Donna Franca Laboratorio Artigianale Siciliano - Review - Palermo - The Infatuation
"In Palermo, it’s arancina with an a at the end, but on the other side of the island, it’s spelled with an o. Which is correct isn’t really worth arguing—most important is finding a good one. On this bustling avenue packed with restaurants and aperitivo bars, this is your destination for freshly fried arancine. Most Sicilian rice balls are made with the two traditional fillings: veal ragù with peas or the arancina al burro with ham and mozzarella. At Donnafranca, you’ll find the classics along with options like sausage and swiss chard greens or the vegetarian norma with fried eggplant and ricotta salata." - Linda Sarris
So good, we ate there a second time! Service was attentive, but they were a bit more swamped the second time so they were a little slower but no problem. This is a great location for people watching since it is on the pedestrian street. There are a few tables inside but the outside is the best. The arancine are amazing. Very tasty. Very large. It's a full meal at a good price. They also have beautiful pastries so even if you eat outside, make sure to go inside to see.
Very clean inside and out.

Great place for breakfast/brunch - many options to choose from Arancina, brioche, ham & cheese calzone, variety filling bread, to desert. We try a lot of them and all of them are yummy. Highly recommended.

We had 1 Norma and 1 Burro massive arancine. Both were super delicious. And the Heart was so creamy and tasty. I loved it. The price was not even high compared to other places nearby.

Turist trap! Worst cake I ever ate in my life. I don't recommend this cake shop. I took two pistachio cakes and they were really bad. One was supposed to be a pistachio mousse and the other one pistachio mousse and chocolate mousse. There was no mouse inside and no pistachio taste. I tasted white chocolate and a lot of sugar for the first one and some chocolate for the second one. By far the worst cake I had in my life. Price is 8e per piece. If there were high quality ingredients, I would understand the price but price quality is a joke here.

Good Italian pasticceria. The coffee and tiramisu were very good, especially the pistachio tiramisu. Friendly staff.

We were looking forward to the aranchines but were disappointed. A place that has one main product failed to deliver. I ordered 2 different types. The Curry chicken one was salty the normal one has a spice that I didn't agree with. Might be our taste budds but we couldn't eat them and left it. The chickpea dish not sure what it meant to be. Bland, could not eat that either. Overall a bad experience.

Amazing Arancini, never seen such big variety at one place in Rome, Amalfi or other places in Italy.
There were 2 choices for vegetarian- I tried Norma, huge size & it tasted delicious.
Even their desserts were looking very inviting & were equally scrumptious.

Wide and interesting arancini selection in a central location in Palermo. A very good experience with great campari spritz too.
Huge range of choice in arancini and dolce (sweet things), with a view to the kitchen. Great price too for street food so central in the historic part of the city.
