have been 3.99, and it would have been so much better.

The resturant has a sign serving 6am to 11am $3.99 breakfast burritos but there no one here in the drive-thru area so that is a false advertisement from don taco this one worse place with customer service. If they have a ad saying serving from 6am to 11am there is no one here to work they just don't want the business... on the web page it said that open 8am every day so switch is the real time that they open... they dont have hour posted on drive-thur or main restaurant lobby for the customer it a very un professional. This a problem of management or business owners that somethings so simple it hard for management to fail...

They store the ready-to-eat shredded chicken in a container with hot water. So when I bit into my chicken burrito, it burst with scalding water all over my lap. Thanks a lot.

I love this place, I pass by almost every Monday or Tuesday for their breakfast burritos. This morning the restaurant was clearly open I was at the drive thru and one of the workers checked the drive thru window and when they saw me they hid. Not sure what was going on but I think it would’ve been easier to say hey sorry we’re closed instead of hiding.

We ordered by grubhub. Food came super fast,fresh and hot. Food was delicious. I have chicken chimichanga and my wife had a carne asada torta. Both were delicious. Our new go to Mexican spot for sure. A must try spot.

I recently stopped by Don Tor Taco, which is conveniently located near my home, and I have to say, my experience has been pretty average. I'd give it a solid 2 out of 5 stars. The food is okay, but it hasn't wowed me yet. I usually opt for the drive-thru, which has become a Tuesday tradition for their tacos or a carne asada burrito. The tacos are decent, and while the carne asada burrito packs a flavorful punch, it's not quite enough to elevate my overall impression of the place. The flavors are good, but I've had better Mexican food elsewhere. One of the main drawbacks, though, has been the customer service. I've found the staff to be less than friendly on most visits. It's not just a matter of a warm welcome; I often feel like I'm just another order in line. To make matters worse, about 2 out of 3 times, my order comes out wrong. It can be frustrating to get home and realize that what I thought I ordered isn't what I received. Overall, Don Tor Taco is a convenient spot for a quick bite, especially on Taco Tuesdays, but the combination of decent food and subpar service keeps it firmly in the "just okay" category for me. If you're in the area and looking for a quick fix, it might satisfy your cravings, but don't expect much in terms of customer experience.

Review #18 of 2024 Dropped in with an old friend around 2pm on Wednesday June 5th. Good value and generous portions. The only downside was the foam plate it was presented on for dining in. I dislike melted foam on my hot food. I'd rather have it on a paper plate. The service was satisfactory and the food was brought to our table promptly. My friend ordered beef tacos. After sitting for a few minutes, the lady who took our order came over and told him there's no beef. So where's the beef? The presence of homeless individuals who appeared to be drug addicts outside the restaurant is concerning as they charge their phones inside the restaurant and use the restrooms for unknown activities. I wouldn't want to get a surprise while having to use it when nature calls. My take, decent enough for a quick bite, but get it to go, avoid dine in.

Terrible customer service I work in a clinic and I went put a big order for all my coworkers I love the food, but I had to tell the guy to do everything, from start, I told him please make sure that every order have salsa, carrots , cucumbers but nothing was there the guy was really unhappy somebody have to tell him something without costumers he don't have a job . I ask him for a manager or where I can find a phone number for me to call and to talk to somebody and he told me that they don't have a phone number or manager.

Food was tasty and made to order. Would come back to this location. Worker was friendly.

I'm being a little generous with the 2 stars here unfortunately. Let's see, so not sure what was happening w the cashier, he was nice but definitely not focused. Hoping he's just new and will get the hang of it soon. The place was clean kinda like a fast food type of place. Food wasn't very good quality for the price I paid. Ordered a fish taco, breakfast burrito w carne asada and a shrimp burrito w a side of rice and beans. 1 fish taco for $4.65 !! Way over priced. The burritos were reasonably priced but the tiny side of rice and beans were $3.25 ! Cost on those 2 items is probably right around .40 max. Way too much. Some of the shrimp dishes way too expensive at around $19. Will I return ? No. I can get better quality at a Mexican restaurant for right around the same price as this fast food type of spot. Oh and the cucumbers were spoiled. Please throw the old ones out, someone is going to get sick off of them.

This place is horrible. I've gone twice past 11pm and no one is ever there to answer the drive thru. Both times I've waited a couple minutes screaming hello and NO ONE is there.

If you care about your safety don't go to this establishment. On 11/1/2024 at 3pm I went throw the drive thru. I was attacked by a guy throwing bricks at my car and trying to get in. I was stuck as a car came behind me and a car in front of me. I called 911 as I finally got to the window and told the male employee to call 911 as well he told me it wasn't his problem. Shaken with the person still at the drive thru I got out my car went inside and explained what happened to ask the employee to call 911 he pointed at me and repeated it's not my problem. I then state I think it is as I'm a customer at your establishment and you bear some responsibility for your customers safety. Even though I called 911 no officer ever showed up in the 45 mins I waited while the person throwing bricks was still on property in front. Don't go here they don't care about you and homeless drugged out people are all around this place and in the back.

Not 24 hours like there sign says they close at 11:20 pm everyday even if there's workers inside !

Invited my daughter and grandson for breakfast today. Ask her if she wanted some yummy cheese enchiladas? We ended up ordering two number 2's with a shredded beef taco, 1 cheese enchilada and refried beans and rice. Had some tasty green salsa and cucumbers with lemon and salt. Got us two fountain drinks for us surprise with the selection they had aguas frescas as an option!! Tamarindo, Horchata, Jamaica and Pineapple flavors. Also good Pepsi products if you need something gassy. My grandson had a special request a small corn tortilla quesadilla, and some orange rice. Love how they cater to all of our food requests. Are is clean with plenty of sitting place also good music. Loved the new ordering option too they have an app now!! Will take a picture next time!!!

My first time coming here I got a bean and cheese burrito and it was great and only five bucks and I decided to go back for the dollar 59 tacos on taco Tuesday and you know what could be one of the best deals in Vegas. there's another spot in town. I go to on Wednesdays but now I've got two spots a week to get Dollar 59 tacos. I give this place a thumbs up, the place is clean and the staff is friendly

We had this time order thru door dash . When we got the food still fresh . Not hot anymore but still good .

The beef enchiladas by themselves are my go to dish. Quality and tasty. So far the best drive through Mexican in the neighborhood. Vegetarians try chili relleno with cheese enchiladas.

Food is fire, I get a carne asada burrito with cheese, rice, beans, and sour cream added inside, avocado already comes with it. Whenever I eat it I feel like God himself has come down from the sky and blessed my stomach.

Went here last night and the food was terrible! The sauce tasted sour not very flavorful and very small portions of rice and beans. Do yourself a favor go to Roberto's

Good food but long wait, we ordered in the drive thru, and it look 15 mins to get our food with only 1 car in. Front of us! Aside from the wait, the food was really good, My youngest son is 7 and he loves tacos, and can normally eat 4 street tacos, but these tacos are huge and he was only able to take down 2.My oldest is 12 he loved the asada burrito it was also pretty big, he wasn't able to finish it.my wife and I split a torta, and the asada fries we both loved the fries got extra onions and cilantro definitely the best thing we had. All in all good food I'll definitely be back but this time I'll be more prepared for the Wait.

So I have seen this business sign for a minute now. I thought ok it's taco Tuesday let me just check it out. Went through the drive thru and ordered enchiladas and tacos. Eveyrhing was just so good. Fresh. Seasoned well. We loved it. They were DELISH!!! Omgosh I was pleasantly surprised. All the sides were in. Utensils. Napkins!!! Drive thrus notoriously forget that stuff. But yes, food was great!

I have been going to this location for at least several years. I would compare them to Roberto's in quality, but I think they're a step above actually. Everything I've had here has been good, especially the breakfast burritos. My favorites are either the breakfast burrito with sausage or bacon. I usually go through the drive-thru and they're always friendly and efficient. In store at the counter is fine too. Whether you've got a craving for a breakfast burrito that will fill your belly or the late night munchies, Don Tortaco is the place to go.

If you want undercooked food, and a completely messed up order then this is the restaurant for you!! :D I haven't tried this place once, twice, or three times. I've been coming here over the course of a year, due to convenience. I order the same thing every time and they find a way to mess it up EVERY time. I usually just eat the crappy food and move on with my day but this time they gave me rotten salsa, so I took it upon myself to make a review. Good luck!!

I just bought 3 carne asada plates and a large horchata from the drive through at Don Tortaco location on Warm Springs and Eastern. While I was halfway through eating my carne asada plate, Once I took a bite and bit down, I noticed something hard. I find out it's a Steel WingNut, looked like it was cooked with my food. I find that disgusting. I threw away my food and now I have a toothache. I chipped my tooth a little as well. I plan on suing Don Tortaco, that's just down right terrible and very bad for business. PS: I'll be a Karen today and hope no one else's food gets messed with like mines!

Very Very low salt menu prepared by the staff! I luv it, because salt is the silent killer!

The breakfast burrito is one of the best values in Las Vegas! I also love the two taco combo plate.

I ordered a torta, chimichanga, and 3 churros. The steak tasted very old in my torta, and the churros were extremely dry. Out off the authentic spots in LV, I wouldn't come here again.

I ordered the California Burrito for $5.72 It has asada, cheese, fries and pico de Gallo . It was served hot and the tortilla wrap was delicious . The burrito was a good size and it was really good . The restaurant was clean inside and service was good . However-I was the ONLY one in the place when I ordered so I can't vouch for the service when it is full of customers . If I could pick out one thing that I didn't like? When I'm eating , I don't like employees to sweep or mop around me. I realize that many places have employees who do this because the boss has told them to keep busy and keep the place clean, but as a customer - I never like it . I often am in this area and I will come back again .

I've been to many of their locations and out of all of them I like this location the best. They didn't skimp on the meat and they also were super nice. We waited a little long in the drive thru for our order but other then that everything was good. This is a chain so you're not going to get that mom and pop feel but if you're hungry this place will do the trick. I ordered the shrimp burrito. It was bomb

Camarones a la Diabla was a good choice, the shrimps marinated with the Chile olive oil and dried guajillo. The fresh basil smell enlightened the overall tastes of this dish.

They always do something wrong or forget something in my order. I can again to try them out and not I'm just super mad I will never let any family or friends come buy from this location. I officially hate going here will not give them a 2nd chance. Are you really going to make me waist my gas and time to go complain just to fix it. You guys suck

I am very happy to leave a GREAT REVIEW here at the location on Sunset and Eastern. Their service was professional prompted and friendly! Might I add their food wax DELICIOUS. I love how the drive thru employee was knowledge with the menu therefore was able to offer suggestions to help me make up my mind and choose out of their delicious combo meals. The employee at the window was kind patient and professional and even tho they had added ALL the extra condiments she was still professionals doing friendly when I asked for more! I highly recommend this place and will definitely be a regular here! Thank you guys! (Ps only thing I would suggest is offering the receipts to their customers so we can have the names of their employees so we can give y'all a big #SHOUTOUT!

I use to love this place. Its close to work and the food is great. But they always have issues on their payments, cash only sign on drive thru, and now they charge extra fee when you use credit card. Time to find a better place.

I prefer this one asada fries here since the meats are chopped small and they put beans too. Friendly customer service.

This is my favorite location, they don't hold back on the meat and you can customize your order . They are very good at catering to your needs ,and will do they're best to meet them. If you have the chance try the coffee, it's very authentic and delicious.

Love this place! I have eaten the shrimp burrito every night for like the last month. Staff is always friendly, quick and hooks it up with the sauces!! Ky one thing I would love to ask for is the nutrition facts being available somewhere!! That shrimp burrito could be 600 calories or 1200. Overall love this place!!

Pretty good! Very reasonably priced Mexican food. I got the beef plate special and a few chicken tacos. Everything was good. The taco was pretty big for 99 cents. I really loved the flour tortillas. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. I'm happy that it's open 24 hours and has a drive thru. I can't wait to try the other food!

THIS PLACE IS NOT MEXICAN!! FOOD IS DISGUSTING!!! DON'T EVER COME HERE!!! My family and I ordered $80 worth of food and everything was disgusting. My son-in-law found a long Dark hair in his burrito, their chile relleno has enchilada sauce! Like who puts enchilada sauce on their chile relleno??!?!?!?! The restaurant didn't provide utensils, salt, or lemons! My fish tacos didn't have Pico de Gallo like the restaurant said they were supposed to have. We had to pay EXTRA for rice and beans in our burritos!! Who doesn't already add that to their burritos???? Especially if you're a calling yourself a Mexican restaurant!!!!! Almost everything lacked salt and any flavor. The nachos were SUPER SOGGY!! They should have used some of those beans to put into the burritos!! Honestly, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! I will NEVER order from here again.

I love their food. My favorite 24 hour spot in vegas. We eat here very often, they're always quick and it's always great. I love the Adobada and Carnitas Tacos. The Asada Quesadillas are very good too. Quick affordable tasty food, prefer their tacos to lots of other places. Way way better than Robertos imo.

Was just here for the 4th time last Saturday, 10.20.2018, forgot to check in. Ugh! Done with this location for sure. Since opening until now they don't have uniform cuts for their jalapeno! Just wow, one bite it'll be so spicy because you get a chunk of jalapeno then another bit you get a tiny cut. It's like they dont put effort to it, just whatever the outcome of their work is, they will serve it. No care about customer satisfaction. Ive never had this problem with other location thats why i'm pointing this out on this particular location.

Craving tacos but I didnt feel like driving across town to tacos el gordo. So I decided to try this place for the first time since it's right up the street from me.. they didnt have cabeza but they did have the lengua that I always get. I got 3 tacos for 12 bucks.. they were good in size but I was very disappointed. The tacos did not have any flavors at all and my lengua was very chewy. It's not suppose to be this chewy. So I feel like I got ripped off.. but atleast now I know.

I've been coming to this location since it opened. Today I came for lunch. The service was fast and friendly and the food was good as always. After eating, I go up to the counter to get a to go bag and notice that one of the cooks wasn't wearing a face mask. I asked the girl at the counter how come that cook isn't wearing a face mask and she says I don't know. I told the girl if I knew the cook wasn't wearing a face covering that I would have never ordered the food and went some where else for lunch. I am reporting this restaurant to the health department right now and also I will never return to this location.

So this new place has a great promo for a complete meal for 3.99; beef or chicken with rice and beans. Not a bad deal. I have had their tacos and rolled tacos; both were good. I liked the atmosphere; it's casual and laid back. Good salsa bar as well. Good addition to the neighborhood

Stopped by for a quick bite before going to work. I was in a rush so I called the order in and they had it ready in 10 minutes! AWESOME! I ordered the ham breakfast burrito and added jalapeños to it. I've had breakfast burritos from other places and this has to be the best one. Not sure if it was just because I added jalapeños, but the flavor was on point! It had eggs, ham, potatoes, and CHEESE. And of course the jalapeños I added. Super super yummy. I love spicy so it was perfect but if you don't like spicy don't add the jalapeños. My husband ordered an adobada burrito and he loved it! Said it had lots of great flavor. We will definitely be back and love that it's right by our office!

We went through the drive thru on 09/30 around 7pm. The cashiers taking our order was patient and helpful, as this was our first time visiting. Although the food took awhile to complete our order, we didn't mind as we knew if was fresh. At the pickup window, the cashier was genuinely friendly, which made the wait time a little less agonizing. Food was good.

Let me tell you I am from California so I know tacos and decided to go to this place on a tooth thing I asked if they do taco Tuesday they said yes but only offer it in the chicken variety merry Christmas for me which is weird they charge 330 for a single Carnie Asada taco that is a rip off I decided to go with the nacho fry And was very bland NEVER GOING BACK

The food is just not good. The beans taste like they come from a can, and not even a good brand. The rice is good. Tacos are awful, the tortillas were stale and the shredded beef was chewy. I had tried one other location about a year ago and decided I didn't like it. I remember the food being very bland. I wanted to try it again at a different location and same thing - no flavor at all. Honestly between these guys and Roberto's, I'd pick Roberto's every time. Its near my house and I really wanted to like it. I won't be trying again.

Tried this spot, had the carne Asada fries. The fries are quite thin and small. The meat was l seasoned and overall everything else is pretty fresh and tasty.

Misleading trickery! What a crap employee experince I just had. They have a tv on the wall with managers specials. There was a picture of a plate of huaraches with rice and beans. So the guy came around the counter and I pointed to it and said I want that. then I get my order and it just had a huarache, that's it. So I say the picture had rice and beans where are my rice and beans? He proceeds to ARGUE with me for 5 minutes that it doesn't come with them cause it's not a combo. I say but the picture has them how would i know that? Why would it not come with what is pictured or have a caption that suggests that. As is, it says that of I order this then I get that. He just kept repeating that it's not a combo. Over and over I say but the picture and he just says Sorry it's not a combo. He gets more aggressive with me without ever acknowledging the issue. Fine, it's not a combo but don't have something pictured in such a way and not provide that. It seems like a reasonable concept. Further, don't talk down to your customer like they are unreasonable for expecting what is pictured. Also, what I got looks more like a sope than a huarache. Fingers crossed it tastes better than the experience I just left in my mouth.

Here is an update. This restaurant was pretty good when it opened. I would say this restaurant is now closer to excellent. I have been eating here for over 2 years now, never had a bad meal. Had plenty of great meals. The beans and rice that they are serving now, taste homemade to me. The beans have greatly improved. This place is my new number one pick for Mexican food. The tostada and cheese enchilada combo is my current go to. Excellent enchilada sauce. Even the fresh beans on the tostada make it way better. Great food, big portions, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I don't know about the other locations, but if you don't try this location, you're really missing out on some good Mexican food. Great job guys, keep up the good work

So delicious here. I have been buying the breakfast burrito with ham because it is so good. It is a good size and has shredded hash browns for the potatoes which is different than other use but is really good. Also had their horchata and was really good. Is sweeter than most and more cinnamon than most but if you like that then you will love it like I do.
