Donerka Shawarma & Cafe

I am so happy this new eatery just opened in this neighborhood. The place is so clean, cozy and modern. The service is excellent. It might be owned and run by this very sweet couple. The food is fresh and so delicious. I love trying food from new countries. They also have amazing desserts! We came back twice now since Saturday. Try the yummy dark chocolate bar from Kazakhstan.

I tried the breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious! The desserts deserve a special mention — not only were they incredibly tasty, but they also looked so beautiful that I couldn’t resist taking a photo😍

Donerka in Chicago has really good shawarma, and it reminded me of the Bishkek style, which is my favorite. The meat was juicy, the lavash soft, and the sauces and veggies fresh and flavorful. Portions are big and satisfying. The place itself is small but cozy, which makes it nice to sit and enjoy your meal. The only thing that surprised me was that the cook didn’t cover his beard, which made me a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, the food was delicious, and I’ll definitely come back when I’m craving Bishkek-style shawarma.

Such a nice place. The cashier greeted us with bright smile and recommended us to try Istanbul style. I don’t really like garlic and her recommendation worked great for me I loved this shawarma. Highly recommended, fruit tea and sneakers macarons was good also

had an amazing experience at Donerka Alma-Ata! From the moment I walked in, the place felt warm and welcoming. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The shawarma wraps are flavorful, juicy, and packed with fresh veggies. The sauces are perfect — just enough to enhance, not overpower. I also tried one of their desserts (the pistachio roll) — it was divine. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a great vibe for both a quick bite or a relaxed meal. Portions are generous and the value is excellent given the quality. Highly recommend to anyone who loves shawarma or wants to try something new in Chicago. I’ll definitely be back!

My favorite one is Kyiv shawarma with chicken 😍 I love that they put carrot's salad inside 👍🏻 also desserts like a macarons and pistachio rolls our favorites 👏🏻 and definitely recommend to try Karak tea
