The food and service were excellent, but the restaurant's atmosphere didn't match the cuisine. The interior design didn't reflect the Asian theme, making it almost impossible to guess the restaurant's focus upon entering. Feels like a hotel lobby instead of a proper dining establishment.

Very high on style, not quite so high on substance. Nonetheless, a good place to meet up for a meal if you are there for the company and the food can be secondary. When walking in you are surrounded by 3 story high ceilings that make for a very luxurious and modern atmosphere. Everything is presented with a level of polish that is a step above most restaurants. The service staff are friendly and nice. However we did have to wait a while as they processed the lunch surge of guests. Dishes themselves also took their time to arrive. With the restaurant perhaps intentionally splitting the meal into 2 courses. For our table it took almost 2 hours to finish about 5 total dishes ordered. This may be good or bad depending on how much of a rush you are in. The food itself is a fusion of modern Australian and Chinese dishes. The modern Australian entrees like oysters are good. The Chinese food IMO has been adjusted to be friendly to a western palate. They are not bad, but also nothing special. Of what we tried, I would say the Dan Dan noodles and steamed fish of the day were standouts.

The menu was interesting and the food was generally good. The scallop and prawn dumplings were the best and would be worth coming back for. Don't bother with the shitake baos. It was a bit hard to get the attention of the servers but when you did they were great. Maybe the place was too big and there weren't enough of them. The venue has a nice ambiance but it was a bit dark considering we were there in the middle of the day.

A good experience! Positives: Lovely girl who hosted the evening, the kingfish, prawn and scallop dumplings and mango sago were standouts. Negatives: Chipped bowls, dirty tea cups and a traumatic wheelchair accessible bathroom (absolutely filthy). Glad I was able to visit but may think again for the quality vs price.

We went overboard with the ordering as there were so many options to choose from! The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the roast pork, char siew, eggplant, and wontons. This place has such beautiful decor and there were free fortune cookies!

We ordered the larger banquet- it didn’t disappoint! Good portion sizes for two people, every dish was delicious. Lots of chilli- so beware if you’re not a fan. You could tell the young waitress was still learning, but she was courteous, attentive & trying her best. Nice restaurant, plenty of staff & with the high ceilings it felt spacious & wasn’t loud. It is expensive, but it’s always nice to treat yourself sometimes : )

Enjoyed Yum Cha on a Sunday morning. A set menu, had all the components of tasting sample, more contemporary than traditional. Accompanied by a mimosa the food came st good intervals. Thoroughly enjoyed the dumpling set with enough dumplings for each diner. I initially thought there wouldn’t be enough to fill us but mid way through the courses we were struggling. We enjoyed coffee at the end accompanied with egg tarts (these were quite eggy and not very sweet, but very true to the traditional style) I would have preferred something a little sweeter but thats just my preference. The building and the restaurant is beautiful, lovely decor and atmosphere. Would I go again - Yes!

Love the decor and ambience, very oriental and bubbly. Service is attentive, friendly. Food surprisingly tastier than expected. Very centrally located in CBD. Reasonably priced. Would love to go again.

Yelp
Delicious food We had lunch at this beautiful heritage listed restaurant in the old Queensland Government Insurance Office. The food was a level up from the standard Chinese restaurant offering and the service was excellent. Nicey but pricey!

Yelp
Delicious food, we loved the Donna Lobster Roll, small but exquisite! Also the Moreton Bay grilled bug was a masterpiece! The duck with pancakes was beautifully displayed and the duck was nicely prepared. The slicing of the duck and cucumber was not traditional from our time in Beijing. Also the chicken in the Kung Poa was not properly diced. But the biggest detractors were the unfriendly greetings, and terrible seating. Our table faced the street and was far from enjoyable. The reception and hospitality were cold at best, but the food was delicious. If they do takeout, I would return.

Yelp
absolutely filthy food and the staff is also horrible and sat us next to a bin with flies and maggots and me and my wife were disgusted
