Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. Stopped in quick before closing and so glad we did. 10/10 local gem.

Google
A little underwhelming. The doughnut selections were pretty generic. I was craving apple fritters, the main reason for the visit and they don't have any. The tiger tails were shorter compared to other places. I ended up getting a glazed buttermilk and a choco-buttermilk, total was $3.20. The chocolate was a little pale but actually good. I have to give credit for the freshness! Hands down the doughnuts were fresh, you can taste the difference. Doughnuts were definitely not made from a factory the day before and delivered to the store the next day. Overall, at $3.20 for two doughnuts, I could have gone to McDonald's and got two sausage McGriddles for an additional 30 cents more. But hey, I feel good supporting the mom and pop's.

Order 5 dozen glazed donuts as a treat to the kids in Seal Beaches M & M Surf School. They were ready to pick up at the time I needed them, the service was great, and they were delicious! The kids loved them!

Google
Let me tell you, folks, this is the best apple fritter I’ve ever had, and believe me, I’ve had a lot of apple fritters. Nobody knows apple fritters better than me, and let me tell you, they don’t get better than this one. Total winner!

Hello from overseas (Scotland)! How is your wife doing after her aneurysm? It must've been quite terrifying for you both...God bless you and your wife!

Yelp
Ham and cheese croissants are Delicious!!!! Donuts are also a delight! It's hard to find good customer service and good food! Check the hours. They don't stay open late.

Yelp
Good donuts and quick service. A sugar donut even tasted yummier when it was one day old. That was a first. Service was quick. Limited lot parking...and a few spots on the road in front.

Yelp
I have been craving a donut and talking to my client about donuts yesterday, so while charging my car, I decided to hop into pavilions and see what they had not realizing of the donut shop nearby. I've driven by the shop so many times I never thought much of it. Today, I had a bit of a wait, I figured I'd swing by and check it out. There wasn't much of a selection since I came two hours prior to closing. BUT THEY HAD BLUEBERRY DONUTS. I bought two of the three available +3 donut holes. The lady helping me saw that I was trying to see the menu, so she told me how much everything was. I paid with cash but they do take card. Lucky for me, my blueberry donut craving was resolved with $1.50.

Yelp
Best donuts in California!! We live in Northern California and make a point to get our favorite donuts from there every time we go anywhere near there!

Yelp
Or family has been enjoying their donuts for 30+ years. I just had a couple and they are freshest every!!! So tasty. Thank you.

Yelp
Very good donut spot. We got there later in the day when the selection was restricted. First off this place is very dated and for me that's part of its charm. It's small with a handful of tables but appeared clean. We're not from the area so whenever I see a donut spot I get excited. We entered and were greeted by a little, lady lady. As I stated previously, selection wasn't all that great. I asked her "what's good?", she said "all of them!". My wife took an old fashioned which she said was a bit greasy. I took a buttermilk glazed which was fresh, sweet and wonderful.

Yelp
The hype is real...classic, fluffy donuts! Not as easy to find as you'd think, but these were 10/10.

Yelp
Quality of donuts was very good. I especially liked that the apple fritter was the size of normal round donut which makes the outer crust ratio better imo. The couple who served me were very nice. The ambiance is simple/traditional old-school donut shop. Located in a small corner plaza so not many parking spots. Definitely would return when visiting Seal Beach.

Yelp
... I really really really wanted a shave ice, but thought ok... lemme get a Slurpee cuz I was in the wrong area for Hula Girls. So, I actually went 1.6 miles out of my way to hit up a 7-11. Out of 6 flavors, 2 were working. I hate cherry and didn't want my mouth to be blue, so I walked out... right into the donut store next door. So, because of that, let me give a shout out to Donut City. The hard working couple that had a rather sad story awhile back where the wife was sick and the husband worked alone for months only to go to her side while she needed his care. I saw her sweeping today, and she looks great, so I just nodded and said "hi". I know they are humble, hard working people from the articles I read, so I had a gut feeling not to bring up the story right now... but now I'm regretting saying "Glad to see you're feeling better"... Shout out: This donut is SUPER FRESH and it's 11 a.m. I always "try" out a plain glazed when I'm at a new shop, cuz if they can do a bomb glazed, then they go down as a mental note as a "good" donut shop. A+ here.

Yelp
The warm ham and cheese croissant is amazing. It's pretty big and filling and I enjoyed it a lot :) I also got a pink donut with sprinkles and it was so light and fluffy.. amazing!!! The man working there is very nice, sweet, and hospitable :) The store itself is very cute and clean. This will be my new go to spot whenever I'm in the area or headed for the beach

Yelp
I don't know why I didn't think to stop by Donut City until today. Well, I'm glad that I did coz I found another donut shop to frequent whenever the craving hits. Upon entering the store, we were greeted by the owners. The store was clean so that's another good sign. Since my only reason for today's visit is to buy donuts, I placed my order for 3 of my faves -- glazed, sugar raised, and blueberry cake. The total came out to $4.10 so prices were comparable to others. Both yeast donuts were soft and pillowy. They tasted fresh and not oily. The blueberry cake delish as well; the fruit flavor wasn't lost in the donut batter. Of the three, the glazed was the best, then sugar, and then blueberry. Their glazed is almost the same as my favorite donut shop in FV. Donut City satisfied my donut craving and gets top stars for flavor, price, customer service, and convenient location. I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants or needs a donut or three. Now I have a local go-to donut place instead of driving to FV just for donuts.

Yelp
We also stopped at Donut City this morning for breakfast and some small prayers at the beach. I had not been here in a while, we had a good morning breakfast. I would come have donuts or bagels here when I lived in Cypress and Los Alimitos. Purchased a couple bagels and donuts for everyone. Coffee is really good here too. Nice spot near the water and all. My go to spot.

Yelp
Family business here for over 30 years. Love their great tasting donuts. Very friendly. The place need a little bit of renovation.
google avatar

Wayne G.

Yelp
Considering the cost of this in CA this place is a bargain. The buttermilk donut with maple icing is very good. The coffee is marginal but at gas station prices what was expected.
google avatar

Will P.

Yelp
Good donuts and friendly service. Lots of options to choose from. Tasted better than Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme.
google avatar

Pete B.

Yelp
I visited this donut place because of all the great reviews. Staff was friendly. The donuts were fresh but they were average. I had seen all the great reviews for the blueberry donut and it was just okay. I have had them at other places where the blueberry flavor is way more prominent. The apple fritter was good comparable to other donut places. There was plenty of parking and it sounds like getting here early is important as they were out of the large apple fritter when I arrived late morning.

Yelp
amazing donuts ! The owners here are very nice and hear warming. The place is very nice.

Yelp
My donut shop of choice when on PCH and traveling through the Seal Beach/Sunset Beach area. Excellent quality and great prices.

Yelp
Hands down the most consistent BEST ham and cheese croissant (with or without jalapeño- recommend with) anywhere! Plus the owners are amazing and the donuts are dynamite as well.
google avatar

Mia K.

Yelp
Very friendly owner. It was my first time and I asked about his wife. She is doing much better. I am so touched hearing how customers bought out the daily inventory repeatedly so the owner could close shop and be with his wife. I wish I had tried a croissant. They seem to be popular. The Blueberry donut and Apple Fritter were my favorites. I liked the Glazed Buttermilk - so simple yet sublime. The Boston Creme and French Cruller were good but I've had better. I tried a cup of coffee. Good, smooth taste but I like it stronger. Cheap prices, too! Wasn't busy when I came on a Saturday morning and the parking spots are only for Donut City and 7-11. Will definitely return and try a croissant! No holding back next time!

Yelp
The best donuts ever, a family owned and very friendly the price is very great too definitely recommend

Yelp
Wonderful and charming old school donut shop! Super friendly staff. Great prices. Easy parking. The donuts are legit old school donuts! We got the sprinkles cake donut and raised donut with chocolate icing and they hit the spot! The ham and cheese croissants here was also great! We had to get a little something for later ;). Would highly recommend for a craving!

Yelp
The donuts are a perfect early-morning pick-me-up and the owners are always a kind face to see.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious donuts, great selection, efficient service and great pricing. This is my new favorite donut shop.

Yelp
This is a great little family run donut shop in Seal Beach. They have a great selection of wonderfully made donuts. Personally I love apple fritters. Theirs are wonderful and they make smaller ones which you can't find at most places. Sadly enough, this just tends to mean that I eat 2 of them rather than 1 but I do appreciate it none the less. You'll get service with a smile and it is obvious that it is a good place when there are some customers who are obviously regulars and are greeted by their first name.
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
I read about this donut shop, so I came be early on a Saturday morning. It wasn't busy at this time and I was able to get in and out fast. The store owner helped me with picking my order and he was helpful. The store was close and the display cases were full. The parking lot is not very big but I was there early so parking wasn't a problem.

Yelp
Really amazing little spot, heard about this place from some colleagues and had to try it, once i was there i heard about the owners and had to get 3 dozen donuts and take them to the office. They were all very nice and amazing, very friendly. The donuts were fresh and great, i even had some colleagues tell me how amazing they were, and of course i told them where to go and to get them. Thank you so much for the amazing fresh donuts i will Definitely be back soon. God Bless you, and your amazing family.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
The best donuts in town, hands down. Family run business that's been there forever. No frills, just very fresh donuts. They close early so hurry up!
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Loved this place since I was a little kid. I've eaten at countless donut shops over the years and besides Sesame Donuts in Portland; Donut City is the best. I usually get a couple chocolate sprinkled cake donuts, or one of their incredible cream cheese pastries. The cinnamon twists are great too. Owners are the kindest people ever.

Yelp
Quintessential mom and pop donut shop in a prime location on PCH. I have driven by Donut City a million times and am so glad we finally stopped in to give them a try. The interior is minimal and charmingly dated, yet immaculately clean. At 9am on a Saturday the case was brimming with every classic flavor you could hope to find. The young guy working was super friendly and helped me choose 12 different varieties to try. One dozen donuts, a coffee, and a milk came to just $16. The coffee was fantastic-a nice nutty medium roast. My favorite of the donuts I tried was the Old Fashioned, which was delicate and moist on the inside, with a crisp, sweet exterior. The Buttermilk was equally impressive for the same reasons. Their raised donuts were also excellent, with a vanilla scented airy dough and icings/toppings that provided the perfect amount of sweetness. They accept all credit cards. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great place. I am so grateful to the wonderful owners and really appreciate them being in town. Good food.

Yelp
Great croissants and donuts, friendly service! John even heated up our huge ham and cheese croissant to go, and it was delicious and better than expected. Heard about this place on the news, and his wife was there hard at work cleaning - glad she's recovered!

W. M.

Yelp
Been to a lot of donut places, this is one of the best nationally for all around fresh good classic donuts. They don't offer any of the artesan, fancy stuff. Just the classics made the absolute best and the most important, at a fair value. Went to one of the yahoo best of the best spots, donut was 9 bucks, was a good donut, but left a bad taste when I realized did the value test. The donuts here are simple, well made, and my wife and I get two donuts each, coffee, and out for less than 5 bucks....amazing. They are really nice people, open early, and have a lot of regulars. The only negative to this location is if you aren't there by 9/10a their choices are limited since they close at 1.
google avatar

Max K.

Yelp
Great old fashion and twists. Very soft and delicious! Better come early or you will miss out.
google avatar

Yelp
Go EARLY! I read the article in the Washington Post and since I live close enough, I set off in near darkness but rocking up at 6:30 am there was not much left (see pic!). Still my muffin was awesome and super filling and very fresh, and the community vibe reminds me why I so LVE the OC. John laughed and smiled when I thanked him in Khmer -- it's OKUN CHAROEN so you can too! I will be back for !!!
google avatar

Yelp
Folks, I think something happened to these owners. This morning by 630 everything had been sold. News crew galore...whatever it is my prayers to your family. The support from this community is tremendous. I went to the VA just passing by decided to stop by. To my surprise this happened. I am just speechless and in these election days that the country is more divided this is proof that there is more good people than not. To all thank you and my thoughts and well been to the family.

Yelp
What can you say about a place where you have some of the kindest people working on Pacific Coast Highway in an expensive neighborhood where you can get the best donuts cinnamon rolls and mini donuts of each varietal for a few bucks. Beyond that the owners do so much for the community and always are ready to put a smile on the local communities face support this business we need more of these in our communities
google avatar

Tammy K.

Yelp
This is the only place in Southern California you should be buying donuts! Donut City just made national headlines when Seal Beach rallied around its owners after finding out that the wife of the duo had suffered a brain aneurysm and he was running the place by himself. Decades this place has served SB with love and its coming full circle! Good aim Karma! Oh and Yes the donuts are excellent but the energy is even better. Stop by, grab a sweetie (or 12!) and enjoy your day!

Yelp
Great neighborhood mom and pop donut shop that has been around for years. I've been driving by forever and wondering and the wondering is now over! Great donuts fair prices and friendly service. I always try the basics to judge a donut shop. Like trying a pizza, I like to start with cheese only to judge the vote basics. I had a glazed, glazed old fashion, glazed jelly and small Apple fritter. All staples of any donut shop worth its salt. Well they were all delish and the glaze was perfect. Just the right amount of glaze (full coverage) and very fresh. Ample jelly in the jelly donut even though I'm not a fan of seeds of which there were very few. The Apple fritter was great as I usually don't get them anymore since they are huge but a small one was just perfect. I think they are getting thru the pandemic but it sure isn't helping so if you are hankering for a donut give this place a shot. Worth a drive to check out.

Mackenzie F.

Yelp
My fiancé and I have been trying out donut shops in the area for the past couple of months and tried this one today. The donuts were delicious! There are lots of options and each donut we got was wonderful. I do not usually write reviews, but this donut shop was just that good! In our opinion this donut shop is the best one in the area! We will be visiting again.
google avatar

Jake S.

Yelp
The freshest donuts I've ever had, thin crispy outside and soft fluffy inside with an appettizing glaze on the top
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
Trying to place a large order and they're not answering the phone. It rings over and over with no voicemail. Update: stopped in this morning to pick the team up some donuts. Very quick, in and out and the case was full. Donut holes, chocolate bar, blueberry, crumb, cinnamon, glaze.

Noone L.

Yelp
Called at 5:30 am and they were open and took our order and it was ready when we arrived. Very friendly staff and great donuts. Easy to find them on line as we were from out of town
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
Nothing fancy here; just a good old fashion donut shop. They have bagels, breakfast sandwiches, etc. the donuts good; the glazed holes melt in your mouth. Parking seemed like it could get busy. But a great option to grab quick breakfast in this area
google avatar

Rhett B.

Yelp
A standard traditional donut shop -- nothing fancy, just donuts, coffee and juice, but good quality and very friendly staff. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood and craving a donut.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
Fresh,Yummy, fresh!!! Lol always sweet and nice to everyone! Would come here everyday if the economy wasn't inna Pandemic!! Def would recommend!!

Yelp
Best donut in town and they customize it for your party theme! Thanks Sam for my bumble bee donut for my daughter's first bumble bee beeday party

Yelp
Good. Fast. Cheap. YES - all three! We stop here at least once a week for super fresh donuts. They are good enough I get one, even though I shouldn't. You should get at least one too. Hey get two too.
