I’ve had Doner Corner on my list for quite a while, and I finally got around to trying it. It did not disappoint!
First off, the restaurant is very clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly—especially the gentleman at the cashier, who has a great sense of humor. His warm and lively attitude reminded me of the fun, polite restaurant staff I encountered in Istanbul.
I ordered a Doner sandwich, Doner with rice, and Lahmacun. The quality of the meat was excellent—authentic Turkish doner with lamb, which is rare to find. That said, lamb has a distinct taste that might not be for everyone, but for those who appreciate it, this place does it right.
One thing that stood out was their house-baked bread—a real bonus! The doner sandwich tasted even better with freshly baked bread straight from their oven.
The only part that felt a bit off was the order of serving—the doner with rice came out first, followed by the sandwich a few minutes later, and then the lahmacun. It would have made more sense to serve the appetizer first before the main courses.
Also, one key thing was missing—the onion salad. Typically, Turkish doner is served with a mix of red onion, parsley, tomato, lemon juice, pul biber, and sumac, but here they served plain white onion separately. It’s a small but essential detail that adds so much to the experience, and I hope they adjust this in the future.
Despite that, I definitely recommend this place. The food is delicious, and I’ll be coming back—but I do hope they refine the serving flow and bring back the proper onion salad topping to make the experience even better!
