"A night out on Capitol Hill usually has a full itinerary—there’s the pregame dinner, the dive bar where pint towers start to form, the inevitable karaoke place, and, of course, the hot dog stand finale. Next time, just go to Donna’s. This new Italian cocktail bar by the folks from Rose Temple has the whole-night-out package. With tasty under-$15 bowls of pasta like curly mafaldine in a creamy bolognese, music loud enough to ripple your tomato-basil martini, and a gold disco ball spinning at the center, there’s enough fun and great food to make Donna’s the one (and only) destination for a rowdy Capitol Hill evening. photo credit: Nate Watters photo credit: Nate Watters" - Kayla Sager-Riley

My wife Gina and I had a great breakfast this morning at Donna's. I ordered two eggs over medium with bacon hash browns and a biscuit and gravy. Gina ordered a dish entitled half hot mess. The half hot mess being half the size of the full hot mess, what's still too much food for Gina to eat it is basically eggs sausage and biscuits covered in gravy and very delicious. I may give it a try the next time I'm at Donna's as well and if I'm feeling very hungry I will order the full hot mess. As always the service at Donna's was impeccable and exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend Donna's for a wonderful breakfast. Oh by the way I forgot to mention how excellent the coffee is.

Yelp
Much better all around this time! Food was excellent, service friendly, and they were very attentive to our needs. They even helped make the wrong from last time. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
DO NOT GO IF IN A RUSH!!!! you have been warned. They are working their butts off and the place was packed. It's a small open floor plan seating area. according to a few locals, there are 2 communal tables in which you just sit down with others and order. i was a little uneasy at first, im not super social. But i really enjoyed it, i talked with several people who were at my table when i got there and by the time i left I had several new table mates. PLEASE tip the servers well, they are really busting to keep everything straight and the kitchen is working hard to keep up. I was in on a Friday which is the fried fish day for the meat and 3, was REALLY good, I had the fries and mac n cheese fries were good, I don't recommend the mac n cheese It tasted ok but it was like liquid cheese water on the macaroni and was very much like what delis serve that come out of a bag ready to heat and serve. There may be a lot here who prefer that- I just don't. I really want to try more here and hopefully i can get back in this area on a different weekday to try more. items on the meat and 3! Great experience for a small-town feel.

Yelp
While in the area, I was looking for a local joint to enjoy a country breakfast and after seeing their menu on social media and noticing that they offered a bologna sandwich, I knew I wanted to come to Donna's! The staff there was very friendly and helpful. The place would appear "divey" to most, but is actually just a southern kitchen style breakfast and early lunch joint; I believe they close at 2PM each day. I opted for the bologna sandwich with fried egg on it, and also a side of biscuit and gravy. The biscuit and gravy is not the sausage style, rather just the black pepper and white gravy style and it was good. The biscuits were fluffy and nice. The bologna sandwich was decent and made with the perfect style of bologna, just wish it was cooked a little more, as I prefer the texture of my fried bologna to be a little snappier. But overall, everything tasted pretty good. I'd definitely suggest stopping in for some good, local breakfast food! Then, on the way out, I saw the pies they made and were setting out... WOW!!! They look amazing!

Yelp
Great meat and 3 , great burgers , great fried chicken, friendly staff, a hidden gem!

Yelp
Great little dinner. You could tell that it's a favorite for the locals. I got the pork chop plate with white beans and mac and cheese. I was very happy with all of it. Service was also nice. The only thing that disappointed me was that I wanted to try them for breakfast the next before heading home and they are closed on the weekends. I really wanted to try their breakfast.

Yelp
This is an old fashioned small town breakfast place. Great food and great service at a reasonable price. It's somewhat off the beaten path, but worth the drive.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Tuesday around 12:45 and this place was packed. We had to wait to sit but only about five minutes. They were out of most veggies and were out of pie by the time I was ready to order. She and I both ordered fried chicken, fried okra, green beans, and white beans. It took a while for the food to come out. But it was all warm when delivered except for the green beans. The food was good and the chicken was excellent. We now know to come earlier if we want a choice of veggies and pie. The ambience is not much. There is a foot drop off out the front door. That was weird. That is why I deducted a star. We will, most likely, go back even though it is a 30 minute drive for us.

Yelp
We've eaten at Donnas several times and love it every time. Today we had their cheeseburger and it is, hands down, the absolute best burger around. It's big, hand patted from great meat and served on a bun almost bug enough to contain it. The patty still overhangs the bun. It's cooked on a flattop and comes out hot and delicious. For dessert we had the homemade chocolate meringue pie. Another home run and you can't beat the price. They're open for breakfast and lunch so come early and hungry. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Donna's is a diner/meat and 3 with the best fried chicken (on Tuesday, fried chicken day) and the best hamburgers EVERY day. If you are nearby, don't miss a great meal at Donna's!

Judy B.

Yelp
I do not know why it does not have a full 4-star rating. It is truly the best meat and three anywhere people come from miles away to eat there. I guess that is the only drawback is that it is always a bit crowded. I wouldn't change a thing.

Yelp
Visiting family in this area and feeling some good southern cooking. Ordered their catfish, Mac and Cheese, Hush puppies and baked potato. You will not be disappointed!! Family all ordered their cheeseburgers, Swiss & mushrooms and grill cheese with onion rings! Delicious! Great prices and quantity. Great customer service! Took home a whole chocolate pie and was one of the best pies I have had in a very long time! Next time we are trying their breakfast entrees! Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Good southern cooking.. being from Los Angeles I wanted to try places that locals go to on my road trip though Tennessee and I found this diamond in the rough. The food was great and the people there were amazing...

James S.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. The menu is well developed and the food is nicely seasoned; always fresh.

Mel O.

Yelp
Absolutely a hidden gem. Great food! Great service! Try a piece of the coconut or chocolate cream pie. You won't be sorry.

Patti H.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to eat. Friendly and clean ,the food is delicious and the pies are amazing! We eat here at least once a week. Go there you will not be disappointed . It is our favorite meat and three in Dickson! Patti

Yelp
Food was freshly made and delicious. Coffee was very good and the servers were very good about refilling our mugs.

Yelp
Out of towner came in for the first time. Customer service was good. Food was good and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back

Leanne D.

Yelp
Service was good. Food was good. No complaints. It's a little hard to find, but worth the search.

Dan S.

Yelp
The price is right, the staff is friendly, and the food while not mind blowing, if pretty good. The reason for 3 stars, is that they have been closed on multiple occasions when they most definitely should have been open. This is extremely frustrating as a customer. I get it. It's their prerogative to do so. But I have stopped going because I can't depend on them being open.

Yelp
We made our first trip to Donna's on Thursday, Feb. 7 and we're happy to find it very pleasing and delicious. The diner is fairly small but very clean and comfortable. It's a typical Southern country-style meat and three establishment. The staff were friendly and provided great service. The breakfast menu offered typical diner fare such as eggs any style, various meats including city ham, country ham, bacon, sausage, chicken, and bologna, pancakes, French toast, delicious biscuits, and sausage gravy that was peppery, thick and delicious. We were told the favorite is what Donna calls "The Mess", a conglomeration of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash-browns, biscuits smothered in their delicious gravy and piled high on the plate all for a very reasonable price. We will definitely go again.

Yelp
Great breakfast and lunch. Awesome burgers. Just wish they did breakfast a little longer. Great service. Never been disappointed.

Yelp
My husband and I are staying at the state park and decided to venture out and try some local food. Yelp highly recommended this place. It's in a residential area and easy to miss. Fantastic food and service. I just had a huge slice of chocolate meringue pie for $2.50. OMG

Roger O.

Yelp
I've never waited so long for a hamburger in my life,35 min.it was decent when it finaly showed up,but a diner hamburger shouldn't take longer than a good steakhouse

Yelp
So happy to see Donna back in the restaurant business in Dickson County. If you loved Donna's Place in Burns and have missed the wonderful hamburgers, meat & three, full/half-mess breakfasts and coconut cream pie, you will NOT be disappointed! Feels like stepping in to visit an old friend!

Dawn L.

Yelp
Very reasonably priced breakfast, good food, fast service. You would never know this is here, completely in a residential area. Well kept secret. The lunch menu looked great and will go back and give lunch a try.

Trevor A.

Yelp
This is the same place that use to be a staple in burns but has now moved to Dickson. The food is just as good as before but just in a different location.
