Where to find the best Mexican tamales in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"This award-winning restaurant has been preparing tamales in the family tradition since 1980. Whether they’re ordered one at a time, six at a time, or by the dozen, these tamales are the right blend of spice and flavor. Tamales come filled with a choice of pork, chicken, beef, or cheese or with a special dessert blend of pineapple and raisins. Find locations Downtown and in the northwest." - Krista Diamond

We love Tamales and have been coming here for years. Whether it’s with the family or a huge social group, they always have room as the restaurant is huge. Never had a bad meal or service here. Can’t beat the fresh tortillas and you can taste the difference. Always fun to watch them making the tortillas if you luck out and come at the right time. We always return for big social events as they are always willing to split the bills. I know that may be a pain but we appreciate it and besides the delicious food, this awesome service is what keeps us coming back.

Restaurant seating was much larger than I expected. Server was great and the food was good. I ordered some Tamales. They also provided chips and salsa. Relaxed while dining. First time here. Will return again. The tamales were traditional made. The total cost of the meal was reasonable. Looking forward to trying some other items from the menu next time.

Always good food, solid service, and you don't have to wait too long. Their nachos and fajitas are my favorite. Definitely get the fajitas with extra tortillas and meat if you're sharing.

Wow, I saw all the reviews and thought this would be an amazing place, but I am very surprised the reviews were great after being here for the first time. We came on a Sunday. The food was so mediocre that with all the great Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas that people gave it 4 or 5 stars made me wonder. I tried their tamale with shredded beef, and it was one big hunk of meat that was somewhat tasteless. It didn't have much of maize on it, My chile relleno was smothered in sauce that also lacked distinct flavor. It's as if just smothering in some nondescript tomato sauce was any good. The beans were fine. My husband had enchiladas that were fine but nothing special. I definitely wouldn't be seeking out this place for Mexican food. Their hot salsa is good but their regular sauce taste like pizza sauce - just tomatoes and maybe some oregano. I know it's been around for 45 years but perhaps someone needs to audit the food from time to time.

Think very carefully before being fooled by the unit economics of the tamales, we ordered too much lol! Food is homely and good, staff and atmosphere are amazing! Would come back

Super place! The food was terrific. I’m not a big tamale person usually, so never would make a point of ordering them. But when a restaurant is bold enough to put it in their name, the three of us in the party all made a point of ordering different combinations with tamales. Now I know why I wasn’t a fan of them before but I am now. Usually it’s all doughy goo with a thimbleful of meat. Not these! Tons of well flavored juicy meat surrounded by a tender wrapping of corn meal dough. I will definitely be back. Or will order their tamales by the dozen for a family feast.

I am really not that familiar with Mexican food, but the ones we ate here are good. The atmosphere is vibrant, and service is exceptional. We were greeted and seated as soon as we stepped in. Our server immediately asked us what drinks we preferred and brought them right before getting our orders. Complimentary chips and salsa were also served while we were waiting for our food, which came in in a short span of time. We'll surely go back again.

Been here years ago. I remember why I hadn't returned. The food was bland with no real flavor. The cheese was thick to cut in and chew. The pork and beef tasted old. One of the dozen was a kid sized one. The price is a little over $6 each with it getting better the more you buy. I was definitely bummed out. The service and attention was great.
