Oh my! The Donburi Factory is dangerously too close to where I live and now that I know about it, I will be a regular. This is Japanese comfort food: rice bowls with meat, seafood, tofu, sashimi, poke & sides like gyoza, edamame, and "karaage" (crispy fried chicken bites). It opened a little over two months ago and I'm happy to see the mostly -and well-deserved- positive reviews. Inside is a bit sparse and quite small but very clean. Friendly and attentive staff too. Some reviewers say the prices are too high but the fish IS sushi grade and that and all seafood, is expensive anywhere, plus everything is fresh and made to order. I think the prices are pretty fair.
I tried the Salmon Poke Don ($16.99): salmon, crab salad, cucumber, seaweed salad, romaine lettuce, and masago with your choice of sauce: sweet and spicy poke sauce or ponzu sauce (a citrusy soy sauce). I asked for no cucumbers over all salad, no rice, and the poke sauce. It was a perfect portion and absolutely delicious. My husband had the Chirashi Don ($18.99): tuna, salmon, albacore, unagi, shrimp, minced tuna, masago, wasabi, ginger, with soy sauce on the side. He also had rice which was not as sweet as other sushi rice (and that's a Good Thing). We also had two orders of edamame ($9.98), a miso soup ($2.50) and a two-piece inari sushi ($3.99). I love fresh ginger and the inari came with a huge scoop of it and I was in heaven!
I'd love to see some outside seating as spring and summer approaches and a nice hot tea offering of some kind. Overall excellent and I highly recommend Donburi Factory.
