They offered limited free parking opposite them. Do expect to wait for tables and they are frequently packed. We got ourselves a tables for 6 pax with about 20-30min. They do served quite fast after scanning the QR code order. Lil nephews love the kai si hor funn. Other recommended are the vinegered pork trotters rice, nyonya rice, pork lard wantan mee and their toast bread. Took iced dong tai coffee C to wash down the savoury.

As an Ipoh lang, I am a regular customer to this modern Chinese Kopitiam. Every time my family and I visit this outlet, they always offer the best customer service. Staff were knowledgeable and well-trained. Their food is amazing too. Today, we went and tried out their signature Kaya & Butter Toast, which came in 6 pieces (after cut). We had other dishes such as Chee Cheong Fun with Sweet & Spicy sauce and carrot cakes. I also got to try their Ho Ka Sai (a drink that combines coffee with Milo) for the first time. It turned out was not bad either. Their specially prepared Nyonya Kuih were nice too, which are always included in our order. With the great experiences over time, I sincerely recommend you to come and have a try on their delicacies.

They offer free parking directly opposite the cafe, I assume it gets packed during peak hours. There was a person managing the queue at the door, came on a weekday so managed to get a seat in a minute or two. Got their famous kaya butter toast, a cham & their curry mee. Kaya butter toast was good, thick slab of butter. Cham was ok, got the less sugar and really it was less sugar! Went well with the bread. Curry mee was good too, very strong curry flavour. Came with pretty high expectations given the glowing reviews and left satisfied. Would come back.

Good spot for breakfast. Coffee and toast really good. Their prawn mee is more subtle, lighter prawn broth version. But its good. The staffs are really active and friendly. They can handle all types of crowd. Good job guys. Need a bit patience for the food as there are crowd most of the time. The wait is worth it.

We have dined at Dong Tai on several occasions, and the overall consistency has been impressive. Across the menu, there is little to fault, every dish tastes authentic and well executed. The coffee, eggs, and charcoal bread stand out in particular, delivering a genuinely satisfying kopitiam experience. It has firmly positioned itself as my favourite kopitiam in Ipoh.

Posted 14th Sept 2025 Came here on a weekend Sunday, almost lunch hour with a short queue. Given a queue number and waited only for approximately 10 minutes. Dishes came out relatively fast even though the place was packed. The authentic shredded chicken noodle was very flavourful and full of aroma but a tad in the sweet side, but it was quite generous with the toppings. Special mention goes to the kuih, which is really good and not too sweet. The butter kaya toast was done just right with the right amount of butter and kaya. Ordering is simple and easy as you just write down the code indicated on the menu. Service was quick and attentive. The place is clean, though a bit noisy as the place is packed. Ample street parking available. Overall, it was a good experience.

2nd time visit. Their white coffee taste good n kaw enough. Chicken hor fun also taste good. However their wanton mee taste soso only, not worth to try. The kaya butter toast is good.

The desserts here are wonderfully refreshing and cooling—perfect for a warm day! We had high hopes for the coffee, but the hot brew turned out a bit too sweet for our taste. On the bright side, the rojak & roti bakar were delicious and well-prepared. The kuih here are so popular they sold out by the time we arrived!
