The Best Restaurants And Hotels In Copenhagen

"There are very few restaurants in Denmark, a country with a serious aversion to spice, that serve dishes with any real heat to them. But Donda, and their aguachile with haddock, blackberry, aji limo, horseradish crema, and glasswort, are working to change that. It arrives at the start of the six-course set menu and sets the tone for the rest of the meal, which is strongly influenced by coastal Latin America. This Christianshavn spot focuses heavily on fish and seafood, cooking Danish hamachi and fjord shrimp over charcoals in the open kitchen and serving them with árbol mayo and guajillo salsa. Even the cocktails are spicy, as the bar uses jalapeños when mixing their margaritas. The restaurant is also located among the city’s iconic skyline, which makes it’s a great area to take a post-dinner walk and spot the various towers, including the twisted dragon claws of the old stock exchange building." - sorcha mccrory

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN COPENHAGEN The food was incredible and the produces were really fresh. A perfect mix of Scandinavian produces with amazing south Asian flavors. Each dish was a flavor bomb and we kept guessing the ingredients. The service was really good and helped us explaining the dishes and ingredients. 10/10 here

Visited in July 2025. We had the 6 course set menu, which was mostly seafood-based. The food was great - especially the golgappa with fish tartare, the baida bread, and the mussels with curry, which were all both tasty and interesting. I had the cocktail pairing, which was nice enough, but not particularly interesting. Service was good, both friendly and professional. The place was nice enough. Overall, I was quite impressed, and I'd be happy both to recommend the place and to return and try out other future menus - or even some more of the mussels and bread 😋

I give this place a solid 7. There were some great dishes and some misses, particularly the last dish in the set menu, the skate wing wasn't my favorite. In my opinion, another fish with a different texture would have been better suited. The other dishes were more to my liking. Especially the cauliflower filled naan and the monkfish in crispy shells, delicious . The service was good once things got going but they had us waiting for quite a while before we were attended to.

Wow wow wow! One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while! The seafood based menu was fantastic, and we had a lovely reposado Fortaleza - one of the best tequilas I’ve ever had! Service and pace of the kitchen was superb - they were very on top of my gluten free diet, which was great! Only comments would be that the components of the main course were slightly bitter, and because of the taco sharing it would have been nice with a wet wipe/sanitary towel. Highly recommend and will be back!

Khana offers really nice, flavoursome food at reasonable prices. I cannot recommend the wine menu, however - I got four disappointingly small glasses of pretty nondescript white wines that could've gone with any and every dish. Simply not worth the money.

Google
A small and really nice Latin American restaurant with great service, good service and cosy atmosphere. They serve drinks and wines, and the drinks are definitely more fun to try. Also the food is a bit spicy so a delicate wine will drown among the tasteful experiences that the courses provide. Go for the set menu.

Absolutely blown away by both the food and the service at Donda. We went here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and left having a new favorite restaurant. We had the six course menu plus a few glasses of wine and a cocktail and loved every dish. Fresh, flavorful food with a slight kick. The highlight was the tuna tiradito with yuzu and soy vinaigrette. Had we been at home that plate would have been licked clean. I was also very impressed by the dessert. Normally I don’t really care for dessert but the sweet and salty combination really did it for me. 10/10 would eat again!

It’s been my second time in Donda and it’s as good as I remembered. The menu is fit for any pescetarians out there with great vegetarian dishes thrown in as well like beetroot tostada and king oyster mushroom. My fave? The fish taco. It’s great, although I would like to have more tortilla. All in all, great night at Donda

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic Latin American dinner in a cool small space. Great cocktails, fun waiters. Food was out of this world. A fish and seafood-based menu with focus on Mexican cuisine. Themed fine dining at its best!

Yelp
A fresh, inventive, trendy new restaurant in Copenhagen. Cuisine has a unique Mexican/Spanish tapas style with a Scandinavian twist. Tried everything on the menu, which was recently updated in 2020 with in-season fruits and vegetables, several new items, and clever recipe changes. The bread with sunflower praline and apple hot sauce was a pleasant starter. The tapioca cracker, tuna with salsa is phenomenal. Try the ceviche for a tangy delight different than what you'll get elsewhere. The smoky cauliflower comes with an amazing mole reduction. Gem salad was simple, yet tasty, with local cheese and a bit of seaweed. The gambas (shrimp) are presented well, and flavorful but small (not much meat). This is made up for with the excellent grilled redfish Tikin-Xic, make-it-yourself tacos, with red salsa, refried beans, coriander, lime and homemade tortillas. Several dishes were moderately, and thankfully, spicy. Enough to fill you up or a light meal if you get a few. Dessert is a perfect balance between rich, velvety Grenache and ultra-fluffy, sweet guava sorbet on a crispy waffle biscuit. Decent beer and wine selection. I tried the 2016 Ritual Pinot Noir from Chile, but there is also a wine pairing that I will try next time to complete the experience. Staff is professional and friendly. Ambiance is young, inviting and simple. Place was busy (on a Wednesday) and rather small, so I was fortunate to get a spot at the bar as a walk-in. I recommend getting no before they decide to increase prices and you need weeks or months for a reservation. Kudos!
