"After serving up its popular donuts, cakes, and ice cream sandwiches in Lynwood for five years, Donut Factory is readying a new location near the University of Washington. The shop should open up in mid-May, right around the corner from Sharetea, in the spot formerly occupied by local favorite Ly’s Donuts. Founder Marc Sapatin says a sneak preview could start in late-April. Donut Factory is known for such decadence like its glazed and cinnamon crobars (a flaky croissant-doughnut hybrid in bar form), its mango-filled jelly donuts, and Instagram-worthy ice cream sandwiches drenched in Fruity Pebbles and Oreo crumbles. With more than 80 different varieties of donuts, customers will have plenty to choose from at the new location, but there will also be some new flavors, like an ube-flavored doughnut. And Sapatin says they will continue to play around with shaping their doughnuts into letters and shapes, likely making the purple yam-based ube variety into U’s or W’s for Huskies fans. The space — which will have seating for 15-20 — has been upgraded with more outlets and WiFi for students who need to get some work done. Plus, there will be espresso from Pegasus Coffee on hand, and ice cream floats as the summer months roll in. Donut Factory has been serving the nearby UW Medical Center for years on contract, but this will be its first official expansion anywhere, with possibly more to come down the line. Good news for Seattle fried dough fans looking for another solid option in the area." - Gabe Guarente

Don’t order from here if you’re ordering from too good to go. They gave me donuts that you could buy from the grocery store easy. My boyfriend said it tastes like somebody’s dirty carpet. They’re selling cheap donuts for $5.99 for 6 tiny 2 inch donuts that taste like goat hair and leave an oily dirt aftertaste. Very stale like cardboard. I will be throwing these directly into the trash as they should not be consumed by humans. I wish I can have my $5.99 back.

BEST. DONUTS. EVER. Best staff, generous loyalty program. Have visited many times now as I'm a local business owner and without exception the donuts have always been fresh in the staff have always been kind and outgoing. The smell from the parking lot to the moment you walk in is exactly what you would hope for. Fresh. Donuts. Highly recommend. Do not miss if you are in the Lynnwood area.

I've been coming here throughout the years for my daughter's birthday donuts. Always such a special experience with tasty, unique treats.

This is what I ended up with. So disappointed to get in my car start watching a $4.+ Dollar XL Fritter with NO APPLE NO CINNAMON!!! Come home and open this little bag...and same with regular size APPLE FRITTER with NO apple or cinnamon!?

10/18, my daughter and I stopped by, and we were greeted by such a warm welcome! I've been here a couple of times, and the service was never great, but this guy was very nice and pleasant w us. I appreciate the vast variety even during the late afternoon, unlike previous visits. My daughter was able to pick out sprinkle donuts and i was able to pick out the rest of the dozen 😄

Google
These have to be the most amazing donuts I've ever had! They're extremely soft but not dry, the flavor is delicious and they come at a really decent price. I'm definitely going to have to avoid going here too often because otherwise I will be getting way too many donuts. They have an amazing powdered sugar raspberry filled donut that left me regretting the fact that I only bought one.. The employee that helped me showed charismatic service, and a candid personality.

I’ve tried this location 2 times. The first time I stopped in at the store; the young man working answered the phone in the middle of serving me, and while another customer waiting. He spoke on the phone for at least 2 minutes. It was lengthy considering he was in the middle of helping me when he decided to prioritize the phone call. After getting off he apologized and said, “it was the big boss man.” Which honestly made me wonder if the “boss man” would have wanted him to keep customers waiting or could he have called the boss man back. He kindly gave me a free donut and he told the other lady she would also get one… “for the wait.” Again, I just wonder if that’s what the boss wants them to do. After getting off the phone he finished putting my requested donuts in a small bag, he tossed them on the counter and the top donut fell out onto the counter. He tossed it in the trash and gave me a new one without me even having to ask. My chocolate covered Bavarian cream donuts had no chocolate on them once I got to my car to eat. The donut on the bottom of the small bag was upside down so the chocolate was smushed all over the bottom of the bag, and the other was on the bottom of my fruit filled donut. I ordered donuts once more today, via door dash. Nutella biscoff, chocolate covered bar, double chocolate (received regular/vanilla/white old fashioned with chocolate frosting), and Reese’s peanut butter cup. All very disappointing. No flavor. I ate one in the morning around 0700 and by 1100 the other ones were flattened. I’ve never seen a donut go flat like that. When I ate the second one not only had it deflated there was a thin layer of uncooked dough. The Reese’s peanut butter, same thing with the dough. Although I didn’t inspect the dough on this one. I took one bite and then threw it away. There was barely any Nutella on Nutella donut. The chocolate on both of the donuts was minimal. I don’t recommend. There is a Top pot doughnuts in Edmonds that I recommend, Evergreen donuts in Lynnwood

Google
Excellent donuts for a pretty good price. Tucked into a little strip mall along Highway 99 this was a surprise find, and we were glad that we stopped in for dessert after eating nearby. You'll find the standard bakery fare here, plenty of different types of donuts for you to choose from.

Yelp
This place has AWESOME donuts. The variety, quality and freshness can't be beat IMHO. The employees are always nice. Don't miss this gem of a donut shop!

Tong David H.

Yelp
The donuts are good. Typical donut shop with a good selection. The two times I've come here were very different. First time was great. Guy had a smile and was super nice. Loved it. This time however the guy was super mono toned and didn't really care. Honestly he didn't seem like he wanted to be there. That kind of makes me not wanna come back. Oh well.

Molly J.

Yelp
Great donuts, friendly people. Sadly, often out of my favorite donut, the ever-popular glazed twist. Get bargains on Too Good To Go App!

Ash G.

Yelp
Great donuts Great staff Came in a little late and managed to snag some freebie donuts too! I absolutely love this place and even got my graduation donuts from here and everything is still as delicious as when I first tried them Absolutely stop by and grab from there many many flavors

J M.

Yelp
Delivery review: Ordered 3 more times and they weren't nearly as good. Raspberry filling is confined to the center now. Only got 3 bites with filling and it took about 10 bites to eat it. (You can see in my pic I got filling on the first bite (and every subsequent bite) on my 1st order.) Then they ran out of the Bavarian chocolate creme filled and replaced them with maple bars with chocolate on top instead? Just refund me and send the others I ordered.

Yelp
UPDATE: Donuts: 4.5 Stars As an update to my earlier review - I was very pleasantly surprised that not only were their donuts very good when purchased, but we had a couple left over the following day and they were still very good. Almost as good as Day 1. That's very rare. We had a half a donut left two days after purchase, and I would still say it was better than most other store's donuts as one day-old. That's amazing. They must be using very good oil when frying. I would not hesitate to buy extra donuts next time. Wow!

Mary N.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp since I was craving donuts. The place had plenty of free parking and the location was easy to find. The cashier wasn't very friendly. They made me feel rushed and had a cold presence the entire transaction. We got our donuts to go and ate it at home though there were plenty of open tables. The donuts were pricier than other spots with the premium donut being around $3 if I remember correctly. The donuts were overly oily and not memorable. I definitely won't be coming back due to the price and lack of customer service.

Jeannette F.

Yelp
The crew was helpful and friendly today. Just wondering if some of donuts were yesterday's donuts? I would normally give 5 stars but today 3.5-4 it's ok, it's unusual

Yelp
Review of Donut Factory, Linwood, Washington: A One-Star Experience I rarely feel compelled to write a scathing review, but my visit to Donut Factory in Linwood, Washington, was such a disappointing experience that I can't, in good conscience, let it go unaddressed. Where do I even begin? This establishment managed to fail on almost every conceivable level--from the quality of their products to their management and overall operations. The Donuts: A Colossal Disappointment Let's start with what should be the main attraction: the donuts. You'd think a place with "Donut" in its name would at least have decent donuts, but alas, that's not the case here. The donuts were absolutely terrible. The texture was stale, almost rubbery, like they'd been sitting out for days. The flavors were either cloyingly sweet or completely bland--nothing about them tasted fresh or thoughtfully made. To make matters worse, the donuts were shockingly overpriced for their size. Imagine paying gourmet bakery prices for something that's barely bigger than a donut hole and tastes worse than a prepackaged gas station snack. It's outrageous. The lack of quality paired with the ridiculous price tag makes this place feel like a complete scam. The Overall Experience: A Nightmare Between the overpriced, inedible donuts, the terrible atmosphere, and the abysmal management, Donut Factory in Linwood is a disaster from start to finish. I left feeling not only dissatisfied but genuinely baffled as to how this place is still in business. I would strongly advise anyone considering a visit to steer clear of this place. There are plenty of other donut shops out there that actually care about their products, their customers, and their overall operations. Donut Factory is not one of them. If management is reading this, I implore you to take a hard look at your operations. Treat your business with care, improve the quality of your products, and stop gouging your customers. Until then, you won't see me--or anyone I know--setting foot in your establishment again. One star is generous. If I could give zero, I would.

Julie G.

Yelp
Kinda mixed review. Some of the donuts were good, others were almost under cooked or soggy. The service was just ok and the location is in an older mall that could use a refresh. $2.50 per donut. I've been to other donut shops where the service is better and it just makes the food & experience so much more enjoyable.

J S.

Yelp
Average donut shop. The photos that other customers are taking were years ago and they no longer make. That's why I can only give it an average rating and would rather go to other donut shops for something different. We ordered the ube coconut and strawberry filled cream cheese donuts and both were good though. I didn't see much creativity with the donuts and variety, so this is why it would be considered average. Worth a try for newbies, but for foodies who want adventure, try your research elsewhere

Yelp
Got a custom bday donut arrangement from here and it was amazing! The donuts were much bigger than I thought they would be and the counter staff was super nice! Great alternative to a traditional bday cake Update: Got another custom order a football game get together, everyone loved!

Mike O.

Yelp
Not sure what's going on st the doughnut factory these days!!! These doughnuts used to taste so amazing!!! That was back then and this is apparently now!! All I could take while eating these doughnuts was the oil they had been cooking in!!! To make things worse, after finishing the doughnuts, I had to wash my mouth out and brush my teeth to get rid of the oily aftertaste from the doughnuts!!! I used to be a HUGE fan of the Doughnut Factory and a frequent customer. Now... I'll never be back as the doughnuts are just simply horrible tasting now!!!

Eurasia L.

Yelp
They have really good doughnuts. They are all fresh and get this, you may order ahead of time for parties or any celebration events. Kind of pricey but your choice. I saw posts on Yelp and most look amazing. I might give it a go one day.

Anna D.

Yelp
What's not to love about a bunch of delicious, interesting sugar?! I've only had the raised donuts, but let's be honest that's the best kind of donut and each one was delicious. The donut itself it pretty light and crispy, and the topping is always delicious! I always get the chocolate Bavarian cream, and the cream is tasty, white the chocolate icing is pretty tasty as well. The Ube flavor has a nice delicate ube taste (you can really taste the ube in the icing) and the sprinkles just add a nice crunch to each bite. I also had the blueberry filled, which I personally felt the icing was a bit too much, but the filling was just delectable. My partner thought it was the best of the bunch. I would definitely try some other interesting flavors. The base donut is light and airy, but still crisp, and the fillings and toppings make things so interesting! Yum!

Hannah M.

Yelp
Second time I have been here to pick up an online order (which was PREPAID) and they "closed early." No notification or warning (or refund). Absolutely never again.

Kerri L.

Yelp
Wow, it is yummy and worth the favorable reviews. It's a simple unassuming donut shop, bare bones with a few tables. Nothing fancy, no lines and no chipper bouncy greeting at 8:30 in the morning on a Sunday....I could imagine a small modest crew up very early in the morning, making these delicious donuts and just a bit tired finishing out a shift. Casual, quiet, responses as they filled our order which worked just fine for us. A very large selection of buttermilk, cake, fritter, maple bars,,,,so many to choose from...check out their menu online. The taste? Delicious, lighter than expected and not greasy. Clean, simple, subtle flavors. Perfect. Highly recommend!

Mallerlyn V.

Yelp
The doughnuts here are delicious! They have a large variety of fun flavors as well as your classics. The service is always friendly, there's a parking lot and the price for the doughnuts are lower than your chains.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Donuts are tasty but service is hit or miss. Pretty good selection with a few unique to the area offerings.

Nicole K.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place for like a month! We were finally able to go and... they have yummy donuts! Yay! The fruity pebble and Reese's one were super good. Bacon bits on the bacon maple bar were a little underwhelming. I would get donuts here again though!

Generous Y.

Yelp
I've tried to visit three times at 6 PM when the store clearly closes at 7 PM, all three times unsuccessful. Two times I tried to use the ToGoodToGo app to get a random selection of donuts at the end of the day (pickup from 6 - 7 PM, the last hour before closing) because we all know leftover donuts get tossed at the end of the day, which is unfortunate. Regardless, I guess this spot likes to close early and also waste those donuts. Both doors were locked on all three visits. Two visits the inside was completely dark whereas one visit the light was still on, but the inside of the store was clearly empty (no donuts on display either). Conversely, the U-District location always follows the set times so it's not necessarily the chain altogether, but just this specific location.

Ray I.

Yelp
I don't often find myself on the north end, but I do often find myself looking for fonts when out and about. I purchased 1/2 dozen box: O.G, glazed, apple fritter, blueberry cake, raspberry filled, cronut-bar, and a Bavarian cream buttermilk bar. The apple fritter was chiefly without apples. Certainly not chucks large enough to identify, thankfully it was overly oily, like many others. The buttermilk bar with a dollop of Bavarian cream on top was laking enough cream to truly warrant naming rights. The O.G, was perfect. The blueberry cake was not disappointing The raspberry filled was actually filled with jam, not the expected teaspoon of jelly that others try and pass-off as a filled donut. I will not seek these out again. If I find myself in the neighborhood I might drift in for a single, but not a full box.

Derrick G.

Yelp
Donut Factory has a great assortment of donuts. I was very impressed with their selection and flavor of donuts. This is a great place to order donuts, if you want variety. Donut Factory has a better selection than the normal chain donut establishments.

Tanis L.

Yelp
Two donuts, one stop: Donut Factory in Lynnwood. For my fifth and final stop of my driving donut tour today, Sunday 27 November 2022, I selected two Bavarian cream donuts from the offerings. The line was not too long and I was fortunate to arrive when I did, around 10:15 a.m. There were only two Bavarian Cream Buttermilk donuts left on the tray, I got the second to last one and someone else got the last one as I was waiting to pay. The other donut I went with was Glazed Bavarian Cream. The workers were direct and communicated with clarity, payment was straightforward. The Glazed Bavarian Cream was very light and fluffy and had a hearty dollop of cream. None of the flavors were overpowering and the cream was well-executed with creaminess shining through over sweetness. The Bavarian Cream Buttermilk was superb. The donut material was cohesively crumbly and tasted of buttermilk. The cream was nestled towards the top of the donut, requiring vertical chomping to get donut material and cream in the same bite. Filling choices without too much mess. Available parking was in flux as I was there and eating in the car with different patrons parking and departing. It also managed to hail and have sunshine breakthrough in the approximately twelve minutes it took me to eat the two donuts. Fun and enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
Cravings, we all have them & boy was my boyfriend & I desiring a simplistic treat to savior our sweet tooth. * This is the absolute BEST place to visit for a quick bite of choice for DONUTS! Freshly made in the morning, EVERY morning to perfection. * The displays are beautiful, along with the staffing's attitude there as well. Very polite & kind with such a cute, fun atmosphere. The amount of flavors & combinations are phenomenal as well! * Coming again ASAPPPP! * I am more so upset with the pricing hence the 4 star instead of 5 star review, everything also pretty nice!

Alex B.

Yelp
Always open late. Expensive. Good coffee. Lots of choices. Easy to pay with digital currency.

Erica P.

Yelp
This is a go to for my family. My kiddos LOVE all of the different "fancy" flavors and I love that they make a damn fine donut. My favorite is the glazed old-fashioned, though their cake donuts and yeast donuts are very good also. The donuts themselves are not overtly sweet which is extra nice when you are getting one of the fancy doughnuts with sugary glaze and oreos on top (a kiddo favorite). The line can be long on weekend or holiday mornings, but hang in there, it's worth the wait!

Kathleen S.

Yelp
Donuts were a bit pricey but delicious... Service was really friendly and if I'm craving a donut when in that area I will be stopping by again!

Amber S.

Yelp
We had a few donuts this morning- the blueberry fritter was outstanding. Initially wanted to check this place out due to all the photos of Ube donuts. Unfortunately they were all out. It doesn't appear they have ice cream donuts either. Would come back- but it's quite out of the way for not knowing if they're going to have the ube or not.

Mike N.

Yelp
We've been here many times. Always really good doughnuts. Went in today and the quality was completely different. Fritters were oily and soggy. Others doughnuts were dry. $3.90 a doughnut but that was for the "fancy" ones. New managment? Bummer....

Anya Z.

Yelp
These tasted like your basic grocery store donut except three times more expensive. Nothing special. And they gave me a stomach ache.

Alfred N Cess G.

Yelp
Best in town, pricey but really really good! French crullers only on weekends but boy are they fantastic!

Justine S.

Yelp
Came in at about 1:00. The gentleman working was nice and they had a full case. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was expecting it to be different .. but it seemed like a very typical donut shop. I grabbed a half dozen donuts. I tried their version of the cronut and my husband said it was good, fluffy, and you can taste all the ingredients. I thought it was decent. I was really looking forward to trying their ube flavored items but they didn't have any.

Neri S.

Yelp
My experience was positive with Donut Factory up until this post and I do make a 2 star recommendation regretfully. I did an online order for the first time of 6 donuts and everything with the app and the notifications went perfectly; easy, convenient, and effective. The ambiance in the store is very nice and the staff was friendly. Upon arriving the box was taped up and ready to go with my name clearly marked on the box. It didn't occur to me to break the tape seal to validate what was in the box. After getting home and opening the box it became apparent out of 6 donuts ordered, 2 were incorrect. In truth I thought perhaps I clicked the wrong cart button a couple of times. I did validate in my email receipt that I had clicked the right items in both cases, I just got the wrong donut flavors. The two were the same type of donut I ordered, just not the flavor I ordered. I didn't receive something wholly different than the variety I selected. I do want to add though we received an extra donut that we didn't order, never a bad thing to get an extra donut right? :) Regarding the donuts themselves...unfortunately all the donuts were very dry, including the fillings, and the fillings themselves were sparse. The most pronounced donut in the dry condition was the Nutella bar. The bars were shrunken, narrow, and dry as a bone. It is almost as if they were a day old already...speculation I know but honestly having had a good experiences up until now the level of quality was markedly different than our past experiences. In conclusion, if you're very picky about what flavors you selected then I would encourage patrons to break the seal and double-check their order before leaving. I would also say it may be worth it to go pick the donuts yourself at their counter to see how they look as well.

Kelsey J.

Yelp
I can't speak to the taste of the donuts as they were gifts, but the man behind the counter had terrible service! I felt like I was interrupting him and I as I was deciding on donuts (which only took a few a minute or two), he was impatient/rude.

Cassandra P.

Yelp
Order donuts while in town visiting family. Told the young lady behind the counter to just throw in her favorites and make it a dozen. While I have Celiac and was not able to partake my daughters LOVED these donuts. Light and airy, glazed the right amount. They said the variety the employee gave us were a little intimidating but so good. We did miss the Fererro Rocher & S'mores' ring but that doesn't seem surprising since who wouldn't want that? A few from Our order: Glazed Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Bar, Bavarian Creme Buttermilk, Glazed Lemon, Mango Filled

David S.

Yelp
Pasding through and had desire for some donuts They seem to have good cleanliness and take measures to keep you safer (hand sanitizers, encouraged and given napkins so you don't tough door exiting. But the donught where beyond what I thought. Never had a donuts filled with ice cream, takes a few bites to get used to be it is good. The blueberry fritter was so good as well. Highly recommend.

Rachel P.

Yelp
I would eat their donuts if they fell on the floor of a barber shop at a pig farm. Worth the stop, worth every penny.

Smrithi S.

Yelp
We stopped a couple weeks back late on a Saturday, and didn't have many options left. We got a couple Old Fashioned Glazed, one Original Glazed, and one Vanilla Coconut Cake. The Old Fashioned Glazed was good, The Original Glazed, and the Vanilla Coconut Cake were okay. It didn't live up to all the hype I had heard about their donuts.

Natalia M.

Yelp
Let me start with that, I am not a huge donut conessuir but the donuts were yummy and this was my first visit ! The shop is located in a small plaza and the store has its private parking for customers ! Upon arriving you are greeted with many varietes of donuts being displayed beautifully. I chose the option of purchasing 1/2 a dozen assorted mix. The gentlemen assisting me with the donuts was kind, quick, and helpful. I highly recommend mainly because the service was pleasant and the donuts were also good :) definitely not your Swans Trail Farms donuts *drool*

Dakota S.

Yelp
4pm on a Monday. Both 3.5/5 on the blueberry fritter and fruity pebbles. The fruity pebbles were stale but still a good tasting donut. Blueberry fritter was of a nice thickness but not really crispy. Not overly sweet, but a good level and unique blueberry flavor. I like that they sell the fritters in regular and XL, a lot of fritters are just massive so a "regular" is a nice option. The cream filled however was amazing!!! 5/5. Excellent dough, amazing filling you don't want to end, Chocolate icing that lets you know it is there in the most complimentary and dare I say enticing way. Fantastic donut. Great donut shop and good hours (open until 7pm much appreciated!!!), excellent combos/flavors. There is even an ice cream donut sandwich I'm looking forward to trying this summer!! Can't go wrong with the factory definitely some of the best donuts in the north end of Seattle.

Harlyn D.

Yelp
I had ordered letter donuts to be picked up on Sunday 1/15. I received a text message my order was ready for pickup and when we arrived we were told our order was never made. It was a frustrating experience to be notified to come for our order and drive 40 mins only to throw a bday party with no desserts. I hope that this automated text system is solved to save people a lot of trouble when your business fails to complete orders that are paid for upfront and not at time of pickup. The inconvenience was not resolved for beyond a refund. Text received that was clearly inaccurate Donut Factory: Your order #180DB757 is ready at Donut Factory: 20815 67th Ave W #202, Lynnwood, WA 98036

Steve L.

Yelp
Nice donuts, great service and easy parking. The price is about right for good donuts. A good to go place!

Mireya S.

Yelp
This use to be our family's favorite donut shop! Recently they are not the same- the donuts are very "oily" smaller than they use to be? We had to stop going and find a new place. Hopefully they go back to how they use to be.

Ces S.

Yelp
Good service good food! We'll sure comeback for more. my all time favorite is their maple bar

Kathy P.

Yelp
Wanted to try a donut shop nearby when snow was coming down...the donuts were meh. The only one that we really liked was the Apple Fritter. Ordered via UberEats and didn't get exactly what we ordered just some close variations. The donuts we received looked good but missed their mark on flavor and weren't hard but not soft and fluffy either, more greasy heavy than anything. The Apple Fritter was the best one and I wished I ordered only Apple Fritters--had I done that then the rating would be way higher. The other donuts besides the fritter probably taste way better fresh but I guess that's what we get ordering donuts when snow is falling...

Gia C.

Yelp
So. Good! I got donuts here for the first time yesterday and they have an interesting, unique selection to choose from. I loved the Ube ice cream stuffed donut and the fruity pebbles donut. They were out of banana fritters but I definitely want to try one next time I go. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I love donuts and this is my new donut spot

Jon O.

Yelp
Great selection of delicious donuts! I counted at least 25 varieties, but I bet there are more. Each one was moist and fluffy, not overly greasy, and so tasty! Favorites were the apple fritter, the old fashioned chocolate, and the cinnamon sugar. I will definitely be back to try more flavors!

Billy C.

Yelp
Judging by the other reviews, the choices for donuts in this town must be really slim. Donuts were bland and flavorless. Chocolate original? Didn't taste like chocolate, just sugar. Glazed? No flavor. The staff is nice. Someone could make a killing with a good donut shop in this area.
