Don Villavaso on the Bayou

Don Villavaso on the Bayou and is a nice location for cigars and socializing. I've visited a few times and am not a fan of the burgers or the margaritas. The margaritas were inconsistently made during one visit. The burger was bland and burnt when on another visit. The staff is cool here and the cigar selection is nice. I just didn't like a staff member following me into the humidor each time I've visited even though I did not request assistance. I do recommend Don Villavaso on the Bayou for cigars and will visit again.

Nice chill cigar vibe with patio. Music was nice. Service was amazing. And the drinks hit right where they were supposed to.

Atmosphere is amazing. The food and service were great. Such a great place to visit while we were in town. A great vibe for drinks and hanging out.

I did not eat, but the service was ok, especially since It was not fast paced. They for got my drink, had to remind them. I will be back, because I think it was a one off. I will order next time, too.

Unsure if Don's is a cigar spot, sports lounge, or local watering hole. Crowds ebb and flow. One night full another night empty. Food is ok.

Was invited here by a close friend i was looking for a great cigar bar it was definitely a great choice 💯💯💯

The place isn’t fancy and it’s not a dive. So for what it is, it’s 5 star. Our server was great and the food was as expected and good. The cigar selection is okay- not the best but not the worst. The key here is you can smoke, drink and eat. I will be back.

First time there, and I’ll make it a weekly stop, and would recommend to anyone

This is becoming my go-to sports bar and cigar lounge in New Orleans. For starters, they have a chilled out interior with a nicely stocked bar and comfy sofas and dining tables. On the outside is a large covered dining area. In both areas large TVs are plentiful to watch your favorite sports team and cheer your heart out. On this trip, we ordered the wings and the fried chicken sandwich. The onion rings replaced the fries, and my in-laws LOVED them. The wings were meaty and nicely seasoned. I ordered them as a starter and was stuffed after eating 5. My in-laws split the chicken sandwich which was a full boneless chicken breast served on a fresh, soft bun. Our server was excellent in that she was knowledgeable, attentive and gave solid recommendations. I didn't partake this time, but they have a large assortment of cigars in their large humidor. This is an awesome place for a group, a couple or solo. The patrons are always super friendly and the staff is solid.

I love the vibe of this place inside and outside seating cigars bar. The bartender was very welcoming greeted us as we walked in and the music was so on point. They had awesome conversations and offer us their drink specials of course we'll take it. The drinks were very refreshing we didn't have to look for either of the bartenders when wanting a refill. Definitely a place to relax comfortably while feeling the welcoming of the staff alone with the other people whom came in. YES!!! Definitely telling my friends about this place.

If drinking nicely crafted cocktails and smoking cigars is your groove then head here. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Our food came out promptly. I orders Brussels sprouts and French fries. My husband had the hamburger. The Brussels sprouts were nice. A little heavy on the chili sauce but the goat cheese and jalapeños were a beautiful combo with the sprouts. The vibes were immaculate and the tables were spacious enough for intimate conversations. If you catch the happy hour from 5-8 it's $20 all you can drink. Will be back!

Sorry not sorry. Uber eats and poor customer service did not work in your favor. I orders two items chips & salsa and dirty rice. No! These things do not go together. I wanted something crunchy. My friends go to get the orders. Come to find out they don't serve chips and salsa anymore. Wait. You mean to tell me that you can't refund my money out the register? also you didn't make the half of my order that you could make? AND the lady at the restaurant was snarky with my friends? Clearly this is an on-going issue. This is a restaurant. Order bulk chips and jarred salsa. It's late night. Who will honestly know? And the rice is both mushy and crunchy. How, Sway? 2 stars is gracious. I don't like to write these types of reviews but I must be honest about my experience. It's edible enough but the crunchiness is unnerving. My friends seem to be enjoying what they ordered well enough. We've agreed to never go back. The person at the register didn't show any grace. That would have gone a long way and perhaps this review would not have been so low.

The vibe, food, and people at Don Villavosa were are great. It had a lounge feel but really good food and a range of options like lamb chops or the biggest cheeseburger patty I've seen in a long time. Everything tasted good. The cigar expert was very knowledgeable and made a great recommendation for me.

This is one of just a handful of cigar lounges in the area. The bar is fully stocked with a wide variety of options. The staff is very helpful and attentive to all customers. FYI the lamb chops are seasoned to perfect, an absolute must try!!

I was in town to visit some friends so this was a first time visit. I like the way they had their patio set up social distances service with masks and a decent menu. My friend and I didn't stay long as we got a call and had to leave but we did have time to have a couple drinks they will be fine and I will be able to come back the next time I'm in the city

This place offers a grown and sexy vibe, good Drinks, Food, wild Cigar selection, great people, with both indoor and outdoor areas. Very nice crowd, with gentleman that allowed the women to sit first and all was great. Great vibe place.

The flavor of everything was absolutely amazing. The lamb chops were incredible, the Brussel sprouts were incredible, over all a 10/10. If you want some good food this is definitely the place to go.

Lollichops!!! Absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Crawfish pasta was yummy too.

I stopped in after work with a friend for drinks. We sat on the patio. The inside was empty but there were a few people outside. We ordered the same drink but when they came out we noticed that they looked different. We inquired and were told they ran out of the mix and had to make one from scratch. The one from scratch was more transparent. My friend ordered another of that same drink and it looked different again. It was even more transparent. Then I ordered another and it was even more transparent. So, don't expect consistency in the drinks. I ordered onion rings and they brought out a plate full. They are generous in their portions. The onion rings were really good. I got a side of ketchup and ranch and was satisfied. There were not many options on the menu. Especially in the order of appetizers or happy hour types of things. They probably should consider adding a few more items. I noticed that they didn't have any music playing. I bet if they did people would stick around longer. I don't know if it was an oversight or they just don't play music. I'm not suggesting blasting the music but just something in the background for ambiance. There was a big lot with plenty of parking but if the place fills up parking might become an issue. I plan to return because I enjoyed the atmosphere on the patio, my drinks, and my onion rings.

Five stars Easily. So this particular zpot is real laid back. Outside looks chill. Inside th is spot is a bit small but let me tell yah this....how they were abke to fit a bar and cigar spot in here i dont know. So i appreciate the cleverness of the way this spot was made. So i came here with some co workers so i was a tad bit skeptical. The hist informed us of the $10 steak plates available for lunch only. I really thought it would be some small and thin cut hanger steaks and skampy potatoes. However, it really was not. I prdered mines medium well and i must say he made a good selection. My steak was nice,thick,juicy and even had the grilled smokey flavor i enjoy. It was seasoned really really really DAMN well! So kuch so that i even ate the chewy fat of it. M potatoes were delicious. I had literally NO cons. I will be back simply because there are some whickeys/Bourbons/Cognacs that i am dying to try that i saw in stock here that many other bars do not pay attention to!

I just went here to pick up at cigar but wanted to note, that there was plenty of outdoor seating at this establishment. TVs are also outside. I did not stay to eat or drink, I went straight to the humidor. I can see they typically have a great selection, but due to Covid and what I imagine to be lack of deliveries etc., the supply was a little low. The prices were good. I will be back.

Instantly became one of my favorite cigar spots. Wide selection of cigars and great price points. It is a relaxing environment you can have a meeting, grab lunch or just socialize. Not sure what the title of the person whom assists with your cigar purchase is. But he was one of the most knowledgeable persons in that area I've met. He was able to educate me regarding the tobacco leaves and the various flavors a cigar has.

Listen...I've had a lot of wings! You need to get here the jerk fried wings and the patio! The wings are fried to perfection with a hint of the Caribbean with the jerk spices. It is served with a side of cool ranch dressing for dipping the fresh, hot wings. It's good place to eat, drink, and hang out for Saints games. If you smoke cigars, they have that too! But don't worry the patio is for cigars.

New little spot on Esplanade right in the city park area! The food was great and a stake and got a very good cigar ! It a nice and inviting place

I love this spot! I had the pleasure of stopping by this place with a good friend. We bought a few cigars and sat outside on the patio. The patio is open and airy, large enough that if you don't want smoke in your face you can enjoy the atmosphere. Televisions are set up and there was soft music playing in the background. The ambience was great and the crowd was diverse. There were a few guys playing dominoes and they seemed to be having a great time. We liked it so much that we went back the following night and enjoyed it then as well. The staff was extremely personable. The jerk chicken wings were excellent and well worth the $15. The only thing that I would do differently at this spot is put cushions on the built in wood seating. After an hour or so it gets a little uncomfortable to sit on solid wood. I highly recommend you try this place.

It's the best second only to the one on Bullard !!!!!!!!!! Drinks, wings and other food on point!!!!!!!! It's has great employees especially Tyson. Love this ambience and black owned business.

Went over to watch MNF. The place was empty. The young man in the humidor was extremely helpful. I knew what I was smoking and he took care of me very quickly. I know it is the new law but I hate having to smoke outside at a cigar bar. The gentlemen that worked outside was great and he started two of the large heaters for me and I enjoyed the game. This place could be a great spot for the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to coming back to see how the food is from the kitchen.

This was such a phenomenal restaurant. My boyfriend and I randomly stumbled into Don Villavaso after having spent an hour looking for somewhere to eat. We were immediately greeted by such a warm and welcoming staff. Within minutes, we received our drinks, and were introduced to a great selection of cigars. And then the food! The wings and that salmon were amazing! Overall, the vibe is dope, and everyone felt like a family. I really enjoyed this experience and can not wait to be back!
