I had quite mixed feelings after dining here. We were very excited to visit here but came out as disappointment. On the positive side, the service was genuinely lovely! staff were polite, attentive, and made us feel welcomed. The atmosphere was also really nice, with a comfortable and pleasant setting that makes it an easy place to sit and chat over a meal. Unfortunately, the food itself didn’t live up to expectations, especially for the price point. I ordered the mapo tofu, and it was quite misleading compared to what you’d normally expect from the dish. I was expecting a rich, saucy mapo tofu that you can properly mix through rice, with depth of flavour and a bit of warmth and spice. Instead, it felt more like plain tofu with a light amount of sauce poured on top, rather than being cooked through and infused with flavour. The eggplant dish was good and prawn toast was good but all dishes are very overpriced. Because of this, it ended up feeling quite overpriced for what was served. The dish lacked the comfort and richness that usually makes mapo tofu satisfying, and honestly felt like something I could easily make at home. It wasn’t inedible, but it just didn’t justify the cost or match the expectation set by the menu. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were definite highlights, the food itself was underwhelming for me. I might consider returning for a drink or to try something else, but based on this experience, the mapo tofu wouldn’t be something I’d order again.

Quite a nice dining experience at Donna Chang. You step into a remarkable building which sets things off on the right foot. All service staff were friendly and attentive. The menu isn't cheap, but the food, for the most part, is excellent. Starters of school prawns and then fried eggplant - can't fault them. Dim sum was delicious and finely crafted, but I feel overpricedor what it was. The duck with plum sauce was beautifully cooked, however found it to be the dish that lacked something. I don't know what. The Dan Dan noodles were a greasy flavour bomb. Fabulous. For dessert, the choc parfait with its hint of orange rounded things out nicely. Drinks menu was also nicely varied with an option for everyone. Overall, a lovely night for a once a year treat. I don't think you would go here routinely given the price.

If you’re here for the atmosphere, you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you’re here for the food… suggest you go somewhere else. At least what we tried so far were quite terrible. Three of us ordered Duck chow mein noodles, Dan Dan noodles, stir fried baby eggplant, Asian greens, steamed dim sum selection, pork truffle ham sui gok, lychee colada bubble tea and passionfruit bubble tea. The chow mien was just super salty noodles; dan dan noodles was not really authentic dan dan noodles but edible; eggplants were tough, not cooked enough; the Asian greens were also too salty, without much taste and lacked any wok hei. It’s rare to find a restaurant that struggles with something as basic as vegetables. The dim sum was especially disappointing. The siu mai, in particular, had an odour like the pig has not bathed for months before it became pork. The only dish that was good was the truffle ham sui gok, which was genuinely good and is the one dish I would recommend trying. Drinks were …also not really to my liking.

Great place to taste modern Asian cuisine. Try their softshell crab, it’s delicious and gives a sense of the modern Asian flavors. The pork xiao long bao, the vegetable dim sum, the siomay or the prawn dim sum, they’re good when you eat them with the mushroom fried rice. The chongqing style barbecued whole baby barramundi is such a masterpiece dish, with its delicate and modern taste. You should also try the peking duck with the sauce. They will also give you some fortune cookies at the end of the meal. In fact, their staff is also friendly and helpful.

My husband love this restaurant so he booked the table there for our anniversary. - steak tartare was amazing - chicken was nice - fish was okay but it could be better - the dimsum was horrible - the dumpling was better than dimsum but still not good Spend total over $200 and I was so upset on how everything came out. Waiting so long for the dumpling & dimsum to come after the entree. So long until we don’t want to keep going anymore and ask the waiter to pack it to takeaway for us instead. Definitely not gonna go back again. 😔😔😔

Located inside Adina Apartment Hotel, we had our Christmas dinner here. We loved the food so much we forgot to take good photos. The servers were all very warm and welcoming. The downside is that the price of the food is on the expensive side.

The restaurant is elegant, quiet (on Tuesday lunch) and a bit dim with the lighting. Staff is friendly and welcoming, stayed attentive of us throughout the dining. We had - Peach Oolong (Fragrant but stale) - Mung bean jelly noodle (It was good and refreshing, especially with the warm weather now) - Crispy pork belly (Very crispy and the fat was distributed beautifully, the pickled veggie went really well with the pork) - Xiao Long Bao (so-so, disappointed that it did not served with vinegar & ginger) - Dim Sum Set (Not recommended; the chef did not inform us that Xiao Long Bao is included as well, the Siu Mai & Hargow included are very dry that Coles microwavable ones are better) Overall it’s a nice dining spot as the historical building, but considering the price, you will find better spots for Chinese cuisine/Dim Sum in Brisbane :)

We enjoyed the mouthwatering beef, soft shell crab, Moreton Bay bug dumplings, and the swordfish — all of which were absolutely amazing. For dessert, we had the fried ice cream, and to our surprise, the team treated us to a delicious chocolate cigar to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Such a thoughtful touch to end a perfect meal. The only down side was the service was a little slow.

Yelp
Delicious food We had lunch at this beautiful heritage listed restaurant in the old Queensland Government Insurance Office. The food was a level up from the standard Chinese restaurant offering and the service was excellent. Nicey but pricey!

Yelp
Delicious food, we loved the Donna Lobster Roll, small but exquisite! Also the Moreton Bay grilled bug was a masterpiece! The duck with pancakes was beautifully displayed and the duck was nicely prepared. The slicing of the duck and cucumber was not traditional from our time in Beijing. Also the chicken in the Kung Poa was not properly diced. But the biggest detractors were the unfriendly greetings, and terrible seating. Our table faced the street and was far from enjoyable. The reception and hospitality were cold at best, but the food was delicious. If they do takeout, I would return.

Yelp
absolutely filthy food and the staff is also horrible and sat us next to a bin with flies and maggots and me and my wife were disgusted
